  I'm a computer science graduate Information systems department. I graduated this year with GPA 3.8 but I'm totally lost, we didn't work on making applications and writing a lot of codes at college. I feel that if I applied in any job I won't be taken because I don't have any knowledge. I'm a very hardworker but I don't know from where to start and what to do.   This code works properly in my localhost. I am using xampp 1.7.3. but when I put it in the live server it shows Possible file upload attack!. 'upload/' is the folder under 'public_html' folder on the server. • Changing hosts but keep old emails [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Change host / keep emails OK here's the situation...I'm trying to transfer my domain and email address to a new hosting service and I would like to start using Google's domain apps for my email, etc. My email address is currently on a WebMail type platform and when I move my domain and start using Google domain apps I would also like to keep the old emails and have them imported the the email address on Google. Note: The email address will be the same on both hosts. For example [email protected]. So its keeping the same address between two different systems. I've been Googling how to do this for awhile and all the migrate options that come up don't appear in the the Google inbox setting or domain apps config settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Limiting my heavy thinking to my job [closed]

  This might be a weird problem which is only to a half relevant to actual programming, but hopefully there are people here that knows what I'm talking about. Basicly I'm proud of how I can deal with coding problems and fix them in short notice and many other aspects like building new systems and such. I'm fast on finding solutions and I often think about the impact my changes does to existing systems and so on, therefor preventing problem from arising at all and such. I am simply happy with how my mind operates when it comes to programming and I wouldn't want to change it at all. The problem, however is when I'm not programming. I find myself rather limited in social situations. I can't determine if it is through programming, but I sometimes think way to much about the consequences when it comes to being social. I know from own experience that most times you earn by not thinking about consequences, but it's hard for me not to. Often my friends tells me "I think too much" and even though I agree, I can't seem to change this behavior. My brain wants to think, and it likes to overthink simple stuff. Does anyone recognize the bad habit of not leaving advanced thinking at work, and in what way do you deal with it? If this isn't a suitable place to ask this question, I apologize and hope you may point me to the right site.

I've also restarted the server several times. But when i checked http://localhost/?phpinfo=1 There wasnt any evidence of APC Extension Installation. Please what i'm i doing wrong?   Hi guys, This question is more about maths and algorythms in Google Adwords but guess it's the most appropriate community in SE to ask this. I am creating a spreadsheet to calculate Adword formulas and I am stuck in how to calculate the Monthly Net Income for each keyword. I have created a formula which calculates it but can't figure out how to limit the Monthly Budget.   Possible Duplicate: How to revert to GNOME Classic? I don't like unity so I tried Ubuntu Gnome Remix 12.10. But I feel disappointed too. - No right click on desktop. (I know there is a way to enable it). - No icon on desktop. - I want to have "applications", "palces", "systems" on top panel as before. It just takes much more steps to arrive where I want to go in default gnome 3 settings. - It seems to me that for some applications, when it is maximalized, there is no close buttons or "restore to previous size" button. In fact, it has no title bar in this case, so I can't drag the title bar to restore its previous size and move the window. So I got 3 questions here: (for those who like the way gnome work before) What difference between gnome2 and gnome3 that you prefer the way it works in gnome2? How do you change it to work in the gnome2 way? I don't like the appearance in gnome3. For those who have tried to make your gnome3 looks good, could you share how you customize your gnome3 appearance? (this is for chatting only, not a real question) Why all the main OS (Windows, Mac, Some Linux) want to integrate Desktop and Tablet with focus on Tablet?   I am a college student, and I love to program, period. I code all kinds of things in different kinds of languages. Although I enjoy programming, I have an extremely hard time sticking to one project for a long time. I attribute this shortcoming to my high level of curiosity, exploring different technologies, languages, libraries, etc. What would be best? Should I settle down more and spend time on becoming an expert in one or two programming fields, or should I be more of a jack of all trades, trying out all kinds of new technologies, languages, programming methods, etc.? I'm guessing that somewhere in the middle would be best. I'm always amazed at how many developers are able to create one or two projects, and develop on them for years.   I am a software developer for a government agency in DC, and I have recently completed one year of employment. I am generally dissatisfied with my experiences here. I do not want to gripe too much, but I do not spend a lot of time doing actual development on projects. I am asked to do everything under the sun: write requirements, review specs, test, attend random meetings, but actual coding makes up a small fraction of my time. The coding itself is fairly straightforward and simple so it feels like I am not growing from my experiences. I am not tasked with more challenging work, and I find the experiences are not rewarding. If I had a stronger resume/more work experience, I'd leave the position immediately but combined with the present economy, I am hesitant to leave. I have several questions: Does anybody have experiences like this? How did you make the most of it? I am currently doing some side projects, making simple webpages for people, but aside from that, and open source projects, what other things are out there? What are general benchmarks for a developer after one year of professional experience? What should I be expected to know/do? I am outsider (coming from a math/science background) so I do not know what exactly I should know/do. Is it possible to obtain a mentorship with a mid/senior developer to learn? If so, how can I go about making contacts in the DC area?

  Before youguys go on about how there are many types of programmers, please read through the post. Long term goal: Develop my own software (company) Short term goal: Get a job that involves coding/programming Current status: Support Analyst (at a software company but does not involve any programming) with 40k salary, 3rd year computer engineering student I had everything figured out. I'm going to develop a 2D scrolling game for iphone or android, publish the app, sell a bunch, and then apply at a studios as a software developer. And then something hit me. I think I need to get a job that involes programming to learn as much as I can in the shortest time possible. So I got a phone interview at a fast growing start up software company, passed that no problem, but then had to take an online technical assessment. That failed miserably. I thought that if I could just present myself, show that I am hard working, positive attitude, eager to make self improvements, type of a guy, I could get the job. I was wrong. And now, I am lost. Im thinking of staying with my job until I find a new one as a programmer. I will be working, self studying, and trying to make this happen without finishing university. I forgot to mention that the online technical assessment was based on data structures/algorithms, OO design, runtime complexity. I was hoping that I could get some guidence. Should I be focusing on app development or study computer science fundamentals? I have a list of books I can be going through: Learning C# O'Reilly (I got interested in C# because of Unity3D and Mono), C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, Head First Design Patterns, Code Complete, Introduction to Algorithms, Programming Interviews Exposed, Cracking the Coding Interview, The Google Resume.

Here is how I want to implement it : I have 3 labels ( Name, Phone, Email, ) and a " Buy " button. After the user is typing his name, phone and email they click on "Buy" and they will be redirected to the paypal payment page or if it's possible to stay on the same page. Probably, what I need to know is how to make the "Buy " only after the forms ( name, phone, email ) are validated. • Size mismatch error while downloading packages [closed]

  I've been having this annoying problem lately since I upgraded from Linux Mint 9 to Ubuntu 12.04. It started when I was installing VLC from the Ubuntu Software Centre a few weeks ago. I kept getting this error with packages with "Size mismatch". This happened with many other programs later on. I just got around it by downloading the packages separately and installing them that way. Now I get two updates for packages I installed in that manner. I tried changing from where I download the packages, it didn't change anything. If anyone can help me with my issue it would be splendid. • QR Codes and Short Links - Please Take A Look [closed]

  I'm looking for a way to create a QR Code and a shortened link when a form is submitted. I have the QR Code bit, but the link is too long for me and the QR Code looks scary and complicated. The way it works is; the user types in (in this instance) a contract number. Then, a folder is created on the server of that contract number. (www.mysite.com/QR/$contractnumber). Then, using PHP again, I create a QR Code through Google because I know that every QR code will be linking to the same place, just a different ending of the link. The only bit that changes is the $POST... I was wondering if there was a way to shorten the link before it goes to Google? It would have to be through php. The user enters the contact number in the form, then that number(usually around 5/6 digits) will be entered into a already existing command? I'm not an expert in anything, I just know some really random snippets of code... And HTML and CSS, of course. Any help would be appreciated and judging by the few days I have been searching this, I think it might help a few people in the future. I would also like to confirm that the solution can't be one of this visual URLShorteners. If it is, it just needs to be the back-end of it, built into a existing form and QR Generator. Simple?
