  • Multiple WAN interfaces on SonicWall TZ 100?

    I'm using a SonicWall TZ 100 with a basic configuration of X0 for the LAN and X1 for the WAN. The WAN uses DHCP to obtain its routable IP address. I want to obtain a second routable IP from my ISP. I'm in luck because my cable company will provide me with an additional dynamic IP for $5/mo. How do I bind this IP to my SonicWall? My additional dynamic IP will not be consecutive to the original one. It won't even be on the same class C. I think what I want to do is to use one of the empty ports/interfaces (X2, X3, or X4), tell that interface to use DHCP, and then add that interface to the WAN "zone". I can't figure out how to do this though. Here's what I've tried so far: (1) I've looked in Network Interfaces. I see X0 and X1 but the other unused interfaces don't show up. I don't see an "Add" button to add the new interfaces. (2) I've looked in Network Zones. I see that X0, X2, X3, X4 are in the LAN zone. I tried to drag X3 into the WAN zone but I can't. Nor does clicking the "Configure" button allow me to move an unused interface from LAN to WAN. (3) I've read the post entitled Splitting up multiple WAN's on Sonicwall. This doesn't seem applicable to me. Any thoughts?

  • Getting a NullPointerException at seemingly random intervals, not sure why

    I'm running an example from a Kinect library for Processing (http://www.shiffman.net/2010/11/14/kinect-and-processing/) and sometimes get a NullPointerException pointing to this line: int rawDepth = depth[offset]; The depth array is created in this line: int[] depth = kinect.getRawDepth(); I'm not exactly sure what a NullPointerException is, and much googling hasn't really helped. It seems odd to me that the code compiles 70% of the time and returns the error unpredictably. Could the hardware itself be affecting it?   • Try and catch error trapping. why is it so significant

    sorry if it sounds dumb ' as i am i a process of learnning java i try to understand , why on earth i should "try" a method to catch errors. it looks to me like the concept is:- ' letting a process run assuming its not properly developed. should i always assume that a program based on classes and inheritance is bound for unexpected errors, which i should handle with such a heavy tools like try catch throw throws ? should all java programs be included withing try catch framework?   • UBJsonReader (Libgdx) unable to to read UBJson from Python(Blender)

    I am working on an export tool from Blender to Libgdx, exports like custom attributes and other information (Almost completed), this is a very cool tool that will speed up a lot your works, after I completed I will send to public to contribute forum, Export format is uses python's Standard Json module and readable text, it of course works fine, but I wanna also have a Binary Json export for faster load, so users can Export Straight to Libgdx, but after I search I found that UBJson with draft9.py (simpleubjson 0.6.1) encode is seems matches with one FBXConverter's UBJsonWriter( Xoppa wrote), but when I export, I am not able to read the file, and send this errors (Java heap space) seems this is a different between byte sizes in UBJson(python) and UBJsonReader. how can I write a correct one in python that matches with Libgdx's UBJsonReader, and would be cross-platform?     At last:  some good news for those of you affected by the mismanaged session cookie issue in E-Business Suite environments.  This issue is resolved by the latest Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0_23 (a.k.a. JRE 6u23, internal version 1.6.0_23-b05).See the 1.6.0_23 Update Release Notes for details about what has changed in this release.  This release is available for download from the usual Sun channels and through the 'Java Automatic Update' mechanism.This JRE release has been certified with both Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12.  We recommend this release for all E-Business Suite users.

    Screenshot I created this small app as a weekend hack. It shows the reputations, upvotes, downvotes and accepted answers for a user against the tags for the answers. About I wanted to know how may upvotes I was away from getting the bronze badge for the clojure tag. But I could not find any straightforward way of doing that. So I wrote this app (in Clojure, of course). The SO API is used for the data and the charts are created using the Google Chart API. The charts are opened in the default browser. License Licensed under EPL 1.0. Download If you have Clojure and Leiningen installed, you can simply get the code from https://gist.github.com/725331, save it as socharts.clj and then run lein repl -e "(load \"socharts\")(refer 'socharts.socharts)(-main)" for launching the Swing UI If you don't have Clojure installed, but have Java then download the standalone jar from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5247/socharts-1.0.0-standalone.jar and run it as javaw -jar socharts-1.0.0-standalone.jar Once the UI is launched, just type your user id in the input box and press <ENTER>. It will take some time to download the data from the SO API (the progress bar shows the download progress) and then it will open the charts in your default browser. You can also run it as a command line app by running lein repl -e "(load \"socharts\")(refer 'socharts.socharts)(-main <userid>)" or java -jar socharts-1.0.0-standalone.jar <userid> where you replace <userid> with your user id. Be warned that because of a missing feature in the SO API, it will fetch the data for each question you have answered. So the maximum limit is 10000 answers (the SO API call limit).   • Trac problem: AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule"

    This problem already has been described mutliple times in different mailing lists, but no solution has yet been published. My original setup is as follows (but in the mean time i have a simpler one on Windows 7): Ubuntu server with apache 2.2 and python 2.7 virutal python environment created with virtualenv installed babel, genshi and trac in this order using pip in the virtual environment Trac seems to run fine with tracd, but when visiting it through apache, i get the following error in an official trac error page: AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule" The stacktrace looks like this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py",line 473, in _dispatch_request dispatcher.dispatch(req) File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py", line 154, in dispatch chosen_handler = self.default_handler File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/config.py", line 691, in __get__ self.section, self.name)) AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule". Please update the option trac.default_handler in trac.ini. I already tried a lot to get down to the root of the problem, for me it looks as if all nativ trac components refuse to load. When one explicitely imports these components in the wsgi handler, some of them start to work somehow. Since i suspected the virtual environment, i dropped it, and manually copied all dependencies (babel, genshi, trac, ..) to one directory, and added this directory to system.path in the wsgi handler. I get exactly the same error. Since this setup is now independend from the environment, one can easily try it out on any other machine (windows or linux) running apache 2 and python 2.7. On my Windwos 7 machine, i got exactly the same problem. I zipped together the whole bundle, one can download it from http://www.xterity.de/tmp/trac-installation.zip .   • Oracle on NFS vmdk beats native NFS!?

    Hi, my colleagues are pursuing this with Netapp and Oracle - but I thought I'd post here on the off chance someone else has seen this We have a RedHat 5 VM (fully up2date) running Oracle 11i with data disks mounted via the VM's linux kernel NFS using Oracle's recommended mount options and the performance is very inconsistent (Querys that should take < 2 seconds sometimes take 60 seconds) Funny thing is we can run the same queries perfectly consistently < 2 seconds on a VMDK residing on SAME NetApp NFS datastore! Makes me wish Oracle and NetApp collaborated as closely as VMware and NetApp did on the Virtual Storage Console we used to perfectly set the NFS options and keep them in compliance... We have tried a few Linux NFS options others have posted and not seen improvement so far. We are now creating VMDK's for the VM to replace the Linux NFS mounted and workaround the issue as our developers need consistent performance ASAP.

  • Looking for zsh completion file for osX native commands

    I've been digging deep into what actually comes with osX in /usr/bin and especially /usr/libexec. Quite good stuff really, although the command syntax is a bit.. odd. Let me direct the curious to the command that made me think of this: networksetup -printcommands I can not think of a command that better illustrates the need for good completion. security -h perhaps, but those commands have a familiar easy-to-read format. I beseech the community, please point me to a place where I can find such a thing. I never type them right, and I ache for tab completion for this Anyone have any idea where I could grab something? I'd prefer to stand on the shoulders of giants instead of trying to make a zsh/bash completion script leap into the world, ready for battle, like Athena, from my forehead. I am no Zeus when it comes to compctl. Not at all.

UPD: Changing pooling time, switch off one of agent, doesnt help. I look at zabbix log (recieved data from snmpd) and see that: sorry for russian locale, just look at numbers: and thats is not true, as my "iftop" show speed was about 90Mbits, but snmpd return 2Mbits. I understand that snmpd doesnt return speed, it return just a counter. But how its possible? why 2Mbit/s ? I tryed recompile snmpd with 64-bit counters, and without it. In both variants this blank fields present. So i think its my OS (freebsd) doesnt update interface counters well. I still collect tcpdump for found this request/response. But have problem with that, to much trash. UPD2: I decrypt tcpdump-ed file, and public this as google doc at gdocfile Timediff looks strange.. Like zabbix sometimes "forget" do request, and then do twice at row, ehh UPD3: I parse log from command "while true; do netstat -bin -I vlan4008 /var/log/netstat; sleep 300; done" and load as google docs, and add formula for speed : link Looks like all counters in OS are good. Now i think problem in : 1. zabbix get request twice at row (and what about cacti) 2. snmpd use counter32

Typically, batch processing is bulk-oriented, non-interactive, and long running—and might be data- or computation-intensive. Batch jobs can be run on schedule or initiated on demand. Also, since batch jobs are typically long-running jobs, check-pointing and restarting are common features found in batch jobs.” JSR 352 defines the programming model for batch applications plus a runtime to run and manage batch jobs. The article covers feature highlights, selected APIs, the structure of Job Scheduling Language, and explains some of the key functions of JSR 352 using a simple payroll processing application. The article also describes how developers can run batch applications using GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 4.0. Kannan summarizes the article as follows: “In this article, we saw how to write, package, and run simple batch applications that use chunk-style steps.   • Is it worth learning either GWT or Vaadin?

    I consider myself a decent java/web developer. In my career I have always used servlets and ejb's with a web front end, most recently incoporating jquery and ajax. I can see the theoretical benefit of using GWT or Vaadin: it is my understanding they convert Java code to the required JavaScript/HTML. So the developer gets the benefit of cross browser compatibility and compile time error checking (of web GUI elements). My question is threefold: Are there any other benefits I am missing that would be gained using Vaadin or GWT? I am actually quite confident and productive using HTML and JavaScript - so will I actually see any benefit? Or will it just make my knowledge of these areas redundant (as they are handled by GWT/Vaadin)? Will the end result be that I can create enterprise scale data driven websites in a reasonably short time? I can however already do this, and I have not wasted any time learning GWT/Vaadin.

    I'm giving a talk in April 2011 on the "Developer English" and showing my non-developer audience, mostly English teachers, various diagrams to explain how developers see their industry etc. One of these diagrams is "Hot Technologies", basically, if you want to become a developer, what technologies should you learn to have the highest chance of (1) getting a job (2) making a good salary, and (3) work with the most exciting technology. This is a draft I made just to get some ideas out, basically C#, PHP, Java are where the bulk of the jobs are. Mobile development has a big future. JavaScript is becoming more and more important, and I want to list "minor technologies" such a Python, Ruby on Rails to the side, I assume e.g. that in general, there are a much smaller percentage of jobs in these technologies as in C#, PHP, Java. How could this diagram be improved?

  • What is the start point in game development? Where to start?

    I understand, I'm not unique with such a question, there are a lot of questions like this one. But I hope you'll take a minute and maybe can give me a piece of advice. I have an idea to develop games, but I don't know where is the start point in game development. The learning curve isn't as straight as in learning of a programming language, but I want to give it a try. I have some experience with OOP and programming in general. I know (not too deep) C#, Java programming languages. I searched info on where to start, read a lot of blogs, forums and so on. Once I decided "stop wandering around, just start develop a game" and I started. At the moment I have a console version of very simple game (RPS - rock-paper-scissors) developed with C#. It has different modes: "player vs cpu" and "player vs player". Some time later I looked at the code and decided that it should be refactored or even redeveloped from the scratch. And I thought that time "GUI is what I need. I can add logic later." And now I'm here. I've already decided to make RPS with GUI, then make multiplayer and so on. I'm not thinking about 3D now, 2D is enough. It doesn't matter what language to use: C# or Java, I found frameworks for both - XNA (C#) and Slick (Java). Both are good for 2D game development. But I know nothing about sprites, how to bind objects on the screen and so on. You can say "you don't need it for such simple game like RPS", but RPS is the beginning, I have some ideas like "Tower Defense" game... you know, everybody has ideas, wishes.... and this knowledge is useful and in some way obligatory. So what is the start point to achieve my plans, ideas, wishes? Where to start? Is it possible to make game development learning curve a little bit straight? Or there're ways that amateur and game development beginners use for years? Thank you for you answers and advise in advance. P.S Sorry for that this post turned out an essay, but I tried to express my wish to start acting. Hope I managed to do it.

Most of the time, Eclipse hangs while debugging. We tried to increase the memory buffer size in eclipse but no luck. We had tried to run the eclipse in various environment like Windows, Fedora 16, Cent OS. but some how not getting positive results. Customer has a import statement : import org.abc.customers.CustomerAddress; While CustomerMain has an import statement : import org.abc.customers.CustomerAddress; import org.abc.customers.Customer; The package for all of these classes are package org.abc.customer Now, this program works fine on eclipse but when i try to compile and run on cmd prompt it would not compile javac CustomerAddress.java compiles fine then since Customer depends on CustomerAddress i give javac -cp . Customer.java but the compiler complains error cannot find symbol CustomerAddress Thanks
