• Android reset activity component state on navigation back

  I have 2 activities in my application. In activity1, I set some configuration and I modify the state of some component (ex: set button state disabled). And I navigate to activity2. In activity2 I do some stuff and at end, I finish this activity and come back to activity1. But In activity1, my components state are the same when I leave this activity. How to reset the components state with valuesdeclared in XML file (layout) ?

But for multiple users, log file cannot be read easily.   I feel like there should be a simple way to do this but I can't figure it out. I have a JFileChooser that allows the user to select directories. I want to show all the files in the directories to give the user some context, but only directories should be accepted as selections (maybe the Open button would be disabled when a file is selected). Is there an easy way of doing this?

  In TOAD (for SQL or Oracle), there is a simple AUTOFORMAT button that will nicely format your query - I couldn't find that option in SSMS 2005, but was advised by a co-worker that it was available in SSMS 2008. I am unable to locate the option there either. This is VERY helpful when pasting a query from another source. Thanks for any assistance.

Can someone help me understand a few points for the screenshot below? What is the root layout used here? How do I get the button bar to remain at the bottom, while the center section scrolls when it is long enough? Similar to the Ok/Cancel buttons seen here, how do I make them each 50% width (minus some margin and padding)?
