• Scriptaculous Draggable/Droppable script not working properly when dragging into a scrolling div

  I am using the Scriptaculous Draggable/Droppable scripts and have a problem when dragging into a scrolling div. This works very well for most cases, but when there are too many images for the grid and it has to scroll, I run into issues. I can still drag/drop into most items in that div, but when I scroll down and then try to drag onto an item in the bottom of the list, it drops on the row that was at the bottom before I scrolled the div. Even if I set the scroll attribute when creating the Draggable items, it will scroll the grid div, but not use the proper Droppable item. Is there any way to make the Draggable items drop onto the proper Droppable element regardless of if the containing div is scrolled or not?

What is the fastest/most efficient way to do this - is there a jQuery/js method that is reasonable for a large number of items? Or do I need to reengineer the Django code to do the work before passing it to the template?

• Unique Constraint Nhibernate.

  I have a object with a Nhibernate mapping that has a surrogate ID and a natual ID. Since of cource the natural ID is uniquely constrained a insert query will fail if the object is already in the database with the same natural ID. My solution for this has been to manually check to see if natural IDs are in the database before trying to insert. Is there a way to specify Nhibernate to do a select before insert on natural Id's/Unique Constraints?

  Hi, I'd like to print a simple table in my page with 3 columns, building name, tags and architecture style. Alternatively, if your code is only ever going to run against mysql, you may enable query buffering by setting the PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_USE_BUFFERED_QUERY attribute. What can I do to avoid this? Should I change all and search a different way to get this kind of queries?

• Have problems designing input and output for a calculator app

  Hello! I am writing a button calculator. I have the code split into model, view and a controller. The model knows nothing about formatting, it is only concerned with numbers. All formatting is done in the view. The model gets its input as keypresses, each keypress is a part of an enum: typedef enum { kButtonUnknown = 0, kButtonMemoryClear = 100, kButtonMemoryPlus = 112, kButtonMemoryMinus = 109, kButtonMemoryRecall = 114, kButtonClear = 99, … }; When the user presses a button (say 1), the model receives a button code (kButtonNum1), adds the corresponding number to a string input buffer ("1") and updates the numeric output value (1.0). The controller then passes the numeric output value to the view that formats it (1). This is all plain, simple and clean, but does not really work. The problem is that when user enters a part of a number (say 0.00, going to enter 0.001), the input does not survive the way through model to view and the display says 0 instead of 0.00. I know why this happens ("0.00"::string parses to 0::double and that gets formatted as 0). What I don’t know is how to design the calculator so that the code stays clean and simple and the numbers will show up on screen exactly as the user types them. I’ve already come with some kind of solution, but that’s essentially a hack and breaks the beautiful and simple flow from the calculator model to the display. Ideas? Current solution keeps track of the calculator state. If the calculator is building a number, I take the calculator input buffer (a string) and directly set the display contents (also a string). Otherwise I take the proper path, ie. take the numeric calculator output, pass it to the view as a double and the view uses its internal formatter to create a string for the display. Example input: input | display | mode ------+---------+------------ 0 | 0 | from string 0. | 0. | from string 0.0 | 0.0 | from string 0.0+ | 0 | from number This is ugly. (1) The calculator has to expose its input buffer and state. (2) The view has to expose its display and allow setting its contents directly using a string. (3) I have to duplicate some of the formatting code to format the string I got from the calculator input buffer. If user enters 12345.000, I have to display 12,345.000 and therefore I’ve got to have a commification code for strings. Yuck.

• Weblogic 10.0: SAMLSignedObject.verify() failed to validate signature value

  I've been having this problem for a while and it's driving me nuts. I'm trying to create a client (in C# .NET 2.0) that will use SAML 1.1 to sign on to a WebLogic 10.0 server (i.e., a Single Sign-On scenario, using browser/post profile). The client is on a WinXP machine and the WebLogic server is on a RHEL 5 box. I based my client largely on code in the example here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/aspnet/DotNetSamlPost.aspx (the source has a section for SAML 1.1). I set up WebLogic based on instructions for SAML Destination Site from here:http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/dev2arch/2006/12/sso-with-saml4.html I created a certificate using makecert that came with VS 2005. makecert -r -pe -n "CN=whatever" -b 01/01/2010 -e 01/01/2011 -sky exchange whatever.cer -sv whatever.pvk pvk2pfx.exe -pvk whatever.pvk -spc whatever.cer -pfx whatever.pfx Then I installed the .pfx to my personal certificate directory, and installed the .cer into the WebLogic SAML Identity Asserter V2. I read on another site that formatting the response to be readable (ie, adding whitespace) to the response after signing would cause this problem, so I tried various combinations of turning on/off .Indent XMLWriterSettings and turning on/off .PreserveWhiteSpace when loading the XML document, and none of it made any difference. I've printed the SignatureValue both before the message is is encoded/sent and after it arrives/gets decoded, and they are the same. So, to be clear: the Response appears to be formed, encoded, sent, and decoded fine (I see the full Response in the WebLogic logs). WebLogic finds the certificate I want it to use, verifies that a key was supplied, gets the signed info, and then fails to validate the signature. • reCaptcha issue with Spring MVC

  Hi I've been trying to integrate reCaptcha with my application built on Spring framework, but I am getting this error: org.springframework.web.bind.MissingServletRequestParameterException: Required String parameter 'recaptcha_challenge_field' is not present Could someone help me understand that why am I getting this error. I've got both recaptcha_challenge_field and recaptcha_response_field parameters bound to the User domain object. Could anybody help me understand what am I missing?   I'm confused by how the length of a string is calculated when expandtabs is used. I thought expandtabs replaces tabs with the appropriate number of spaces (with the default number of spaces per tab being 8). However, when I ran the commands using strings of varying lengths and varying numbers of tabs, the length calculation was different than I thought it would be (i.e., each tab didn't always result in the string length being increased by 8 for each instance of "/t"). Below is a detailed script output with comments explaining what I thought should be the result of the command executed above.   I have two classes, call them Monkey and Banana, with a one-to-many bidirectional relationship. Monkey monkey = new Monkey(); Banana banana = new Banana(); monkey.Bananas.Add(banana); banana.Monkey = monkey; hibernateService.Save(banana); When I run that chunk of code, I want both monkey and banana to be persisted. However, it's only persisting both when I explicitly save the monkey and not vice versa.   I have the following query , how to write these query in Symfony2 SELECT Inventory_Stock.id, Inventory_Stock.quantity, SUM(InventoryUsage.quantity) ,Inventory_Stock.quantity - SUM(InventoryUsage.quantity) AS Stock FROM Inventory_Stock LEFT JOIN InventoryUsage ON Inventory_Stock.id = InventoryUsage.InventoryStock_id WHERE Inventory_Stock.id = 26 OR Inventory_Stock.id = 27 GROUP BY Inventory_Stock.id ORDER BY Stock DESC I need to paginate this as well Would be great if any one could help me out as this has been pulling my hair out for couple of days.

• Kohana 3 ORM - grouping where conditions with parentheses

  I'm trying to run a query through the ORM like this: SELECT * from table where (fname like 'string%' or lname like 'string%') AND (fname like 'string2%' or lname like 'string2%'); Here's what i have so far: $results = ORM::factory('profiles'); foreach ($strings as $string) { $result->where('fname', 'like', "$string%"); $result->or_where('lname', 'like', "$string%"); } But this doesn't account for the parentheses. Any ideas?

• Performance in SQL Mobile with one big column that's not being selected

  I have a SQL Mobile database with one table. It has several columns with useful, often queried data and one column that stores a relatively large string per record (1000+ characters) that is not queried often. Imagine this fake schema, the "lifeStory" field is the large one. table1 String firstName String lastName String address String lifeStory A representative query would be SELECT firstName, lastName, address FROM table1 WHERE firstName = :p1 Does anyone know of any performance concerns leaving that large, infrequently queried column in this table?

  Lets say we have 3 tables, Users, Products, Purchases. There is a view that needs to display the purchases made by a user. I could lookup the data required by doing: from p in DBSet<Purchases>.Include("User").Include("Product") select p; However, I am concern that this may have a performance impact because it will retrieve the full objects. Alternatively, I could select only the fields i need: from p in DBSet<Purchases>.Include("User").Include("Product") select new SimplePurchaseInfo() { UserName = p.User.name, Userid = p.User.Id, ProductName = p.Product.Name ... etc }; So my question is: Whats the best practice in doing this? == EDIT Thanks for all the replies.
