  • Does replacing statements by expressions using the C++ comma operator could allow more compiler opti

    - by Gabriel Cuvillier
    The C++ comma operator is used to chain individual expressions, yielding the value of the last executed expression as the result. For example the skeleton code (6 statements, 6 expressions): step1; step2; if (condition) step3; return step4; else return step5; May be rewritten to: (1 statement, 6 expressions) return step1, step2, condition? step3, step4 : step5; I noticed that it is not possible to perform step-by-step debugging of such code, as the expression chain seems to be executed as a whole. Does it means that the compiler is able to perform special optimizations which are not possible with the traditional statement approach (specially if the steps are const or inline)? Note: I'm not talking about the coding style merit of that way of expressing sequence of expressions! Just about the possible optimisations allowed by replacing statements by expressions.

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS at UITableView on IOS

    - by Suprie
    Hi all, When scrolling through table, my application crash and console said it was EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I've look everywhere, and people suggest me to use NSZombieEnabled on my executables environment variables. I've set NSZombieEnabled, NSDebugEnabled, MallocStackLogging and MallocStackLoggingNoCompact to YES on my executables. But apparently i still can't figure out which part of my program that cause EXC_BAD_ACCESS. • C Check Substring of a String C

    - by user69514
    I'm trying to check whether or not the second argument in my program is a substring of the first argument. The problem is that it only work if the substring starts with the same letter of the string. EDIT: It must be done in C, not C++. Sorry #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> int my_strstr( char const *s, char const *sub ) { char const *ret = sub; while ( ret = strchr( ret, *sub ) ) { if ( strcmp( ++ret, sub+1 ) == 0 ) return 1; } return 0; } int main(int argc, char **argv){ if (argc != 3) { printf ("Usage: check <string one> <string two>\n"); } int result = my_strstr(argv[1], argv[2]); if(result == 1){ printf("%s is a substring of %s\n", argv[2], argv[1]); } else{ printf("%s is not a substring of %s\n", argv[2], argv[1]); } return 0; }

  • Accepting drag operations in an NSCollectionView subclass

    - by andyvn22
    I've subclassed NSCollectionView and I'm trying to receive dragged files from the Finder. I'm receiving draggingEntered: and returning an appropriate value, but I'm never receiving prepareForDragOperation: (nor any of the methods after that in the process). Is there something obvious I'm missing here? Code: - (void)awakeFromNib { [self registerForDraggedTypes:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:NSFilenamesPboardType, nil]]; } - (NSDragOperation)draggingEntered:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender { NSLog(@"entered"); //Happens NSPasteboard *pboard; NSDragOperation sourceDragMask; sourceDragMask = [sender draggingSourceOperationMask]; pboard = [sender draggingPasteboard]; if ([[pboard types] containsObject:NSFilenamesPboardType]) { NSLog(@"copy"); //Happens return NSDragOperationCopy; } return NSDragOperationNone; } - (BOOL)prepareForDragOperation:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender { NSLog(@"prepare"); //Never happens return YES; }

  • Python having problems writing/reading and testing in a correct format

    - by Ionut
    I’m trying to make a program that will do the following: check if auth_file exists if yes - read file and try to login using data from that file - if data is wrong - request new data if no - request some data and then create the file and fill it with requested data So far: import json import getpass import os import requests filename = ".auth_data" auth_file = os.path.realpath(filename) url = 'http://example.com/api' headers = {'content-type': 'application/json'} def load_auth_file(): try: f = open(auth_file, "r") auth_data = f.read() r = requests.get(url, auth=auth_data, headers=headers) if r.reason == 'OK': return auth_data else: print "Incorrect login..." req_auth() except IOError: f = file(auth_file, "w") f.write(req_auth()) f.close() def req_auth(): user = str(raw_input('Username: ')) password = getpass.getpass('Password: ') auth_data = (user, password) r = requests.get(url, auth=auth_data, headers=headers) if r.reason == 'OK': return user, password elif r.reason == "FORBIDDEN": print "Incorrect login information..." req_auth() return False I have the following problems(understanding and applying the correct way): I can't find a correct way of storing the returned data from req_auth() to auth_file in a format that can be read and used in load_auth file PS: Of course I'm a beginner in Python and I'm sure I have missed some key elements here :(

  • Need help mocking a ASP.NET Controller in Rhino Mocks

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, I'm trying to mock up a fake ASP.NET Controller. I don't have any concrete controllers, so I was hoping to just mock a Controller and it will work. This is what I currently have: _fakeRequestBase = MockRepository.GenerateMock<HttpRequestBase>(); _fakeRequestBase.Stub(x => x.HttpMethod).Return("GET"); _fakeContextBase = MockRepository.GenerateMock<HttpContextBase>(); _fakeContextBase.Stub(x => x.Request).Return(_fakeRequestBase); var controllerContext = new ControllerContext(_fakeContextBase, new RouteData(), MockRepository.GenerateMock<ControllerBase>()); _fakeController = MockRepository.GenerateMock<Controller>(); _fakeController.Stub(x => x.ControllerContext).Return(controllerContext); Everything works except the last line, which throws a runtime error and is asking me for some Rhino.Mocks source code or something (which I don't have). See how I'm trying to mock up an abstract Controller - is that allowed? Can someone help me?

  • C++ run error: pointer being freed was not allocated

  • How to create closed areas (convex polygons) from set of line segments ?

    - by Marten
    The following problem is in 2D, so some simplifications can be made when suggesting answers. I need to create closed areas (defined either by line segments or just set of points - convex polygon) from a set of points/line segments. Basically I used Voronoi to generate "roads". Then I changed some of the data. Now I need a way to loop through that data (which is still line segments but doesn't comply with Voronoi anymore) and generate "neigbourhoods" that are bordered with the "roads". I looked at some graph diagrams and shortest path theories, but I could not figure it out. Logically it could be done by starting at left edge from one point, finding the way back to that point using the shortest path with available lines (using only clockwise directions). Then mark this line set down and remove from the data. Then you can repeat the same process and get all the areas like that. I tried to implement that but it did not get me anywhere as I could not figure out a way to write a C++ code that could do that. Problem was with choosing the most counterclockwise line from available lines from a specific point. All angle based math I did gave wrong answers because the way sin/cos are implemented in c++. So to summarize - if you can help me with a totally new approach to the problem its good, if not could you help me find a way to write the part of the code that finds the shortest clockwise path back to the beginning point using the line segment set as paths back. Thank you for your help!

  • Word Find - find any highlighted text that starts with a squared bracket

    - by user2953311
    Is there a way to Find highlighted text that ONLY begins with a open square bracket? I've tried using the square bracket as a wildcard, but it won't find any adjoining words. For example, I have a document containing conditional paragraphs, in squared brackets, with the "name" of the paragraph highlighted at the beginning: "[Document to return Thank you for sending the documents requested earlier.]" (the section in bold is highlighted in blue in Word) Is there a way to find "[Document to return"? I hope this makes sense Thanks in advance

  • Preventing EF4 ConstraintException when invoking TryUpdateModel

    - by twk
    Given following ASP.NET MVC controller code: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(FormCollection collection) { string[] whitelist = new []{ "CompanyName", "Address1", "Address2", ... }; Partner newPartner = new Partner(); if (TryUpdateModel(newPartner, whitelist, collection)) { var db = new mainEntities(); db.Partners.AddObject(newPartner); db.SaveChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Details/" + newPartner.ID); } else { return View(); } } The problem is with the Entity Framework 4: the example Partner entity is mapped to a database table with it's fields NOT ALLOWED to be NULL (which is ok by design - they're required). Unfortunately, invoking TryUpdateModel when some of the properties are nulls produces ConstraintException which is not expected! I do expect that TryUpdateModel return false in this case. It is ok that EF wouldn't allow set a property value to null if it should not be, but the TryUpdateMethod should handle that, and add the error to ModelState errors collection. I am wrong, or somebody screwed the implementation of TryUpdateModel method?

  • How to parse (infinite) nested object notation?

    - by kyogron
    I am currently breaking my head about transforming this object hash: "food": { "healthy": { "fruits": ['apples', 'bananas', 'oranges'], "vegetables": ['salad', 'onions'] }, "unhealthy": { "fastFood": ['burgers', 'chicken', 'pizza'] } } to something like this: food:healthy:fruits:apples food:healthy:fruits:bananas food:healthy:fruits:oranges food:healthy:vegetables:salad food:healthy:vegetables:onions food:unhealthy:fastFood:burgers food:unhealthy:fastFood:chicken food:unhealthy:fastFood:pizza In theory it actually is just looping through the object while keeping track of the path and the end result. Unfortunately I do not know how I could loop down till I have done all nested. var path; var pointer; function loop(obj) { for (var propertyName in obj) { path = propertyName; pointer = obj[propertyName]; if (pointer typeof === 'object') { loop(pointer); } else { break; } } }; function parse(object) { var collection = []; }; There are two issues which play each out: If I use recurse programming it looses the state of the properties which are already parsed. If I do not use it I cannot parse infinite. Is there some idea how to handle this? Regards

FILE_EXT=${FILE#*.} if [ isNumeric ${FILE_EXT} ]; then echo "Numbered file." fi #... In some cases the file name not have an extension, and this causes the FILE_EXT variable to be empty, which causes the following error: ./script[37]: test: 0403-004 Specify a parameter with this command. How should I be calling this function so that I do not get this error?

  • Problem showing selected value of combobox when it is bind to a List<T> using Linq to Entities

    - by Syed Mustehsan Ikram
    I have a combobox which is has itemtemplate applied on it and is bind to a List of entity return using linq. i m using mvvm. It is bind to it successfully but when i set the selected value of it from code at runtime to show the selected value coming from db it doesn't select it. For reference here is my combobox xaml. SelectedValue="{Binding Path=SelectedManufacturer}" Grid.Column="3" Grid.Row="2" Margin="20,9.25,68,7.75" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource ManufacturerDataTemplate}" TabIndex="6"/ Here is my part from code behind from viewModel. List currentManufacturers = new List(); tblManufacturer selectedManufacturer = null; public List CurrentManufacturers { get { return currentManufacturers; } set { currentManufacturers = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("CurrentManufacturers"); } } public tblManufacturer SelectedManufacturer { get { return selectedManufacturer; } set { selectedManufacturer = currentManufacturers.Where(mm => mm.ManufacturerID == Convert.ToInt32(selectedDevice.tblManufacturer.EntityKey.EntityKeyValues[0].Value)).First(); NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedManufacturer"); } }

  • setting cookies

    - by aharon
    Okay, so I'm trying to set cookies using Ruby. I'm in a Rack environment. response[name]=value will add an HTTP header into the HTTP headers hash rack has. I know that it works. The following method doesn't work: def set_cookie(opts={}) args = { :name => nil, :value => nil, :expires => Time.now+314, :path => '/', :domain => Cambium.uri #contains the IP address of the dev server this is running on }.merge(opts) raise ArgumentError, ":name and :value are mandatory" if args[:name].nil? or args[:value].nil? response['Set-Cookie']="#{args[:name]}=#{args[:value]}; expires=#{args[:expires].clone.gmtime.strftime("%a, %d-%b-%Y %H:%M:%S GMT")}; path=#{args[:path]}; domain=#{args[:domain]}" end Why not? And how can I solve it? Thanks.

  • VS2010 Web Deploy: how to remove absolute paths and automate setAcl?

    - by Julien Lebosquain
    The integrated Web Deployment in Visual Studio 2010 is pretty nice. It can create a package ready to be deployed using MSDeploy on a target IIS machine. Problem is, this package will be redistributed to a client that will install it himself using the "Import Application" from IIS when MSDeploy is installed. The default package created always include the full path from the development machine, "D:\Dev\XXX\obj\Debug\Package\PackageTmp" in the source manifest file. It doesn't prevent installation of course since it was designed this way, but it looks ugly in the import dialog and has no meaning to the client. Worse he will wonder what are those paths and it looks quite confusing. By customizing the .csproj file (by adding MSBuild properties used by the package creation task), I managed to add additional parameters to the package. However, I spent most of the afternoon in the 2600 lines long Web.Publishing.targets trying to understand what parameter influenced the "development path" behavior, in vain. I also tried to use the setAcl to customize security on a given folder after deployment, but I only managed to do this with MSBuild by using a relative path... it shouldn't matter if I resolve the first problem though. I could modify the generated archive after its creation but I would prefer if everything was automatized using MSBuild. Does anyone know how to do that?

  • UIPickerView and empty core data array

    - by Mark
    I have a viewcontroller showing items from a core data entity. I also have a tableview listing records from the same entity. The table is editable, and the user could remove all the records. When this happens, the view controller holding the pickerview bombs because it's looking for records in an empty array. How to prevent this? I'm assuming I need to do something different at objectAtIndex:row... # pragma mark PickerView Section - (NSInteger)numberOfComponentsInPickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView { return 1; // returns the number of columns to display. } - (NSInteger)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger)component { return [profiles count]; // returns the number of rows } - (NSString *)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView titleForRow:(NSInteger)row forComponent:(NSInteger)component { // Display the profiles we've fetched on the picker Profiles *prof = [profiles objectAtIndex:row]; return prof.profilename; } //If the user chooses from the pickerview - (void)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView didSelectRow:(NSInteger)row inComponent:(NSInteger)component { selectedProfile = [[profiles objectAtIndex:row]valueForKey:@"profilename"]; }

  • Haskell lazy I/O and closing files

    - by Jesse
    I've written a small Haskell program to print the MD5 checksums of all files in the current directory (searched recursively). Basically a Haskell version of md5deep. All is fine and dandy except if the current directory has a very large number of files, in which case I get an error like: <program>: <currentFile>: openBinaryFile: resource exhausted (Too many open files) It seems Haskell's laziness is causing it not to close files, even after its corresponding line of output has been completed. The relevant code is below. The function of interest is getList. import qualified Data.ByteString.Lazy as BS main :: IO () main = putStr . unlines =<< getList "." getList :: FilePath -> IO [String] getList p = let getFileLine path = liftM (\c -> (hex $ hash $ BS.unpack c) ++ " " ++ path) (BS.readFile path) in mapM getFileLine =<< getRecursiveContents p hex :: [Word8] -> String hex = concatMap (\x -> printf "%0.2x" (toInteger x)) getRecursiveContents :: FilePath -> IO [FilePath] -- ^ Just gets the paths to all the files in the given directory. Are there any ideas on how I could solve this problem? The entire program is available here: http://haskell.pastebin.com/PAZm0Dcb

  • Doctrine2 - relationship

    - by Filip Golonka
    I'm developing an application, which is looking for optimal route and timetable in public transport. I have some experience about Doctrine1, but it's my first time with Doctrine2. There is soem new fields to describe relations (mappedBy and inversedBy) and also some new ways of mapping. I have following code: $query = $this->em->createQuery("SELECT partial cls.{stop}, partial t.{arriveTime, departureTime} FROM \Entities\Timetable t JOIN t.ride r JOIN t.carrierLineStop cls WHERE t.departureTime>=:time AND r.idCarrierLine=:carrierLine AND (cls.idStop=:firstStop OR cls.idStop=:lastStop)"); $query->setParameters(array( 'time' => $time, 'carrierLine' => $path->getLine(), 'firstStop' => $path->getFirstStop(), 'lastStop' => $path->getLastStop() )); When I try to execute that script I've got an error: [Semantical Error] line 0, col 24 near '}, partial t.{arriveTime,': Error: There is no mapped field named 'stop' on class Entities\CarrierLineStop.
