• Can we use spring FTL based form validations with any controller other than SimpleFormController

  Hi, Because of some design specification we have to extend all controllers in spring MVC from a class that extends AbstractCommandController. • WCF: How can I send data while gracefully closing a connection?

  I've got a WCF service that offers a Login method. A client is required to call this method (due to it being the only IsInitiating=true). This method should return a string that describes the success of the call in any case. If the login failed, the connection should be closed. The issue is with the timing of the close. I'd like to send the return value, then immediately close the connection. string Login (string name, string pass) { if (name != pass) { OperationContext.Current.Channel.Close (); return "fail"; } else { return "yay"; } } The MSDN states that calling Close on the channel causes an ICommunicationObject to gracefully transition from the Opened state to the Closed state. The Close method allows any unfinished work to be completed before returning. For example, finish sending any buffered messages). This did not work for me (or my understanding is wrong), as the close is executed immediately - WCF does not wait for the Login method to finish executing and return a string but closes the connection earlier. Therefore I assume that calling Close does not wait for the running method to finish. Now, how can I still return a value, then close?

• Spring redirect: prefix issue

  Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? • Lotus Notes - Export emails to plain text file

  I am setting up a Lotus Notes account to accept emails from a client, and automatically save each email as a plain text file to be processed by another application. So, I'm trying to create my very first Agent in Lotus to automatically export the emails to text. Is there a standard, best practices way to do this? I've created a LotusScript Agent that pretty much works. However, there is a bug - once the Body of the memo exceeds 32K characters, it starts inserting extra CR/LF pairs. I am using Lotus Notes 7.0.3.   I have a textbox in my xaml file which is editable. Now according to my project requirements content in textbox should only be 0-9 and a-f (hexadecimal values) and textbox should take the input based on hexadecimal values. Demonstratation: 12 ab 32 a5 64 Now if my cursor is at the end and i go on pressing backspace, it shud remove the values as it happens in a general text box. Now If my cursor is at the beginning of a5, and i press "delete key", the value should become like: 12 ab 32 56 4 If my cursor is at the end of a5 and i press the 'delete key" nothing should happen. • Java Charset problem on linux

  Hi, problem: I have a string containing special characters which i convert to bytes and vice versa..the conversion works properly on windows but on linux the special character is not converted properly.the default charset on linux is UTF-8 as seen with Charset.defaultCharset.getdisplayName() however if i run on linux with option -Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1 it works properly.. how to make it work using the UTF-8 default charset and not setting the -D option in unix environment. edit: i use jdk1.6.13 edit:code snippet works with cs = "ISO-8859-1"; or cs="UTF-8"; on win but not in linux String x = "½"; System.out.println(x); byte[] ba = x.getBytes(Charset.forName(cs)); for (byte b : ba) { System.out.println(b); } String y = new String(ba, Charset.forName(cs)); System.out.println(y); ~regards daed

  I try to configure log4j.xml in such a way that file will be rolled upon file size, and the rolled file's name will be i.e: "C:/temp/test/test_log4j-%d{yyyy-MM-dd-HH_mm_ss}.log" I followed this discussion: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/NUYyjJipzkDOS3reRiMz Finally it worked for me only when I add: try { Thread.sleep(1); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } to the method: public boolean isTriggeringEvent(Appender appender, LoggingEvent event, String filename, long fileLength) which make it works. The question is if there is a better way to make it work? since this method call many times and slow my program. • Translate ImageButton from C# to XAML

  I worked out the C# code to create an ImageButton (below) that has three images (one base-image and two overlays) and three text boxes as the face of the button. I am inheriting from the Button class, which unfortunately includes several components that I didn't realize would surface until after coding and need to remove, namely the bright-blue surrounding border on IsMouseOver, and any visible borders between the buttons, as the buttons will end up in a wrapPanel and the borders need to be seamless. Now that the format has been worked out in C#, I expect that I need to translate to XAML so that I can create a ControlTemplate to get the functionality necessary, however I am not certain as to the process of translating from C# to XAML. • cannot get ip address on a virtual machine

  so i have a code which gets me the ip address of a machine i am wroking on. so if my gui is published on the server and i access it from my local machine it gives me tha address of my local machine and when i access the gui from the server itself it gives me the server address.. which is fine. (For whatever reason, I can't get the above line to display correctly, but there is no space between the `< and img) Can anyone point out what is wrong with it? Aside from the pattern matching, I assure you the line is verbatim from the webpage. Another question I had is the ability to match across line breaks. Is there any possible way to do this? The reason why I ask is because on that same page, a few of the things I need to match are broken up on separate lines, and since the actual pattern I'm wanting to match shows up in other places on the page, I need to be able to match across line breaks to get the exact pattern. I appreciate any help in this matter!
