  • Trying to create fields based on a case statement

    I'm having some trouble with the query below. I am trying to determine if the "category" field is A, B or C and then creating a field based on the category. That field would sum up payments field. But I'm running into error saying "incorrect syntax near keyword As". I am creating this in a SQL View. Using SQL Server 2008 SELECT r.id, r.category CASE WHEN r.category = 'A' then SUM(r.payment) As A_payments WHEN r.category = 'B' then SUM(r.payment) As B_payments WHEN r.category = 'C' then SUM(r.payment) As C_payments END FROM r_invoiceTable As r GROUP BY r.id, r.category I have data where all of the above cases should be executed because the data that I have has A,B and C Sample Data- r_invoiceTable Id --- Category ---- Payment 222 A ---- 50 444 A ---- 30 111 B ---- 90 777 C ---- 20 555 C ---- 40 Desired Output A_payments = 80, B_payments = 90, C_payments = 60

  • Does CHECK TABLE add read/write locks?

    Hi, Yesterday I ran CHECK TABLE on a table that is read very frequently. I scanned the MySQL documentation for CHECK TABLE for any mentions of "lock" (and found none) and also noticed that only SELECT privilege was required to run the command. I therefor concluded that the command did not do any read lock and was safe to run even in production. Sadly, running the command took 1 minute and 37 seconds and seemed to block all read access. My question is therefor, does CHECK TABLE do any read lock? Any other reason why I experienced a read block on the table? Thanks

    I am looking for a way to add a button to a JQuery buttonset at runtime with javascript. if(response.success) { var menuItem = document.createElement('a'); $(menuItem).attr('href', response.href); $(menuItem).attr('category-id', response.id); $(menuItem).text(title); $("#menu-buttonset").append(menuItem); } I am adding the hyperlink to the div container of the buttonset using javascript, and then re-calling buttonset() on the container. $("#menu-buttonset").buttonset(); This however does not seem to rebuild the buttonset as I expected. I am not seeing any function in the JQuery API for this either. Can anyone provide some insight?

    I need to add some code to the of several html contained in a folder on my desktop. How can i do that? I am using a prototyping tool (Axure) on Mac and I want to add some html meta tags to the generated pages. These pages can be overwritten every time I generate the prototype. What I need is a sort of script that I can launch after re-generating the prototype, to reinsert the code.   • E2K7: Can't add jounaling mailbox to storage group

    We just added a new SG to a standalone E2K7 server but Exchange pops an error when we try to enable journaling on it. The journal recipient mailbox was created a while back and as far as we can tell there are no issues with it. It's viewable in the GAL and accessible through OWA. The error is: Set-Mailboxdatabase Error:Obkect "domain.company.com/Journaling/Journal5" could not be found. Please make sure that it was spelled correctly or specify a different object. This Journal5 account is in a child domain (like all the other journaling mailboxes we have attached to other mailbox server SGs). We also tried attaching one of the working journaling mailboxes to this SG but they also popped back the same error. Event log is now showing any errors at all. We are running SP1 on this server. I've tried dismounting/remounting the store and bouncing the IS and SA services but that didn't help any. Any suggestions?

  • Haskell Add Function Return to List Until Certain Length

    I want to write a function which takes a list and constructs a subset of that list of a certain length based on the output of a function. If I were simply interested in the first 50 elements of the sorted list xs, then I would use fst (splitAt 50 (sort xs)). However, the problem is that elements in my list rely on other elements in the same list. If I choose element p, then I MUST also choose elements q and r, even if they are not in the first 50 elements of my list. I am using a function finderFunc which takes an element a from the list xs and returns a list with the element a and all of its required elements. finderFunc works fine. Now, the challenge is to write a function which builds a list whose total length is 50 based on multiple outputs of finderFunc. Here is my attempt at this: finish :: [a] -> [a] -> [a] --This is the base case, which adds nothing to the final list finish [] fs = [] --The function is recursive, so the fs variable is necessary so that finish -- can forward the incomplete list to itself. finish ps fs -- If the final list fs is too small, add elements to it | length fs < 50 && length (fs ++ newrs) <= 50 = fs ++ finish newps newrs -- If the length is met, then add nothing to the list and quit | length fs >= 50 = finish [] fs -- These guard statements are currently lacking, not the main problem | otherwise = finish [] fs where --Sort the candidate list sortedps = sort ps --(finderFunc a) returns a list of type [a] containing a and all the -- elements which are required to go with it. This is the interesting -- bit. rs is also a subset of the candidate list ps. rs = finderFunc (head sortedps) --Remove those elements which are already in the final list, because -- there can be overlap newrs = filter (`notElem` fs) rs --Remove the elements we will add to the list from the new list -- of candidates newps = filter (`notElem` rs) ps I realize that the above if statements will, in some cases, not give me a list of exactly 50 elements. This is not the main problem, right now. The problem is that my function finish does not work at all as I would expect it to. Not only does it produce duplicate elements in the output list, but it sometimes goes far above the total number of elements I want to have in the list. The way this is written, I usually call it with an empty list, such as: finish xs [], so that the list it builds on starts as an empty list.

  • Oracle SQL: Multiple Subqueries Unioned Without Running Original Query Multiple Times.

    So I've got a very large database, and need to work on a subset ~1% of the data to dump into an excel spreadsheet to make a graph. Ideally, I could select out the subset of data and then run multiple select queries on that, which are then UNION'ed together. Is this even possible? I can't seem to find anyone else trying to do this and would improve the performance of my current query quite a bit. Right now I have something like this: SELECT ( SELECT ( SELECT( long list of requirements ) UNION SELECT( slightly different long list of requirements ) ) ) and it would be nice if i could group the commonalities of the two long requirements and have simple differences between the two select statements being unioned.

I know from debugging that es isn't null.     I'm using sql server 2008 R2 and would like to apply unique key constraint to nullable columns. This code works good, but if I have multiple columns to add this rule to, it would generate as many 'nullbuster' columns. ALTER TABLE tblBranch ADD nullbuster AS (CASE WHEN column1 IS NULL THEN BranchID ELSE NULL END); CREATE UNIQUE INDEX UK_Column1 ON tblBranch(column1,nullbuster); tblBranch is the table name, nullbuster would be the new column name, BranchId is the Primary key column of the target table, and Column1 is the column name of the target column. Is there any way that I could achieve the goal without generating new columns.

  • Correct Path for Git Remote Add from Amazon EC2 Instance to OSX Client Machine

    I'm trying to do a git remote add from a repository that sits on a remote Amazon AMI back to a cloned copy of the SAME repository that is sitting on my local OSX machine. I'm confused about what file path to use. I assume it's something like: git remote add my_clone <OSX_User_Name>@<OSX_HOST_NAME>:<PATH_TO_CLONED_REPO> I obviously know what my <OSX_User_Name> is, and I can figure out my <PATH_TO_CLONED_REPO>, but I have no idea how to determine a <OSX_HOST_NAME> that would actually work. Can I just put in my external IP address, followed by my machine's internal IP address? (Note that I'm working behind a router.) Is ssh:// the correct protocol? Do I need to set up ssh access from the Amazon EC2 machine to the local OSX machine?

    I would like to distinguish date at midnight (i.e. '12/05/2010 00:00:00') from date without time specified (i.e. '12/05/2010'). This value is provided by user, sometimes it is only date which is important, sometimes it is date and time and later the application is expected to show the time only when it was explicitly provided. So for the following inputs I would expect the following outputs: for '12/05/2010' I would expect '12/05/2010' for '12/05/2010 09:23' I would expect '12/05/2010 09:23' for '12/05/2010 00:00' I would expect '12/05/2010 00:00' I know I can model it in two separate columns, date and time, but I was wondering was there any way of handling this in single date column?
