Note that I had to refactor iterating over a list but am now applying a filter within the iteration.   Hi, I have a data structure which is as given below: class File { public string Value { get; set; } public File[] Dependencies { get; set; } public bool Change { get; private set; } public File(string value,File[] dependencies) { Value = value; Dependencies = dependencies; Change = false; } } Basically, this data structure follows a typical build execution of files. Each File has a value and a list of dependencies which is again of type File. Every file is exposed with a property called Change which tells whether the file is changed or not. I brainstormed to form a algorithm which goes through all these files and build in an order( i.e typical build process ) but haven't got a better algorithm. Can anyone throw some light on this?   I am starting to get a grip on RegEx thanks to all the great help here on SO with my other questions. But I am still suck on this one: My code is: StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(fDialog.FileName.ToString()); string content = reader.ReadToEnd(); reader.Close(); I am reading in a text file and I want to search for this text and change it (the X and Y value always follow each other in my text file): X17.8Y-1. But this text can also be X16.1Y2.3 (the values will always be different after X and Y) I want to change it to this X17.8Y-1.G54 or X(value)Y(value)G54 My RegEx statement follows but it is not working. content = Regex.Replace(content, @"(X(?:\d*\.)?\d+)*(Y(?:\d*\.)?\d+)", "$1$2G54"); Can someone please modify it for me so it works and will search for X(wildcard) Y(Wildcard) and replace it with X(value)Y(value)G54?

• Hiding flash component scrollbars using object/param syntax

  Hi all, I'm not sure if this is possible (complete non-flash developer speaking), but we have a 3rd party component that we want to only show a certain topleft hand portion of. I've tried limiting the size of the HTML object container as: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="415" data="<url>"> <param name="movie" value="<url>" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="flashvars" value="<vars>" /> </object> So limiting it to 600x415, but this causes horizontal and vertical scrollbars as part of the flash component to appear. Is there any standard way to override this behaviour? Thanks.

• Atomikos with Hibernate will exhaust db connections

  I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to instruct atomikos code to release connections after any transaction. • Overloading properties in C#

  Ok, I know that property overloading is not supported in C# - most of the references explain it by citing the single-method-different-returntype problem. However, what about setters? I'd like to directly assign a value as either a string or object, but only return as a string. Like this: public string FieldIdList { get { return fieldIdList.ToString(); } set { fieldIdList = new FieldIdList(value); } } public FieldIdList FieldIdList { set { fieldIdList = value; } } private FieldIdList fieldIdList; Why wouldn't this be allowed? I've also seen that "properties" simply create getter/setter functions on compile. Would it be possible to create my own? Something like: public void set_FieldIdList(FieldIdList value) { fieldIdList = value; } That would do the same thing. Thoughts?

  Una de las opciones que todo aplicación debería tener es el poder ponerse en modo OFFLINE para evitar el acceso de usuarios. Esto es completamente necesario cuando queremos realizar cambios a nuestra aplicación (cambiar algo, poner una actualización, etc) o a nuestra base de datos y evitarnos problemas con los usuarios que se encuentren logueados dentro de la aplicación en ese momento. Muchos ejemplos a través de la Web exponen la forma de realizar esta tarea utilizando dos técnicas: 1. La primera de ellas es utilizar el archivo App_Offline.htm sin embargo, esta técnica tiene un inconveniente. Y es que, una vez que hemos subido el archivo a nuestra aplicación esta se bloquea completamente y no tenemos forma de volver a ponerla ONLINE a menos que eliminemos el archivo. Es decir no podemos controlarla. 2. La segunda de ellas es el utilizar la etiqueta httpRuntime, pero nuevamente tenemos el mismo problema. Al habilitar el modo OFFLINE mediante esta etiqueta, tampoco podremos acceder a un modo de administración para cambiarla. Un ejemplo de la etiqueta httpRuntime <configuration> <system.web> <httpRuntime enable="false" /> </system.web> </configuration>   Tomando en cuenta lo anterior, lo mas optimo seria que podamos por medio de alguna pagina de administración colocar nuestro sitio en modo OFFLINE, pero manteniendo el acceso a la pagina de administración para poder volver a cambiar el valor que pondrá nuestra aplicación nuevamente en modo ONLINE. Para ello, utilizaremos el web.config de nuestra aplicación y una pequeña clase que se encargara de Leer y escribir los valores. Lo primero será, abrir nuestro web.config y definir dentro del appSettings dos nuevas KEY que contendrán los valores para el modo OFFLINE de nuestra aplicación: <appSettings> <add key="IsOffline" value="false" /> <add key="IsOfflineMessage" value="Sistema temporalmente no disponible por tareas de mantenimiento." /> </appSettings>   En las KEY anteriores tenemos el IsOffLine con value de false, esto es para indicarle a nuestra aplicación que actualmente su modo de funcionamiento es ONLINE, este valor será el que posteriormente cambiemos a TRUE para volver al modo OFFLINE. Nuestra segunda KEY (IsOfflineMessage) posee el value (Sistema temporalmente….) que será mostrado al usuario como un mensaje cuando el sitio este en modo OFFLINE. Una vez definidas nuestras dos KEY en el web.config, escribiremos una clase personalizada para leer y escribir los valores. Así que, agregamos un nuevo elemento de tipo clase al proyecto llamado SettingsRules y la definimos como Public.   In my app, I have defined a custom field to represent a physical quantity using the quantities package. class AmountField(models.CharField): def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): ... def to_python(self, value): create_quantities_value(value) Essentially the way it works is it extends CharField to store the value as a string in the database "12 min" and represents it as a quantities object when using the field in a model array(12) * min Then in a model it is used as such: class MyModel(models.Model): group = models.CharField() amount = AmountField() class Meta: ordering = ['group', 'amount'] My issue is that these fields do not seem to sort by the quantity, but instead by the string. So if I have some objects that contain something like {"group":"A", "amount":"12 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"2 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"1 hr"} they end up sorted something like this: >>> MyModel.objects.all() [{A, 12 min}, {A, 2 min}, {A, 20 min}, {B, 1 hr}, {B, 20 min}] essentially alphabetical order. Can I give my custom AmountField a comparison function so that it will compare by the python value instead of the DB value?

Obviously the series of post  that I wrote will not work in this case because the price field in those examples are Label (read-only) and not TextBox fields. In this post I'm going to demonstrate how to accomplish this using the same method used in my previous examples. Basically I'm just going to modify the GridView declaration and replace the Label price field with a TextBox so that users can type on it. And finally modify the CalculateTotals() javascript function.   I'm using Richfaces jsf and I want to iterate over an Map<Object,Object>. I see many examples on sun forums and other sites but in my case it doesn't work ! here is my xhtml code : <c:forEach items="#{order.customOptions}" var="option"> <h:outputText value="this text does not print"/> <h:outputText value="#{option.value.name}" /> <h:outputText value="#{option.value.key}" /> </c:forEach> and the "order" object is of type "Order". "customOptios" is of type Map<CustomOption,CustomOptionValue> and when I create an javascript alert on to print '#{order.customeOptions}' it's content is true. but it's not even enter in c:forEach loop. please heeeeelp me :(

When I try to pass it (with propertyChangeListener) to my backing bean I get null instead of the real value of the parameter: <h:commandButton value="#{msg['mail.send']}" styleClass="mailbutton" action="#{mailSender.sendMail}"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{mailSender.controllerName}" value="{#param.controller}"/> </h:commandButton> So, I have two questions: What is the proper way to set bean property with a get-parameter value? Actually, I've already get the value from ExternalContext#getRequestParam but maybe there are some other solutions. More interesting question: why propertyActionListener didn't work here? What does it do actually? (again I have some thoughts about it but it would be nice to read more comprehensive explanations).

• Wireless internet connection connects but internet does not work (no packets received). Wired does.

  When I connect my PC via ethernet cable to my ADSL router it works fine. When I connect via Wireless it connects and the internet will work for a random amount of time and then stop working. It stays connected with a strong signal but no packets are received. My laptop/iphone are right next to it and wireless works fine. If I open the Wireless USB status, it says it is connected to my SSID with full strength (54 mps - I am 3 meteres away from my router) and the activty shows as Packets 594 SENT and 105 RECEIVED (this goes up VERY slowly) I have tried the following: Turned off anitvirus and firewall completely. Tested the wifi signal- I am writing this on my laptop which is next to my PC and also has full wifi strength. Tried a different wireless adapter - I dug out an old PCI wireless card - it does the exact same thing. Compared all wireless settings to my laptop. I can ping google.com and it replies (sometimes with packet loss) When I reboot the PC it will connect for a minute or two (random time) and then just stops again. I tried Firefox, IE etc. no joy I have updated all latest versions (Netgear WG111v2) and drivers Checked Event Log - nothing unusual Ping the router (and even connect as admin for the few minutes when the internet does work) Changed the MTU down to 1200 using DrTCP Checked Device Manager for conflicts - none. I ping the router from the PC (192.168.0.10 - 192.168.0.1) and it replies with 4 packets. BUT, on my router admin page (which I access via http on my laptop wirelessly) - if I ping 192.168.0.10 all packets timeout (pinging my laptop 192.168.0.12 works fine) My router admin page shows the leased IP address for 192.168.0.10 (ie it is definitely talking to the router initially) Now I am out of ideas - please help. I think it is an OS/Software issue as I have tried 2 different wireless adapaters (PCI and USB) with the same result but all other wireless devices work fine around mine). It's not the firewall. It is getting assigned an IP address correctly (my PC gets 192.168.0.10, my laptop is .12) It is assigned by DHCP. As soon as I plug in the ethernet cable it all works fine. Repairing the adapter sometimes helps but it will always stop working after a random time. The wireless adapter always shows as connected with Excellent signal but the internet does not work. I am running Windows XP SP3 and have tried a Netgear WG111v2 USB adapter. Thanks in advance! UPDATE: The internet seems to be working, it is just either sending packets too small or slow to work (some small pages load bits of them very slowly but then hang). • Django-South introspection rule doesn't work.

  I'm using Django 1.2.3 and South 0.7.3. I am trying to convert my app (named core) to use Django-South. I have a custom model/field that I'm using, named ImageWithThumbsField. It's basically just the ol' django.db.models.ImageField with some attributes such as height, weight, etc. While trying to ./manage.py convert_to_auth core I receieve South's freezing errors. I have no idea why, I'm Probably missing something...
