  • Convert charset name to NSStringEncoding

    Given a charset string, such as "utf-8", "iso-8859-1", "us-ascii" etc, is there any built-in way to get the appropriate NSStringEncoding in Cocoa? Right now I'm looking at just building a NSDictionary containing a canonicalized version of the name mapped to the NSStringEncoding, then having a lookup mechanism that canonicalizes the input in the same way. But is there really no way to get NSUTF8StringEncoding given the string "UTF-8", etc?

  • Form submit to target iframe only works once

    I'm having a really irritating problem doing something that I'm sure I've done before. The setup is this: There's a form which is submitted via a "click" handler on a button, though the submit is ultimately a simple call to the form's native submit() function. The form's target is an iframe, which is initially filled with an empty page (that is, its source object is an URL for an empty page). That is, the "target" attribute of the form is the same identifier (and yes, it's a valid identifier) as the "name" and "id" attributes of the iframe (and yes, it's unique) Now the goal of this setup is as follows: the form contains file upload fields. Should something be wrong with one of the files uploaded, the server will report back an error. If the error response (that is, the html page with a new copy of the form, along with appropriate error messages) were to be allowed to reload the original window, then the file input fields would be cleared. That's not good. Thus the form submits to the iframe, so that the response from the server can be a small page that knows it's in that hidden iframe, and knows to move the error messages up to the form. One more thing: the form itself is also in an iframe, as part of a popup modal dialog (like a jQuery UI dialog, only slightly different; same idea though). The setup works fine - on the first submit. In other words, if I supply nice happy files to upload, the server ships back the successful response, and the dialog is closed correctly. If I send a bogus file, the server responds with an error page that correctly copies its stuff up to the form page. On the second submit, however (like, if I fix the bogus file input field), the browser insists on sending the server response to a new browser tab. As far as I can tell, the form's "target" remains correct, the iframe "name" and "id" attributes aren't changed, and I even make sure to update the hidden iframe "window.name" and "window.id" values. None of that is helping; I always get a new browser tab. I'm trying to set up a slightly simpler test case to see if I can rule out some of my framework code (the stuff that does the submit), though via a few console.log() calls I think that stuff is OK; it's certainly OK on all the other dialogs etc. in the site. When/if I create a simpler version I'll post it. In the meantime, if any of you insanely smart people recognize this situation and know of a trick to make it work, I'd be really thankful. I see the same behavior in both Firefox (3.6) and Chrome, so it's got to be my problem and not a browser quirk (well, at least that's what I think to be true).

    I have written an O/R database wrapper that generates some wrapper methods for stored procs it reads from the database. Now I need to produce some custom wrapper code if an input parameter of a stored proc is defaulted to NULL. The problem is - I get stored proc parameters using: SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command) and it doesn't bring parameter defaults. Is there any way to look up those defaults? Are they stored anywhere in the database? BTW, I'm using SQL Server 2008

    Hey, I'm trying to add a validation rule to multiple textboxes dynamically. Here's the js: //validate form. $("#SubmitForm").validate(); $("input[id*=Hours]").rules("add", { number: true, messages: { number: "Please enter a valid Hours" } }); This applies the rule to the very first textbox on the page with "Hours" in the id but then it doesn't apply it to any of the other ones.   • ffmpeg - How to determine if -movflags faststart is enabled? PHP

    While I am able to encode an mp4 file which I can plan on my local windows machine, I am having trouble encoding files to mp4 which are readable when streaming by safari, etc. After a bit of reading, I believe my issue is that I must move the metadata from the end of the file to the beginning in order for the converted mp4 files to be streamable. To that end, I am trying to find out if the build of ffmpeg that I am currently using is able to use the -movflags faststart option through php - as my current outputted mp4 files are not working when streamed online. This is the way I am now echoing the -help, -formats, -codecs, but I am not seeing anything about -movflags faststart in any of the lists: exec($ffmpegPath." -help", $codecArr); for($ii=0;$ii<count($codecArr);$ii++){ echo $codecArr[$ii].'</br>'; } Is there a similar method of determining if -movflags fastart is available to my ffmpeg build?     When I compile my solution I get 2 errors which I did not get with version of 1.1 of AjaxMin. The "SourceFiles" parameter is not supported by the "AjaxMin" task. Verify the parameter exists on the task, and it is a settable public instance property. The "AjaxMin" task could not be initialized with its input parameters. If I re-install AjaxMin4 then reload VS it works again until I reboot the PC. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

    I'm building a custom RTE that converts user input to a homebrewn markup, now idiot that I am I did this using an iframe with designMode = "On" and got it to work in firefox using styleWithCSS = false so that I could easily convert the <b> (yes... b :( ) into my markup which would then output the proper code instead of me having to read from <span style="... now my problem is, I cant seem to find something that looks or acts like styleWithCSS = false for IE, Chrome or Opera, any suggestions are welcome.

It was working fine, but when I wanted to apply some ACT features, for instance watermark or autocomplete on a textbox (input) within the dataview div, its not applied. However, when I move that text box, out of the div, it is working fine and the watermark effect was applied. Am I doing something wrong or any advice ? Thanks

I believe, it should be possible to show those lines wrapped inside cells. In my scenario for left and right strings as input, after calling DiffPlex I just need them modified with html styles to be placed into table cells with wrapping.

  • Stack Overflows in the Eclipse JSP Editor

    When editing JSPs in Eclipse, I periodically get stack overflows. Once I get one, each time I click a character I get a pop-up telling me there was another stack overflow. This continues until I close the JSP and re-open it, at which time it's fine for a while. org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.internal.parser.JSPSourceParser: input could not be parsed correctly at position 1 java.lang.StackOverflowError Has anyone else seen this issue, do you know the cause, and is there a way to fix it?
