• Coding Conventions - Naming Enums

    - by Walter White
Hi all, Is there a document describing how to name enumerations? My preference is that an enum is a type. So, for instance, you have an enum Fruit{Apple,Orange,Banana,Pear, ... } NetworkConnectionType{LAN,Data_3g,Data_4g, ... } I am opposed to naming it: FruitEnum NetworkConnectionTypeEnum I understand it is easy to pick off which files are enums, but then you would also have: NetworkConnectionClass FruitClass Also, is there a good document describing the same for constants, where to declare them, etc.? • Proving the ROI of a technology?

    - by leeand00
How does one prove the ROI of a technology to their manager? The closest thing I have found to a document on how to do this is: http://www.agilejournal.com/pdf/Finding-ROI-in-Build-Automation.pdf There are formulas in this document, but I can't really tell if they are just alot of marketing or if they are accurate formulas on how to calculate ROI. I'm not really trying to calculate the ROI of the build tool in the above paper, I was just trying to calculate the ROI of a simple build tool like ANT.

  • replace html tags within xml content with wordML formatting tags

    - by Josh
I am taking an XML document and creating a word document using XSLT and OpenXML. The problem is that when I create the word document, all of the HTML that is within the CDATA tags are not escaped and look like this: GET /recipe/recipe/cat.php/>"><script>alert(document.domain)</script> I have tried defining "cdata-section-elements" in my xsl:output; however I receive an error stating that p tag doesn't match the w:t tag.(the p tag is apart of the CDATA HTML). Here is what one of my xsl templates looks like: <xsl:template match="SECTION"> <w:p w:rsidR="00272D24" w:rsidRPr="00272D24" w:rsidRDefault="00272D24"> <w:pPr> <w:rPr> <w:rFonts w:ascii="Arial" w:hAnsi="Arial" w:cs="Arial"/> </w:rPr> </w:pPr> </xsl:template> <w:r w:rsidRPr="00272D24"> <w:rPr> <w:rFonts w:ascii="Arial" w:hAnsi="Arial" w:cs="Arial"/> </w:rPr> <w:t> <xsl:value-of select="INFORMATION"/> </w:t> </w:r> </w:p> Here is what the xml looks like: <INFORMATION>
line 1 of information
line 2 of information....... </INFORMATION> Here is what the word output looks like: (white space and poor formatting) DIAGNOSIS:
line 1 of information.
line 2 of information I need to be able to somehow render the HTML or strip out the HTML. If I strip out the HTML then I would have to search for every possible HTML element, which is madness! Any help at all would be appreciated... Thanks.

  • Why .data() function of jQuery is better to prevent memory leaks?

    - by burak ozdogan
Hi, Regarding to jQuery utility function jQuery.data() the online documentation says: "The jQuery.data() method allows us to attach data of any type to DOM elements in a way that is safe from circular references and therefore from memory leaks. " Why to use: document.body.foo = 52; can result a memory leak -or in what conditions- so that I should use jQuery.data(document.body, 'foo', 52); Should I ALWAYS prefer .data() instead of using expandos in any case? (I would appreciate if you can provide an example to compare the differences) Thanks, burak ozdogan

G'day guys, I'm currently using fasterCSV to parse a CSV file in ruby, and wondering how to get rid of the initial row of data on a CSV (The initial row contains the time/date information generated by another software package) I tried using fasterCSV.table and then deleting row(0) then converting it to a CSV document then parsing it but the row was still present in the document. Any other ideas? fTable = FasterCSV.table("sto.csv", :headers => true) fTable.delete(0)

  • Included php file calling Javascript function

    - by Illes Peter
Hi there! Here's the deal. I've got index.php which links to an internal JS file in it's header. index.php then includes another .php file, which outputs this: + add file. addFile() is a Javascript function defined in the external JS file. By doing this nothing happens, the included php does not "see" the JS function. Encapsulating the JS in the included PHP makes it all work. But I don't want to do it that way. Any ideas? EDIT: here's the source

Archie

... ... //included php starts here <fieldset>

+ add file </fieldset> //ends here ... ...

and the js:

  • Cross-Domain iframe communication

    - by Chris
I have an iframe being created on a page, and the page's domain is being explicitly set to 'xyz.com' but the iframe's domain is defaulting to 'dev.xyz.com', which is the actual domain i'm developing for. The problem is, when I try to access that iframe via iframe.contentWindow.document, it fails due to the difference in domain. I've tried setting the iframe's src to a file with document.domain = 'xyz.com' but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick... Any ideas?

Document.GetElementById() doesn't work, and Document. All[""] doesn't work (obviously, because there is no ID. How can I simulate a form post? Question 1 is more important because I found it harder to search. Question 2 I think i can get with more searching.

  • Another serialization ? - c#

    - by ltech
    I had asked this Yesterday If my xsd schema changes to <xs:element name="Document" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="MetaDoc" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="ATTRIBUTES" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="author" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> <xs:element name="max_versions" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> <xs:element name="summary" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> My xsd - class generation becomes /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArrayAttribute(Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArrayItemAttribute("MetaDoc", typeof(DocumentMetaDocATTRIBUTES[]), Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified, IsNullable=false)] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArrayItemAttribute("ATTRIBUTES", typeof(DocumentMetaDocATTRIBUTES), Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified, IsNullable=false, NestingLevel=1)] public DocumentMetaDocATTRIBUTES[][][] Document { get { return this.documentField; } set { this.documentField = value; } } If I am deriving to CollectionBase, as shown in my previous post, how would I manage the XmlArrayItemAttribute ? so that I can read this part of my input xml into my strongly types object <Document> <MetaDoc> <ATTRIBUTES>
<max_versions>1</max_versions>
aasasqqqq
</ATTRIBUTES> </MetaDoc> </Document>

  • Is there a way to synchronize sections of different Word documents? Alternatives?

    - by David Hodgson
Hi, I'm working on how my company does documentation (especially programming documentation). I'd like to be able to synchronize sections of different Word documents, such that if a section in one document changes, the change is reflected in the other document, and vice versa. Is there a way to do this with Word, and if not, is there some word processing program that is good at this?
