Hi Anish Jhaveri,
I want to write a we based application with C# .Net and i need some framework to work with smart card in client-side.
please help me.
We have a proprietary framework and now we want to integrate the authentication by client side ssl certificates.
What are the best practices to map a client certificate to a proprietary user account (for example a simple user table in the database)?
Save to public key of the certificate?
Save issuer and serialnumber?
Or are there other possibilities?
I'm using Grails 2.2.4 with the Shiro plugin (v1.1.4) and would like to mark the cookies as secure so the session information won't be sent over http.
This is the attribute I want to set:
securityManager.sessionManager.sessionIdCookie.secure = true
The shiro source says to use the Grails bean property override mechanism, which is grails-app/conf/spring/resources.groovy How can I override just the one setting?
// If the legacy 'security.shiro.filter.config' option is set,
// use our custom INI-based filter...
if (application.config.security.shiro.filter.config) {
log.warn "security.shiro.filter.config option is deprecated. Use Grails' bean property override mechanism instead."
'filter-class'('org.apache.shiro.grails.LegacyShiroFilter')
'init-param' {
'param-name'('securityManagerBeanName')
'param-value'('shiroSecurityManager')
}
Hello
I want to design a WebService for communication between Win Mobile 6.5 based Palm device and a PHP web server. The Palm device software will be developed on .NET compact framework. The communication between web server and device I envision as XML over HTTP. I want a tool that will let me design the Webservice (interfaces, methods) and then generate the xsd schema together with xml messages for the communication. Can you recommend something?

Hi,
I need to write a program to scrape forums.
Should I write the program in Python using the Scrapy framework or should I use Php cURL?
Also is there a Php equivalent to Scrapy?
Thanks
I want to make a business logic of server side Java application as a set of scripts. So I need from a scripting engine:
Maximum Java interoperability (i.e.
Spring framework)
Script reloading and recompiling
Easy DB access from scripting language
Clear and simple
syntax (some DSL capabilities would
be nice to have), easy learning
curve for non-hardcore developers
Performance and stability
I had some experience in the similar project with Rhino and it was pretty good. But I want to see if there is something better. Currently I'm looking into Groovy. JRuby and Jython are a bit more complex than I need for this task. Any other suggestion? What to take into consideration?
We have a class, say LegacyUserSettingsService. LegacyUserSettingsService implements an interface, IUserSettingsService.
You can get an instance of the IUserSettingsService by calling our ApplicationServicesFactory. The factory uses Spring.NET to construct the concrete LegacyUserSettingsService.
The trouble is that new developers sometimes do their own thing and construct new instances of the LegacyUserSettingsService directly (instead of going via the factory).
Is there a way to protect the constructor of the concrete class so it can only be called from the factory? A well-known pattern perhaps?
Note that the concrete class resides in a different assembly (separate from the Factory's assembly, so the internal keyword is not a solution). The factory assembly references the other assembly that contains the concrete class.
Any ideas?
I have a web app that is using the 3.5 framework. I wanted to know how can I detect what webhost is rendering the page.
If the server is localhost, then send email notification to [email protected]
If the server is QA, then send email to [email protected]
Thanks
We're convincing our Products officer that we want to use JRuby on Rails, and we're having a hard time coming up with some statistics which show that:
Coding time is less using Rails vs. say Struts or Zend Framework or what have you.
Ruby (and JRuby in particular) performance isn't horrible (anymore).
Rails performance isn't bad either.
If you can get us some good stats quickly, we might have a chance!
Seems a great C++ unit testing framework. I'm just wanting something a bit more sophisticated than the console output for running the test, also something that makes it really easy to run specific tests (since gtest supports all kinds of test filtering)
If there is nothing, I'll probably roll my own
Hi I mostly do C++, Objective-C programming. And I found Xcode plus an auto completion/macro plugin (Completion Dictionary) quite adequate.
However, all people seem to praise over their pure text editors. I tried Textmate for a bit; liked its simplicity but dislike its files/framework handling.
Am I missing something here? Or, do Vim or Emacs have auto-completion as good as Xcode?
I'm building a Route Planner Webapp using Spring/Hibernate/Tomcat and a mysql database,
I have a database containing read only data, such as Bus Stop Coordinates, Bus times which is never updated. I'm trying to make the app run faster, each time the application is run it will preform approx 1000 reads to the database to calculate a route.
I have setup a Ehcache which greatly improves the read from database times.
I'm now setting terracotta + Ehcache distributed caching to share the cache with multiple Tomcat JVMs. This seems a bit complicated. I've tried memcached but it was not performing as fast as ehcache.
I'm wondering if a MongoDb or Redis would be better suited. I have no experience with nosql but I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas. What i need is quick access to the read only database.
The System.Diagnostics assembly is part of the Silverlight CLR framework, but it only includes classes related to debugging, the Process class is not available. Is there any other way to start an outside process from a Silverlight application?
Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding a modular GWT based application framework. I have some ideas about them but being new to the field of web development I feel they are far from ideal. I'd appreciate a few comments and suggestions in this regard. Here are my questions:
I am developing a framework which will allow third parties to embed GWT applications into our website and do some communication with them using simple iFrame postMessage. All these third party modules are going to use our SDK which is also GWT based. The problem arises that even though all the modules will be using the same codebase there is going to be a massive overheard in the amount of duplicate Javascript code (i.e. our common SDK code base which is quite large) being downloaded on the client's machine. This is highly redundant and problematic, not only due to the sheer size of duplicate code but, also due to the fact that subsequent updates of the SDK would require the modules to be recompiled which is going to create a DLL hell kind of scenario in the long run. What is the best way of doing this kind of thing? Is there a way where I can have some static GWT code (i.e. the SDK) and the dynamic GWT module refers to it (even if lies on a different domain) and it all work happily?
The other part of the problem lies in providing robust scripting front end to the SDK. At first it appears to be trivial since Javascript itself is a scripting language. However, I do not know how to load and call a piece of pure Javascript code at runtime? I am willing to put restrictions on the target Javascript (i.e. having a function main and unique namespace or something). Furthermore the Javascript will come as a string from a database and not as a full URL. If its doable in Javascript how does one get this right in GWT i.e. forcing the compiler to emit a certain function in the generated Javascript? This I believe can be lesser of a problem by having a stub Javascript with all the right requirements which just loads up a GWT generated Javascript. Is any of this possible at all?
I generally hate to be this verbose but I hope to find a quick solution to the problem as its holding up my progress. I'd highly appreciate any comments, suggestions and experiences.
I'm looking for web app frameworks and/or database administration tools, either popular and unpopular, written in any language, for any relational database.
In short, I'm looking for web accessible CRUD front-ends with minimal programming effort.
For example:
phpMyAdmin (MySQL administration tool)
Ruby on Rails (web app framework with scaffolding)
Hi,
I want to know if there is any open source testing tool for cloud computing. We have built a cloud framework with Xen, Eucalyptus, Hadoop, HBase as different layers. I am not looking at testing each of these tools separately, but i want to test them from the perspective of fitting into a cloud environment (for example scalability of xen hypervisor to handle multiple VMs).
Would be great if you can suggest me some tool (open source) for the above.
I want to get the volume or even how much noise is coming through the mic. So someone is talking or some noise is going on in the background I want to know how much. Which framework would I use: Audio Toolbox, Audio Unit, AV Foundation, and Core Audio
I created a web app and I want the users of the app to use limited functionality free.
Or I might even decide down the road to enable free users to use the app for no more than, say 10 days.
is there a library or framework which helps with such issues ?
I am a newbie to the web application development. I have to start with a Framework which will make me grow up higher in my career. So please suggest which technology i have to choose? Lot of technologies for web development is articulating in this field like PHP,JSP,Stuts,JSF,Flex,ColdFusion etc.
Give me some suggestions to how to start?
This is a tall order, but is there a jQuery or Mootools (or other framework) plugin to wrap text around images and support IE6? I've tried the jQSlickWrap, but unless the browser supports HTML 5, you're out of luck. What's strange is that IE 6 supports the jQuery Background Canvas plugin, which uses the CANVAS object (via excanvas.js) just as this plugin does. Thanks.
Sorry, this is a very basic question, as we are just getting started with exploring GWT.
We would like to know if it's easy and possible to get GWT to "output" XML, JSON and regular HTML. I would like to know this because ideally we would port parts of our backends over slowly, and it would be nice to drop in GWT in place of AJAX wherever we need it during the transition period.
Places that we would like to be able to use:
1) We have a pure XML page that we return to our client (mobile) app and right now this is handled through Spring MVC with a nice template. What's the best replacement for this?
2) We have a regular AJAX page that makes async requests and expects replies in JSON. Can we easily replace this backend?
3) We have some regular webpages where we use templates to output them, and we would like to first switch them over in the simplest possible way, without converting them to the regular GWT UI framework.
Thanks!
I need a UserControl to display pictures as a Gallery in Winforms. I have my pictures as a Image Collection but no problem to change to fit Control capabilities.
It could be nice if it is for .NET 1.1 but since I'm planning to migrate all our code to 2.0 if the control is in that framework it could be useful in the future
If it is free much better :)
Does any of you know a control like this?
Thanks!
I'd like to provide a browser page to help non-techies run the various tests I've created using the standard django test framework.
The ideal would be for a way to display all the tests found for an application with tick boxes against each one, so the user could choose to run all tests or just a selection.
Output would be displayed in a window/frame for review.
Anyone know of such a thing?
