• Powershell: Cannot connect via SSL

Am following "secrets to powershell remoting" to setup an SLL account and seem to be missing a step. I ran Winrm create winrm/config/Listener?Address=*+Transport=HTTPS @{Hostname="redacted";CertificateThumbprint="redacted"} and got PS WSMan:\localhost> dir wsman:\localhost\listener\Listener_1184937132 WSManConfig: Microsoft.WSMan.Management\WSMan::localhost\Listener\Listener_1184937132 Name Value Type ---- ----- ---- Address * System.String Transport HTTP System.String Port 5985 System.String Hostname System.String Enabled true System.String URLPrefix wsman System.String CertificateThumbprint System.String ListeningOn_756355952 10.0.0.54 System.String ListeningOn_1201550598 127.0.0.1 System.String PS WSMan:\localhost> dir wsman:\localhost\listener\Listener_1187163138 WSManConfig: Microsoft.WSMan.Management\WSMan::localhost\Listener\Listener_1187163138 Name Value Type ---- ----- ---- Address * System.String Transport HTTP System.String Port 80 System.String Hostname System.String Enabled true System.String URLPrefix wsman System.String CertificateThumbprint System.String ListeningOn_756355952 10.0.0.54 System.String ListeningOn_1201550598 127.0.0.1 System.String PS WSMan:\localhost> dir wsman:\localhost\listener\Listener_220862350 WSManConfig: Microsoft.WSMan.Management\WSMan::localhost\Listener\Listener_220862350 Name Value Type ---- ----- ---- Address * System.String Transport HTTPS System.String Port 5986 System.String Hostname redacted System.String Enabled true System.String URLPrefix wsman System.String CertificateThumbprint redacted System.String ListeningOn_756355952 10.0.0.54 System.String ListeningOn_1201550598 127.0.0.1 System.String Trouble is when i do this PS C:\Users\redacted> enter-pssession -Computername redacted -Credential redacted\redacted -UseSSL I get this Enter-PSSession : Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The client cannot connect to th e destination specified in the request. • Creating Tables in DokuWiki

- by Bryan
I'm trying to create a table in DokuWiki, with a cell that vertically spans, however unlike the examples in the syntax guide, the cell I want to create has more than one row of text. The following is an ASCII version of what I'm trying to achieve +-----------+-----------+ | Heading 1 | Heading 2 | +-----------+-----------+ | | Multiple | | Some text | rows of | | | text | +-----------+-----------+ I've tried the following syntax ^ Heading 1 ^ Heading 2 ^ | Some text | Multiple | | ::: | rows of | | ::: | text | but this generates the output +-----------+-----------+ | Heading 1 | Heading 2 | +-----------+-----------+ | | Multiple | | +-----------+ | Some text | rows of | | +-----------+ | | text | +-----------+-----------+ I can't find anything in the DokuWiki documentation, so I'm hoping I'm missing something fundamentally simple?

• How can I get Courier 10 Pitch font for Windows?

- by David B
I created some SVG drawings using Inkscape on my Ubuntu. I now want to edit the SVGs using Inkscape running on Windows 7. The problem: the drawings has text formatted with Courier 10 Pitch font which is missing from my Windows system. Hence, the text is formatted using another font, which messes everything up. How can I get this font for Windows? Or perhaps I can make Inkscape embed the font in the SVG from Ubuntu?

• Where can I report an issue with IIS?

- by Nathan Taylor
While working with an ASP.NET application on Chrome for Android I discovered that Request.Browser.Cookies returns False for that browser (despite the browser supporting cookies). Based on what I've read, this indicates a problem with the database which ASP.NET (and, I assume, IIS) uses to look up information about different UserAgents. The fact that it returns False means that the database is either missing Chrome for Android, or has invalid data for it. What is the a proper place to report IIS issues like this?

• What is AddType application/x-httpd-php-source

- by egor
I have the apache2.0, PHP5.2.4 and the directive in the httpd.conf: AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .php .php3 .php4 .php5 .php6 AddType directive is used to maps the given filename extensions onto the specified content type. This is the only meaning of this directive. But why does this method switch off PHP handler, that assigned .php extensions, and I can view source code of scripts in my browser? And another: AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php Why does this method switch on PHP handler? This simply must send header "Content-Type: application/x-httpd-php5" to my browser and this must be only meaning of directive AddType from mod_mime. I'm confused. Thanks for your replies.

• How to add GD to a PHP 5.3 CentOS installation from a different repo?

- by Mauro
I installed PHP 5.3 on a CentOS 5.3 using yum and repos from Webtatic (http://www.webtatic.com/packages/php53/) and now I'd like to add the GD library to that installation but Webtatic seems to be offline. Now: # yum install php-gd Fails of course (not the same PHP version) into: *Error: Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.1.6-27.el5_5.3 is needed by package php-gd-5.1.6-27.el5_5.3.x86_64* And: # yum install php53-gd Fails into Error: php53-common conflicts with php-common How can I add the GD libraries now?

• Cinema4D XML scene not rendering texture

- by George Profenza
I exported a basic Cinema4D scene as XML (File Export Cinema 4D XML) then opened up the xml in Cinema4D and it looses the reference to the texture applied. If I open up the original c4d file and render it I can see my texture applied. If I open up the exported xml file and render it the texture is missing. Any way to get around that ?

• Force failover a Cisco ASA

- by user974896
I have two ASA in a lan state primary\secondary configuration. None of them have "failover active" or "no failover active" in their configuration. Would it be proper to failover in a manner such as: Log into console of primary unit and issue "failover lan state secondary", log into the console of the original secondary unit and issue "failover lan state primary". To fail back simply reverse the process or Log into the console of the primary unit and issue "no failover active", log into the console of the original secondary unit and issue "failover active". To fail back issue "failover active" on the original primary (now secondary) unit, and "no failover active" on the now primary unit. I do not like the second method because it adds configuration directives that were not in place before. Will the first method work?

• Routing protocols, distance vector vs link state

- by Artem Barger
I'm trying to figure out the differences(pros/cons) between two routing protocols approach and I would be great-full for any help, advice and explanation. As far I can say that it seems like distance vector is more static and more local based routing, since it doesn't know the network state whereas link state is more aware of current states therefore it seems more natural to use it over distance-vector, but I have a feeling like I'm missing something. And I would be glad to here about more aspects and different issues I have to consider while choosing one of them.

• How can I fix a broken AVI file?

- by KeyboardMonkey
I have a broken AVI, it won't play in VLC, Xine or MPlayer. I tried Handbrake (reads the file and resets the source to None), OggConvert, Avidemux and mencoder fail to read the file, I cannot seem to reencode this file. I suspect the header info is corrupt, is there a way to get the a/v streams out with a missing header?

• AD, Windows-NT Authentication queries

- by rockbala
Need Help on the following questions. When a users login (on a computer in the network) is validated against AD what is/are the authentication method used? When a users login is validated in Windows NT environment (not AD) what is/are the authentication method used? If all user's account is on AD, is it possible to change the authentication mechanism only (or protocols) from AD to NT and vice versa (if possible)? If part/whole of question 3 is valid, where should one look to change these authentication methods ? What is the difference between AD and Windows-NT authentication ? Windows server 2008 Domain controller used. Regards, Balaji

• Windows 7 Homegroups not working?

- by Jonas
I've got a homegroup set up, and only the accounts/machines where the user and password is identical can see/share files. I thought the setting to let homegroup control the accounts would make that requirement unnecessary....am I missing something? To be clear: I can see the other machines/user accounts in my homegroup listing, but I can't see any of the files in their shared libraries.

• Exposing server uptime a potential security vulnerability?

- by Edward Mazur
I run a browser-based game and as part of a page with a bunch of game statistics, I have the server uptime listed. It's currently at 177 days and so someone mentioned to me that I shouldn't do this because a long uptime indicates the kernel is old and therefore missing security updates. This certainly sounds logical, but I searched around and couldn't find any evidence to support it. So I'm just wondering, is this indeed something I should not have exposed?

• Problem with custom 404 page

- by user33687
Don't know if this question is appropriate here. I created an Alias directed to the root folder of the website (right now running on localhost). In the root folder, I have a custom 404 page, and I've added a .htaccess file in that folder with the "ErrorDocument 404 /404.html" line, but it still doesn't work. I'm pretty new to this stuff (web servers), so I must be missing something obvious. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
