  • Where does respository resides in after converting CVS repository into SVN using cvs2svn ?

    - by thetna
I am using cvs2svn for converting already existing CVS repository into svn repository. While doing it using command line , it makes all the passes and creates a repository in the SVN. But i am not able to find all the files in the particular directory. Where does that repository resides? I used following command to convert the CVS to SVN repository. cvs2svn -s /home/user/Subversion/repos /home/usr/cvsrepo

  • How does the event dispatch thread work?

    - by Roman
    With the help of people on stackoverflow I was able to get the following working code of the simples GUI countdown (it just displays a window counting down seconds). My main problem with this code is the invokeLater stuff. As far as I understand the invokeLater send a task to the event dispatching thread (EDT) and then the EDT execute this task whenever it "can" (whatever it means). Is it right? To my understanding the code works like that: In the main method we use invokeLater to show the window (showGUI method). In other words, the code displaying the window will be executed in the EDT. In the main method we also start the counter and the counter (by construction) is executed in another thread (so it is not in the event dispatching thread). Right? The counter is executed in a separate thread and periodically it calls updateGUI. The updateGUI is supposed to update GUI. And GUI is working in the EDT. So, updateGUI should also be executed in the EDT. It is why the code for the updateGUI is inclosed in the invokeLater. Is it right? What is not clear to me is why we call the counter from the EDT. Anyway it is not executed in the EDT. It starts immediately a new thread and the counter is executed there. So, why we cannot call the counter in the main method after the invokeLater block? import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.SwingUtilities; public class CountdownNew { static JLabel label; // Method which defines the appearance of the window. public static void showGUI() { JFrame frame = new JFrame("Simple Countdown"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); label = new JLabel("Some Text"); frame.add(label); frame.pack(); frame.setVisible(true); } // Define a new thread in which the countdown is counting down. public static Thread counter = new Thread() { public void run() { for (int i=10; i>0; i=i-1) { updateGUI(i,label); try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch(InterruptedException e) {}; } } }; // A method which updates GUI (sets a new value of JLabel). private static void updateGUI(final int i, final JLabel label) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater( new Runnable() { public void run() { label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds."); } } ); } public static void main(String[] args) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { showGUI(); counter.start(); } }); } }

  • How can I compile a GUI executable with ghc?

    - by martingw
I ported a little Haskell program I wrote from Mac to Windows. It's a GUI application (wxHaskell, compiled with ghc 6.12.1), so it does not need the command prompt window to open. It does so, anyway, so my question: What must I do so that the program starts without opening a prompt window first? Is there some ghc switch for this?

  • (re)mounting the SD card on android emulator

    - by Lo'oris
On the emulator, I can unmount the SD card from the Settings. On OSX, I can then mount it using hdiutil, then unmount it normally. I haven't been able to figure out how to re-mount it then on the emulator (without rebooting it). hints: the adb command remount is unrelated: it's about /system the emulator command is unrelated: it's only about starting the emulator mounting the SD card on OSX without unmounting it from the emulator causes horrible pain to the emulator

  • how to center jquery dialog with ui 1.8?

    - by Jeremy
I'm having trouble getting the jquery ui 1.8 dialog to center I've tried leaving the options default, and setting position: 'center'. When the dialog displayed, the browser window gets scrolled down to the centre of the page, and the dialog is positioned at the bottom left of the window. This worked fine with jquery 1.3.2 and ui 1.7.2. Is there something new I need to do with this version?

  • How to close a java swing application from the code

    - by hstoerr
What is the proper way to terminate a Swing application from the code, and what are the pitfalls? I'd tried to close my application automatically after a timer fires. But just calling dispose() on the JFrame didn't do the trick - the window vanished but the application did not terminate. However when closing the window with the close button, the application does terminate. What should I do?

  • buttons inside scrollviewer problem

    - by Miroslav Valchev
    Hello, everyone. I couldn't find a solution to my problem eventhough I believe that others have come across this too. Basically, there are like twenty buttons in a wrap panel, which is inside a scrollviewer. The problem is that when I want to scroll the list, the click event fires the triggers. Really would appreciate help on this one. <ScrollViewer> <ScrollViewer.Content> <toolkit:WrapPanel Orientation="Horizontal" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="420"> <Button Style="{StaticResource imageButtonStyle}" > <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="Click"> <cmd2:EventToCommand Command="{Binding SelectCommand, Mode=OneWay}" CommandParameterValue="1" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </Button> <Button Style="{StaticResource imageButtonStyle}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="Click"> <cmd2:EventToCommand Command="{Binding SelectCommand, Mode=OneWay}" CommandParameterValue="2" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </Button> <Button Style="{StaticResource imageButtonStyle}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="MouseEnter"> <cmd2:EventToCommand Command="{Binding SelectCommand, Mode=OneWay}" CommandParameterValue="3" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </Button> <Button Style="{StaticResource imageButtonStyle}"> <i:Interaction.Triggers> <i:EventTrigger EventName="MouseEnter"> <cmd2:EventToCommand Command="{Binding SelectCommand, Mode=OneWay}" CommandParameterValue="4" /> </i:EventTrigger> </i:Interaction.Triggers> </Button> </toolkit:WrapPanel> </ScrollViewer.Content>

  • Setting Up virtualenv with python2.6

    - by Zach
I'm setting up a virtualenv, but it seems to be using python2.5 by default. I'm using this command virtualenv newenv --no-site-packages -p python because the python found on my path is python2.6. I believe this to be true because when I type python and go into the shell, it tells me it's 2.6. When I create the virtualenv with the above command and launch the shell, it tells me I'm in 2.5. Anyone else have this issue?

  • Windows7 Installer takes priority how to move it back during installation using C#?

    - by shahjapan
I've a custom Action on Deployment project of .NET Applicaiton, which contains custom dialogbox to enter certain parameters, on invalid parameters I've shown MessageBox.Show - but its being hide by installer window, I tried windows forms too with Activate, TopMost, Focus,bring2front, etc serveral options but it comes by default behind the windows installer window and due to this user is not able to identify why installing process is not finishing - because actually its waiting for user to read the MessageBox and press OK. I've tried to implement IWin32Window with the handler of MsiExec Process, and shown the Messagebox but still its not working, anyone has idea ??? Here is my installer.cs function defination, public override void Install(IDictionary stateSaver)

  • print_any for F# 2.0

    - by user79339
Hi, I am upgrading an old version 1.0 F# project to 2.0 using visual studio 2010. So many changes. I can't seem to find the print_any command that was littered all over the place in the old books and samples. I have installed powerpack but can't find it there either. Any idea where i can find this command. PS: I know I can easily implement it myself but was curious where this is now.

  • [emacs] make ibuffer-visit-buffer behave like ido-switch-to-buffer?

    - by Stephen
Is there a way to make ibuffer-visit-buffer behave like ido-switch-to-buffer (with raise-frame option)? If there is a window/frame containing the buffer I'd like emacs to take me there rather than opening the same buffer in the current window. I guess switch-to-buffer is remapped to ido-switch-to-buffer when ido-mode is turned on, so would doing something like that work in this case (remap ibuffer-visit-buffer to ido-switch-to-buffer)? Thanks

  • How can a C/C++ program put itself into background?

    - by Larry Gritz
What's the best way for a running C or C++ program that's been launched from the command line to put itself into the background, equivalent to if the user had launched from the unix shell with '&' at the end of the command? (But the user didn't.) It's a GUI app and doesn't need any shell I/O, so there's no reason to tie up the shell after launch. But I want a shell command launch to be auto-backgrounded without the '&' (or on Windows). Ideally, I want a solution that would work on any of Linux, OS X, and Windows. (Or separate solutions that I can select with #ifdef.) It's ok to assume that this should be done right at the beginning of execution, as opposed to somewhere in the middle. One solution is to have the main program be a script that launches the real binary, carefully putting it into the background. But it seems unsatisfying to need these coupled shell/binary pairs. Another solution is to immediately launch another executed version (with 'system' or CreateProcess), with the same command line arguments, but putting the child in the background and then having the parent exit. But this seems clunky compared to the process putting itself into background. Edited after a few answers: Yes, a fork() (or system(), or CreateProcess on Windows) is one way to sort of do this, that I hinted at in my original question. But all of these solutions make a SECOND process that is backgrounded, and then terminate the original process. I was wondering if there was a way to put the EXISTING process into the background. One difference is that if the app was launched from a script that recorded its process id (perhaps for later killing or other purpose), the newly forked or created process will have a different id and so will not be controllable by any launching script, if you see what I'm getting at. Edit #2: fork() isn't a good solution for OS X, where the man page for 'fork' says that it's unsafe if certain frameworks or libraries are being used. I tried it, and my app complains loudly at runtime: "The process has forked and you cannot use this CoreFoundation functionality safely. You MUST exec()." I was intrigued by daemon(), but when I tried it on OS X, it gave the same error message, so I assume that it's just a fancy wrapper for fork() and has the same restrictions. Excuse the OS X centrism, it just happens to be the system in front of me at the moment. But I am indeed looking for a solution to all three platforms.

  • Identify Field Control properties Dynamically

    - by Pravin Kumar
I have an app in which the user's actions such as "minimizing a window","closing a window","clicking a button" ... has to be captured. And those Field Controls ( like buttons, close icon , minimise icon ... ) can be in any application and have to be dynamically identified Is there a way to do this in C# ??? Any useful pointers are much appreciated. Thanks,
