I'm looking for a Linux gnome widget that can display data from a nearby Weather Undergound station. Does anybody know of something like that? I can program if needed. Thanks!
I'm querying a webserver for RequestsTotal and RequestsPerSec:
Select * from Win32_PerfRawData_ASPNET_ASPNETApplications
The server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 and I'm querying it from my Windows 7 workstation using a C# program.
My problem is that both RequestsPerSec and RequestsTotal show the same value.
Running perfmon on that server and selecting the counters there shows the correct values.
I can not access Contol panel in my windows vista machine.
As soon as i click the "conrol panel" item in start items, it shows up a window and then its closed automatically ( same happens if i use "control" command).
Is there some program or some registry entry thats restricting it? is ther a way to control this behaviour?
I am writing a program that needs to be able to detect the presence of various web hosting control panels. I don't use Plesk, or have access to a server running Plesk, so I am unable to ascertain what file or directory I could test for to reliably conclude that the system is running Plesk.
What file or directory indicates "Yes, this has Plesk installed" that is unlikely to ever change in the future, but would be present on all versions of Plesk out in the wild?
Thanks in advance :)
I have a file share, and I want a process which enumerates files on that share and automatically creates a 7z self-extracting exe of files over 1 month old. On a different share, I want to create a 7z self-extracting exe of directories that are over 1 month old. Any idea if there is a program which can do this? I already have
7z a -t7z -mx9 -sfx filename.exe filename.txt
Portion of it, just need more of the auto-management portion.
Whenever I start up Outlook it pops up a dialog asking if I want to connect to the Exchange server or work offline, or just quit the program. If I don't respond Outlook doesn't continue starting up.
Is there any way I tell Outlook not to bring up this dialog box, but just connect by default?
so.. I esely can broadcast my web cam with VLC using command lines like this (I use Windows)
"C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -vvv -I --dshow-vdev="Logitech QuickCam Express / Go" dshow:// --sout
When I paste command into CMD and hit enter it starts streaming (all is fine - I can play it)
How can I now for example add brightness or any other filter to that stream from CMD?
Is there a 64bit version of SQL Server 2008 Management Studio?
I downloaded the 32bit/64bit version of SQL 2008 Developer R2 and it still installed into the Program Files (x86)\ file location.
Am using ROXIO
1. to copy DVD file to my computer
2. to trim a section of the video
3. to convert the file to wmv and this is where Windows Vista gives the message that the program cannot continue.
4. I have followed all of the instructions from ROXIO support to clean my system and do a new install.
It still does not work
Anybody know how to resolve the problem?
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent windows 7 to go to sleep while using Spotify?
I have read the answers in this question but if it's possible I'd rather not resort to start a third party program like insomnia every time I want to listen to music.
So are there a setting or a registry entry buried somewhere deep in windows that allows you to do this? Either for a group like "all audio" or for specific programs?
Im converting lots of .doc files into .pdf using Nitro PDF Express. The program isn't finish converting the 37 files yet maybe 10 are converted and are in the output directory already.
But when I cancelled it, even the converted one's are deleted. Can I still find it somewhere or are they gone for good.
I have an iPad app that shows some good picture, and I want to transfer some pictures to the PC so I can send them by email to other people. Is there a way to capture the screen and save it as PNG or JPG?
Otherwise, is the only way to install an iPad SDK (software development kit) so that you have a virtual iPad on the computer and run the app, and then use screen capture program on the PC to do the capture?
I have a promotional DVD from a client, and they want to put clips from it on their website.
I'm in a Windows environment, so I'm looking for a decent video editor program, free would be preferred. Then I guess I'd have some kind of flash-based player to embed in the website...
What do you recommend?
I open a command prompt window in XP. There I run a command line program (foo.exe) and I want to capture stdout in a file. So I run it like this:
foo fooResult.txt
However, at the same time I would like stdout to still be fed to the screen of the command prompt window. What is the syntax for that?
As implied by the title, does anybody know how to use the gimp-console-[version].exe program to batch convert images between formats (with default settings) in Windows ?
An old junk mail filter program I used to use created a junk email folder. When I moved from Outlook 2003 to 2007, Outlook created a new folder called Junk Email1. Now, after our move to a new Exchange server, I now have a "Junk Email" folder and the existing "Junk Email1" folder. Is there a way to change the default Outlook Junk Email folder back to "Junk Email"?
Working on Vista & Window 7, I use Winamp 5.57 for listening to mp3 and VLC player for watching movies. I made those two as my default players for corresponding media respectively. But when I launch winamp for playing mp3, some of the video files( like .flv, etc.,) automatically get changed the file opening mode to winamp player. This happens every time even if I set it back to 'default program'. Can someone please help me out.
I am looking for the cleanest way on linux to find the port status for a port being used by a specified program name via the command line. I have seen that netstat -p lists all pids but haven't seen anything corresponding to specific process names. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm looking for a program that can:
1) index specific folders and capture video, music and picture files.
2) allow me to assign tags or categories to these files
3) allow me to search by tags or filenames
I have a large collection of movies, music, etc that I want to categorise and tag with multiple tags.
Haven't yet been able to find any applications that will do this for me.
Device manager shows that device is properly installed:
High Definition Audio Device
Device type: Sound, video and game controllers
Manufacter: Microsoft
Location: Location 0 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)
But every program trying to play sound reports that devicce is unavailable. In Windows XP it works properly.
I have two internet connections - one via a 3G modem, and the other via wireless. The modem is faster so I normally browse with it, but it does not support torrent downloads while my wireless does. When the two are connected, my PC automatically makes every connection through the modem.
Is there a way I can force a particular program, eg. uTorrent to browse through my wireless internet connection instead?
Thanks.
I am looking for Windows based backup software with functionality like Zmanda or other multi-platform network backup software program. Open source or free software is always preferred.
We need to be able to backup files from linux and windows servers as well as MySQL databases. Using samba is completely possible. Software needs to run on Windows Server 2003.
Cygwin/X and Xming can run in "rootless" mode that seamlessly integrates "inner" windows to the host environment.
Is there similar mode for Xephyr or some equivalent program? I want Xephyred windows to be like usual windows, but without ability to lock screen or generate keystrokes or mess with other windows.
When running WinDirStat against a drive, I'd like the option to save the report so that I can look at it later while "offline" away from the system it was run on.
I've looked around the program and can't see this option. Am I missing something, can this be done with WinDirStat?
If it can't be done, is there a way similar to WinDirStat that will allow me to save the results of a drive space scan to delve into them at a later date?
