  • Problem compiling bison & flex program under vc++

    - by Eric
I'm using bison & flex (downloaded via cygwin) with vc++. When I compile the program I got an error: ...: fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'unistd.h': No such file or directory The corresponding code in the flex-generated file is: #ifndef YY_NO_UNISTD_H /* Special case for "unistd.h", since it is non-ANSI. We include it way * down here because we want the user's section 1 to have been scanned first. * The user has a chance to override it with an option. */ /* %if-c-only */ #include <unistd.h> /* %endif */ /* %if-c++-only */ /* %endif */ #endif If I define YY_NO_UNISTD_H in the flex file(.l) this error will disappear, but I get several other errors: ...: error C2447: '{' : missing function header (old-style formal list?) ...: warning C4018: '<' : signed/unsigned mismatch ...: error C3861: 'isatty': identifier not found How can I fix this problem?

  • Cross-Browser CSS3 Rule

    - by Alexander Corotchi
I have a stupid question, If I want to add round corner for an element in browsers which support some stuff of CSS3, I have to repeat style several time for each browser, because it is different ? For ex : -moz-border-radius: 12px; /* FF1+ */ -webkit-border-radius: 12px; /* Saf3+, Chrome */ border-radius: 12px; /* Opera 10.5, IE 9 */ It means, that I have to add 3 styles for this radius border, doesn't it ?

  • cross-user C# mutex

    - by Martin
My app is forced to use a 3rd party module which will blue-screen Windows if two instances are started at the same time on the same machine. To work around the issue, my C# app has a mutex: static Mutex mutex = new Mutex(true, "{MyApp_b9d19f99-b83e-4755-9b11-d204dbd6d096}"); And I check if it's present - and if so I show an error message and close the app: bool IsAnotherInstanceRunning() { if (mutex.WaitOne(TimeSpan.Zero, true)) return (true); else return (false); } The problem is if two users can log in and open the application at the same time, and IsAnotherInstanceRunning() will return false. How do I get around this?

  • Template compiling errors on iPhone SDK 3.2

    - by Didier Malenfant
I'm porting over some templated code from Windows and I'm hitting some compiler differences on the iPhone 3.2 SDK. Original code inside a class template's member function is: return BinarySearch<uint32, CSimpleKey<T> >(key); where BinarySearch is a method inherited from another template. This produces the following error: csimplekeytable.h:131: error: no matching function for call to 'BinarySearch(NEngine::uint32&)' The visual studio compiler seems to walk up the template hierarchy fine but gcc needs me to fully qualify where the function comes from (I have verified this by fixing the same issues with template member variables that way). So I now need to change this into: return CSimpleTable<CSimpleKey<T> >::BinarySearch<uint32, CSimpleKey<T> >(key); Which now produces the following error: csimplekeytable.h:132: error: expected primary-expression before ',' token csimplekeytable.h:132: error: expected primary-expression before '>' token After some head scratching, I believe what's going on here is that it's trying to resolve the '<' before BinarySearch as a 'Less Than' operator for some reason. So two questions: - Am I on the right path with my interpretation of the error? - How do I fix it? -D

  • Compiling and executing through commandLine shows NoClassDefFoundError when trying to find Java pack

    - by eruina
I have a client/server program that attempts to send and receive an object. There are three packages: server, client and shared shared contains only the Message class I put Message.java from shared package into the same folder as calcclient package source files and calcserver package source files. I compile using the line: javac -classpath .; Message.java They can compile. Then I change directory up one level and ran with: java -classpath .; .Main When I use Netbeans to run, the entire program works as per normal. But not if I run from command line. If its executed through command line, the program will work until it needs to use the Message object. Then it will show a NoClassDefFoundError Am I putting the right files at the right places? How do I get the program to find shared package through command line?

  • Dev-C++ and Detours compiling error

    - by Julio
    Hello. As title says I'm trying to compile with Dev-C++ a simple DLL using Detours, but I get this error: syntax error before token '&' on this lines: DetourAttach(&(PVOID &)trueMessageBox, hookedMessageBox) DetourDetach(&(PVOID &)trueMessageBox, hookedMessageBox) The complete code is #include <windows.h> #include <detours.h> #pragma comment( lib, "Ws2_32.lib" ) #pragma comment( lib, "detours.lib" ) #pragma comment( lib, "detoured.lib" ) int (WINAPI * trueMessageBox)(HWND hWnd, LPCSTR lpText, LPCSTR lpCaption, UINT uType) = MessageBox; int WINAPI hookedMessageBox(HWND hWnd, LPCSTR lpText, LPCSTR lpCaption, UINT uType) { LPCSTR lpNewCaption = "You've been hijacked"; int iReturn = trueMessageBox(hWnd, lpText, lpNewCaption, uType); return iReturn; } BOOL WINAPI DllMain( HINSTANCE, DWORD dwReason, LPVOID ) { switch ( dwReason ) { case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: DetourTransactionBegin(); DetourUpdateThread( GetCurrentThread() ); DetourAttach(&(PVOID &)trueMessageBox, hookedMessageBox) DetourTransactionCommit(); break; case DLL_PROCESS_DETACH: DetourTransactionBegin(); DetourUpdateThread( GetCurrentThread() ); DetourDetach(&(PVOID &)trueMessageBox, hookedMessageBox) DetourTransactionCommit(); break; } return TRUE; }

  • Compiling flex file into dll.

    - by Szpilona
Hi, I've got a lexer created with flex (cygwin). Normally I compile it to an .exe file. For the newest project I need a lexer to use in a bigger C# program running on Windows XP. Of course I can execute a file using System.Diagnostics.Process. But it is not the best solution for me as I want that program to run on several machines. How can I create a dll under cygwin having the source code of the lexer? Thanks in advance... Szpilona

  • Compiling Objective-C project on Linux (Ubuntu)

    - by Alex
How to make an Objective-C project work on Ubuntu? My files are: Fraction.h #import <Foundation/NSObject.h> @interface Fraction: NSObject { int numerator; int denominator; } -(void) print; -(void) setNumerator: (int) n; -(void) setDenominator: (int) d; -(int) numerator; -(int) denominator; @end Fraction.m #import "Fraction.h" #import <stdio.h> @implementation Fraction -(void) print { printf( "%i/%i", numerator, denominator ); } -(void) setNumerator: (int) n { numerator = n; } -(void) setDenominator: (int) d { denominator = d; } -(int) denominator { return denominator; } -(int) numerator { return numerator; } @end main.m #import <stdio.h> #import "Fraction.h" int main( int argc, const char *argv[] ) { // create a new instance Fraction *frac = [[Fraction alloc] init]; // set the values [frac setNumerator: 1]; [frac setDenominator: 3]; // print it printf( "The fraction is: " ); [frac print]; printf( "\n" ); // free memory [frac release]; return 0; } I've tried two approaches to compile it: Pure gcc: $ sudo apt-get install gobjc gnustep gnustep-devel $ gcc `gnustep-config --objc-flags` -o main main.m -lobjc -lgnustep-base /tmp/ccIQKhfH.o:(.data.rel+0x0): undefined reference to `__objc_class_name_Fraction' I created a GNUmakefile Makefile: include ${GNUSTEP_MAKEFILES}/common.make TOOL_NAME = main main_OBJC_FILES = main.m include ${GNUSTEP_MAKEFILES}/tool.make ... and ran: $ source /usr/share/GNUstep/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh $ make Making all for tool main... Linking tool main ... ./obj/main.o:(.data.rel+0x0): undefined reference to `__objc_class_name_Fraction' So in both cases compiler gets stuck at undefined reference to `__objc_class_name_Fraction' Do you have and idea how to resolve this issue?

  • Sass mixin not compiling?

    - by corroded
I have previously made a mixin in sass 2.2.22 for my font sizes(it's a font converter), like so: =6.5pts :font :size 9px It has been working ever since i first made it a year ago. We just upgraded to haml/sass 3 and now whenever I try to refresh the page im working on, a sass compile error appears like so: http://grab.by/4yFE I don't get it since Sass 3 documentation says that the = declaration for mixins is NOT deprecated. I tried uninstalling haml 3.0, restarted my server and deleted the generated css file and now it apparently works. Problem is, I need haml 3 for another related project where we just started using Compass. Why is the compiler complaining when the documentation claims the declaration is not deprecated?

  • Using a Cross Thread Boolean to Abort Thread

    - by Jon
Possible Duplicate: Can a C# thread really cache a value and ignore changes to that value on other threads? Lets say we have this code: bool KeepGoing = true; DataInThread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(DataInThreadMethod)); DataInThread.Start(); //bla bla time goes on KeepGoing = false; private void DataInThreadMethod() { while (KeepGoing) { //Do stuff } } } Now the idea is that using the boolean is a safe way to terminate the thread however because that boolean exists on the calling thread does that cause any issue? That boolean is only used on the calling thread to stop the thread so its not like its being used elsewhere

  • iphone: cross platform references and referencing external framework resources

    - by dan
hi there working on an iphone app and separate framework. the separate framework is for an API that i'm building for use in multiple future apps. this api now needs to reference resources (images). what i would like to do is keep the resources WITH the API framework as local set of resources. i followed the instructions from http://www.clintharris.net/2009/iphone-app-shared-libraries/ to setup my app's project to use the headers from the separate API framework. what i can't seem to figure out is how to automatically load the framework's resources into the app's xcode environment so they can be linked in at app compile time. sure, i can drag the resources across from the framework into the main app's set of resources. but that seems kinda ugly and another step that possibly can be automated (??) anyone know of a better way? it would be great if any changes from the framework would be automatically available in the main app (due to the project 'link-age'). thanks for any help/tips/suggestions...

  • maven test cannot load cross-module resources/properties ?

    - by smallufo
I have a maven mantained project with some modules . One module contains one XML file and one parsing class. Second module depends on the first module. There is a class that calls the parsing class in the first module , but maven seems cannot test the class in the second module. Maven test reports : java.lang.NullPointerException at java.util.Properties.loadFromXML(Properties.java:851) at foo.firstModule.Parser.<init>(Parser.java:92) at foo.secondModule.Program.<init>(Program.java:84) In "Parser.java" (in the first module) , it uses Properties and InputStream to read/parse an XML file : InputStream xmlStream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("Data.xml"); Properties properties = new Properties(); properties.loadFromXML(xmlStream); The "data.xml" is located in first module's resources/foo/firstModule directory , and it tests OK in the first module. It seems when testing the second module , maven cannot correctly load the Data.xml in the first module . I thought I can solve the problem by using maven-dependency-plugin:unpack to solve it . In the second module's POM file , I add these snippets : <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-dependency-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.1</version> <executions> <execution> <id>data-copying</id> <phase>test-compile</phase> <goals> <goal>unpack</goal> </goals> <configuration> <artifactItems> <artifactItem> <groupId>foo</groupId> <artifactId>firstModule</artifactId> <type>jar</type> <includes>foo/firstModule/Data.xml</includes> <outputDirectory>${project.build.directory}/classes</outputDirectory> </artifactItem> </artifactItems> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> In this POM file , I try to unpack the first module , and copy the Data.xml to classes/foo/firstModule/ directory , and then run tests. And indeed , it is copied to the right directory , I can find the "Data.xml" file in "target/classes/foo/firstModule" directory. But maven test still complains it cannot read the File (Properties.loadFromXML() throws NPE). I don't know how to solve this problem. I tried other output directory , such as ${project.build.directory}/resources , and ${project.build.directory}/test-classes , but all in vain... Any advices now ? Thanks in advanced. Environments : Maven 2.2.1 , eclipse , m2eclipse

  • g++ Linking Error on Mac while compiling FFMPEG

    - by Saptarshi Biswas
g++ on Snow Leopard is throwing linking errors on the following piece of code test.cpp #include <iostream> using namespace std; #include <libavcodec/avcodec.h> // required headers #include <libavformat/avformat.h> int main(int argc, char**argv) { av_register_all(); // offending library call return 0; } When I try to compile this using the following command g++ test.cpp -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib \ -lavcodec -lavformat -lavutil -lz -lm -o test I get the error Undefined symbols: "av_register_all()", referenced from: _main in ccUD1ueX.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Interestingly, if I have an equivalent c code, test.c #include <stdio.h> #include <libavcodec/avcodec.h> #include <libavformat/avformat.h> int main(int argc, char**argv) { av_register_all(); return 0; } gcc compiles it just fine gcc test.c -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib \ -lavcodec -lavformat -lavutil -lz -lm -o test I am using Mac OS X 10.6.5 $ g++ --version i686-apple-darwin10-g++-4.2.1 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664) $ gcc --version i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664) FFMPEG's libavcodec, libavformat etc. are C libraries and I have built them on my machine like thus: ./configure --enable-gpl --enable-pthreads --enable-shared \ --disable-doc --enable-libx264 make && sudo make install As one would expect, libavformat indeed contains the symbol av_register_all $ nm /usr/local/lib/libavformat.a | grep av_register_all 0000000000000000 T _av_register_all 00000000000089b0 S _av_register_all.eh I am inclined to believe g++ and gcc have different views of the libraries on my machine. g++ is not able to pick up the right libraries. Any clue?

  • Term for cross-browser/desktop applications?

    - by AaronLS
Is there a term that describes applications that can compile as both browser and desktop applications? An example would be an Adobe Flex application being compiled as a Flash application for display in a browser and also being compiled as an Air application to be run as a desktop application.

  • Fluxbox compiling problems after making a change.

    - by Jack
I'm trying to make the change here: http://fluxbox-wiki.org/index.php?title=Howto_Make_dblclick_titlebar_maximize I am using the current git version of the fluxbox source. I assume that those instructions are perhaps no longer valid for the current git version. In the void FluxboxWindow::setupWindow() function I can see no references to CommandRef or frame. I would like to know if it is possible that I could work out where they should go in that function, with only having a limited knowledge? I am still trying to learn programming and don't know enough just yet to work out where they should go. I assume I can't just paste in the suggested lines anywhere in that function, but why not? I can paste the source if needed, but I am unsure where to paste to.

  • CRC for cross platform applications

    - by Kangkan
I wish to use a common CRC logic in a VB.NEt or C# application as well as on a c/Linux application. I have one c/Linux application that interacts with some webservice (c#) and also a web application (VB.NET). For some data, I want to put a CRC to be added to the data itself (say a flie) from the .NET side and check for the integrity of the data (checking the CRC) on the client and also the vice versa. Can somebody please guide me?
