• passing array of structs from c# to regular dll

  Hi there I have a regular dll with the followign fucntion exported. extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) int FindNearestStuff(double _latitude, double _longitude , LocationStruct * locations[]) LocationStruct is very simple struct LocationStruct { long positionIndex; long item; }; I'm tryign to call it from c# using [DllImport("myclever.dll", CharSet = CharSet.None)] private static extern int FindNearestStuff(double _latitude, double _longitude, ref LocationStruct [] locations); Its all cool and funky and i can step into the dll function from the debugger. Inside the dll the LocationStruct array is populated correctly and all is very good. the problem i have is when it returns back from the dll, the LocationStruct array is not coming back with the data - just empty values... what am i missing? cheers Buzz

I want to keep the dark background, but I want to create a small border with a slightly different color around my postings. • SQL Server INSERT ... SELECT Statement won't parse

  I am getting the following error message with SQL Server 2005 Msg 120, Level 15, State 1, Procedure usp_AttributeActivitiesForDateRange, Line 18 The select list for the INSERT statement contains fewer items than the insert list. The number of SELECT values must match the number of INSERT columns. I have copy and pasted the select list and insert list into excel and verified there are the same number of items in each list. Both tables an additional primary key field with is not listed in either the insert statement or select list. I am not sure if that is relevant, but suspicious it may be.   How would you share the same object between two other objects? • HTML + CSS: fixed background image and body width/min-width (including fiddle)

  So, here is my problem. I'm kinda stuck at the moment. I have a huge background image and content in the middle with those attributes: content is centered with margin auto and has a fixed width the content is related to the image (like the image is continued within the content) this relation is only horizontally (vertically scrolling moves everything around) This works actually fine (I'm only talking desktop, not mobile here :) ) with a position fixed on the huge background image. The problem that occurs is the following: When I resize the window to "smaller than the content" the background image gets it width from the body instead of the viewport. So the relation between content and image gets lost. Now I have this little JavaScript which does the trick, but this is of course some overhead I want to avoid: $(window).resize(function(){ img.css('left', (body.width() - img.width()) / 2 ); }); This works with a fixed positioned image, but can get a litty jumpy while calculating. I also tried things like that: <div id="test" style=" position: absolute; z-index: 0; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%: height: 100%; background: transparent url(content/dummy/brand_backgroud_1600_1.jpg) no-repeat fixed center top; "></div> But this gets me back to my problem described. Is there any "script-less", elegant solution for this problem? • How do you get the viewport scale after pinch/zoom on an iPhone web app?

  Does anyone know how to get the size in pixels or scale value of the viewport after a user has pinched or double tapped to zoom in/out on a page in JavaScript? I've tried using window.innerWidth but I've had mixed results. Sometimes it seems to accurately give the number of pixels the viewport is showing, however, if I zoom way in on a page and then do a large pinch to zoom back out, window.innerWidth will be around 600-700 even though it is only showing ~200px of the page. The page is only 400px wide and it didn't show the checkered "you've gone too far" background you see when you zoom out beyond the page size. If I do small pinches to zoom in and out, window.innerWidth appears to work just fine. Unfortunately I can't rely on a user only making small pinch gestures :) I've also tried to use the scale property on the gesture event object, but I've found that unreliable because you don't always know the initial scale when you reload the page or use back/forward buttons to navigate to it even when using the meta tag to specify it. Ultimately, I'm trying to make an app that is aware of when a user is trying to zoom out beyond the maximum zoom level so if there is another way to do this I'm interested in hearing about it :) Here's the code I'm using to get the innerWidth: document.body.addEventListener('gestureend', function (evt) { console.log(window.innerWidth); // inaccurate when doing large pinch gestures }, false); Thanks!

• Passing an Ajax variable to a Codeigniter function

  Hello, I think this is a simple one. I have a Codeigniter function which takes the inputs from a form and inserts them into a database. I want to Ajaxify the process. At the moment the first line of the function gets the id field from the form - I need to change this to get the id field from the Ajax post (which references a hidden field in the form containing the necessary value) instead. How do I do this please? • Condition Variable in Shared Memory - is this code POSIX-conformant?

  We've been trying to use a mutex and condition variable to synchronise access to named shared memory on a LynuxWorks LynxOS-SE system (POSIX-conformant). One shared memory block is called "/sync" and contains the mutex and condition variable, the other is "/data" and contains the actual data we are syncing access to. We're seeing failures from pthread_cond_signal() if both processes don't perform the mmap() calls in exactly the same order, or if one process mmaps in some other piece of shared memory before it mmaps the sync memory. But change the open() function to mmap() the "/sync" memory first and it will all work fine. This seems like a major bug in LynxOS but LynuxWorks claim that using mutex and condition variable in this way is not covered by the POSIX standard, so they are not interested. Can anyone determine if this code does violate POSIX? Or does anyone have any convincing documentation that it is POSIX compliant?

I want to set a value for the same. • Delphi: Error when starting MCI

  I use the TMediaPlayer component for playing music. It works fine with most of my tracks. But it doesn't work with some tracks. When I want to play them, the following error message is shown: Which is German but roughly means that: In the project pMusicPlayer.exe an exception of the class EMCIDeviceError occurred. Message: "Error when starting MCI.". Process was stopped. Continue with "Single Command/Statement" or "Start". The program quits directly after calling the procedure "Play" of TMediaPlayer. This error occurred with the following file for example: file size: 7.40 MB duration: 4:02 minutes bitrate: 256 kBit/s I've encoded this file with a bitrate of 128 kBit/s and thus a file size of 3.70 MB: It works fine! What's wrong with the first file? Windows Media Player or other programs can play it without any problems. Is it possible that Delphi's TMediaPlayer cannot handle big files (e.g. 5 MB) or files with a high bitrate (e.g. 128 kBit/s)? What can I do to solve the problem?

  Why is it that for user defined types when creating an array of objects every element of this array is initialized with default ctor but when I create built-in type this isn't the case? And second question: is it possible to specify default value to be used while initialize? Something like this (not valid): char* p = new char[size]('\0'); And another question in this topic while I'm with arrays. I suppose that when creating an array of user defined type and knowing the fact that every elem. of this array will be initialized with default value firstly why? If arrays for built in types do not initialize their elems. with their dflts why do they do it for UDT, and secondly: is there a way to switch it off/avoid/circumvent somehow? It seems like bit of a waste if I for example have created an array with size 10000 and then 10000 times dflt ctor will be invoked and I will (later on) overwrite this values anyway. I think that behaviour should be consistent, so either every type of array should be initialized or none. And I think that the behaviour for built-in arrays is more appropriate.

I was thinking of using regular expressions, but I am not too great in writing them, and was wondering if someone could help me out. • design using a readonly class in c#

  Hi Small design question here. I'm trying to develop a calculation app in C#. I have a class, let's call it InputRecord, which holds 100s of fields (multi dimensional arrays) This InputRecordclass will be used in a number of CalculationEngines. Each CalculcationEngine can make changes to a number of fields in the InputRecord. These changes are steps needed for it's calculation. Now I don't want the local changes made to the InputRecord to be used in other CalculcationEngine's classes. The first solution that comes to mind is using a struct: these are value types. However I'd like to use inheritance: each CalculationEngine needs a few fields only relevant to that engine: it's has it's own InputRecord, based on BaseInputRecord. Can anyone point me to a design that will help me accomplish this?

I am just getting started with jQuery and have no idea how to fix this issue. Any assistance with altering the code so that it still works but doesn't throw up all of these errors (if I load the site and let it sit in my browser for 10 minutes I have over 10000 errors in the console) would be greatly appreciated!

• jQuery AJAX Redirection problem

  Hello please consider this: On page A I have a link that takes you to page B when JS is off, but when JS is on, I want to replace content on current page with content from the page B. Pages A and B are in fact the same script that is able to tell AJAX calls from regular ones and serve the content appropriately. Everything works fine, as long as there are no redirects involved. But, sometimes there is a 301 redirect and what seems to be happening is that client browser then makes a second request, which will return with a 200 OK. Only the second request is sent without a X-Requested-With header, therefore I cannot tell within my script wether it came from AJAX or not, and will send a complete page instead of just the content. I have tried checking for 301 status code in my error, success, and complete handlers but none of them worked. It seems to be handling the 301 behind the scenes. • Getting wierd issue with TO_NUMBER function in Oracle

  I have been getting an intermittent issue when executing to_number function in the where clause on a varchar2 column if number of records exceed a certain number n. I used n as there is no exact number of records on which it happens. On one DB it happens after n was 1 million on another when it was 0.1. million. E.g. I have a table with 10 million records say Table Country which has field1 varchar2 containing numberic data and Id If I do a query as an example select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 1 and id < 100000 This works But if i do the query select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 1 and id < 100001 It fails saying invalid number Next I try the query select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 2 and id < 100001 It works again As I only got invalid number it was confusing, but in the log file it said Memory Notification: Library Cache Object loaded into SGA Heap size 3823K exceeds notification threshold (2048K) KGL object name :with sqlplan as ( select c006 object_owner, c007 object_type,c008 object_name from htmldb_collections where COLLECTION_NAME='HTMLDB_QUERY_PLAN' and c007 in ('TABLE','INDEX','MATERIALIZED VIEW','INDEX (UNIQUE)')), ws_schemas as( select schema from wwv_flow_company_schemas where security_group_id = :flow_security_group_id), t as( select s.object_owner table_owner,s.object_name table_name, d.OBJECT_ID from sqlplan s,sys.dba_objects d It seems its related to SGA size, but google did not give me much help on this. Does anyone have any idea about this issue with TO_NUMBER or oracle functions for large data?

  Is there a way to get the defered type of a class template parameter ? template <class TPtr> struct foo { typedef TPtr ptr_type; typedef ??? element_type; /* shall be the type of a deferred TPtr*/ }; so foo<const char*>::element_type results in const char, and foo<std::vector<int>::iterator_type>::element_type results in int. i am aware of that i can use the value_type typedef for c++ iterators (like std::vector<int>::iterator_type::value_type), but raw pointers havent got a value_type typedef, so i am out of luck there.

I want to create the function prup which basically calls derp and ignores the (x,y) passed in. I need something like bool purp(int x, int y){ return derp(); } but want to avoid creating it as a member function, and rather just create it locally if possible?
