  I loaded 83 rows from my CSV file, but when I try to update the SQLite database I get 0 rows... I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. • Problems to export java home and to find or create .bashrc in Mac OS X 10.6

  Hello, I need to install a program for my studies and, this program, need java to run. When I try to perform the installation say that cannot find the JDK; since the JDK is already installed by default in mac, the problem is export the java home. I´ve try a lot and I cant do it! I know that I have to add a line in a .bashrc file (or .profile, or .bash_profile) I´ve created all those files, at different times but nothing... I´m a new mac user, but I use Linux too and I dont know what happened, I just need to export java home to perform my work... and is really necessary for me to add environment variables too.   The translation tool isn't able to translate this working code. • Can't change pivot table's Access data source - bug in Excel 2000 SP3?

  I have a set of Excel 2000 SP3 worksheets that have Pivot Tables that get data from an Access 2000 SP3 database created by a contractor who left our company. Unfortunately, he did all his work on his private area on the company (Novell) network and now that he has left us, the drive spec has been deleted and is invalid. We were able to get the database files restored to our network area by our IT Service Desk people, but we now have to re-link everything to point to our group area instead of the now-nonexistent private area. If I follow the advice given elsewhere on this site (open wizard, click 'Back' to get to 'Step 2 of 3', click 'Get Data...' I get a message that the old filespec is an invalid path and I need to check that the path name is invalid and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I then click on OK and get a Login dialog with a 'Database...' button on the right. I click this and get a 'Select Database' dialog which allows me to choose the appropriate database in its correct new location. I then click OK, which takes me back to the 'Login' screen. I can confirm that it has accepted my new location by clicking on 'Database...' as before and the NEW location is still shown. So far so good - but if I then click on OK I get two unhelpful messages - first I get one saying that Excel 'Could not use '|'; file already in use.' - although no other files are in use. Clicking on OK takes me back to the 'Login' dialog. Clicking OK again gives me the same message as before telling me that the OLD filespec is invalid (as if I hadn't changed anything) - but clicking on the 'Database...' button shows that the correct (NEW) database location is still selected. Can anyone tell me a way of using VBA to change the link information without having to spend hours fighting the PivotTable Wizard - preferably similar to this way you update an Access Tabledef:- db.TableDefs(strLinkName).Connect = strNewLink db.TableDefs(strLinkName).RefreshLink Thanks!

• Apache Tomcat under Windows: Changing webapps default directory

  I am deploying my Java application with Ant. Unfortunately my test deployment on the local machine doesn't work because of Vista. The Program Files directionaries are protected and i don't want to start Ant or Eclipse as an Admin. So i had the idea to move my webapps folder to a workspace subfolder, so i can use relative paths in Ant as well. The solutions seems to be to modify the Host element in the server.xml. With Linux it isn't such a deal: <Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false"> But with Windows i don't get it right. • Retrieving image from database using Ajax

  I'm trying to read image from database with Ajax, but I could not read the xmlhttp.responseText to the img src. The image is saved as binary data in database and also retrieved as binary data. I'm using Ajax in JSP, because I want to give the user the ability to upload images and I will view the last uploaded image, on mouse over action the Ajax will be activated and get the image back, the problem is in reading the img from the response. • Problem with copying local data onto HDFS on a Hadoop cluster using Amazon EC2/ S3.

  Hi, I have setup a Hadoop cluster containing 5 nodes on Amazon EC2. Now, when i login into the Master node and submit the following command bin/hadoop jar <program>.jar <arg1> <arg2> <path/to/input/file/on/S3> It throws the following errors (not at the same time.) The first error is thrown when i don't replace the slashes with '%2F' and the second is thrown when i replace them with '%2F': 1) Java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid hostname in URI S3://<ID>:<SECRETKEY>@<BUCKET>/<path-to-inputfile> 2) org.apache.hadoop.fs.S3.S3Exception: org.jets3t.service.S3ServiceException: S3 PUT failed for '/' XML Error Message: The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. check your key and signing method. Note: 1)when i submitted jps to see what tasks were running on the Master, it just showed 1116 NameNode 1699 Jps 1180 JobTracker leaving DataNode and TaskTracker. 2)My Secret key contains two '/' (forward slashes). And i replace them with '%2F' in the S3 URI. PS: The program runs fine on EC2 when run on a single node. Its only when i launch a cluster, i run into issues related to copying data to/from S3 from/to HDFS. And, what does distcp do? Do i need to distribute the data even after i copy the data from S3 to HDFS?(I thought, HDFS took care of that internally) IF you could direct me to a link that explains running Map/reduce programs on a hadoop cluster using Amazon EC2/S3. • Apple Script error: Can't get Folder

  I started using apple script today, because I wanted to be able to automatically send files to someone when they go into a specific folder. I first tried with automator, but the files were never attached into emails, so i figured i could try with apple script. At first, I tried simply create an email with an attached file. The email was created, but the file was not attached. After a while, I stumbled onto this post that was trying to list files from a folder, so I tried that just to compare it to my code. It gave me an error telling me it is impossible to list files from that folder. So I tried setting a path to a specific folder, and I got an error saying the path can't be made. This is the code I used for the last part: tell application "Finder" set folderPath to folder "Macintosh HD: Users:Jonathan:Desktop:Send_Mail" set fileList to name of every file in folderPath end tell and this is the error I got. error "Finder got an error: Can’t get folder \"Macintosh HD: Users:Jonathan:Desktop:Send_Mail\"." number -1728 from folder "Macintosh HD: Users:Jonathan:Desktop:Send_Mail". I later tried with another folder, and I always get this error, even when using the Users folder for example. Any Suggestions? thanks

• Load Images in WPF application

  I am not familiar with WPF, and I just feel quite confusing. I am trying to create a little computer game, and there are elements I want to display dynamically. I use Image class and add the images to a canvas. But I'm not sure whether it's a good practice. I feel that adding controls to canvas seem to be a little wired. And I'm a little concerned about the performance, because I may need many images. The real problem is, I can't load the images from the image files. I see an example in a text book like this (XMAL): <Image Panel.ZIndex="0" Margin="0,0,0,0" Name ="image1"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="Bell.gif" /> </Image.Source> </Image> Where Bell.gif is added into the project. And I tried to copy this in code to create an image. new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("Blockade.bmp"))} But I got invalid Uri exception. After some search in the Internet, I found that loading resources dynamically seems to be difficult. Can I load the files added to the project dynamically? If I use absolute path then it's OK. But I can't expect every computer will put the files in the same location. Can I use relative path? I tried new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"Pictures\Blank Land.bmp", UriKind.Relative)) } But it doesn't work. (The image is blank) Thanks.

  Hi Everyone, I'm having difficulties in creating a connection from my SQL Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 x64 into the Oracle database 10g even though I have already install the Oracle Client 11g R2 ? I've followed this article from steps URL: http://www.ideaexcursion.com/2009/01/05/connecting-to-oracle-from-sql-server/ plus added: TNS_ADMIN into the Server variables which point into: C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin what is working now: TNSNAMES.ORA has been copied successfully from the other Developer wworkstation i can TNSPING into the DB instance i can connect to the database using SQLplus and perform any SQL commands i can create the DSN ONLY when using "[b]C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe[/b]" the normal odbcad32 doesn't show my DSN that I have just created ? the DSN created from the above works fine from the test connection. my goal: To be able to select the Oracle connection in the Linked server object but still no effect after I restart the server. (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 64 bit SP2). Any idea please in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

• How to dispatch a new property value in an object to the same property of two other objects

  In WPF, I've three objects exposing the same DependencyProperty (let's say it's an integer). I want all three property values to remain synchronized, i.e. that whenever the int value changes in an object, this value is propagated to the two other objects. I think of multibinding to do the job, but I don't know how to detect which object changed, thus which value should be used and propagated to the other objects. I understand I could solve the problem by creating an X_Changed event in the 3 types and then have each object registering to the two other objects event. I don't like this "manual" way and would prefer to bind the 3 properties together.

• Running multiple instances of tomcat in eclipse WTP

  Hey, SCENARIO: 10 CATALINA_BASEs with own configuration (always the same port numbers 8080, but 10 different IP/hostnames on one host via virtual IPs). created a server in WTP and pick "Use the custom location" option in the server configuration in eclipse. New configuration files are created in workspace/Server/server-name-config/ Set up the server path and deploy path for my catalina base (not the internal .metadata one) After I started it, the new configuration files overwrote the original catalina-base/conf files I had there - I was glad, it should be like this but after I made changes in the eclipse config files workspace/Server/server-name-config/ and restarted the server, the changes didn't appeared in the original files in CATALINA_BASE/conf What the hell is that ? So I set the CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml to fault configuration and restarted tomcat from eclipse and it worked ! it took the configuration from /Server/server-name-config/server.xml Then I deleted CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml and it said that there is no server.xml in catalina base ! How is it possible ? I don't understand why eclipse WTP developers made so tight integration. There should by just symbolic links in /Server/server-name-config/ pointing to CATALINA_BASE/conf/ ... now there is a weird system which is totally unpredictable. The changes in /Server/server-name-config/ are not reflected in CATALINA_BASE/conf ... from where the standard bootstrap.jar or other catalina classloaders and classes build server, engine and other objects with particular setting. Moreover the CATALINA_BASEs could be used outside eclipse then. The second problem, I'm setting up various things in CATALINA_BASE/bin/startup.sh and setenv.sh which is easy cause I can use bash for it. Is then modifying VM parameters in the "Open launch configuration" settings the only way how to do it in eclipse ? Sorry for such a huge pile of questions, but I'm annoyed by the fact that it is much better to not use eclipse WTP for this because it is very poorly designed and it's a shame because this would spare me a lot of time. And using the internal .metadata/ instances it's even more terrifying way that the one I described.

• CentOS 6.5 proxy bypass/no_proxy not working

  I am running CentOS 6.5 on my desktop. I've set the Network Proxy using the network proxy application provided under Preferences. I've also set the following exceptions: localhost,127.0.0.0/8,172.16.0.0/12,192.168.0.0./16 But whenever I am using wget (I'm testing the proxy settings using using wget) then wget tries to connect to the proxy for private addresses, but wget localhost works fine and doesn't use the proxy. I also removed all the proxy settings and set the proxy in the shell: export http_proxy="<proxy_url>:<port>" export https_proxy="<proxy_url>:<port>" export no_proxy="localhost,127.0.0.0/8,172.16.0.0/12,192.168.0.0./16" It work when I use the command wget <external_url> or wget localhost but fails when I use the command wget <private address from the $no_proxy variable>. I also tried setting the variables in Ubuntu 14.04 also and facing the same issue. Regards,

  Using a VM I installed Windows 2008 Server x64 and as the image below shows, added the IIS Role full image and assigned all role features of IIS full image But if I have an ASP.NET (aspx) page that does (C#) Session["test-session"] = "A"; and read in other page I always get nothing! NOTE: I do have an entire ASP.NET web application, the example above is to be succinct and explicit on what is the problem I'm facing. Can anyone know what do I have to do to the Server, so I can use the Session variables? All help is greatly appreciated, Thank you

  I have two CheckBoxes and a TextBox. I want to TextBox to have IsEnabled=False if both CheckBoxes have IsChecked=False. Can I do this with a MultiTrigger? I keep getting errors trying to use the Source property. I have it working with MultiDataTriggers as you can see below. But have two questions. 1) Is this my only choice? • Thin and Bundler on Windows Rails

  Trying to get Thin working with Bundle on Windows, I know, major PITA but anyways, I'm new to Thin and Bundle gem, I'm on Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 2.3.5 and trying to get someone else's app running on my laptop, the app uses Thin and Bundle gem to install gems required. I noticed that bundle created a .bundle folder under My Documents folder and put all the gems there for the app. When I tried "thin run", it reported 'thin' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I check the environment path and it doesn't point to the .bundle folder at all and I found there is a thin.bat in C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\.bundle\ruby\1.8\bin When I tried "C:\Documents and Settings\Bob.bundle\ruby\1.8\bin\thin" start, it gave me another error c:/ruby/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:777:in `report_activate_error': Could not find RubyGem thin (>= 0) (Gem::LoadError) from c:/ruby/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:211:in `activate' from c:/ruby/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:1056:in `gem' from C:/Documents and Settings/Bob/.bundle/ruby/1.8/bin/thin:18 I get the same error if I added "C:\Documents and Settings\Bob.bundle \ruby\1.8\bin" to the env path. Anyone know I can get this working?

• Regex to extract portions of file name

  I have text files formatted as such: R156484COMP_004A7001_20100104_065119.txt I need to consistently extract the R****COMP, the 004A7001 number, 20100104 (date), and don't care about the 065119 number. the problem is that not ALL of the files being parsed have the exact naming convention. some may be like this: R168166CRIT_156B2075_SU2_20091223_123456.txt or R285476COMP_SU1_125A6025_20100407_123456.txt So how could I use regex instead of split to ensure I am always getting that serial (ex. 004A7001), the date (ex. 20100104), and the R****COMP (or CRIT)???   I have a UINavigationController consisting of a tableview I want to load some data into. I have a dictionary plist containing Dictionaries for each Train Line which in turn have dictionaries for each station with the relevant information along with one string lineName. I need to collect the station Names keys and add them to an array to populate my table (This is working).
