  • iPhone database load

    I have a sqlite databse that holds a table. The table contains about 7500 data. I've fetch the 7500 data in a UITableView. A UISearchBar is used to search the UITableView.There is no problem in simulator but when I run in a iPhone device, then it will take time to load and when I type to SearchBar then it hangs the device keyboard. Is there any optimal solution to load 7500 data in a UITableView?

I know how to use it by simply hijacking an existing language and add the wordbreaker to the registry for the hijacked language. However I'm not completely satisfied with that solution.   • How to reliably categorize HTTP sessions in proxy to corresponding browser' windows/tabs user is viewing?

    I was using the Fiddler core .Net library as a local proxy to record the user activity in web. However I ended up with a problem which seems dirty to solve. I have a web browser say Google Chrome, and the user opened like 10 different tabs each with different web URLs. The problem is that the proxy records all the HTTP session initiated by each pages separately, causing me to figure out using my intelligence the tab which the corresponding HTTP session belonged to. I understand that this is because of the stateless nature of HTTP protocol. However I am just wondering is there an easy way to do this? I ended up with below c# code for that in Fiddler. Still its not a reliable solution due to the heuristics. This is a modification of the sample project bundled with Fiddler core for .NET 4. Basically what it does is filtering HTTP sessions initiated in last few seconds to find the first request or switching to another page made by the same tab in browser. It almost works, but not seems to be a universal solution.     It's fairly simple to play a sound file, say temp.wav, from Visual Studio C#. I'm looking for a way to do this without temp.wav being locatable from the machine running the program.     In my application I use some icons. Where should I store the path of the directory containing those icons ? The icons are used in different classes so it doesn't really make sense to store them in one of those classes in particular. I read that global variables are evil, but is it acceptable to use a class (eg Commons) containing only public static final fields to store this king of data ? I'm missing namespaces and I can't find the assemblies to add back to my references folder for my C# Project Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline for example is not one I find in the list of references in the .NET references tab. So how the hell do I get these SQL Server assemblies? Do I have to install the SQL Server 2008 sdk? Lost.

    I'm using Python, for what it's worth, but will accept answers in any applicable language. I've tried writing to /proc/$pid/cmdline, but that's a readonly file. I've tried assigning a new string to sys.argv[0], but that has no perceptible impact. Are there any other possibilities? My program is executing processes via os.system (equivalent to system(3)) so a general, *NIX-based solution using an additional spawning process would be fine.

    I am looking for a system to parallelise a large suite of tests in a Ruby on Rails app (using rspec, cucumber) that works using JRuby. Cucumber is actually not too bad, but the full rSpec suite currently takes nearly 20 minutes to run. The systems I can find (hydra, parallel-test) look like they use forking, which isn't the ideal solution for the JRuby environment.
