• apt-get erroring because of a broken package

  Everytime I run apt-get install or update on my server I get the following error: (May not be exactly this because I am translating from portuguese) An error was found when processing: netatalk E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I am not trying to install that package. This error appeared when I tried to install that package, which failed to install, and it won't disappear. This doesn't prevent me from installing other packages. It installs them, just gives this error at the end.

But when I tried to install my Ubuntu 10.10 with Wubi installer the option to install with wubi was disabled. Help me to install Ubuntu with Wubi installer on Windows 8 if Windows 8 supports it. If it does not, please recommend any other alternative to Wubi. I use Wubi mainly because I can easily remove the Linux operating system.

  Hi guys, I'm trying to install some CMS software (Wiccle). I was using XAMPP's MySQL but was getting a lot of errors (the same configuration works on another machine) so thought I'd install MySQL Community Edition to see if the proplem was related to the MySQL server. When I install and run the MySQL Community Edition service, however, it only works with my XAMPP password, and contains the same tables as the XAMPP install. Is there a common local database file where the database and login info is stored? Any help appreciated

• zsh partially completion in aptitude/wajig

  I'm using wajig to install packages, however when i've changed my shell to zsh it turned out that zsh doesn't list all packages in completion list, for ex. apt-get install octave[TAB] (about 70 completions) but when i try wajig install octave[TAB] or aptitude install octave[TAB] zsh shows only 19 completions other shells i've tested (bash, fish) shows all ~70 completions in all 3 cases. So is there any way to 'fix' this completion in zsh?

  I'm trying to create a install script for some FreeBSD machines. I want to install a few ports but change several configurations before installing, and without the dialog popup. I've tried almost everything but no success. I.E: I'm trying to install nginx with HTTP_SSL module but i can't seem to pass the correct parameter to the make install clean command. I also want to use all other default settings, and only change this one. Any help will be appreciated.

  In my Core i5 desktop machine I tried to install windows 7 32 bit Ultimate. I received blue screen of death while installing OS. Earlier I had was 64 bit Windows vista which was working fine but now i cant install any of OS. When I try to re-install OS again same error screen pops up? how can I fix this ? I have 4GB of RAM installed does it have problems with 32 bit OS. When I install second OS I didn't reformat the entire hard disk.

  I am attempting to write a Windows Desktop App (using WCF) that is a consumer of a web service. The application: Sends a SOAP message to a British Government Server to get an authentication token based on the arugments passed Retrieves a response from that server in the form of a string which contains the authentication token. I have a template of the SOAP message from the British Government, and a WSDL file for the service. What I have tried Add a service reference using the WSDL file. I received the following error: URI formats are not supported. Add a Web Reference using the URL of the service. I received the following error: The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method Not Allowed. Send the SOAP request using a POST. The Call to GetResponse() threw a 500 External Server Error. • How to configure LocalSessionFactoryBean to release connections after transaction end?

  I am testing an application (Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.5.0 Beta, Atomikos 3.6.2, and Postgreql 8.4.2) with the configuration for the DAO listed below. The problem that I see is that the pool of 10 connections with the dataSource gets exhausted after the 10's transaction. I know 'hibernate.connection.release_mode' has no effect unless the session is obtained with openSession rather then using a contextual session. I am wandering if anyone has found a way to configure the LocalSessionFactoryBean to release connections after any transaction. • Silverlight Recruiting Application Part 6 - Adding an Interview Scheduling Module/View

  Between the last post and this one I went ahead and carried the ideas for the Jobs module and view into the Applicants module and view- they're both doing more or less the same thing, except with different objects being at their core.  Made for an easy cut-and-paste operation with a few items being switched from one to another.  Now that we have the ability to add postings and applicants, wouldn't it be nice if we could schedule an interview?  Of course it would! Scheduling Module I think you get the drift from previous posts that these project structures start looking somewhat similar.  The interview scheduling module is no different than the rest- it gets a SchedulingModule.cs file at the root that inherits from IModule, and there is a single SchedulerView.xsml and SchedulerViewModel.cs setup for our V+VM.  We have one unique concern as we enter into this- RadScheduler deals with AppointmentsSource, not ItemsSource, so there are some special considerations to take into account when planning this module. everything I went ahead and extracted my templates in Blend for RadScheduler so I could modify it as I pleased.  For the faint of heart, the RadScheduler template is a few thousand lines of goodness since there are some very complex things going on in that control.  I've gone ahead and trimmed down the template parts I don't need as much as possible, so what is left is all that is relevant to the 201.        entityInterview.PostingID = appointmentInterview.PostingID; 202.    } 203.   204.    #endregion 205.} One thing we're doing here which you won't see in any of the other ViewModels is creating a duplicate collection.  I know this is something which will be fixed down the line for using RadScheduler, simplifying this process, but with WCF RIA changing as it does I wanted to ensure functionality would remain consistent as I continued development on this application.  So, I do a little bit of duplication, but for the greater good.  This all takes place starting on line 79, so for every entity that comes back we add it to the collection that is bound to RadScheduler.  Otherwise, the DelegateCommands that you see correspond directly to the events they are named after.  In each case, rather than sending over the full event arguments, I just send in the appointment in question (coming through as the object obj in all cases) so I can add (line 91), edit (line 119), and delete appointments (line 142) like normal.  This just ensures they get updated back to my database.  Also, the one bit of code you won't see is for the Appointment Creating (line 110) event- that is because in the command I've created I simply make the replacement I need to: 1.void element_AppointmentCreating(object sender, AppointmentCreatingEventArgs e) 2.{ 3.    e.NewAppointment = new InterviewAppointment(); 204.    } 205.   206.    #endregion 207.} Nice... right? :) One really important thing to note as well.  See on line 51 where I set the DataContext before the Loaded event?  This is super important, as if you don't have this set before the usercontrol is loaded, the DataContextProxy has no context to use and your EditAppointmentDialog Job/Applicant dropdowns will be blank and empty.  Trust me on this, took a little bit of debugging to figure out that by setting the DataContext post-loaded would only lead to disaster and frustration.  Otherwise, the only other real difference is that instead of sending an ActionHistory item through an event to get added to the database and saved, I do those right in the callback from submitting.  The Result Again, I only have to post one picture because these bad boys used nearly identical code for both the MVVM and the code-behind views, so our end result is... So what have we learned here today?  One, for the most part this MVVM thing is somewhat easy.  Yeah, you sometimes have to write a bunch of extra code, but with the help of a few useful snippits you can turn the process into a pretty streamlined little workflow.  Heck, this story gets even easier as you can see in this blog post by Michael Washington- specifically run a find on 'InvokeCommandAction' and you'll see the section regarding the command on TreeView in Blend 4.  Brilliant!  MVVM never looked so sweet! • Snow Leopard upgrade -> reinstalling sqlite3-ruby gem problem

  Hi all, I got ruby 1.8.7 (native compiled), rails 2.3.4, OSX 10.6.2 and also sqlite3-ruby. The error I'm getting when accessing the rails app is NameError: uninitialized constant SQLite3::Driver::Native::Driver::API History: I upgraded to snow leopard by migrating my apps with a FW-cable from my old macbook to the new one. Everything was running perfectly for months, but Yesterday I needed to install watir, which was dependant on rb-appscript, which didn't build due a "wrong architecture" error in libsqlite3.dylib. I figured the build was made on the old machine, so i wanted to rebuild sqlite3-ruby: $ sudo gem uninstall sqlite3-ruby $ sudo gem install sqlite3-ruby Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing sqlite3-ruby: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. /usr/local/bin/ruby extconf.rb checking for fdatasync() in -lrt... no checking for sqlite3.h... yes checking for sqlite3_open() in -lsqlite3... no * extconf.rb failed * Could not create Makefile due to some reason, probably lack of necessary libraries and/or headers. Check the mkmf.log file for more details. You may need configuration options. It seems like the sqlite3 libs are not working properly. I've tried to install macports sqlite3 (sudo port install sqlite3) and use that instead, but with same result... so i rebuild sqlite3 from scratch.. download-configure-make-make install. After that, the gem now builds perfectly, but doesn't work in rails, giving the error in the top of this article. I'm not really sure where to go from here because I've tried the following Rebuild sqlite3 from newest source (http://www.sqlite.org/download.html) Reinstalled sqlite3-ruby (sudo gem uninstall sqlite3-ruby && sudo gem install sqlite3-ruby) Used sqlite3 from macports (sudo port install sqlite3 && sudo gem install sqlite3-ruby) Reinstalled rails (sudo gem install rails sqlite3-ruby ) and updated environment.rb to rails 2.3.5.   Hi! I'm doing my VERY first project using python/django/eclipse/pydev following this guide http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/intro/tutorial01/ My only addition is the use of Eclipse/pydev. I'm getting many errors related to "Unresolved imports". I can remove the errors using "remove error markers" and my site runs perfect (I can browse it) but I want to get rid definitively of this problem since errors appear again after I removed them. Any ideas?
