  MySQL 5.5.8 uninstall MAC OS 10.6.5,restart computer is message “/Library/StartupItems/MySQLCOM” has not been started because it does not have the proper security settings. i set sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server Locate the configuration defining the basedir and set the following : basedir=/usr/local/mysql datadir=/usr/local/mysql/data bug i click the mysql preference start mysql server isn't start and i sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/StartupItems/MySQLCOM and restart again ,not warning message but mysql server not start ,why?

  I know it is rather heated question. But anyway I'd like to hear opinions of those in Stackoverflow. Given that XML support is quite good in SQL Server 2005/2008, and there's no concern about database independency, why one need Linq-to-SQL, Entity Framework, NHibernate and the likes, which are quite complex and awkward in advanced use-cases, if by using POCOs, XmlSerializer, and stored procedures which process XML, one can achieve a lot less complex middle-tier?   In Lisp, evaluating '(+ 1 2) produces '(+ 1 2), not 3. It seems that HTML doesn't support Lisp-style quotation so you can't say something like <quote><b>not bold</b</quote in HTML and let it just produce <b>not bold</b instead of not bold. Is there any technical reason or historical reason for that? Thanks.

Some of my models depend on database transactions, and I would like to write some tests for their correct behavior. • How do I tell GWT to not compile a permutation for gears

  I have included gwt-html5-geolocation into my GWT project and was disappointed to find that it doubled up on my number of permutations compiled. Apparently if the browser does not support geolocation API then it falls back to use gears to find out your location. Is there a way to NOT compile a permutation for gears similar to the way you can tell GWT to only compile certain browser permutations? (the geolocation stuff is very much a nice-to-have and frankly if the client is running an old browser then I am happy not to get their location) Thanks

  For Data Explorer I would like to add support for a Batch separator. So for example if users type in: select 'GO' go select 1 as go Go select 100 I would like to return the three result sets. Its clear that I need some sort of parser here, my hope is that this is a solved problem and I can just plug it in. • Entity Framework + stored procedure with paging

  I am using Entity Framework now and using a stored procedure to populate my entity. Where there is no problem with populating my entity, but when i trying to bind the result to a gridview control with "Enable Paging" set to true, it gives an error saying "The data source does not support server-side data paging." I am using stored procedure because one of the table column is FullTextIndexed, and there is a requirement to be able to search on that field. Can anyone tell me how the paging would work in this situation?
