shell_exec escaping quotes in php for Twitter API

I'm (lazily) using shell_exec() to execute a Twitter API Call. shell_exec('curl -u user:password -d "id=3191321" http://api.twitter.com/1/twitterapi/twitterlist/members.xml'); That works fine when I authenticate correctly and put in a number for the id. But when I try to put in a variable ($id), it screws up. $addtolist = shell_exec('curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d "id='.$id.'" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml'); I tried flipping the quote types $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d 'id=$id' http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); I tried using double quotes and escaping them $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d \"id=$id\" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); None of them worked. What am I doing wrong?

For example: http://somesite.com?passes=dodgy+parameter # BAD http://anothersite.com?passes=a+good+parameter # GOOD My system can make a binary decision about whether or not a URL is good or bad - but ideally I would like it to predict whether or not a previously unseen URL is good or bad. http://some-new-site.com?passes=a+really+dodgy+parameter # BAD I feel the need for a support vector machine (SVM) ... but I need to learn machine learning. Some questions: 1) Is an SVM appropriate for this task? 2) Can I train it with the raw URLs? - without explicitly specifying 'features' 3) How many URLs will I need for it to be good at predictions? 4) What kind of SVM kernel should I use? 5) After I train it, how do I keep it up to date? 6) How do I test unseen URLs again the SVM to decide whether it's good or bad? jQuery Cycle plugin pagerAnchorBuilder images becoming undefined

I have a slideshow built in flash that I want to mimic in jQuery. The slide show uses the images from the slideshow as the pager numbers. The problem im having is once i apply links to the slideshow images the pagerAnchorBuilder image returns an undefined for the src of the image. MVVM Madness: Commands

I like MVVM. I don't love it, but like it. Most of it makes sense. But, I keep reading articles that encourage you to write a lot of code so that you can write XAML and don't have to write any code in the code-behind. Let me give you an example. Recently I wanted to hookup a command in my ViewModel to a ListView MouseDoubleClickEvent. I wasn't quite sure how to do this. Fortunately, Google has answers for everything. Some of the aforementioned solutions rendered the WPF designer unusable because of a common hack of appending "Internal" after a dependency property; the WPF designer can't find it, but the CLR can. Some of the solutions didn't allow multiple commands to the same control. Some of the solutions didn't allow parameters. After experimenting for a few hours I just decided to do this: private void ListView_MouseDoubleClick(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { ListView lv = sender as ListView; MyViewModel vm = this.DataContext as MyViewModel; vm.DoSomethingCommand.Execute(lv.SelectedItem); } So, MVVM purists, please tell me what's wrong with this? I can still Unit test my command. This seems very practical, but seems to violate the guideline of "ZOMG... you have code in your code-behind!!!!" Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Struts 1 - struts-taglib.jar is not being found by the web application

I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file. But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem?

301 htaccess redirect: add segment to old URL's

I'm trying to make sure old url's aren't broken after the site's URL structure has changed from this: http://www.domain.com/section/entry_name to this: http://www.domain.com/section/event_name/entry_name But to make it a bit more complex, I'm using the segments to sort entries, for example: http://www.domain.com/news/amazing_event/date/asc http://www.domain.com/videos/my_event/title/desc The new structure only effects one particular event (amazing_event) and should leave the other URL's alone. Where do I even begin to tackle this? My current .htaccess looks like: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] Thanks - appreciate any tips.

Newbie question since I'm not up to speed using maven at all. I'm trying to use scala + lift using scala 2.8, environment is a win7 box if that matters. I can run Sentry in the command line and view it correctly in the browser but when it comes to supervisor I am completely in the dark. GWT & HTML5 Video in Mobile Safari

I'm trying to code a site in GWT that plays videos with HTML5. Everything works great on the desktop, but mobile Safari on both the iPhone and iPad do not play the video. I can play a video using Video for Everybody. I've even copied the code to my own plain HTML page, and it works flawlessly. If I serve that same code via a GWT widget, mobile safari will not play the video. On the iPhone I see a gray box with a prohibitory sign around the play button, and on the iPad it shows up as a black box. I've made sure my doctype is <!DOCTYPE html>, but I don't know where else to start debugging. Perhaps it it because the code is injected via javascript? Any pointers on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated. Using .htaccess to server files from Amazon S3 CloudFront

My ideal setup would be to take a current clients site, upload a .htaccess with a regex inside, that would match the URI, and if it finds a certain file extension, it would use the same path, but with an altered domain. ie. Normal path: http://www.domain.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://www.domain.com/assets/js/jquery.js .htaccess translated would turn the above into: http://mycdn.other.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://mycdn.other.com/assets/js/jquery.js I googled this for hours in a row, no luck. Again, this is for actually making use of Amazon's CloudFront. S3 is already mounted to the website for backups and storing files using s3fs, but this doesn't solve the issue since it's using S3 directly, not using the CloudFront.

Can you authenticate into SSAS with AD LDS (ADAM) accounts?

I'm very new to AD LDS and experienced but not qualified with SSAS, so my apologies for my ignorances with these. We have a couple implementations where we expose SSAS via an HTTPS proxy (msmdpump.dll) and currently we have a temporary domain setup handling this (where our end-users have a second account+creds to manage because of this = non-ideal). I want to move us towards a more permanent solution which I'm thinking of moving all authentication to AD LDS for our web apps, SSAS, and others. However, SSAS is where I'm concerned about this. I know SSAS requires Windows Authentication and to play nicely, and that this ultimately means Active Directory will be involved. Is there a way to get this done with AD LDS instead of having to use a full AD DS implementation? If so, how? (Note: My question over at StackOverflow had a suggestion that I post this question here on ServerFault instead. My apologies if I'm not asking in the right forum.)

XFBML fb:login_button only loading 20% of the time

I have a fb:login-button that is working but the button only displays about 20% of the time I load the page. IIS 7.5 FTP IIS Manager Users Login Fail (530) I'm trying to set up a FTP site on IIS 7.5 that allows IIS Manager Users to login. I'm following this guide: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/321/configure-ftp-with-iis-7-manager-authentication/. After set up, I cannot login to the FTP using an IIS Manager User account. The client error I got was 530 User cannot log in. Win32 error: Unspecified error. Error details: An error occured during the authentication process. I tried both with or without a virtual host. A Windows account login fine. The only strange thing I noticed was that when setting up Read permission for Network Service, there was an access denied error when setting up permission for "%SystemDrive%\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config\schema". Any thoughts? Thanks!

SBS2003 OWA not displaying images on external side

I've got an SBS 2003 server with companyweb/remote owa site. After authenticating remotely to the https:/servername/remote site, and then clicking on Use Outlook Web Access, the mail/owa site displays only limited amounts of data with Loading... displayed (see first image). This is different when viewing the site on the server itself (see second image). Different browsers will display different types of data (last screenshot is Chrome - first two are IE). I feel IIS permissions on the virtual directories is the cause, but not certain. Forms-based authentication etc is working ok etc. Any suggestions? Authentication and getting email via ActiveSync is not a problem. I don't want to break anything, and it's not a major problem because the users only get their email via outlook and iphones anyway without problems. I'm more interested in finding out for my own info so please give me some suggestions to try. Thanks for looking!

IIS7 URL Rewrite with dynamic subdomains.

My goal is to implement the following scheme using the subdomain and path as attributes: Use a wildcard DNS entry that routes any subdomain to the root site: Example: *.example.com ex: http://xyz.example.com to http://example.com Next I want to rewrite the requests to point to a specific page, passing both the subdomain and the request path as attributes. Example: http://xyz123.example.com/images/header.jpg to http://example.com/get.aspx?id=xyz123&path=/images/header.jpg I've seen several questions on here regarding similar goals, but not quite the same. I'm new to using rewrite rules, so any help is appreciated. I will update this as I make progress.

Links on SharePoint 2010 Master Page not changed based on Alternate Access Mappings

We are creating a custom branded Master Page in SharePoint 2010. To make the page similar to a legacy page we have implemented an html based custom dropdown navigation menu we had in place directly on the Master Page (consisted of basic HTML elements ULs and LIs with A tags styled with a CSS class). I assumed the links from the basic HTML on the page would be subject to Alternate Access Mappings currently in place, but it seems to not be the case. On a test page opened in 3 different URLs (http://sharepoint2010, http://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com, https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com) the links from a WIKI page are modified as I expected, but the links from the Custom Navigation Menu (plain HTML on the Master Page) are not modified. I can see where that would be useful... But is there a way that I can add links on the MasterPage in a way that SharePoint parses them first, making them subject to Alternate Access Mapping translation? I tried placing a link inside a SPLinkButton control, but it didn't achieve the desired behavior. e.g. <ul id="navmenu"> <li><SharePoint:SPLinkButton runat="server" NavigateUrl="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint link</SharePoint:SPLinkButton></li> <li><a href="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint2010</a></li> <li>test</li> </ul> When I access the page via https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com the links above are still http://sharepoint2010 rather than https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com Any thoughts? Why is my Tomcat 6 executor thread pool not being used by the connector?

My server.xml looks like the following:  <Executor name="tomcatThreadPool" namePrefix="catalina-exec-" maxThreads="200" minSpareThreads="4"/> <Connector executor="tomcatThreadPool" port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1" connectionTimeout="10000" maxKeepAliveRequests="1" redirectPort="8443" /> <Connector port="8009" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" /> However, in the Tomcat manager (http://localhost/manager/status) it shows to following http-8080: Max threads: -1 Current thread count: -1 Current thread busy: -1 jk-8009: Max threads: 200 Current thread count: 4 Current thread busy: 1 For some reason it looks like http-8080 isn't using the executor even though it is directed too and jk-8009 is using the executor even though it isn't instructed to. Is the manager just misreporting or have I not setup the thread pool correctly?

So where i was wrong and how to do what i need? Thank you.

facebook connect: thumbnail images broken up in FB.Connect.streamPublish pop-up prompt, and on wall

hi there! I'm using facebook connect so that users can publish comments they are leaving on my site on their facebook wall as well. It works as intended, except that in the confirmation pop up, the thumbnail image i provide is broken. Looking at the source, I can see that facebook prepended my image url like this: from: http://www.mysite.com/path/to/my/image.jpg to: http://platform.ak.fbcdn.net/www/app_full_proxy.php?app=303377111175&v=1&size=z&cksum=41a391c9f3a6f3dde2ede9892763c943&src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mysite.com%2Fpath%2Fto%2Fmy%2image.jpg The image on the facebook user's wall has the same prepended url, and is also broken for a couple of minutes, after which it's showing up correctly. But obviously, having a broken image in the confirmation window and on your wall for a couple of minutes is not a good experience... Has anybody experienced the same / knows how to work around this issue? Thanks a lot in advance!
