  • jQuery sequence

    - by Happy
    $(".item").each(function(){ var item_link = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); $(this).prepend('<div class="img_url"></div>'); var img_url = $('div.img_url', this); $.get(item_link, function(data) { var src = $('.poster img', data).attr('src'); img_url.html(src); }); }); Each .get should be started after the previous is finished. Now all the .get start in one time. Any idea?

  • Selecting a link with jQuery

    - by user201140
    I want to be able to search for a substring inside the href's in the below code and select the link AFTER the selected string. So, for example the string "page=2" would access the third link. Thanks in advance. <div id="container"> <a href='test.php?page=1&title=a title'><a title</a> <a href='test.php?page=2&title=another title'><another title</a> <a href='test.php?page=3&title=a last title'><a last title</a> </div>

  • How to remember last state with Jquery?

    - by AR
    I have a menu with submenus that can be toggled (hide/show type deal). Is there a relatively easy way to remember last state of the menu? (I hide/show submenu when clicking on a header and change a style of the header so the background arrow will change (up/down)). It works fine, but I'd like it to remember last state, so when user goes to another page on the site and gets back, the menu shows the same way as user left it. I'm not really good with cookies so any help will be appreciated. Yeah, menu is generated dynamically from the db using PHP. There are now only 2 headers with submenus, but there will be more so I'd need some method that's "scalable" for any number of submenus. There is also no need to remember it for longer then one visit. Current url is this: http://valleyofgeysers.com/geysers.php

  • jquery ui - making dialogs more "dynamic" ?

    - by mike
    Hello, I have a page that uses multiple dialogs for different things. Some dialogs may have buttons that others do not while other may need to be a different height than another... All of them have a set of params that will not change. My question, can I have a default like: $('.someElement').dialog({ width: 999, show: 'slide', hide: 'slide', ETC: 'some other option' }); and use it for all of my dialogs, then pass buttons or height to it dynamically when I open a dialog? It just seems wrong to have something like the above for every dialog I need... Thanks!

  • jQuery get attribute

    - by Happy
    There are many class="item" blocks on the page. For each one there is different var item_link and ajax request. Ajax searches for src attribute of .message img and throws it to var src. $(".item").each(function(){ var item_link = "http://..."; $(this).prepend('<div class="src"></div>'); $.get(item_link, function(data) { var src = $('.message img', data).attr('src'); }); }); How to print var src to <div class="src"></div>? Thanks.

  • Does .live() binding work for jQuery in IE7?

    - by Steve
    Hi everyone, I have a piece of javascript which is supposed to latch onto a form which gets introduced via XHR. It looks something like: $(document).ready(function() { $('#myform').live('submit', function() { $(foo).appendTo('#myform'); $(this).ajaxSubmit(function() { alert("HelloWorld"); }); return false; }); }); This happens to work in FF3, but not in IE7. Any idea what the problem is?

  • Adding form inputs in javascript (jquery)

    - by matthewsteiner
    I understand that you do something like: $('form').append('<input type="text" name="color-1" value="Hello" />'); But I have two questions about it. First off, I don't want it added to the end of the form, but after the last input in the "color" section. Secondly, where "name=color-1", I need the one to increment if they want to add more than one input, you know? So that I can process it on the server. Any ideas?

  • Issue in alternate Row color using each() method of JQuery

    - by user1323981
    I have a table as under <table > <tr> <th scope="col">EmpId</th><th scope="col">EmpName</th> </tr> <tr> <td>1</td><td>ABC</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2</td><td>DEF</td> </tr> </table> I want to set the alternate row color of only the "td" elements of the table and not "th" by using only each() function. I have tried with <style type="text/css"> tr.even { background-color: green; } tr.odd { background-color: yellow; } </style> $(document).ready(function () { $('table > tbody').each(function () { $('tr:odd', this).addClass('odd').removeClass('even'); $('tr:even', this).addClass('even').removeClass('odd'); }); }); Though this works but it accepts also "th" element. How to avoid that? Please help Thanks

  • Unable to execute functions on elements loaded with AJAX (jQuery)

    - by Jason
    i am using .prepend() to load data after i POST a form with .ajax(). once the new elements are added, my functions won't work on them. if i link the js file directly in the prepended data, the functions work, but when i POST, i starts multiplying the events. i have a feeling it has something to do with binding, but i am not able to figure out exactly how to handle it. any ideas? thanks!

  • Jquery plugin for getting changes in textarea and sending them to server

    - by user763410
    I am getting a file "abc.txt" from server and dispaying it in a text area for editing. <div id="filecontents"> <textarea> CONTENTS OF FILE LARGER THAN 10KB </textarea> </div> The contents of the file are potentially large. The user will edit the textarea and add/delete text from any part(not just the end). I want to send ONLY the changes to the server for patching. How do I accomplish this?. Is there a javascript version of the popular linux command(diff). John Resig's diff code may not work as, for me, it will involve additional parsing on server side. Thanks!

  • jquery this and other elements

    - by odavy
    OK, going rond in circles again - I'm sure the answer will be obvious. Just not to me :) I can't seem to specify this as one target amongst a few targets for a function: $(this, "elem1, elem2").doStuff() I just want to doStuff() to a pair of elements, one of which is this. I can only get it to work if I explicitly name the elements, ie... $("elem1, elem2, elem3").doStuff() ...works fine. But I can't seem to get it to work if I want to include this in the list. I have to write one line just for this, and another for elem1 elem2 etc. All help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
