  • ThreadAbortException (WebClient using DownloadFile to grab file from server)

    - by baron
    Hi Everyone, Referencing my Earlier Question, regarding downloading a file from a server and handling exceptions properly. I am positive that I had this solved, then in classic programming fashion, returned days later to frustratingly find it broken :-( Updated code: private static void GoGetIt(HttpContext context) { var directoryInfoOfWhereTheDirectoryFullOfFilesShouldBe = new FileInfo(......); var name = SomeBasicLogicToDecideName(); //if (!directoryInfoOfWhereTheDirectoryFullOfFilesShouldBe.RefreshExists()) //{ // throw new Exception(string.Format("Could not find {0}.", name)); //} var tempDirectory = ""; //Omitted - creates temporary directory try { directoryInfoOfWhereTheDirectoryFullOfFilesShouldBe.CopyAll(tempDirectory); var response = context.Response; response.ContentType = "binary/octet-stream"; response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Format("attachment;filename={0}.zip", name)); ZipHelper.ZipDirectoryToStream(tempDirectory, response.OutputStream); response.End(); } catch (Exception ex) { Debug.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); context.Response.StatusCode = 404; } finally { tempDirectory.DeleteWithPrejudice(); } } This was working fine, and returning the zip, otherwise if the file didn't exist returning 404. Then on the client side I could handle this: public bool Download() { try { using (var client = new WebClient()) { client.DownloadFile(name, tempFilePath); } } catch (Exception) { fileExists = false; } return fileExists; } But the problem now is two things. 1) I get System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted in the server side try-catch block. Usually this was just a file not found exception. I have no idea what or why that new exception is throwing? 2) Now that a different exception is throwing on the server side instead of the file not found, it would seem I can't use this set up for the application, because back on client side, any exception is assumed to be filenotfound. Any help, especially info on why this ThreadAbortException is throwing!?!? greatly appreciated. Cheers

  • UDK SettingsScene variable

    - by Ricket
    I am in the process of porting a script from UT3 to UDK. The script is for class ZOUIFrontEnd_MainMenu extends UTUIFrontEnd_MainMenu. I'm getting the following compiler error: C:\UDK\UDK-2010-03\Development\Src\FixIt\Classes\ZOUIFrontEnd_MainMenu.uc(18) : Error, Bad or missing expression in Call to 'OpenSceneByName', parameter 1 The referenced line is as follows: OpenSceneByName(SettingsScene); Okay, so I figured the OpenSceneByName function changed in UDK. Tracing the path of inheritance all the way up to UDKUIScene.uc, I found the definition: function UIScene OpenSceneByName(string SceneToOpen, bool bSkipAnimation=false, optional delegate<OnSceneActivated> SceneDelegate=None) Assuming SettingsScene is a string, everything looks fine, right? So I figured I would find SettingsScene to make sure it's a string. Well doing a search for "SettingsScene" in all files turned up only one other line; UTGameReplicationInfo.uc line 334: UTPC.OpenUIScene(class'UTUIFrontEnd_MainMenu'.default.SettingsScene); But UTUIFrontEnd_MainMenu doesn't have a SettingsScene variable in it! Just to check, I changed my line of code to match: OpenSceneByName(class'UTUIFrontEnd_MainMenu'.default.SettingsScene); And indeed, I get the following compile error now: C:\UDK\UDK-2010-03\Development\Src\FixIt\Classes\ZOUIFrontEnd_MainMenu.uc(18) : Error, Unknown Property 'SettingsScene' in 'Class UTGame.UTUIFrontEnd_MainMenu' How does UTGameReplicationInfo.uc successfully compile? Where is the SettingsScene variable?

  • Using ComplexType with ToList causes InvalidOperationException

    - by Chris Paynter
    I have this model namespace ProjectTimer.Models { public class TimerContext : DbContext { public TimerContext() : base("DefaultConnection") { } public DbSet<Project> Projects { get; set; } public DbSet<ProjectTimeSpan> TimeSpans { get; set; } } public class DomainBase { [Key] public int Id { get; set; } } public class Project : DomainBase { public UserProfile User { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Description { get; set; } public IList<ProjectTimeSpan> TimeSpans { get; set; } } [ComplexType] public class ProjectTimeSpan { public DateTime TimeStart { get; set; } public DateTime TimeEnd { get; set; } public bool Active { get; set; } } } When I try to use this action I get the exception The type 'ProjectTimer.Models.ProjectTimeSpan' has already been configured as an entity type. It cannot be reconfigured as a complex type. public ActionResult Index() { using (var db = new TimerContext()) { return View(db.Projects.ToList); } } The view is using the model @model IList<ProjectTimer.Models.Project> Can any one shine some light as to why this would be happening?

  • Model Binding, a simple, simple question

    - by Paul Hatcherian
    I have a struct which works much like the System.Nullable type: public struct SpecialProperty<T> { public static implicit operator T(SpecialProperty<T> value) { return value.Value; } public static implicit operator SpecialProperty<T>(T value) { return new TrackChanges<T> { Value = value }; } T internalValue; public T Value { get { return internalValue; } set { internalValue = value; } } public override bool Equals(object other) { return Value.Equals(other); } public override int GetHashCode() { return Value.GetHashCode(); } public override string ToString() { return Value.ToString(); } } I'm trying to use it with ASP.NET MVC binding. Using the default customer model binder the property will always yield null. I can fix this by adding ".Value" to the end of every form input name, but I just want it to bind to the new type directly using some sort of custom model binder, but all the solutions I've tried seemed needlessly complex. I feel like I should be able to extend the default binder and with a few lines of code redirect the property binding to the entire model using implicit conversion. I don't quite get the binding paradigm of the default binder, but it seems really stuck on this distinction between the model and model properties. What is the simplest method to do this? Thanks!

  • C# Why can't I find Sum() of this HashSet. says "Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow."

    - by user2332665
    I was trying to solve this problem projecteuler,problem125 this is my solution in python(just for understanding the logic) import math lim=10**8 found=set() for start in xrange(1,int(math.sqrt(lim))): sos = start*start for i in xrange(start+1,int(math.sqrt(lim))): sos += (i*i) if sos >= lim: break s=str(int(sos)) if s==s[::-1]: found.add(sos) print sum(found) the same code I wrote in C# is as follows using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class Program { public static bool isPalindrome(string s) { string temp = ""; for (int i=s.Length-1;i>=0;i-=1){temp+=s[i];} return (temp == s); } static void Main(string[] args) { int lim = Convert.ToInt32(Math.Pow(10,8)); var found = new HashSet<int>(); for (int start = 1; start < Math.Sqrt(lim); start += 1) { int s = start *start; for (int i = start + 1; start < Math.Sqrt(lim); i += 1) { s += i * i; if (s > lim) { break; } if (isPalindrome(s.ToString())) { found.Add(s); } } } Console.WriteLine(found.Sum()); } } } the code debugs fine until it gives an exception at Console.WriteLine(found.Sum()); (line31). Why can't I find Sum() of the set found

  • How to implement a counter when using golang's goroutine?

    - by MrROY
    I'm trying to make a queue struct that have push and pop functions. I need to use 10 threads push and another 10 threads pop data, just like i did in the code below. Questions : 1. I need to print out how much i have pushed/popped, but i don't know how to do that. 2. Is there anyway to speed up my code ? the code is too slow for me. package main import ( "runtime" "time" ) const ( DATA_SIZE_PER_THREAD = 10000000 ) type Queue struct { records string } func (self Queue) push(record chan interface{}) { // need push counter record <- time.Now() } func (self Queue) pop(record chan interface{}) { // need pop counter <- record } func main() { runtime.GOMAXPROCS(runtime.NumCPU()) //record chan record := make(chan interface{},1000000) //finish flag chan finish := make(chan bool) queue := new(Queue) for i:=0; i<10; i++ { go func() { for j:=0; j<DATA_SIZE_PER_THREAD; j++ { queue.push(record) } finish<-true }() } for i:=0; i<10; i++ { go func() { for j:=0; j<DATA_SIZE_PER_THREAD; j++ { queue.pop(record) } finish<-true }() } for i:=0; i<20; i++ { <-finish } }

  • Linq to SQL DynamicInvoke(System.Object[])' has no supported translation to SQL.

    - by ewwwyn
    I have a class, Users. Users has a UserId property. I have a method that looks something like this: static IQueryable<User> FilterById(this IQueryable<User> p, Func<int, bool> sel) { return p.Where(m => sel(m)); } Inevitably, when I call the function: var users = Users.FilterById(m => m > 10); I get the following exception: Method 'System.Object DynamicInvoke(System.Object[])' has no supported translation to SQL. Is there any solution to this problem? How far down the rabbit hole of Expression.KillMeAndMyFamily() might I have to go? To clarify why I'm doing this: I'm using T4 templates to autogenerate a simple repository and a system of pipes. Within the pipes, instead of writing: new UserPipe().Where(m => m.UserId > 10 && m.UserName.Contains("oo") && m.LastName == "Wee"); I'd like to generate something like: new UserPipe() .UserId(m => m > 10) .UserName(m => m.Contains("oo")) .LastName("Wee");

  • Using Lambda Expressions trees with IEnumerable

    - by Loathian
    I've been trying to learn more about using Lamba expression trees and so I created a simple example. Here is the code, this works in LINQPad if pasted in as a C# program. void Main() { IEnumerable<User> list = GetUsers().Where(NameContains("a")); list.Dump("Users"); } // Methods public IEnumerable<User> GetUsers() { yield return new User{Name = "andrew"}; yield return new User{Name = "rob"}; yield return new User{Name = "chris"}; yield return new User{Name = "ryan"}; } public Expression<Func<User, bool>> NameContains(string namePart) { return u => u.Name.Contains(namePart); } // Classes public class User { public string Name { get; set; } } This results in the following error: The type arguments for method 'System.Linq.Enumerable.Where(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable, System.Func)' cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. However if I just substitute the first line in main with this: IEnumerable<User> list = GetUsers().Where(u => u.Name.Contains("a")); It works fine. Can tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?

  • WCF MessageHeaders in OperationContext.Current

    - by Nate Bross
    If I use code like this [just below] to add Message Headers to my OperationContext, will all future out-going messages contain that data on any new ClientProxy defined from the same "run" of my application? The objective, is to pass a parameter or two to each OpeartionContract w/out messing with the signature of the OperationContract, since the parameters being passed will be consistant for all requests for a given run of my client application. public void DoSomeStuff() { var proxy = new MyServiceClient(); Guid myToken = Guid.NewGuid(); MessageHeader<Guid> mhg = new MessageHeader<Guid>(myToken); MessageHeader untyped = mhg.GetUntypedHeader("token", "ns"); OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(untyped); proxy.DoOperation(...); } public void DoSomeOTHERStuff() { var proxy = new MyServiceClient(); Guid myToken = Guid.NewGuid(); MessageHeader<Guid> mhg = new MessageHeader<Guid>(myToken); MessageHeader untyped = mhg.GetUntypedHeader("token", "ns"); OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(untyped); proxy.DoOtherOperation(...); } In other words, is it safe to refactor the above code like this? bool isSetup = false; public void SetupMessageHeader() { if(isSetup) { return; } Guid myToken = Guid.NewGuid(); MessageHeader<Guid> mhg = new MessageHeader<Guid>(myToken); MessageHeader untyped = mhg.GetUntypedHeader("token", "ns"); OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(untyped); isSetup = true; } public void DoSomeStuff() { var proxy = new MyServiceClient(); SetupMessageHeader(); proxy.DoOperation(...); } public void DoSomeOTHERStuff() { var proxy = new MyServiceClient(); SetupMessageHeader(); proxy.DoOtherOperation(...); } Since I don't really understand what's happening there, I don't want to cargo cult it and just change it and let it fly if it works, I'd like to hear your thoughts on if it is OK or not.

  • LINQ 2 SQL: Partial Classes

    - by Refracted Paladin
    I need to set the ConnectionString for my DataContext's based on an AppSetting. I am trying to do this by creating a Partial Class for each DataContext. The below is what I have so far and I am wondering if I am overlooking something? Specifically, am I dealing with my DataContext's correctly(disposing, staleness, etc)? Doing it this way will I have issues with Updates and Inserts? Is the file BLLAspnetdb.cs useful or neccessary in the least or should all of that be in the generated partial class AspnetdbDataContext file? In short, is this an acceptable structure or will this cause me issues as I elaborate it? dbml File Name = Aspnetdb.dbml Partial Class File Name = Aspnetdb.cs partial class AspnetdbDataContext { public static bool IsDisconnectedUser { get { return Convert.ToBoolean(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["IsDisconnectedUser"]) == true; } } public static AspnetdbDataContext New { get { var cs = IsDisconnectedUser ? • How to map IDictionary<string, object> in Fluent NHibernate?

    - by user298221
    I am looking to persist user preferences into a collection of name value pairs, where the value may be an int, bool, or string. There are a few ways to skin this cat, but the most convenient method I can think of is something like this: public class User { public virtual IDictionary<string, object> Preferences { get; set; } } with its usage as: user.Preferences["preference1"] = "some value"; user.Preferences["preference2"] = 10; user.Preferences["preference3"] = true; var pref = (int)user.Preferences["preference2"]; I'm not sure how to map this in Fluent NHibernate, though I do think it is possible. Generally, you would map a simpler Dictionary<string, string> as: HasMany(x => x.Preferences) .Table("Preferences") .AsMap("preferenceName") .Element("preferenceValue"); But with a type of 'object', NHibernate doesn't know how to deal with it. I imagine a custom UserType could be created that breaks an 'object' down to a string representing its Type and a string representing the value. We would have a table that looks kind of like this: Table Preferences userId (int) preferenceName (varchar) preferenceValue (varchar) preferenceValueType (varchar) and the hibernate mapping would like this: <map name="Preferences" table="Preferences"> <key column="userId"></key> <index column="preferenceName" type="String" /> <element type="ObjectAsStringUserType, Assembly"> <column name="preferenceValue" /> <column name="preferenceValueType"/> </element> </map> I'm not sure how you would map this in Fluent NHibernate. Maybe there's a better way to do this, or maybe I should just suck it up and use IDictionary<string, string>. Any ideas?

I experimented with many commands and coudn't find the way how to force gs to print PDF on my (windows default) network drive. I don't need point exact network printer- default can be used. But if there is no such option I'm happy to pass printer name as well. (I've tried with param -SDevice="\server_IP\printer_name" but this didnt work as well...) Command working under Windows cmd: gswin32c -dPrinted -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dNOSAFER -q -dNumCopies=1 -sDEVICE=ljet4 -sOutputFile="\\spool\\\Server_Name\Printer_name" "C:\test.pdf" Method created base on above - doesnt work and thorws exception. • ajax error when calling from javascript

    - by vikitor
    Hi, I' still newby to this so I'll try to explain what I'm doing. Basically what I want is to load a dropdownlist depending on the value of a previous one, and I want it to load the data and appear when the other one is changed. This is the code I've written in my controller: public ActionResult GetClassesSearch(bool ajax, string phylumID, string kingdom){ IList<TaxClass> lists = null; int _phylumID = int.Parse(phylumID); int _kingdom = int.Parse(kingdom); lists = _taxon.getClassByPhylumSearch(_phylumID, _kingdom); return Json(lists); } and this is how I call the method from the javascript function: function loadClasses(_phylum) { var phylum = _phylum.value; $.getJSON("/Suspension/GetClassesSearch", { ajax: true, classID: phylum, kingdom: kingdom }, }, function(data) { $('#sClass').attr("disabled", true); $('#sClass').selectOptions("-2"); $('#sClass').removeOption(/./); var values = ''; $('#sClass').addOption("-2", "-Select All-"); for (i = 0; i < data.length; i++) { $('#sClass').addOption(data[i].RecId, data[i].TaxonName); } $('#sClass').selectOptions("-2"); $('#sClass').removeAttr("disabled"); }); } I can't get it to work. Any tips? Thanks in advance

  • Linq to NHibernate wrapper issue using where statement

    - by Jacob
    I'am using wrapper to get some data from table users IQueryable<StarGuestWrapper> WhereQuery = session.Linq<User>().Where(u => u.HomeClub.Id == clubId && u.IsActive).Select( u => new StarGuestWrapper() { FullName = u.Name + " " + u.LastName, LoginTime = DateTime.Now, MonthsAsMember = 2, StarRating = 1, UserPicture = u.Photo.PhotoData, InstructorFullName = "Someone Xyz", TalkInteractionDuringSession = true, GoalInteractionDuringSession = false }); I use this without a problem as a IQueryable so I can do useful things before actually running the query. Like : WhereQuery.Skip(startRowIndex).Take(maximumRows).ToList(); and so on. The problem occurs using 'where' statement on query. For example: WhereQuery.Where(s => s.StarRating == 1) will throw an exception in runtime that 'StarRating' doesn't exist in User table - of course it doesn't it's a wrappers property. I will work if I materialize query by WhereQuery.AsEnumerable().Where(s => s.StarRating == 1) but then it loses all the sens of using IQueryable and I don't want to do this. What is strange and interesting that not all properties from wrapper throw error, all the bool values can be used in where statement. Example : WhereQuery.Where(s => s.TalkInteractionDuringSession) It works in EntityFramework , why do I get this error in NHibernate and how to get it working the way I want it to ?

  • How do you unit test a LINQ expression using Moq and Machine.Specifications?

    - by Phil.Wheeler
    I'm struggling to get my head around how to accommodate a mocked repository's method that only accepts a Linq expression as its argument. Specifically, the repository has a First() method that looks like this: public T First(Expression<Func<T, bool>> expression) { return All().Where(expression).FirstOrDefault(); } The difficulty I'm encountering is with my MSpec tests, where I'm (probably incorrectly) trying to mock that call: public abstract class with_userprofile_repository { protected static Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>> repository; Establish context = () => { repository = new Mock<IRepository<UserProfile>>(); repository.Setup<UserProfile>(x => x.First(up => up.OpenID == @"http://testuser.myopenid.com")).Returns(GetDummyUser()); }; protected static UserProfile GetDummyUser() { UserProfile p = new UserProfile(); p.OpenID = @"http://testuser.myopenid.com"; p.FirstName = "Joe"; p.LastLogin = DateTime.Now.Date.AddDays(-7); p.LastName = "Bloggs"; p.Email = "[email protected]"; return p; } } I run into trouble because it's not enjoying the Linq expression: System.NotSupportedException: Expression up = (up.OpenID = "http://testuser.myopenid.com") is not supported. So how does one test these sorts of scenarios?

  • iphone cannot rotate views in TabBar controller

    - by Luc
    Hello, I am working on an application that consists of a TabBar controller. Within on of its tab, I have a subclass of UITableViewController, within this list I have a Core-plot graph in the first cell and some other data in the 4 following cells. When I return YES in the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method, I would expect the autoresizing of the list view to happen, but... nothing. When I add some log in the willRotateToInterfaceOrientation method, they are not displayed. Is there something I missed ? I'm trying to get a global hotkey working in Linux using Mono. I found the signatures of XGrabKey and XUngrabKey, but I can't seem to get them working. Whenever I try to invoke XGrabKey, the application crashes with a SIGSEGV. This is what I have so far: using System; using Gtk; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; namespace GTKTest { class MainClass { const int GrabModeAsync = 1; public static void Main(string[] args) { Application.Init(); MainWindow win = new MainWindow(); win.Show(); // Crashes here XGrabKey( win.Display.Handle, (int)Gdk.Key.A, (uint)KeyMasks.ShiftMask, win.Handle, true, GrabModeAsync, GrabModeAsync); Application.Run(); XUngrabKey( win.Display.Handle, (int)Gdk.Key.A, (uint)KeyMasks.ShiftMask, win.Handle); } [DllImport("libX11")] internal static extern int XGrabKey( IntPtr display, int keycode, uint modifiers, IntPtr grab_window, bool owner_events, int pointer_mode, int keyboard_mode); [DllImport("libX11")] internal static extern int XUngrabKey( IntPtr display, int keycode, uint modifiers, IntPtr grab_window); } public enum KeyMasks { ShiftMask = (1 << 0), LockMask = (1 << 1), ControlMask = (1 << 2), Mod1Mask = (1 << 3), Mod2Mask = (1 << 4), Mod3Mask = (1 << 5), Mod4Mask = (1 << 6), Mod5Mask = (1 << 7) } } Does anyone have a working example of XGrabKey? Thanks!

  • Why doesn't every class in the .Net framework have a corresponding interface?

    - by Thorsten Lorenz
    Since I started to develop in a test/behavior driven style, I appreciated the ability to mock out every dependency. Since mocking frameworks like Moq work best when told to mock an interface, I now implement an interface for almost every class I create b/c most likely I will have to mock it out in a test eventually. Well, and programming to an interface is good practice, anyways. At times, my classes take dependencies on .Net classes (e.g. FileSystemWatcher, DispatcherTimer). It would be great in that case to have an interface, so I could depend on an IDispatcherTimer instead, to be able to pass it a mock and simulate its behavior to see if my system under test reacts correctly. Unfortunately both of above mentioned classes do not implement such interfaces, so I have to resort to creating adapters, that do nothing else but inherit from the original class and conform to an interface, that I then can use. Here is such an adapter for the DispatcherTimer and the corresponding interface: using System; using System.Windows.Threading; public interface IDispatcherTimer { #region Events event EventHandler Tick; #endregion #region Properties Dispatcher Dispatcher { get; } TimeSpan Interval { get; set; } bool IsEnabled { get; set; } object Tag { get; set; } #endregion #region Public Methods void Start(); void Stop(); #endregion } /// <summary> /// Adapts the DispatcherTimer class to implement the <see cref="IDispatcherTimer"/> interface. /// </summary> public class DispatcherTimerAdapter : DispatcherTimer, IDispatcherTimer { } Although this is not the end of the world, I wonder, why the .Net developers didn't take the minute to make their classes implement these interfaces from the get go. It puzzles me especially since now there is a big push for good practices from inside Microsoft. Does anyone have any (maybe inside) information why this contradiction exists?

  • Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validation Attribute

    - by Gabe G
    Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG. What am I misssing?

  • toggling proximity sensor on iPhone loses an event

    - by slugolicious
    I'm using setProximitySensingEnabled and implemented proximityStateChanged in my UIApplication subclass. It looks like if sensing is toggled, that the first "off" event is being lost. My UIApplication class is pretty basic... -(void)proximityStateChanged:(BOOL)state { NSLog(state ? @"ON" : @"OFF"); } In my application delegate, I have a UISwitch that enables/disables the proximity sensor. -(IBAction)toggleProxy:(id)sender { [UIApplication sharedApplication].proximitySensingEnabled = prox.on; } "prox" is my UISwitch. The test works fine when it first starts. I tap the switch to turn it on and then put my hand over the sensor for a second then move it away and get: 2009-03-11 12:43:00.465 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:02.514 Proximity[324:20b] OFF 2009-03-11 12:43:04.046 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:05.621 Proximity[324:20b] OFF I then tap the switch to turn it off then tap again to turn it on. Now I get: 2009-03-11 12:43:12.005 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:14.789 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:16.467 Proximity[324:20b] OFF 2009-03-11 12:43:17.516 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:19.077 Proximity[324:20b] OFF Notice I get two ON's before an OFF. The OFF is lost somewhere. I can't replicate this behavior using Google's mobile app so I'm wondering if they're resetting something in between proximity enabling. They don't have the proximity sensor on all the time because if you cover the sensor, the screen doesn't go blank. You have to tilt the phone up and angle it back (to simulate the position it would be in at your ear) and then covering the sensor works. Anyone else playing with the sensor? In my particular app, I'm recording a voice message and when you move the phone away from your ear, I want to pause the recording (when I get an OFF). The first time I move the phone away from my ear, the recording is not paused. However, if I put it to my ear and move it away again, it is paused.
