• mysql query: SELECT DISTINCT column1, GROUP BY column2

  Right now I have the following query: SELECT name, COUNT(name), time, price, ip, SUM(price) FROM tablename WHERE time >= $yesterday AND time <$today GROUP BY name And what I'd like to do is add a DISTINCT by column 'ip', i.e. SELECT DISTINCT ip FROM tablename So my final output would be all the columns, from all the rows that where time is today, grouped by name (with name count for each repeating name) and no duplicate ip addresses. What should my query look like? (or alternatively, how can I add the missing filter to the output with php)? Thanks in advance.

• R glm standard error estimate differences to SAS PROC GENMOD

  I am converting a SAS PROC GENMOD example into R, using glm in R. The SAS code was: proc genmod data=data0 namelen=30; model boxcoxy=boxcoxxy ~ AGEGRP4 + AGEGRP5 + AGEGRP6 + AGEGRP7 + AGEGRP8 + RACE1 + RACE3 + WEEKEND + SEQ/dist=normal; FREQ REPLICATE_VAR; run; My R code is: parmsg2 <- glm(boxcoxxy ~ AGEGRP4 + AGEGRP5 + AGEGRP6 + AGEGRP7 + AGEGRP8 + RACE1 + RACE3 + WEEKEND + SEQ , data=data0, family=gaussian, weights = REPLICATE_VAR) When I use summary(parmsg2) I get the same coefficient estimates as in SAS, but my standard errors are wildly different. I have found a formula to calculate the Wald confidence intervals in R, but this is pointless given the difference in the standard errors, as I will not get the same results. Apparently SAS uses a ridge-stabilized Newton-Raphson algorithm for its estimates, which are ML. The information I read about the glm function in R is that the results should be equivalent to ML. What can I do to change my estimation procedure in R so that I get the equivalent coefficents and standard error estimates that were produced in SAS? To update, thanks to Spacedman's answer, I used weights because the data are from individuals in a dietary survey, and REPLICATE_VAR is a balanced repeated replication weight, that is an integer (and quite large, in the order of 1000s or 10000s). The website that describes the weight is here. I don't know why the FREQ rather than the WEIGHT command was used in SAS. I will now test by expanding the number of observations using REPLICATE_VAR and rerunning the analysis.

  Does anyone know if there is a way I can dynamically load and unload a TinyMCE plugin after TinyMCE has already been loaded?   I am sanitizing an input field and manually getting and setting the caret position in the process. Basically I'd like a way to see if the sanitize function has actually replaced a character (and at what index) so then I can adjust the charPosition if necessary. Any ideas?

  I need to do some regex replacement on HTML input, but I need to exclude some parts from filtering by other regexp. (e.g. remove all <a> tags with specific href="example.com…, except the ones that are inside the <form> tag) Is there any smart regex technique for this? Or do I have to find all forms using $regex1, then split the input to the smaller chunks, excluding the matched text blocks, and then run the $regex2 on all the chunks?

  For an app I'm working on, I'd like to have a control panel window and a video output window to use for projecting video with an attached projector. I have built many Flash applications but this will be my first time using AIR so I have some questions. Is it possible to have two seperate windows as part of one AIR application? Can one of the windows (the video output) be in full-screen mode while the other window stays normal? How does AIR do with playing local video? Will there be crashes or choppy playback? Is there a better language option for what I'm trying to accomplish?

  I have a piece of code and I could not figure out why it is giving me Exception in thread "main" java.lang.StackOverflowError. This is the question: Given a positive integer n, prints out the sum of the lengths of the Syracuse sequence starting in the range of 1 to n inclusive.   I am trying to do this in one query. I asked a similar question a few days ago but my personal requirements have changed. I have a game type website where users can attend "classes". There are three tables in my DB. I am using MySQL. I have four tables: hl_classes (int id, int professor, varchar class, text description) hl_classes_lessons (int id, int class_id, varchar lessonTitle, varchar lexiconLink, text lessonData) hl_classes_answers (int id, int lesson_id, int student, text submit_answer, int percent) hl_classes stores all of the classes on the website. The lessons are the individual lessons for each class. A class can have infinite lessons. Each lesson is available in a specific term. hl_classes_terms stores a list of all the terms and the current term has the field active = '1'. When a user submits their answers to a lesson it is stored in hl_classes_answers. A user can only answer each lesson once. Lessons have to be answered sequentially. All users attend all "classes". What I am trying to do is grab the next lesson for each user to do in each class. When the users start they are in term 1. When they complete all 10 lessons in each class they move on to term 2. When they finish lesson 20 for each class they move on to term 3. Let's say we know the term the user is in by the PHP variable $term. So this is my query I am currently trying to massage out but it doesn't work. Specifically because of the hC.id is unknown in the WHERE clause SELECT hC.id, hC.class, (SELECT MIN(output.id) as nextLessonID FROM ( SELECT id, class_id FROM hl_classes_lessons hL WHERE hL.class_id = hC.id ORDER BY hL.id LIMIT $term,10 ) as output WHERE output.id NOT IN (SELECT lesson_id FROM hl_classes_answers WHERE student = $USER_ID)) as nextLessonID FROM hl_classes hC My logic behind this query is first to For each class; select all of the lessons in the term the current user is in. From this sort out the lessons the user has already done and grab the MINIMUM id of the lessons yet to be done. This will be the lesson the user has to do. I just set up an account with github and I followed all their instructions flawlessly until I got to the last command of git push origin master Upon entering this command, I get the error message "fatal: No path specified. See 'man git-pull' for valid url syntax." If I type in git origin show the output I see is origin.   I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

• Changing content of HTMLDocument displayed in a JTextPane

  I'm displaying some tables as HTML code (rendered by a Freemarker template) with a JTextPane. I also have some HTML links in this HTML output which can be used to interact with the values of the table (For example "Delete a row" and stuff like this). Currently I always recreate the whole HTML output on each change and replace the whole document in the JTextPane with the new one. This is getting really slow and the JTextPane always changes the scroll position when I do this. Is it possible to change only parts of the HTML code during runtime without replacing the whole document? In a real browser I would use the DOM and do something like document.getElementById("price").innerHTML = "$123.44". Is something like that possible with the HTMLDocument in a JTextPane?

• How can I graph the Lines of Code history for git repo?

  Basically I want to get the number of lines-of-code in the repository after each commit. The only (really crappy) ways I have found is to use git filter-branch to run "wc -l *", and a script that run git reset --hard on each commit, then ran wc -l To make it a bit clearer, when the tool is run, it would output the lines of code of the very first commit, then the second and so on..   This is a dumb problem but I can't seem to set the padding on a submit button properly. No matter what I input for padding, the width and height of the button never changes. I would like to pass a string to the Save method and have it gzip the string and upload it to Amazon S3 without ever being written to disk. The current method inefficiently reads/writes to disk in between.   I have the following tables in a database (i'll only list the important attributes): Person(ssn,countryofbirth) Parents(ssn,fatherbirthcountry) Employment(ssn, companyID) Company(companyID, name) My task is this: given fatherbirthcountry as input, output the names of companies where persons work whose countryofbirth match the fatherbirthcountry input. I pretend that the fatherbirthcountry is Mexico and do this: SELECT name FROM Company WHERE companyid = (SELECT companyid FROM Employment WHERE ssn = (SELECT ssn FROM Person WHERE countryofbirth = 'Mexico'); but it is giving me an error: >Scalar subquery is only allowed to return a single row. am I completely off track? Also how do i sort the values so that i get the output as 23=17 22=31 21=31 (if 2 keys have same value then key with higher value come first)
