  • Printable Version of Google Visualizations DataTable

    I have a custom routing application that takes information for a route from google maps. It then creates a Google Visualizations DataTable to hold all the steps in the route. My current problem is that in order to reduce overflow for very large routes, I have enabled paging in the options of the DataTable. This leads to a not so printer friendly version because only the portion of the data that is shown in the table will be printed. The other portions of the table are loaded dynamically by the API when you click prev and next. Is there a not so hard way to get the DataTable to be printer friendly when it comes time without sacrificing the ability to have paging enabled?

I'm writing code based on two popular libraries: jQuery underscore.js I am just wondering what would be the best way to isolate the code and prevent conflicts and how to merge it with its dependencies.   • How to force a line break in a loooooong word in a DIV?

    Okay, this is really confusing me. I have some content inside of a div like so: <div style="background-color: green; width: 200px; height: 300px;"> Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest.Thisisatest. </div> However, the content overflows the DIV (as expected) because the 'word' is too long. How can I force the browser to 'break' the word where necessary to fit all of the content inside?

  • Element Positioning affected by Browser Screen Resolution Change

    Hello, newbie developer here. There's this small problem I always encounter. Every time I try to change browser resolution (or what do you call the event when you scroll the mouse wheel while pressing ctrl), some elements (Mostly form elements) get to be shifted down or somewhere else, which does not conform with the original positioning. Im not sure if the problem is with the CSS or the markup itself and Im not really sure if this is much of a problem. Should I ignore it? (It doesn't feel very comfortable though, thinking that it might become problematic in the near future) Otherwise, any solution on how to avoid this? Simple explanations are very much appreciated, Thanks. (Perhaps the used term newbie should be replaced with noob?. Haha.)

  • Editing Neo Slider to move in one direction

    I have a website with brandspace theme from pixelentity. Currently, the slider move from right to left ( auto transition) . But, when the slider reaches the last image, it will go back to the first image by making all previous images sliding back from left to right. I want to make the slider to have a normal transition,i.e. going back to first image but still with the image sliding from right to left. For example: <div id='id1'><div id='id2'>content</div></div> I attach event to DIVs event handler using jQuery: $('div').click(function () { //some code }); There will be two events when user click on content. So there will be two simultaneous events. Is it possible to get inside event handler array of objects (DIVs) what have click event? May be it is possible using other framework but jQuery?

    Can someone show me how to get the .top & .left position of a div or span tag when one is not specified? ie: <span id='11a' style='top:55px;' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> <span id='12a' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> In the above, if i do: document.getElementById('11a').style.top The the value of 55px is returned. However if i try that for span '12a', then nothing gets returned. I have a bunch of div/spans on a page that i cannot specify the top/left properties for, but i need to display a div directly under that element. Thanks for lookin :-)

    I have a strange Problem with table formating using IE 7. My table looks like this: In IE, when using border-collapse, the borders don't get displayed correctly. That's why I used this fix: .table-vmlist td { border-top: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-status, tr.row-details td { border-left: 1px solid black; } td.col-vm-rdp, tr.row-details td { border-right: 1px solid black; } .table-vmlist { border-bottom: 1px solid black;} When hovering over the row, it gets highlighted with CSS: .table-vmlist tr.row-vm { background-color: #A4C3EF; } .table-vmlist tr.row-vm:hover { background-color: #91BAEF; } Now, in IE 7, when moving the mouse from the top to the bottom of the list, every row gets highlighted correctly and no problems happen. But if I move my mouse pointer from the bottom of the list to the top, every second row seems to loose the border. Can someone explain what the problem is, and how to solve it?   • Double Slash at end of URL when going to HTTPS?

    My site currently uses http and https sections based on the data being collected on the site (form data uses https). On my index page, I have the PHP code at the top: <?php session_start(); ob_start(); if( $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] == 443) { header('Location:http://'.$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF'])); die(); } ?> However, the page will not load and I get a 404 error. Similarly, when i visit the sections with https security using the head code: <?php session_start(); ob_start(); if( $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] == 80) { header('Location:https://'.$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']).'/'.basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF'])); die(); } ?> The site does not respond AND for some reason creates a double slash when switching from http to https. Example: http://www.abc.com/, then clicking button which should route to enroll.php shows http://www.abc.com//enroll.php why the need for the double slash and can anybody help with the 404 errors?

    Hi - I'm using DataTables to dress up a table I'm using to display XML results based on an XSL transformation. I have everything working from a technical sense (paging, sorting, filtering), but I'm trying to figure out to use a ThemeRoller theme to make it look like they have on their website. So far, I have added the following file to my project with its reference: <link type="text/css" href="css/custom-theme/jquery-ui-1.8.7.custom.css" rel="stylesheet"/> and enabled ThemeRoller themes using the following as per the DataTables website: $(document).ready(function() { $('#mainTable').dataTable( { "bJQueryUI": true, "sPaginationType": "two_button" }); }); The table gets styled, but it doesn't look right with the header rows being too wide and things being on multiple lines that should be on one line. Any indication as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks very much in advance.

    I have the following tag: <script type="text/javascript" src="https://cdn.example.com/js_file.js"></script> In this case the site is HTTPS, but the site may also be just HTTP. (The JS file is on another domain.) I'm wondering if it's valid to do the following for convenience sake: <script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.example.com/js_file.js"></script> I'm wondering if it's valid to remove the http: or https: ? It seems to work everywhere I have tested, but are there any cases where it doesn't work?

It's been running fine until I tried to populate the posts for the 6th time with caff content. It got broke and I don't know how to fix it.     I'm relatively new to CSS, and have used it to change the style and formatting of text. I would now like to use it to insert text as shown below: <span class="OwnerJoe">reconcile all entries</span> Which I hope I could get to show as: Joe's Task: reconcile all entries That is, simply by virtue of being of class "Owner Joe", I want the text Joe's Task: to be displayed. I could do it with code like: <span class="OwnerJoe">Joe's Task:</span> reconcile all entries. But that seems awfully redundant to both specify the class and the text. Is it possible to do what I'm looking for? EDIT One idea is to try to set it up as a ListItem <li> where the "bullet" is the text "Joe's Task". I see examples of how to set various bullet-styles and even images for bullets. Is it possible to use a small block of text for the list-bullet?
