How to link a table to a field a in MySQL server

I have this data from a xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <words> <id>...</id> <word>...</word> <meaning>...</meaning> <translation> <ES>...</ES> <PT>...</PT> </translation> </words> This forms the table named "words", which has four fields ("id","word","meaning" and "translation"). On the other hand, the "translation" field can hold several languages like ES,PT,EN,JA,KO,etc... So I create a table ("words.translation", one field is "id" and the others ones are languages ids like "ES","PT",...). I'm sorry for this newby question, but I'd like to know a couple of things about this one-to-many relationship. How to join (or link?) this two tables in MySQL? What information does the "translation" field in the "words" table has to store? How is the sql query to get all the word information (JOIN syntax used?) Thanks for your patience.

Displaying NON-ASCII Characters using HttpClient

But i dont seem to get non-ascii characters with me. all i get is diamonds with question mark. characters like this: å, appears like this: ? I doubt its because of the charset, what could it then be? Hi, I am trying to develop a java http client with apache httpcomponents 4.0.1. This client calls the page "https://myHost/myPage". This page is protected on the server by a JNDIRealm with a login form authentication, so when I try to get https://myHost/myPage I get a login page. WCF cross-domain policy security error

Hello everyone, I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + WCF + .Net 3.5 + Silverlight 3.0. I host Silverlight control in an html page and debug it from VSTS 2008 (press F5, then run in VSTS 2008 built-in ASP.Net development web server), then call another WCF service (hosted in another machine running IIS 7.0 + Vista). The WCF service is very simple, just return a constant string to client. When invoking the WCF service from Silverlight, I got the following error message, An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'https://LabTest/Test.svc'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details. MS Office Excel Ribbon - Cannot change/hide Editing group in Home tab

I have a .net addin for Excel. The addin creates the Ribbon UI for Excel 2007 and re-purposes some existing commands such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Sort etc. For Cut, Copy and Paste I am just overriding their OnAction value to call my own procedure when the buttons are clicked. But for Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc commands the case is a little different. When either of the Sort, Sort Asc or Sort Desc buttons are clicked, I want to get notified and then call the default functionality. This was possible in Excel 2003 commandsbars by calling the Execute() method on the CommandBarControl. In Excel 2007, there is a ExecuteMso() method to programmatically click a ribbon element but when the OnAction is overridden, this ExecuteMso() method just executes my own procedure and not the default functionality of that button. So I thought that I will HIDE the Sort buttons in the "Editing" group in Home tab and add my own Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc buttons to it. The buttons will call into my procedure first from where I will call the default behavior. Now the problem is that I am unable to change/hide the Editing group (idMso="GroupEditing"). Is this built-in group not editable? How do I apply a parameter to a select and order attribute in a xsl:sort element? Can't get jQuery to wokr with Prototype - tried everything....

Ok so here is the situation. Been pulling my hair out on this one. I'm a noob at this. Only been using rails for about 6 weeks. I'm using the standard setup package, and my code leverages prototype helpers heavily. Like I said, noob ;) So I'm trying to put in some jQuery effects, like PrettyPhoto. But what happens is that when the page is first loaded, PrettyPhoto works great. However, once someone uses a Prototype helper, like a link created with link_to_remote, Prettyphoto stops working. I've tried jRails, all of the fixes proposed on the JQuery site to stop conflicts... http://docs.jquery.com/Using_jQuery_with_Other_Libraries ...even done some crazy things likes renaming all of the $ in prototype.js to $$$ to no avail. Either the prototype helpers break, or jQuery breaks. Seems nothing I do can get these to work together. Any ideas? SSRS 2008 - Sending report as email

Hi all, What I want to do is render a SSRS 2008 report as HTML (actually MHTML) and send that as the body in an email. Has anyone done this? I've almost got it (I think) but I seem to have a encoding problem. The email shows up as what looks like some sort of base64 encoding. I have a web service of method: public String printEchoStr(String str); I am facing problem while creating action script to call this service. What is the performance impact of CSS's universal selector?

I'm trying to find some simple client-side performance tweaks in a page that receives millions of monthly pageviews. One concern that I have is the use of the CSS universal selector (*). Silverlight ClientAccessPolicy issue...I think

Fisrt of all I have my ClientAccessPolicy.xml file in the root of my website. If I access my website using the public domain name like this: h t t p://www.mydomain.com and then go to the page where my SL control is, I get the spinning % numbers up until about 98%, then it quits and my SL control does not appear on the page. If I access my website using the machine name (website is at datacenter, we have vpn setup) like this: h t t p://machinename and then go to the page where my SL control is everything works fine. this must be a ClientAccess Policy issue don't your think? Or what DO you thnik the issue is? Thanks in advance. Location of Embedly (JQuery-Preview) Results

Embedly/Jquery-Preview has been fantastic. However, I'm trying to change the location of the preview result, and having trouble. Right now, the result appears right below the input field...but I'd rather have it in a separate part of the page. Is there a way to do this? I've tried changing the location of the selector and loading divs, but that hasn't helped. It seems to ignore those divs and put it right below the submit button. My XML Looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <projects> <project id="1" thumb="media/images/thumb.jpg" > <categories> <id>1</id> <id>2</id> </categories> <director>Director name</director> <name><![CDATA[IPhone commercial]]></name> <url><![CDATA[http://www.iphone.com]]></url> <description><![CDATA[Description about the project]]></description> <thumb><![CDATA[/upload/images/thumb.jpg]]></thumb> </project> </projects> But I cannot figure out how to filter projects based on a category id? Does anybody know how to do ? :) Something like: projects.project.(categories.(id == 3)) Just returns all items :(

Rows added to table are not showing up

This has been asked before, but I have found no solution that worked for me yet: When adding rows to a table from code, the rows are not showing up in the application. There is one row I specified in XML, that one is showing up, but nothing below it. php + MySQL editing table data.

This question is relating to 2 php scripts. The first script is called pick_modcontact.php where I choose a contact (from a contact book like phone book), then posts to the script show_modcontact.php When I click the submit button on the form on pick.modcontact.php. As a result of submitting the form I am then taken to show_modcontact.php. As the variables are not present the user is directed back to pick_modcontact.php I can not work out how to correct the code so that it will show the results of the script show_modcontact.php This script shows all contacts in a database which is an "address book" this part works fine. please see below. Center label instance inside VGroup in Flex

Hi all I am trying to center my labels below my image inside my VGroup. The labels are align to left now and it seems like HorizontalAlign is not working on spark component. Anyone knows how to fix it?
