    When you first make a connection to the new LocalDB edition of SQL Server Express, the system files, etc. that are required for a new version are spun up. (The system files such as the master database files, etc. end up in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\LocalDBApp1) That can take a while on a slower machine, so this means that the default connection timeout of 30 seconds (in most client libraries) could be exceeded. Depending somewhat on the version and edition of SQL Server you've installed, you may be able to increase performance by tinkering with the readahead performance for the redo operations.     am using ubuntu 12.04 and am trying to install pcre however I encountered an error message when I tried to use the command: sudo make after the ./configure command.     In a prior post I expressed my dismay that apparently Operations Manager (which I dig in other respects) has no love for SQL Server storage that uses mount points. Herewith, henceforth, forthwith is a PowerShell workaround I am using until I find out I am wrong, or there’s a management pack fix.
