  • Combine Hibernate class with @Bindable for SwingBuilder without Griffon?

    - by Misha Koshelev
Dear All: I have implemented a back-end for my application in Groovy/Gradle, and am now trying to implement a GUI. I am using Hibernate for my data storage (with HSQLDB) per http://groovy.codehaus.org/Using+Hibernate+with+Groovy (with Jasypt for encryption) and it is working quite well. I was wondering if there are any good tips for using @Bindable with, e.g., an @Entity class such as @Entity class Book { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) public Long id @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) public Set<Author> authors public String title String toString() { "$title by ${authors.name.join(', ')}" } } or if I am: (i) asking for Griffon (ii) completely on the wrong track? Thank you! Misha

  • QtScript: Passing an array of objects to C++

    - by Plow
Hi, I want to pass an array of objects from my QtScript to C++ but I have not been able to figure out how to achieve this. As soon as I create an array, the elements inside it are converted to strings before I can access them. This is what I have been trying so far: class myObject : public QObject, public QScriptable { Q_OBJECT public Q_SLOTS: void test(QVariantList list); }; void myObject::test(QVariantList list) { for (QVariantList::const_iterator it = list.begin(); it != list.end(); ++it) { QVariant element = *it; qDebug() << "List element type: " << element.typeName(); if (element.canConvert<QVariantMap>()) { // Not getting here } } } The following script myObject.test([{"foo": 1, "bar": 2}, {"baaz": 3, "baaaz": 4}]); prints List element type: "QString" List element type: "QString" I am using Qt 4.6...

  • How to pass an event to a method and then subscribe to it?

    - by Ryan Peschel
Event Handler public void DeliverEvent(object sender, EventArgs e) { } #1: This Works public void StartListening(Button source) { source.Click += DeliverEvent; } #2: And so does this.. public void StartListening(EventHandler eventHandler) { eventHandler += DeliverEvent; } But in #2, you cannot call the method because if you try something like this: StartListening(button.Click); You get this error: The event 'System.Windows.Forms.Control.Click' can only appear on the left hand side of += or -= Is there any way around that error? I want to be able to pass the event and not the object housing the event to the StartListening method.

  • Accessing Linq data in telerik grid ItemCreated method

    - by Jack
Not sure if the title of this question makes sense, but here's my problem: I have a telerik grid bound to a Linq data object, however, I limit the fields returned: <IQueryable>filter = data.Select(x => new {x.ID, x.Name, x.Age}); I would like to access these fields in the ItemCreated method of the grid: protected void rgPeople_ItemCreated(object sender, GridItemEventArgs e) { Telerik.Web.UI.GridDataItem item = (GridDataItem)e.Item; ?????? Person = (???????)e.Item.DataItem; } What do I declare ?????? as so that I can use: String ID = Person.ID; String Name = Person.Name; etc

  • WCF Service Memory Leaks

    - by Mubashar Ahmad
Dear Devs I have a very small wcf service hosted in a console app. [ServiceContract] public interface IService1 { [OperationContract] void DoService(); } [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode=InstanceContextMode.PerCall)] public class Service1 : IService1 { public void DoService() { } } and its being called as using (ServiceReference1.Service1Client client = new ServiceReference1.Service1Client()) { client.DoService(new DoServiceRequest()); client.Close(); } Please remember that service is published on basicHttpBindings. Problem Now when i performed above client code in a loop of 1000 i found big difference between "All Heap bytes" and "Private Bytes" performance counters (i used .net memory profiler). After investigation i found some of the objects are not properly disposed following are the list of those objects (1000 undisposed instance were found -- equals to the client calls) (namespace for all of them is System.ServiceModel.Channels) HttpOutput.ListenerResponseHttpOutput.ListenerResponseOutputStream BodyWriterMessage BufferedMessage HttpRequestContext.ListenerHttpContext.ListenerContextHttpInput.ListenerContextInputStream HttpRequestContext.ListenerHttpContext Questions Why do we have lot of undisposed objects and how to control them. Please Help

  • C# String Operator Overloading

    - by ScottSEA
    G'Day Mates - What is the right way (excluding the argument of whether it is advisable) to overload the string operators <, , <= and = ? I've tried it five ways to Sunday and I get various errors - my best shot was declaring a partial class and overloading from there, but it won't work for some reason. namespace System { public partial class String { public static Boolean operator <(String a, String b) { return a.CompareTo(b) < 0; } public static Boolean operator >(String a, String b) { return a.CompareTo(b) > 0; } } }

  • How do I display a field's hidden characters in the result of a query in Oracle?

    - by Chris Williams
I have two rows that have a varchar column that are different according to a Java .equals(). I can't easily change or debug the Java code that's running against this particular database but I do have access to do queries directly against the database using SQLDeveloper. The fields look the same to me (they are street addresses with two lines separated by some new line or carriage feed/new line combo). Is there a way to see all of the hidden characters as the result of a query?I'd like to avoid having to use the ascii() function with substr() on each of the rows to figure out which hidden character is different. I'd also accept some query that shows me which character is the first difference between the two fields.

  • acts_as_solr returns all rows in the database when using the model as search query

    - by chris Chan
In our application we're using acts_as_solr for search. Everything seems to be running smoothly except for the fact that using the model name as the search query returns every single row in the table. For example, let's say we have a users table. We specify acts_as_solr in our model to search the fields first name, last name and handle acts_as_solr :fields = [:handle, :lname, :fname]. When you use "user" as the search term it returns every single user in the system, or every row in the database as a result. Has anyone else run into this?

  • Windows 7, "Pin to Taskbar" for all users.

    - by Archit Baweja
In windows XP, you can add a shortcut to the start menu or desktop for all users by copying/moving the shortcut to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users[Desktop|Start Menu] I know same is the case in Windows 7 with a slightly different path (C:\Users\Public). However I'm still trying to find out how to add a 'shortcut' for all users. There is no C:\Users\Public\Taskbar. Any ideas? Or is it just not available as a feature?

Thank you.

  • Help creating a ColumnName Convention using FluentNHibernate

If not, which one? } } Please help.

  • PDO update query with conditional?

    - by dmontain
I have a PDO mysql that updates 3 fields. $update = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field1=:field1, field2=:field2, field3=:field3 WHERE key=:key"); But I want field3 to be updated only when $update3 = true; (meaning that the update of field3 is controlled by a conditional statement) Is this possible to accomplish with a single query? I could do it with 2 queries where I update field1 and field2 then check the boolean and update field3 if needed in a separate query. //run this query to update only fields 1 and 2 $update_part1 = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field1=:field1, field2=:field2 WHERE key=:key"); //if field3 should be update, run a separate query to update it separately if ($update3){ $update_part2 = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field3=:field3 WHERE key=:key"); } But hopefully there is a way to accomplish this in 1 query?

  • JPanel: both implementing my own paintComponent() and rendering children doesn't work

    - by Paul Marshall
    I'm extending a JPanel to display a game board, and adding a JEditorPane at the bottom to hold some status text. Unfortunately, the game board renders just fine, but the JEditorPane is just a blank gray area until I highlight the text in it, when it will render whatever text is highlighted (but not the rest). If I'm understanding Swing right, it should work, because super.paintComponent(g) should render the other children (i.e., the JEditorPane). Tell me, o great stackoverflow, what bonehead mistake am I making? public GameMap extends JPanel { public GameMap() { JEditorPane statusLines = new JEditorPane("text/plain","Stuff"); this.setLayout(new BoxLayout(this,BoxLayout.PAGE_AXIS)); this.add(new Box.Filler(/*enough room to draw my game board*/)); this.add(statusLines); } public void paintComponent(Graphics g){ super.paintComponent(g); for ( all rows ){ for (all columns){ //paint one tile } } } }

  • Static nested class visibility issue with Scala / Java interop

    - by Matt R
Suppose I have the following Java file in a library: package test; public abstract class AbstractFoo { protected static class FooHelper { public FooHelper() {} } } I would like to extend it from Scala: package test2 import test.AbstractFoo class Foo extends AbstractFoo { new AbstractFoo.FooHelper() } I get an error, "class FooHelper cannot be accessed in object test.AbstractFoo". (I'm using a Scala 2.8 nightly). The following Java compiles correctly: package test2; import test.AbstractFoo; public class Foo2 extends AbstractFoo { { new FooHelper(); } } The Scala version also compiles if it's placed in the test package. Is there another way to get it to compile?

  • Custom field not showing in Custom Content Type

    - by BeraCim
Hi all: I created a custom column in a custom content type in a Sharepoint Web manually (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb). I now want to programmatically copy this content type across to another web (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb2). However, upon looping through the custom content type in code, I could only find 2 fields: Content Type and Title (expected: Title and custom column). The custom column was missing. I'm very sure that the content type and field are added at the web level. The custom content type is inherited from Item. When I loop through the web's fields, I can see the custom column, and that was copied to the new web. It is only within the content type that the custom column is not showing up. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

  • Error implementing Dynamic Tab with ListView within each Tab - Tabs don't show up

    - by Jon
I am trying to create a dyanmic tab application that has tabs on the left for each type of Food (e.g. Pasta, Dairy, etc. including those dynamically defined by user) and for each tab, have a listview connected to a SQLite database that updates. This is in the onCreate method: setContentView(R.layout.foodCabinet_layout); dbHelper = new FoodStorageDBHelper(this); dbHelper.open(); Cursor foodTypes = dbHelper.getAllFoodTypes(); ArrayList<String> typeOfFood = new ArrayList<String>(); typeOfFoods.add(foodTypes.getString(1)); while(foodTypes.moveToNext()){ typeOfFoods.add(foodTypes.getString(1)); } final TabHost tbh = (TabHost)findViewById(R.id.food_tabhost_cabinet); tbh.setup(); for(final String s : typeOfFood){ TabSpec nts = tbh.newTabSpec(s); nts.setIndicator(s.replace('_', ' ')); nts.setContent(new TabHost.TabContentFactory(){ public View createTabContent(String tag) { ListView foodCabinetLV = new ListView(FoodCabinet.this); Cursor mCursor = dbHelper.getAllFoodsWithType(s); // Create an array to specify the fields we want to display in the list (only TITLE) String[] from = new String[]{FoodStorageDBHelper.KEY_NAME, FoodStorageDBHelper.KEY_YEAR,FoodStorageDBHelper.KEY_RANK}; // and an array of the fields we want to bind those fields to (in this case just text1) int[] to = new int[]{R.id.childname,R.id.childyear,R.id.childrank}; // Now create a simple cursor adapter and set it to display SimpleCursorAdapter notes = new SimpleCursorAdapter(FoodCabinet.this, R.layout.food_row, mCursor, from, to); foodCabinetLV.setAdapter(notes); startManagingCursor(mCursor); foodCabinetLV.setOnItemClickListener( new AdapterView.OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) { Intent i = new Intent(); i.setClass(arg0.getContext(), EditFoodDialog.class); i.putExtra(FoodStorageDBHelper.KEY_ROWID, Long.toString(arg3)); startActivityForResult(i, LoadFoodOrganizer.ACTIVITY_EDIT); } }); return foodCabinetLV; } }); } For some reason, it doesn't show anything... it's a blank screen. Any help would be very much appreciated. Let me know! Thanks! Jon

  • EF4 Import/Lookup thousands of records - my performance stinks!

    - by Dennis Ward
I'm trying to setup something for a movie store website (using ASP.NET, EF4, SQL Server 2008), and in my scenario, I want to allow a "Member" store to import their catalog of movies stored in a text file containing ActorName, MovieTitle, and CatalogNumber as follows: Actor, Movie, CatalogNumber John Wayne, True Grit, 4577-12 (repeated for each record) This data will be used to lookup an actor and movie, and create a "MemberMovie" record, and my import speed is terrible if I import more than 100 or so records using these tables: Actor Table: Fields = {ID, Name, etc.} Movie Table: Fields = {ID, Title, ActorID, etc.} MemberMovie Table: Fields = {ID, CatalogNumber, MovieID, etc.} My methodology to import data into the MemberMovie table from a text file is as follows (after the file has been uploaded successfully): Create a context. For each line in the file, lookup the artist in the Actor table. For each Movie in the Artist table, lookup the matching title. If a matching Movie is found, add a new MemberMovie record to the context and call ctx.SaveChanges(). The performance of my implementation is terrible. My expectation is that this can be done with thousands of records in a few seconds (after the file has been uploaded), and I've got something that times out the browser. My question is this: What is the best approach for performing bulk lookups/inserts like this? Should I call SaveChanges only once rather than for each newly created MemberMovie? Would it be better to implement this using something like a stored procedure? A snippet of my loop is roughly this (edited for brevity): while ((fline = file.ReadLine()) != null) { string [] token = fline.Split(separator); string Actor = token[0]; string Movie = token[1]; string CatNumber = token[2]; Actor found_actor = ctx.Actors.Where(a => a.Name.Equals(actor)).FirstOrDefault(); if (found_actor == null) continue; Movie found_movie = found_actor.Movies.Where( s => s.Title.Equals(title, StringComparison.CurrentCultureIgnoreCase)).FirstOrDefault(); if (found_movie == null) continue; ctx.MemberMovies.AddObject(new MemberMovie() { MemberProfileID = profile_id, CatalogNumber = CatNumber, Movie = found_movie }); try { ctx.SaveChanges(); } catch { } } Any help is appreciated!
