  • Favourite Open Source iPhone apps

    - by objektivs
I'm an aspiring iPhone developer and I'm looking for a significant OS iPhone codebase to see how others build apps. I'm especially interested in examples exhibiting some or all of the following: business/enterprise apps apps that interact with web services apps utilising XML apps using oauth or other authenticate Personally, I'm less interested in games, but feel free to include any examples for the benefit of others. I'm asking here because the usual places I've been looking (i.e. sourceforge) don't seem to have the kind of examples I'm looking for.

  • keyboard interaction with Cocoa?

    - by mactonny
Hey guys, I am trying do write an application(server) which receives the keyboard instructions from the client and execute them on the server end. It's more like those screen recorders which records your keyboard and mouse events and replay them. For example, you pull up a textedit on the server, type whatever you like on the client and you can see those letters on the server. I have no clues what materials I should look into, any suggestions?

  • Application lifetime in ASP.NET

    - by fearofawhackplanet
This should be a simple question but I haven't managed to find the answer on google. I would like to know, in terms an idiot can understand, exactly what application lifetime means in ASP.NET (and therefore when you can expect application start and end events to run). I assumed it would be when you run and stop the app in IIS, but I've read things that suggest it's related to number of requests.

  • Java me : Can we retrieve bluetooth address of connected device from an open slave connection ?

    - by Rohit
Here is a typical sequence of events that occur : Host device opens a service ( Host device accepts and opens all incoming connections) A remote device connects to host device. Now, we have a slave connection open at host device. At host device, I want to know the bluetooth address of remote device. I can always pass it as data from remote to host device, but can I extract it from connection object somehow without any data transfer? Thanks in advance...

  • iPhone - nested views & controllers

    - by codemonkey
Is it possible to have a single iPhone screen with its view loaded from a xib by that screen's UIViewController, but then another UIView within that screen with content loaded from a separate xib file? If so, is it possible to have that nested view's events handled by a separate custom UIViewController subclass from the rest of the screen? If both of these things are possible, are they also advisable?

    - by Qwibble

I've currently set all bottom margins to 0 so as to find what's causing it, I then scoured ie developer tools but came up empty. Here's the homepage design hosted on my web design playground - Link Can anyone see the remedy?

  • jQuery UI Droppable: Detect which draggables are dropped on an element?

    - by Rosarch
I have the jQuery UI framework's draggable and droppable elements working. I would like to programmatically determine which draggable elements are currently dropped on which droppable elements. Is there an easy way to do this? I thought of using event listeners to detect drop and out events, then keep a dictionary or something in memory to keep track, but this seems contrived. Better ideas?

Where are they? If they aren't available, how do I achieve this?

  • Best real "computer crime"?

    - by c0m4
Are there any real stories about computer crime? I'm talking about stuff like in "Office Space", stealing fractions of pennies a couple of million times... Like that, only actual events. And not Captain Crunch, please, making phone calls for free does not count. No, actual robberies or super smart frauds that depended on computer technology to some extent. Links or books for further reading please.

  • Open source equivelants to VS / web reference proxy classes?

    - by seraphym
As an ASP.NET developer, I'm used to working with how VS/C# transparently autogens proxy classes for web references (yes, I know, we're spoiled), but now that I'm creating documentation for more than one coding platform I'm trying to discover what the equivelant to that is in any other framework. So is there a similar way to work transparently with web reference proxy classes for say, RoR, PHP, and Python? And if there's nothing integrated, are there tools you recommend to autogen the proxy classes, or do you recommend to roll custom classes?

I haven't done any Windows embedded programming or .net compact edition before and would appreciate link to good tutorial or info on how to start developing for Windows CE 6.0 enabled POS terminal or device. • WPF: Notify visualParent when its children changed their size

    - by minaevs
I have FrameworkElement, for example Grid, that has children(Cells, implemented in another control). When main Window changes size, i handle sizeChanged in Grid at first, and after that in some of its children. How can i get notify that all children sizeChanged events finished processing? Of course, i can raise other event in child sizeChanged and increase some counter, but for some reasons it is not the best decision. Can anyone recommend something? Thanks!
