• Intent flags to Login page redirect, killing previous Activities

  Basically I have a Service that at some points it will sync with the network in order to check if the token is still valid. if it isn't, it should redirect to the login screen (from the service) and if the user press the back button, it should NOT show the previous Activity but instead exit the app. I'm not asking how to hack onBackPressed, I already know how to do it. I'm asking how to accomplish this using the intent flags. So far I have tried the following: intent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP | Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK); Using the FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK is mandatory because I'm calling startActivity() from a service (or at least thrown exception told me so), and using FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP cause it was supposed to remove all previous activities from the stack, leaving only the new one. The issue is if I press back, I am still able to go to the previous Activity, which makes me think the combination of both flags are clearing the activities in the NEW task, not in the previous one I might be wrong on the reason, but it doesn't work. • TableView problem with Tab Bar!?!?!

  I created a tableView which worked fine in a single view app but as soon as I changed the view controller for a Tab Bar Controller and tapped the tab for the view with the table view in I suddenly get this! • Unity 2.0. How to throw ResolutionFailedException

  Hello, I have my app, using functionality that is based on unity application block. Sometimes I need to throw ResolutionFailedException manually. In v1.2 constructor of ResolutionFailedException had three parameters - typerequested, namerequested and exception. In v2.0 fourth parameter was added - buildercontext. I'm not creating it manually, so I have no reference to it and no idea where I can get it. Roughly speaking, I'm only overriding Resolve method in particular way and I'm not interfere in standard mechanism of policies, strategies and so on. Could anyone help?

• boost variant static_visitor problem picking correct function

  I'm sure I'm having a problem with template resolution here, but I'm not sure why I'm having the problem. I have a static visitor I'm passing to boost variant where i've had to do template specialization for certain cases. The case for everything except for MyClass should throw in the static_visitor below. Unfortunately, when the visitor is applied to pull a MyClass out, it selects the most generic case rather than the exact match. I would type each case explicitly, but that will be rather long. • Subprocess statement works in python console but not work in Serverdensity plugin?

• iPad --- managedObject problem when [self.tableViewSection reloadData]

  Hi , I am creating a news aggregator application that fetches a xml feed every 4 minutes. After the xml is loaded, I clear everything by deleting all the objects in the database, then save the new objects back into the database. I then call [self.tableViewSection reloadData]; to reload the tableView. Thats when I get a problem. As soon as the code gets to a section where i access the new [[managedObject valueForKey:@"event_text"] description] content it fails with a : * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSObjectInaccessibleException', reason: 'CoreData could not fulfill a fault for '0x4b3f6a0 '' Now from the flow I described on top, it seems odd to me that the tableView is populated properly the next time i launch the application, with the "new" data I fetched in the previous session. So its not that data thats corrupt , but seems to me something goes wrong when I refetch the managedObject after saving new data. Also keep in mind thats this app runs fine on the iPhone, its the iPad thats is giving me this problem.

• Automatic Step over

  I have been getting this error message when I step into some methods Do you want to continue being notified when an Automatic step over occurs? I usually answer Yes and I get taken to the line I want to step to. However, I just pressed No (cause I was tired of the dialog box always popping up). When I did that it skipped a lot of code I wanted to step through. Now when I step into my method it is skipping my method (and jumping to the finally block because the method I am trying to step into is throwing an exception). How can I change my answer back to Yes? I would prefer it never ask me (default showing the code), but if faced with the choice of it skipping the code I need to see, or having a NagBox, I will take the NagBox.

  I am a big fan of GCC, but recently I noticed a vague anomaly. Using __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator (ie, the most common iterator type used in libstdc++, the C++ STL) it is possible to refer to an arbitrary memory location and even change its value without causing an exception! Is this expected behavior? If so, isn't a security loophole? • Make text appear briefly in a JPanel

  Hi, I am trying to make text appear briefly before it disappears. It would be along the lines of 1) Set color to black 2) wait x amount of seconds 3) set color to background color The method I call is repaint(), which then calls paintComponent(Graphics painter). repaint() is called only if I press the space-bar. I thought of trying repaint();Thread.sleep(1000);repaint(); (I do catch the Interrupt exception, just not shown), but it only calls paintComponent once per space-bar . Is there an easy way to do this or is this something that is a bit challenging?

  I'm pretty sure I saw on a Rails related site something along the lines of: def my_function(*opts) opts.require_keys(:first, :second, :third) end And if one of the keys in require_keys weren't specified, or if there were keys that weren't specified, an exception was raised. I've been looking through ActiveSupport and I guess I might be looking for something like the inverse of except. I like to try and use as much of the framework as possible compared to writing my own code, that's the reason I'm asking when I know how to make the same functionality on my own. :) At the moment I'm doing it through the normal merge routine and making sure that I have what I need with some IFs.

  In my application I have a button. If the button is clicked as select against a database is executed and the result is shown in a ListView. As the select is quite complex, it takes some time to retrieve the data. When I click the Button, the Application-Window should be disabled until the data is loaded. But when I set the IsEnabled-Property of the Window to false, the Window gets disabled after the data is loaded. I tried to disable the Window in an other thread with a BackgroundWorker. But then I get an exception that the Window is alreay in use by an other thread. How can I disable the Window bevore it retrieves the data?

• Limiting what a .net plugin can access

  I have a web application that can load plugins through reflection. It currently uses Assembly.LoadFrom() and Activator.CreateInstance() to get this done. Right now plugins are loaded into the same AppDomain and have access to anything in my app and anything my app could access. What I'm looking for is a way to limit what classes and methods the plugin can access for security purposes. I want to have all of my classes and methods throw an exception when called unless they are whitelisted. I'd be whitelisting basically all the functions in an API class and a few data transfer objects. I also don't want the plugin to be able to access the filesystem or the database on it's own. I think I can do that with trust levels in a separate AppDomain though. Does anyone out there have any good ideas or resources? Is this something that could be done with Code Access Security or the new Security-Transparent Code features in .net 4?

• Bundling images with Blackberry

  How do I get bundled images with the BlackBerry Eclipse Plugin 1.1 Beta? I copied an image into "res/background.jpg" and tried to load it using Bitmap.getBitmapResource on background.jpg. Unfortunately, the image wasn't found (Illegal argument exception). I tried moving my image file into the src folder as per the advice here, but that didn't work either. I have opened up the .jar file and the background image is present at the root of the .jar file. The option to convert image files to .png isn't selected either. I have created folders like this : - main folder - class (which contain all my classes) - ressources (containing all my librairies : mongo, jedis...) - MANIFEST.MF My main class is named process. My manifest is like this : Main-Class: processEAN Class-Path: ressources\commons-pool-1.5.6.jar ressources\jedis-2.0.0.jar resources\mongo-2.6.3.jar class - I have generated the JAR with this command : jar cvmf MANIFEST.MF processEAN.jar class/*.class ressources/*.jar My problem : When executing the JAR I have still the message "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: processEAN" Any ideas ? • C# Multi threading- Move objects between threads

  Hi, i am working with a winforms control that is both a GUI element and also does some internal processing that has not been exposed to the developer. When this component is instantiated it may take between 5 and 15 seconds to become ready so what i want to do is put it on another thread and when its done bring it back to the gui thread and place it on my form. The problem is that this will (and has) cause a cross thread exception. Normally when i work with worker threads its just with simple data objects i can push back when processing is complete and then use with controls already on the main thread but ive never needed to move an entire control in this fashion. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how? If not how does one deal with a problem like this where there is the potential to lock the main gui?

  I use a Socket-based connection between Client and server with ObjectOutputStream. Does the ObjectOutputStream implement some kind of cache or memory between the calls, that fails to recognize that my 2 objects are different because they are very similar?

• Idea for doing almost same work in both catch & finally(C#3.0)

  I have a requirement. I am processing some files and after the processing are done I am archiving those files into an archive folder with timestamp appended. The file archiving and putting time stamp portion I am doing in the Finally block. Now a new requirement has come where I need to mail if something wrong goes in the original files and then I need to archive the same. Now this piece of code I need to handle in the catch block. But if I write the code entirely in the catch block, then it will fire only if there is an exception; otherwise not. So basically I am writing the same pice of code in both the catch and finally block. What is the standard and recommended approach you people think will be better in this case? I am using C#3.0 Thanks.

  Hi, Does does class/object models have a out-of-the-box equivalent to a database foreign key constraint? Assume the language is C# please. That is say Class A has a field that references Class B and vica-versa. If I have Object A & B (instantiated from these classes) what happens if I delete Object B? Does it auto-delete or throw a constraint issue if it still exists in Object A as a reference? That is, for this scenario is there a way to ensure when a Object A is delete that either (a) object B is delete like a cascade delete, or (b) a constraint exception is thrown as the expectation is that the reference in Class B should be non-null?

• Extracting fixture for one specific object

  I want to extract the necessary code to recreate a set of Models from my production environment to my testing environment. There is something wrong in the data that causes an Exception, and I need the data in my local environment to do debugging. I looked at django-extensions and the dumpscript command is almost what I want. But I have many other objects connected to this one via foreign keys. Is there an easy way to extract the object by primary key, and all other objects that are related to it?
