  • How to avoid CSS conflict using jquery?

    I am experiencing a CSS conflict issue. Here are the details: I have a search results page in which products are shown in grid format. The CSS for that is grid search results is "product-grid.css" which is included header of the page. On this page I have button which when clicked shows the search results in list format. The css for list format is "product-list.css" which is also included in head tag of the page. Now the HTML guy has made the name of classes to be same in both product-grid.css and product-list.css. What I want is that when I am viewing the page in grid style only product-grid.css should apply to respective portion of the page. And when I am viewing the page in list format then product-grid.css should be disabled and product-list.css should apply on whole page. I have tried enabling and disabling css files using jquery but may be I am doing something wrong. Also when the page loads both css files are active in head tag and due to conflict in classes names the page is malformed even without shifting to other view. Any help what should I do?

  • In Javascript, how to avoid NaN when adding arrays

    I'm trying to add the values of two arrays in javascript eg. [1,2,1] + [3,2,3,4] The answer should be 4,4,4,4 but I'm either getting 4,4,4 or 4,4,4,NaN if I change the 1st array length to 4. I know a 4th number needs to be in the 1st array, but i can't figure out how to tell javascript to make it 0 rather then undefined if there is no number.

This gives me literally em:updateURL=\"http:\/\/bla\/update.rdf\"\n on output file... so how to make the second version to give output like first version?

I'm trying to select the row with key = 1 via this code: $query ="SELECT * FROM Bowlers WHERE key = '1'"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); For some reason, I'm getting this result: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'key = '1'' at line 1 The mysql statement works for using other keys, ie WHERE name = 'djs22'. Any ideas?

  • php error reporting - having trouble matching local & web server settings

    I'm trying to add a custom error handler to my site, but in doing so have discovered that my webhost's PHP error reporting settings and those of my localhost (default XAMPP) vary considerably. While I thought I was programming to E_STRICT like a good little boy, adding the error handler to my webhost revealed craploads of Runtime Notices. Example: Runtime notice strtotime() [function.strtotime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for 'CST/-6.0/no DST' instead In /home/... Clearly this isn't a red-alert, showstopping error. But what bothers me is that it doesn't show up on my localhost. I'd certainly like to improve my code by addressing these sorts of issues if I could see them! I've looked through both php.ini files, and my webhost's setting is error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE whereas mine was error_reporting = E_STRICT, which I had thought was better. However, changing mine to match and rebooting the server doesn't seem to have accomplished anything. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

  • Get UITableView to scroll to the selected UITextField and Avoid Being Hidden by Keyboard

    I have a UITextField in a table view on a UIViewController (not a UITableViewController). If the table view is on a UITableViewController, the table will automatically scroll to the textField being edited to prevent it from being hidden by the keyboard. But on a UIViewController it does not. I have tried for a couple of days reading through multiple ways to try to accomplish this and I cannot get it to work. The closest thing that actually scrolls is: -(void) textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField { // SUPPOSEDLY Scroll to the current text field CGRect textFieldRect = [textField frame]; [self.wordsTableView scrollRectToVisible:textFieldRect animated:YES]; } However this only scrolls the table to the topmost row. What seems like an easy task has been a couple of days of frustration.     This is a tad complicated, and please, I know all the arguments against natural PK's, so we don't need to have that discussion. using VS2012/MVC4/C#/CodeFirst So, the PK is based on the date and a corresponding digit together. So, a few rows created today would be like this: 20131019 1 20131019 2 And one created tomorrow: 20131020 1 This has to be automatically generated using C# or as a trigger or whatever. The user wouldn't input this. I did come up with a solution, but I'm having problems with it, and I'm a little stuck, hence the question. So, I have a model: public class MainOne { //[Key] //public int ID { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=1)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketDate { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=2)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketNumber { get; set; } [StringLength(3, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be three letters")] public string CorpCode { get; set; } [StringLength(4, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be four letters")] public string DocketStatus { get; set; } } After I finish the model, I create a new controller and views using VS2012 scaffolding. Then, what I'm doing is debugging to create the database, then adding the following instead of trigger after Code First creates the DB [I don't know if this is correct procedure]: CREATE TRIGGER AutoIncrement_Trigger ON [dbo].[MainOnes] instead OF INSERT AS BEGIN DECLARE @number INT SELECT @number=COUNT(*) FROM [dbo].[MainOnes] WHERE [DocketDate] = CONVERT(DATE, GETDATE()) INSERT INTO [dbo].[MainOnes] (DocketDate,DocketNumber,CorpCode,DocketStatus) SELECT (CONVERT(DATE, GETDATE ())),(@number+1),inserted.CorpCode,inserted.DocketStatus FROM inserted END And when I try to create a record, this is the error I'm getting: The changes to the database were committed successfully, but an error occurred while updating the object context. The ObjectContext might be in an inconsistent state. Inner exception message: The object state cannot be changed. This exception may result from one or more of the primary key properties being set to null. Non-Added objects cannot have null primary key values. See inner exception for details. Now, what's interesting to me, is that after I stop debugging and I start again, everything is perfect. The trigger fired perfectly, so the composite PK is unique and perfect, and the data in other columns is intact. My guess is that EF is confused by the fact that there is seemingly no value for the PK until AFTER an insert command is given. Also, appearing to back this theory, is that when I try to edit on of the rows, in debug, I get the following error: The number of primary key values passed must match number of primary key values defined on the entity. Same error occurs if I try to pull the 'Details' or 'Delete' function. Any solution or ideas on how to pull this off? I'm pretty open to anything, even creating a hidden int PK. But it would seem redundant. The error occurred while evaluating nil.url_for) on line #5 of app/views/sitemap/_sitemap.builder: I assume this means that ActionController::UrlWriter is not included in the right place, but I really don't know

  • htmlspecialchars() - How and when to use and avoid multiple use

    Hi, I'm building a PHP intranet for my boss. A simple customer, order, quote system. It will be denied access from the Internet and only used by 3 people. I'm not so concerned with security as I am with validation. Javascript is disables on all machines. The problem I have is this: Employee enters valid data into a form containing any of the following :;[]"' etc. Form $_POSTS this data to a validationAndProcessing.php page, and determines whether the employee entered data or not in to the fields. If they didn't they are redirected back to the data input page and the field they missed out is highlighted in red. htmlspecialchars() is applied to all data being re-populated to the form from what they entered earlier. Form is then resubmitted to validationAndProcessing.php page, if successful data is entered into the database and employee is taken to display data page. My question is this: If an employee repeatedly enters no data in step 1, they will keep moving between step 1 and 4 each time having htmlspecialchars() applied to the data. So that:- & becomes:- &amp; becomes:- &amp;amp; becomes:- &amp;amp;amp; etc.. How can I stop htmlspecialchars() being applied multiple times to data that is already cleaned? Thanks, Adam

  • Having trouble routing a page in ruby

    I currently have a users model and controller, whenever a user is created it makes there profile url at example.com/users/userid. I also have a users/new page and a users/index page. The issue is that when I try to create a users/selected users page rails thinks its a user id and gives me this error. "Couldn't find User with id=selectedusers." I've previously been able to fix this by directly calling the pages in the controller e.g index, or new but I'm not sure how to handle a page that doesent have a function in the controller.   • Trouble Avoiding Microsoft Outlook's Email Warning

    I have a set of records in Microsoft Access that I am trying to send in an Email. The email feature works great. Except a warning message pops up every time a message is ready to send, and the user has to click "Allow" or "Deny" for every email sent. I looked up a workaround, and have been following the tutorial for it: http://www.everythingaccess.com/tutorials.asp?ID=Outlook-Send-E-mail-Without-Security-Warning. My problem is that when I put my message in the function it always returns false, and the message fails. Any help would be appreciated.   • Trouble getting email attachment from Exchange

    I am getting the error message “The remote server returned an error: (501) Not Implemented.” when I try to use the HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() using the GET Method to get an email attachment from exchange. I have tried to change the HttpVersion and don’t think it is a permissions issue since I can search the inbox.     I'm trying to implement: User drags a draggable li to a droppable li. The original li is no longer draggable A new li is cloned from the original li, and is appended to the droppable li.     An example for the sake of the question: I have a database which contains users, questions, and answers. Each user has a score which can be calculated using the data from the questions and answers tables. Therefore if I had a score field in the users table, it would be redundant. However, if I don't use a score field, then calculating the score every time would significantly slow down the website. My current solution is to put it in a score field, and then have a cron running every few hours which recalculates everybody's score, and updates the field. Is there a better way to handle this?
