• Set User Defined Language Programmatically

  I've been trying to select the User Defined Language programmatically unsuccessfully through various means, another problem is the files I need to apply the user defined language have no file extension, old DOS files; NPPM_SETCURRENTLANGTYPE (only enumerates built-in languages) Macros don't seem to sense changes with language selection, I was hoping to record a macro then trigger it with NPPExec. Notepad++ accepts only in-built languages for starting from the command line I can't select a UDL as the default language for a new document. ...and my attempts at overriding an in-built language seem to have failed. I've copied details from userDefinedLang.xml to langs.xml don't work. The highlighting doesn't change. Thanks for any help!!

I have executed the batch in SSMS with “Include Actual execution plan “ and having Profiler running. The plan shows that the first query cost is 88% relative to the batch and the second is 12%, but the profiler says that durations of the first and second query are 17ms and 210 ms respectively, the overall time is 229, which is not 12 and 88.. What is going on? Is there a way how I can determine in the execution plan which is the slowest part of the query?

  I have a Hibernate entity that looks like this (accessors ommitted for brevity): @Entity @Table(name="FeatureList_Version") @SecondaryTable(name="FeatureList", pkJoinColumns=@PrimaryKeyJoinColumn(name="FeatureList_Key")) public class FeatureList implements Serializable { @Id @Column(name="FeatureList_Version_Key") private String key; @Column(name="Name",table="FeatureList") private String name; @Column(name="VERSION") private Integer version; } I want to craft an HQL query that retrieves the most up to date version of a FeatureList. The following query sort of works: Select f.name, max(f.version) from FeatureList f group by f.name The trouble is that won't populate the key field, which I need to contain the key of the record with the highest version number for the given FeatureList. If I add f.key in the select it won't work because it's not in the group by or an aggregate and if I put it in the group by the whole thing stops working and it just gives me every version as a separate entity. So, can anybody help?

• SQL joining 3 tables when 1 table is emty

  I am trying to write a query that connects 3 tables. The first table is info about each festival The second table is the number of votes for each festival The third table is reviews for each festival I want to join all 3 tables so i get all the feilds from table1, join table1 with table2 on the festivalid but i also need to count the number of records in table 3 that applys to each festival. FOR XML PATH('') but that was inlcuding weird encoded characters (eg. carriage return). ... so i'm not 100% happy with that. I also tried to see if there's a COALESCE solution, but all my attempts failed. So - any suggestions?

I'm need to write an stored procedure for SQL Server 2008 for performing some huge select query and I need filter it results with specifying filtering type via procedure's parameters (parameterize where clause). • SQL finding members who are not friends of another member

  I'm struggling to find a query which will return members who aren't friends of a certain member. Here is the layout of my tables: member_login: MemberID, email, password member_info: memberID, first_name, last_name member_friends: friendID, req_member, req_date, app_member, app_date, date_deactivated I tried to use NOT IN to run a query that would return the opposite of friends but nothing I try seems to be working. But, attempts to select such elements using the selectors-api fail.   Hello Guys, Im trying to query a sort of from - to date. e.g. 20-01-2010 to 20-02-2010. this should include the mentioned dates. i've tried the following queries but none works. select * from [tableName] where date = '20-01-2010' AND date <= '20-02-2010' the date where date is equal to 20-02-2010 does not show. i don't know why. select * from [tableName] where date between '20-01-2010' AND '20-02-2010' the mentioned dates is not included in the results. i want it to be included in the results. please help. thanks in advance! :)

  While browsing SO today I found this question here and it starts with this: Sure, you're gonna tell me that SOAP is depracated and all, well i'm forced to use it Found lots of statement like this one on SO up till now, this one just triggered me to ask this question. REST has its uses, SOAP has its uses, in some places they intersect as functionality but they are not replaceable to one another. So I wonder, why do people think SOAP is "deprecated"? Is it ignorance? Complexity of SOAP and WS-* specs? REST hype? What? If you think SOAP is deprecated please tell me why. I'm curious!

• Help replace this SQL cursor with better code

  Can anyone give me a hand improving the performance of this cursor logic from SQL 2000. It runs great in SQl2005 and SQL2008, but takes at least 20 minutes to run in SQL 2000. BTW, I would never choose to use a cursor, and I didn't write this code, just trying to get it to run faster.   I'm rendering a drop down list using Html.DropDownListFor() extension. The markup I get is as follows: select id="NationalityId" name="NationalityId" option value="" /option option selected="selected" value="1"Estonian /option option value="2"Russian /option option value="3"Ukranian /option option value="4"Belorussian /option option value="5"Swedish /option option value="6"Dutch /option /select As you can see, option with value==1 is selected. But in Firefox 3.6.3 it doesn't display as selected, empty string (first option - value == "") is displayed instead. IE7 and Chrome render the page right - the option is selected. Does anybody know what is going on? How do I get this around?

  I have a loop that calculates the similarity between two documents. It collects all the tokens in a document and their scores, and places them in dictionary. • WPF TreeViewItem deselected item still lightly highlighted

  Hello WPF fellows, I have multiple expander controls with a ViewTree control within each expander control. When I select a ViewTreeItem from one ViewTree and then select another ViewTreeItem from another ViewTree, the newly selected ViewTreeItem is highlighted in dark blue, but the last selected item is now highlighted in a very light shade of blue. Please look at www.zunjaa.com/public/images/screen.jpg to see what I'm talking about. How do I make it so that no longer active item does not show the lighter blue? Thanks.
