    I have the following tag: <script type="text/javascript" src="https://cdn.example.com/js_file.js"></script> In this case the site is HTTPS, but the site may also be just HTTP. (The JS file is on another domain.) I'm wondering if it's valid to do the following for convenience sake: <script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.example.com/js_file.js"></script> I'm wondering if it's valid to remove the http: or https: ? It seems to work everywhere I have tested, but are there any cases where it doesn't work?

  • Get the position of a div/span tag

    Can someone show me how to get the .top & .left position of a div or span tag when one is not specified? ie: <span id='11a' style='top:55px;' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> <span id='12a' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> In the above, if i do: document.getElementById('11a').style.top The the value of 55px is returned. However if i try that for span '12a', then nothing gets returned. I have a bunch of div/spans on a page that i cannot specify the top/left properties for, but i need to display a div directly under that element. Thanks for lookin :-)

  • How do i make divs go into another row when full?

    My code is something like the below. When theres 3 images everything is fine once theres 4 it gets full and moves the entire div.top into another row. How do i make the div inside top just start a new row instead? I tried writing .top width=500px but once it hits or passes it instead the images inside are squeeze together instead of each being 150x150. I tried max-width on top instead and in opera and chrome i see the border of top as 500width but the images continue to render pass it. (i have a firefox problem with my div so the width looks fixed to something else). So how do i make these divs go into another row? and not try to squeeze together <div class="top"> <div><a href><img/></a></div> <div><a href><img/></a></div> <div><a href><img/></a></div> </div>

The problem is that the page will pop-out the download, and you can save it, but it will not allow another form submit. i was thinking of doing a page refresh after the submit. But i cant figure out how to do that and not stop the download. Do you have any ideas. Thanks

    Okay, this is really confusing me. I have some content inside of a div like so: <div style="background-color: green; width: 200px; height: 300px;"> Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest. </div> However, the content overflows the DIV (as expected) because the 'word' is too long. How can I force the browser to 'break' the word where necessary to fit all of the content inside?

    I'm still leanring PHP/MySQL but have learned quite a bit thanks to codies on StackOverflow. I'm trying to setup a sort of room reservations system using two tables: SETUP: Room price table: Has, prices for a type room a client may want to rent as well as the dates (day of week) they wish to use it. Pricing varies based on day of the week and per room. I've setup a different table for each room type as each room type carries different pricing for each day of the week. So, There is an Alpha room table, Bravo room, etc. Within Alpha table are headers for the days of the week with pricing pre-entered into the rows. Client info table: Has the name, address, date of room use, etc data for the specific client. EXAMPLE: Alpha-room price table: Sun = $100; Mon = $200; Tue=$300 and so on. Bravo-room price table: Sun = $100; Mon = $200; Tue=$300 and so on. Client data table: ClientName; date-of-room-use; address; day_subtotal; grand_total. QUESTION: I'm trying to find PHP code that will: look at the date of room use in the client data table, look up the associated cost for that date in the specific room pricing table, record that unit cost in the day subtotal of the client data table and sum a grand total in the grand total row of the client data table (assuming the room may be used more than one day by the customer). I know there's something to do with join but I'm finding it difficult to grasp the concept and, if someone can demonstrate using this example, I think I will have a better understanding of how to work this sort of transaction. Which is returning lines that contain 'onemyndseye@localhost' and removing it so that only the following is returned: <input type="checkbox" id="D1" name="D1" /><a href="http://www.linux.com/rss/feeds.php">http://www.linux.com/rss/feeds.php</a> <br /> <input type="checkbox" id="D2" name="D2" /><a href="http://www.ubuntu.com/rss.xml">http://www.ubuntu.com/rss.xml</a> <br /> Thanks to the wonderful users of this site Ive gotten this far and can even return just the links but I am having trouble getting the rest...   • How do I get a div to float to the bottom of its container?

    I have floated images and inset boxes at the top of a container using float:right (or left) many times. Recently I hit a need to float a div at the bottom right corner of another div with the normal text wrap that you get with float (text wrapped above and to the left only). I thought this must be relatively easy even though float has no bottom value but I haven't been able to do it using a number of techniques and searching the web hasn't come up with anything other than using absolute positioning but this doesn't give the correct word wrap behaviour. I had thought this would be a very common design but apparently it isn't. If nobody has a suggestion I'll have to break my text up into separate boxes and align the div manually but that is rather precarious and I'd hate to have to do it on every page that needs it.

  • Iframe/Popup redirecting opener window

    Hello all, I have a page located at x.com. On this page is a button that, when clicked, will launch a new window (using javascript's window.open() method) to a page that is located at z.com. The popup does a few things, then redirects the original window (the opener, x.com) to a different page based on some parameters defined in the popup. This works fine in Firefox/Chrome, but not in IE. In IE (8 specifically, but I believe 7 also has this problem) the original window (the opener) is not redirected. Instead, a new window comes up and THAT window is redirected. I've tried many different methods to try and get this to work, including changing the popup to an iframe loaded on the page and having a function on the opener that the popup/iframe call. The problem seems to be that IE refuses to allow cross-domain sites to talk to each other via javascript. Is there a way around this? How can I get the parent window to redirect to a page based on parameters in a popup or iframe? Bara
