    Hi, My localhost performance with drupal six is pretty slow. I found a solution to add a # before the :: localhost line of the system32/etc/hosts file but this was something I had already done and didn't help much. does anyone know of any other optimisations that might work? tHanks Andy

  • What could cause an 101 Error in WAMP under Windows 7 ?

    Hey, I'be been using WAMP for local development for quite a while now but lately I've been getting an Error 101 message when I browse localhost sites. It's possible for this to have appeared after the last WAMP update but I'm not 100% sure on this. If I try again and again, after several page refreshes it works but it's really annoying! The exact error message is: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error. This is my configuration: OS: Windows 7 Apache: 2.2.11 PHP: 5.2.9-2 WAMP: 2.0 Also the local scripts connect to a remote MySQL server, they don't use the local MySQL(I don't know if it matters, just though I let you know). I've been looking into the apache logs and I've found the following.   • Zend + Wamp = Cant use curl/fput for a url locally

    Ive got a page in Zend all set up that will for now just echo "Hello", this address is at http://dev.local/hello and works when visiting in the browser. However when I try to use curl or file_get_contents from a script in my zend 'public' folder I get a 500 Internal error message. UPDATE Its failing because my application tries to set the langauge based on the browsers default language, when using headers like I have below, how do I add this locale? "User-Agent: XXXXXXX/2.0\r\n" . "Accept: */*\r\n" . "Accept-Charset: utf-8;\r\n" .

  • Command Prompt closes on Windows, using Wamp Server commands

    Hey guys, I am following the tutorial on PHP with MySQL. In that tutorial ebook, they recommend us to use commands to set password for the MySQL. The command goes something like this, "mysqladmin -u root -p status" Now, I am using Windows XP and whenever I enter the command, the dos screen flashes and terminates. I am unable to note down the results, so the question: is there any way to stop command prompt from terminating on Windows machine? Looking forward to hear from you guys, thank you!

  • WAMP - phpmyadmin 403 error from localhost, but not from IP 127.0.0.1?

    I was wondering if anyone can explain this to me. I installed WAMP 2.2. I opened up the dashboard menu, and clicked localhost. I was brought to the WAMP localhost home page. I clicked on phpmyadmin and get a 403 access is denied error message. However, if I type in the ip address 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin in the address bar, then VOILA, I am in (however, I am not prompted to login to phpmyadmin, I am instantly brought to the phpmyadmin homepage) Please note, I have found the solution to get rid of the 403 error message when entering phpmyadmin from the the localhost extension (change the Deny all setting to Allow all); so I am not asking how to solve that, but my question is: Why if localhost and 127.0.0.1 go to the same spot, will when using the IP addres, I am granted access to subsequent applications and with localhost I am not? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I get WAMP and a domain name to work on a non-standard port?

    I have read countless articles on setting up a domain on WAMP to listen on a port other than 80; none of them are working. I've got Windows Server 2008 (Standard) with IIS 7 installed and running on port 80 (and 443). I've got WAMP installed with the following configuration. Listen 81 ServerName sub.example.com:81 DocumentRoot "C:/Path/To/www" <Directory "C:/Path/To/www"> Options All MultiViews AllowOverride All # onlineoffline tag - don't remove Order Allow,Deny Allow from all </Directory> localhost:81 works with the above configuration but sub.example.com:81 does not. Just to make sure my firewall wasn't getting in the way I have disabled it completely. My sub.example.com domain is already pointing to my server and works on IIS on port 80. Also, if I disable IIS and change the Apache port from 81 to 80 it works. Yes, I am restarting Apache after each httpd.conf change. :-) I don't need any other domain (or sub domains [I don't even care about localhost]) configured which is why I'm not using a VirtualHost. Any ideas what is going on here? What could I be doing wrong? Update Changing Listen to 80 but keeping ServerName as sub.example.com:81 causes navigation to sub.example.com:80 to work; this just doesn't seem right to me.   • Is it possible to have WAMP run httpd.exe as user [myself] instead of local SYSTEM?

    Hello! I run a django application over apache with mod_wsgi, using WAMP. A certain URL allows me to stream the content of image files, the paths of which are stored in database. The files can be located whether on local machine or under network drive (\my\network\folder). With the development server (manage.py runserver), I have no trouble at all reading and streaming the files. With WAMP, and with network drive files, I get a IOError : obviously because the httpd instance does not have read permission on said drive. In the task manager, I see that httpd.exe is run by SYSTEM. I would like to tell WAMP to run the server as [myself] as I have read and write permissions on the shared folder. (eventually, the production server should be run by a 'www-admin' user having the permissions) Mapping the network shared folder on a drive letter (Z: for instance) does not solve this at all. The User/Group directives in httpd.conf do not seem to have any kind of influence on Apache's behaviour. I've also regedited : I tried to duplicate the HKLM[...]\wampapache registry key under HK_CURRENT_USER\ and rename the original key, but then the new key does not seem to be found when I cmd this > httpd.exe -n wampapache -k start or when I run WAMP. I've run out of ideas :) Has anybody ever had the same issue?

  • PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:"\php\php_mysql.dll' - The specified module could not be loaded

    I'm trying to upgrade php 5.4.14 from php 5.4.3 in wamp server 2.2e. I have downloaded php-5.4.14-Win32-VC9-x86 (thread safe). Extracted it under C:\wamp\bin\php. Copied wampserver.conf from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.3 to C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.14. Renamed php.ini-development to phpForApache.ini. -The port number the wamp server has been changed in the http.conf file to 8087 from its default 80. This is mentioned here though it is about upgrading from php 5.3.5 to php 5.4.0. After this, Restarting of the wamp server and services all over again has all been done and those two versions appeared in the menu php-versions (which is opened when the icon of the server is clicked). But when I attempt to enable a library like php_mysql or php_mysqli, a warning message box appears. PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:"\php\php_mysql.dll' - The specified module could not be loaded. I have also tried to removing the semicolon before them in the php.ini file but to no avail. I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002, service pack 3. Where might be the problem? EDIT: I have changed extension_dir from C:\php to c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.14\ext\ in php.ini as the answer below indicates and the library is now loaded correctly but it says, 1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) though the user name and the password are the same as they are in MySQL in the config.inc.php file under phpmyadmin. I have also tried to restart MySQL56 service from Control Panel-Services(Local) but it keeps giving the same error. Does someone know why this happens?

So basically I will insert images with src tags that have URLs pointing to my servlet on the same machine. What's the easiest way to enable servlets on the same machine?   • Best development architecture for a small team of programmers ( WAMP Stack )

    Hi all.. I'm in the first month of work in a new company.. and after I met the two programmer's and asked how things are organized in terms of projects inside the company, they simply shrug their shoulders, and said that nothing is organized.. I think my jaw hit the ground that same time.. ( I know some, of you think I should quit, but I'm on a privileged position, I'm the most experienced there, so there's room for me to grow inside the company, and I'm taking the high road ).. So I talked to the IT guy, and one of the programmers, and maybe this week I'm going to get a server all to myself to start organizing things. I've used various architectures in my previous work experiences, on one I was developing in a server on the network ( no source control of course ).. another experience I had was developing in my local computer, with no server on the network, just source control. And at home, I have a mix of the two, everything I code is on a server on the network, and I have those folders under source control, and I also have a no-ip account configured on that server so I can access it everywhere and I can show the clients anything. For me I think this last solution ( the one I have at home ) is the best: Network server with WAMP stack. The server as a public IP so we can access it by domain name. And use subdomains for each project. Everybody works directly on the network server. I think the problem arises, when two or more people want to work on the same project, in this case the only way to do this is by using source control and local repositories, this is great, but I think this turns development a lot more complicated. In the example I gave, to make a change to the code, I would simply need to open the file in my favorite editor, make the change, alter the database, check in the changes into source control and presto all done. Using local repositories, I would have to get the latest version, run the scripts on the local database to update it, alter the file, alter the database, check in the changes to the network server, update the database on the network server, see if everything is running well on the network server, and presto all done, to me this seems overcomplicated for a change on a simple php page. I could share the database for the local development and for the network server, that sure would help. Maybe the best way to do this is just simply: Network server with WAMP stack ( test server so to speak ), public server accessible trough the web. LAMP stack on every developer computer ( minus the database ) We develop locally, test, then check in the changes into the server test and presto. What do you think?   • Internal WordPress pages all 404 when using WAMP

    I have a problem when using WAMP while designing and coding my site. Well, I have a local version of Wordpress installed in WAMP and use it as a tool to see my changes when coding. I also have the same files uploaded to some free hosting. The problem is when I want to access for example http://localhost/contact. Browser gives me a 404 error. As I said, the same files (exact copy from my PC) are on the web here and when I go to http://thefalljourneyindia.iblogger.org/contact it opens the page fine (without the style of course because I haven't made one yet). Why is that and how do I get to see all of my pages locally like I can when the WP installation is online?

I'd like it so that a request for campaign.com internally rewrites to a particular page of the Drupal site. Note Drupal uses an .htaccess file in the document root. Specifically uri and args on line 4 seem correct, the internal redirect on line 7 seems right, and the pass through on line 12 seems right (because the file index.php exists). But for some reason it seems the query string's been discarded/ignored around the time of the internal redirect. I'm completely stumped. Also, if anyone could provide a reference on understanding the rewrite log, that might help. It'd be great if there's a way to track the query string through the internal redirect. FWIW I'm using WampServer 2.1 with Apache 2.2.17.
