  • Scope of Derived Tables in SQL Server

    I've been looking into SQL recently and exploring a bit. in regards to Temp Tables I have discovered 3 different temp table types: 1) CREATE TABLE #TempTable 2) DECLARE TABLE @TempTable 3) SELECT * FROM (SELECT * FROM Customers) AS TempTable Now I understand the scope behind the #TempTable and the @TempTable types, but what about the derived table as in example 3? Where does this derived table get stored? and if it is declared in 1 transaction, can a 2nd transaction access it, or is the scoping of Derived Tables that same as example 1 and 2?

  • How do I create/use a Fluent NHibernate convention to map UInt32 properties to an SQL Server 2008 da

    I'm trying to use a convention to map UInt32 properties to a SQL Server 2008 database. I don't seem to be able to create a solution based on existing web sources, due to updates in the way Fluent NHibernate works - i.e. examples are out of date. Here's my code as it currently stands (which, when I try to expose the schema, fails due to SQL Server not supporting UInt32). Apologies for the code being a little long, but I'm not 100% sure what is relevant to the problem, so I'm erring on the side of caution. I think I'll need a relatively comprehensive example, as I don't seem to be able to pull the pieces together into a working solution, at present.     I would like to use Python's tempfile module to create a temporary file that I will use for communication between processes (use of pipes is awkward). The documentation I've linked to above shows two functions that almost do what I want: tempfile.NamedTemporaryFile # For creating named tempfiles tempfile.SpooledTemporaryFile # For creating tempfiles in memory but actually I want a tempfile that is both named AND in memory. Any ideas?

    I was using something like public int Test(System.Windows.Forms.ListBox.ObjectCollection Colecction) { } With this I want to pass just the ObjectCollection of the control, to sort, add and delete elements without passing the entire control, but someone told me that, this way of calling the collection, actualy, create an entire ListBox, making it a worst decition, than, passing a ListBox as a parameter. Is it true? An if, what's the best way of working whit the collection?

  • Ant: Create directory containing file if it doesn't already exist?

    Basically, I get a path like "C:\test\subfolder1\subfolder2\subfolder3\myfile.txt", but it's possible that subfolders 1-3 don't exist already, which means I'd get an exception if I try to write to the file. Is there a way to create the directory structure the target file is in, either by using some task that creates the structure when it outputs to the file and then deleting the file, or by parsing the directory part of the path and using the mkdir task first?   • Can I stop Uri from unencoding a url in WebRequest.Create?

    The code itself isn't complex, it's just not working properly: Uri uri = new Uri("https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/feeds/sites/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mydomain.co.uk%2F"); WebRequest.Create(uri); I get a "Bad Request" back from the server, and after much MUCH digging, discovered that the uri is being turned in to "https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/feeds/sites/http%3A//www.mydomain.co.uk/" which is not what I asked for, and so it's having a whinge Is there a way to stop this?
