  • Google App Engine - "Invalid sender format" when sending e-mail

    - by Taylor Leese
    I'm trying to send an e-mail using Google App Engine. I'm getting the exception below and I'm not sure why at the moment. Any ideas? javax.mail.SendFailedException: Send failure (javax.mail.MessagingException: Illegal Arguments (java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Bad Request: Invalid sender format)) at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:163) at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:48) at com.mystuff.service.mail.MailService.sendActivationEmail(MailService.java:145) Below is the code related to sending the e-mail. public final void sendActivationEmail(final UserAccount user) { final Properties props = new Properties(); final Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null); final Message message = new MimeMessage(session); final Multipart multipart = new MimeMultipart(); final MimeBodyPart htmlPart = new MimeBodyPart(); final MimeBodyPart textPart = new MimeBodyPart(); final Locale locale = LocaleContextHolder.getLocale(); try { message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(getFromAddress(), "Qoogeo")); message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, new InternetAddress(user.getUsername(), user.getFirstName() + " " + user.getLastName())); message.setSubject(messageSource.getMessage("mail.subject", null, locale)); textPart.setContent(messageSource.getMessage("mail.body.txt", new Object[] {getHostname(), user.getActivationKey()}, locale), "text/plain"); htmlPart.setContent(messageSource.getMessage("mail.body.html", new Object[] {getHostname(), user.getActivationKey()}, locale), "text/html"); multipart.addBodyPart(textPart); multipart.addBodyPart(htmlPart); message.setContent(multipart); Transport.send(message); } catch (MessagingException e) { LOGGER.warn(ERROR_MSG, e); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { LOGGER.warn(ERROR_MSG, e); } } Also, getFromAddress() returns "[email protected]".

  • Scalable / Parallel Large Graph Analysis Library?

    - by Joel Hoff
    I am looking for good recommendations for scalable and/or parallel large graph analysis libraries in various languages. The problems I am working on involve significant computational analysis of graphs/networks with 1-100 million nodes and 10 million to 1+ billion edges. The largest SMP computer I am using has 256 GB memory, but I also have access to an HPC cluster with 1000 cores, 2 TB aggregate memory, and MPI for communication. I am primarily looking for scalable, high-performance graph libraries that could be used in either single or multi-threaded scenarios, but parallel analysis libraries based on MPI or a similar protocol for communication and/or distributed memory are also of interest for high-end problems. Target programming languages include C++, C, Java, and Python. My research to-date has come up with the following possible solutions for these languages: C++ -- The most viable solutions appear to be the Boost Graph Library and Parallel Boost Graph Library. I have looked briefly at MTGL, but it is currently slanted more toward massively multithreaded hardware architectures like the Cray XMT. C - igraph and SNAP (Small-world Network Analysis and Partitioning); latter uses OpenMP for parallelism on SMP systems. Java - I have found no parallel libraries here yet, but JGraphT and perhaps JUNG are leading contenders in the non-parallel space. Python - igraph and NetworkX look like the most solid options, though neither is parallel. There used to be Python bindings for BGL, but these are now unsupported; last release in 2005 looks stale now. Other topics here on SO that I've looked at have discussed graph libraries in C++, Java, Python, and other languages. However, none of these topics focused significantly on scalability. Does anyone have recommendations they can offer based on experience with any of the above or other library packages when applied to large graph analysis problems? Performance, scalability, and code stability/maturity are my primary concerns. Most of the specialized algorithms will be developed by my team with the exception of any graph-oriented parallel communication or distributed memory frameworks (where the graph state is distributed across a cluster).

  • Matlab crashes on library initialize when called from Java

    - by David Sauter
    Hello everyone. The setup I have is I'm using a Java application to call native C-code with JNI, which in turn starts up the MATLAB runtime and calls functions on it (I know there are other solutions to call MATLAB methods from Java). The problem is that the MATLAB engine crashes at some point during the initialization and I don't know what's causing it exactly. The crash causes my jvm to terminate, I assume it's some kind of memory corruption. The C++ code calling MATLAB functions that is actually crashing is JNIEXPORT void JNICALL some_jni_vodoo_initializeLibrary(JNIEnv* env, jclass thisClass) { try { if (!mclInitializeApplication(NULL, 0)) { THROW_EXCEPTION(env, "Could not initialize the application properly."); return; } if (!<library>Initialize()) { THROW_EXCEPTION(env, "Could not initialize the library."); return; } } ... The function <library>Initialize() crashes here, the Java error log reads Stack Trace: [0] jmi.dll:0x793f4175(0x7934cdca, 1, 0x7937e67c "à;.y`[email protected] in C:\BUILD_ARE..", 0x792d6a32) [1] jvm.dll:0x792df9a5(0xc0000005, 0x79356791, 0x4961b400 "Ð\8y", 0x6d8b29de) [2] jvm.dll:0x792e0431(0x8b515008, 0x70f0e8ce, 0x8b5ffffa, 0xc25d5ec6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fatal Java Exception detected at Fri Apr 30 11:08:08 2010 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Configuration: MATLAB Version: 7.8.0.347 (R2009a) MATLAB License: unknown Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Window System: Version 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2) Processor ID: x86 Family 6 Model 10 Stepping 5, GenuineIntel Virtual Machine: Java is not enabled Default Encoding: windows-1252 Java is not enabled I really have no idea what could be wrong. Is there not enough memory from the jvm? I guess the problem is somehow related to Java, since calling the JNI functions from a simple test C++ program works fine... Thanks

  • Linq to NHibernate wrapper issue using where statement

    - by Jacob
    I'am using wrapper to get some data from table users IQueryable<StarGuestWrapper> WhereQuery = session.Linq<User>().Where(u => u.HomeClub.Id == clubId && u.IsActive).Select( u => new StarGuestWrapper() { FullName = u.Name + " " + u.LastName, LoginTime = DateTime.Now, MonthsAsMember = 2, StarRating = 1, UserPicture = u.Photo.PhotoData, InstructorFullName = "Someone Xyz", TalkInteractionDuringSession = true, GoalInteractionDuringSession = false }); I use this without a problem as a IQueryable so I can do useful things before actually running the query. Like : WhereQuery.Skip(startRowIndex).Take(maximumRows).ToList(); and so on. The problem occurs using 'where' statement on query. For example: WhereQuery.Where(s => s.StarRating == 1) will throw an exception in runtime that 'StarRating' doesn't exist in User table - of course it doesn't it's a wrappers property. I will work if I materialize query by WhereQuery.AsEnumerable().Where(s => s.StarRating == 1) but then it loses all the sens of using IQueryable and I don't want to do this. What is strange and interesting that not all properties from wrapper throw error, all the bool values can be used in where statement. Example : WhereQuery.Where(s => s.TalkInteractionDuringSession) It works in EntityFramework , why do I get this error in NHibernate and how to get it working the way I want it to ?

  • Is the load order for external javascript files different in IE8 compared to IE7?

    - by Benny
    Hello, I ask because I'm running an application in which I load an external script file in the HEAD section of the page, and then attempt to call a function from it in the onLoad section of the BODY tag. external.js function someFunction() { alert("Some message"); } myPage.html <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="external.js"></script> </head> <body onLoad="someFunction();"> </body> </html> Using the developer tools in IE8, I get an exception thrown at the onLoad statement because, apparently, the external javascript file hasn't been loaded yet. I haven't had this problem come up in IE7 before, thus my question. Did they change the load order between IE7 and IE8? If so, is there a better way to do this? (the real function references many other functions and constants, which look much better in an external file) Thanks, B.J.

  • Django Class Views and Reverse Urls

    - by kalhartt
    I have a good many class based views that use reverse(name, args) to find urls and pass this to templates. However, the problem is class based views must be instantiated before urlpatterns can be defined. This means the class is instantiated while urlpatterns is empty leading to reverse throwing errors. I've been working around this by passing lambda: reverse(name, args) to my templates but surely there is a better solution. As a simple example the following fails with exception: ImproperlyConfigured at xxxx The included urlconf mysite.urls doesn't have any patterns in it mysite.urls from mysite.views import MyClassView urlpatterns = patterns('', url(r'^$' MyClassView.as_view(), name='home') ) views.py class MyClassView(View): def get(self, request): home_url = reverse('home') return render_to_response('home.html', {'home_url':home_url}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) home.html <p><a href={{ home_url }}>Home</a></p> I'm currently working around the problem by forcing reverse to run on template rendering by changing views.py to class MyClassView(View): def get(self, request): home_url = lambda: reverse('home') return render_to_response('home.html', {'home_url':home_url}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) and it works, but this is really ugly and surely there is a better way. So is there a way to use reverse in class based views but avoid the cyclic dependency of urlpatterns requiring view requiring reverse requiring urlpatterns...

  • Spring-json problem in Liferay with Spring 2.5

    - by Jesus Benito
    Hi all, I am trying to use the library spring-json.1.3.1 in a project that has been done with Liferay 5.1.2 which includes Spring 2.5. Following the project website instructions, I managed to make the request hit in my controller, but at the moment of returning the json object back through the modelAndView object it fails with the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at com.liferay.portlet.MimeResponseImpl.setContentType(MimeResponseImpl.java:162) I have checked Liferays source code, and it checks that contentType that its being set is in a harcoded list,if it not it will throw a IllegalArgumentException that it is exactly what os happening. This is my view resolver code: <bean id="xmlFileViewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.XmlViewResolver"> /WEB-INF/context/views.xml 1 My views.xml code: <beans> <bean name="jsonView" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.json.JsonView"/> And my controller: @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") @Override public ModelAndView handleRenderRequest(RenderRequest arg0, RenderResponse arg1) throws Exception { Map model = new HashMap(); model.put("firstname", "Peter"); model.put("secondname", "Schmitt"); return new ModelAndView("jsonView", model); } Any ideas?

  • Inherited fluent nhibenate mapping issue

    - by Aim Kai
    I have an interesting issue today!! Basically I have two classes. public class A : B { public virtual new ISet<DifferentItem> Items {get;set;} } public class B { public virtual int Id {get;set;} public virtual ISet<Item> Items {get;set;} } The subclass A hides the base class B property, Items and replaces it with a new property with the same name and a different type. The mappings for these classes are public class AMapping : SubclassMap<A> { public AMapping() { HasMany(x=>x.Items) .LazyLoad() .AsSet(); } } public class BMapping : ClassMap<B> { public BMapping() { Id(x=>x.Id); HasMany(x=>x.Items) .LazyLoad() .AsSet(); } } However when I run my unit test to check the mapping I get the following exception: Tests the A mapping: NHibernate.PropertyAccessException : Invalid Cast (check your mapping for property type mismatches); setter of A ---- System.InvalidCastException : Unable to cast object of type 'NHibernate.Collection.Generic.PersistentGenericSet1[Item]' to type 'Iesi.Collections.Generic.ISet1[DifferentItem]'. Anyone have any ideas? Clearly it is something to do with the type of the collection on the sub-class. But I skimmed through the available options on the mapping class and nothing stood out as being the solution here.

  • GlassFish Security Realm, Active Directory and Referral

    - by Allan Lykke Christensen
    I've setup up a Security Realm in Glassfish to authenticate against an Active Directory server. The configuration of the realm is as follows: Class Name: com.sun.enterprise.security.auth.realm.ldap.LDAPRealm JAAS context: ldapRealm Directory: ldap://172.16.76.10:389/ Base DN: dc=smallbusiness,dc=local search-filter: (&(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=%s)) group-search-filter: (&(objectClass=group)(member=%d)) search-bind-dn: cN=Administrator,CN=Users,dc=smallbusiness,dc=local search-bind-password: abcd1234! The realm is functional and I can log-in, but when ever I log in I get the following error in the log: SEC1106: Error during LDAP search with filter [(&(objectClass=group)(member=CN=Administrator,CN=Users,dc=smallbusiness,dc=local))]. SEC1000: Caught exception. javax.naming.PartialResultException: Unprocessed Continuation Reference(s); remaining name 'dc=smallbusiness,dc=local' at com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtx.processReturnCode(LdapCtx.java:2820) .... .... ldaplm.searcherror While searching for a solution I found that it was recommended to add java.naming.referral=follow to the properties of the realm. However, after I add this it takes 20 minutes for GlassFish to authenticate against Active Directory. I suspect it is a DNS problem on the Active Directory server. The Active Directory server is a vanilla Windows Server 2003 setup in a Virtual Machine. Any help/recommendation is highly appreciated!

  • GWT dev mode throws ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException when compile GinjectorImpl.java

    - by Jiang Zhu
    I'm getting following exception when open my GWT app in development mode. the exact same code can compile successfully using mvn gwt:compile Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 3667 at com.google.gwt.dev.asm.ClassReader.readClass(ClassReader.java:1976) at com.google.gwt.dev.asm.ClassReader.accept(ClassReader.java:464) at com.google.gwt.dev.asm.ClassReader.accept(ClassReader.java:420) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.rewrite.HasAnnotation.hasAnnotation(HasAnnotation.java:45) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.CompilingClassLoader.findClass(CompilingClassLoader.java:1100) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.CompilingClassLoader.loadClass(CompilingClassLoader.java:1203) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:247) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.ModuleSpace.loadClassFromSourceName(ModuleSpace.java:665) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.ModuleSpace.rebindAndCreate(ModuleSpace.java:468) at com.google.gwt.dev.shell.GWTBridgeImpl.create(GWTBridgeImpl.java:49) at com.google.gwt.core.shared.GWT.create(GWT.java:57) at com.google.gwt.core.client.GWT.create(GWT.java:85) at ... I overdid ModuleSpace.java and printed out the class name at line 665 before Class.forName() which points out it is trying to load the generated GinjectorImpl.java I found out my generated GinjectorImpl.java is about 9MB and with 100K+ lines of code. When I randomly remove some modules from my GWT app it works again, so I'm guessing it is too large for ASM to compile. Any suggestions? • How to retain XML string as a string field during XML deserialization

    - by detale
    I got an XML input string and want to deserialize it to an object which partially retain the raw XML. <SetProfile> <sessionId>A81D83BC-09A0-4E32-B440-0000033D7AAD</sessionId> <profileDataXml> <ArrayOfProfileItem> <ProfileItem> <Name>Pulse</Name> <Value>80</Value> </ProfileItem> <ProfileItem> <Name>BloodPresure</Name> <Value>120</Value> </ProfileItem> </ArrayOfProfileItem> </profileDataXml> </SetProfile> The class definition: public class SetProfile { public Guid sessionId; public string profileDataXml; } I hope the deserialization syntax looks like string inputXML = "..."; // the above XML XmlSerializer xs = new XmlSerializer(typeof(SetProfile)); using (TextReader reader = new StringReader(inputXML)) { SetProfile obj = (SetProfile)xs.Deserialize(reader); // use obj .... } but XMLSerializer will throw an exception and won't output < profileDataXml 's descendants to "profileDataXml" field in raw XML string. Is there any way to implement the deserialization like that?

  • Left Join with a OneToOne field in Django

    - by jamida
    I have 2 tables, simpleDB_all and simpleDB_some. The "all" table has an entry for every item I want, while the "some" table has entries only for some items that need additional information. The Django models for these are: class all(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=40) important_info = models.CharField(max_length=40) class some(models.Model): all_key = models.OneToOneField(all) extra_info = models.CharField(max_length=40) I'd like to create a view that shows every item in "all" with the extra info if it exists in "some". Since I'm using a 1-1 field I can do this with almost complete success: allitems = all.objects.all() for item in allitems: print item.name, item.important_info, item.some.extra_info but when I get to the item that doesn't have a corresponding entry in the "some" table I get a DoesNotExist exception. Ideally I'd be doing this loop inside a template, so it's impossible to wrap it around a "try" clause. Any thoughts? I can get the desired effect directly in SQL using a query like this: SELECT all.name, all.important_info, some.extra_info FROM all LEFT JOIN some ON all.id = some.all_key_id; But I'd rather not use raw SQL.

  • Regex: markdown-style link matching

    - by The.Anti.9
    I want to parse markdown style links, but I'm having some trouble matching the reference style ones. Like this one: [id]: http://example.com/ "Optional Title Here" My regex gets the id and the url, but not the title. Heres what I have: /\[([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)\]: (\S+)\s?("".*?"")?/ I go through and add the references to a hashtable. the id as the key and the value is an instance of a class I made called LinkReference that just contains the url and the title. In case the problem is not my regex, and my code adding the matches to the hash table, Heres my code for that too: Regex rx = new Regex(@"\[([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)\]: (\S+)\s?("".*?"")?"); MatchCollection matches = rx.Matches(InputText); foreach (Match match in matches) { GroupCollection groups = match.Groups; string title = null; try { title = groups[3].Value; } catch (Exception) { // keep title null } LinkReferences.Add(groups[1].Value, new LinkReference(groups[2].Value, title)); }

  • Android customizing ViewFlipper...

    - by wearysamurai
    So I'm having pretty much exactly the problem described here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6191 and until the ViewFlipper issue in 2.1 and 2.2 has been resolved, I'm attempting to customize my own ViewFlipper in the manner described: @Override protected void onDetachedFromWindow() { try { super.onDetachedFromWindow(); } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) { // Call stopFlipping() in order to kick off updateRunning() stopFlipping(); } } But I've never done this sort of thing before and am hoping to get a little guidance (as my own efforts are coming up short). Here's what I have so far. FixedFlipper.java: import android.content.Context; import android.util.AttributeSet; import android.widget.ViewFlipper; public class FixedFlipper extends ViewFlipper{ public FixedFlipper(Context context){ super(context); } public FixedFlipper(Context context, AttributeSet attrs){ super(context, attrs); } @Override protected void onDetachedFromWindow(){ try{ super.onDetachedFromWindow(); }catch(Exception e){ super.stopFlipping(); } } } main.xml: <com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper style="@style/body" android:id="@+id/flipper"> ... </com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper> And in my activity, I invoke it like so: FixedFlipper flipper = (FixedFlipper)findViewById(R.id.flipper); It seems like it should be pretty straightforward, but I keep getting this: Binary XML file line #4: Error inflating class com.site.TestApp.FixedFlipper I appreciate any suggestions. I've been chasing my tail for hours trying to figure out what piece of the puzzle I'm missing.

  • In C# should I reuse a function / property parameter to compute temp result or create a temporary v

    - by Hamish Grubijan
    The example below may not be problematic as is, but it should be enough to illustrate a point. Imagine that there is a lot more work than trimming going on. public string Thingy { set { // I guess we can throw a null reference exception here on null. value = value.Trim(); // Well, imagine that there is so much processing to do this.thingy = value; // That this.thingy = value.Trim() would not fit on one line ... So, if the assignment has to take two lines, then I either have to abusereuse the parameter, or create a temporary variable. I am not a big fan of temporary variables. On the other hand, I am not a fan of convoluted code. I did not include an example where a function is involved, but I am sure you can imagine it. One concern I have is if a function accepted a string and the parameter was "abused", and then someone changed the signature to ref in both places - this ought to mess things up, but ... who would knowingly make such a change if it already worked without a ref? Seems like it is their responsibility in this case. If I mess with the value of value, am I doing something non-trivial under the hood? If you think that both approaches are acceptable, then which do you prefer and why? Thanks.

  • Serial Communication between Java RXTX and Arduino

    - by SharpBarb
    I'm trying to communicate between my PC (Windows 7 using Netbeans and RXTX) with an Arduino Pro, using the serial port. The Arduino is actually connected to the PC using an FTDI cable. The code is based on the Java SimpleRead.Java found here. Currently the Arduino simply prints out a string when it starts up. My Java program should print the number of bytes that have been read and then print out the contents. The Java program works, sort of... If the string is long (10 bytes or so) the output will get broken up. So if on the Arduino I print Serial.println("123456789123456789"); //20 bytes including '\r' and '\n' The output of my Java program may look something like: Number of Bytes: 15 1234567891234 Number of Bytes: 5 56789 or Number of Bytes: 12 1234567891 Number of Bytes: 8 23456789 I'm thinking it's a timing problem, because when I manually go through the code using the debugger, the result string is always what it should be: one 20 byte string. I've been messing with various things but I haven't been able to fix the problem. Here is the part of the code that is giving me problems: static int baudrate = 9600, dataBits = SerialPort.DATABITS_8, stopBits = SerialPort.STOPBITS_1, parity = SerialPort.PARITY_NONE; byte[] readBuffer = new byte[128]; ... ... public void serialEvent(SerialPortEvent event) { if (event.getEventType() == SerialPortEvent.DATA_AVAILABLE) { try { if (input.available() > 0) { //Read the InputStream and return the number of bytes read numBytes = input.read(readBuffer); String result = new String(readBuffer,0,numBytes); System.out.println("Number of Bytes: " + numBytes); System.out.println(result); } } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("Data Available Exception"); } }

  • Missing line number in stack trace eventhough the PDB files are included

    - by Farzad
    This is running me nuts. I have this web service implemented w/ C# using VS 2008. I publish it on IIS. I have modified the release build so the pdb files are copied along with the dlls into the target directory on inetpub. Also web.config file has debug=true. Then I call a web service that throws an exception. The stack trace does not contain the line numbers. I have no idea what I am missing here, any ideas? Additional Info: If I run the web app using VS built-in web server, it works and I get line numbers in stack trace. But if I copy the same files (pdb and dll) that the VS built-in web server is using to IIS, still the line numbers are missing in stack trace. It seems that there is something related to the IIS that ignores the pdb files! Update When I publish to IIS, all the pdb files are published under the bin directory and everything looks fine. But when I go to "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files" under the specific directory related to my project, I can see that the assembly (.dll) files are all there, but there is no pdb files. But this does not happen if I run the project using VS built-in web server. So if I copy the pdb files manually to the temp folder, I can see the line numbers. Any idea why the pdb files are not copied to the temp folder? BTW, when I attach to the worker process I can see that it says Symbols loaded!

  • WCF InProcFactory error

    - by Terence Lewis
    I'm using IDesign's ServiceModelEx assembly to provide additional functionality over and above what's available in standard WCF. In particular I'm making use of InProcFactory to host some WCF services within my process using Named Pipes. However, my process also declares a TCP endpoint in its configuration file, which I host and open when the process starts. At some later point, when I try to host a second instance of this service using the InProcFactory through the named pipe (from a different service in the same process), for some reason it picks up the TCP endpoint in the configuration file and tries to re-host this endpoint, which throws an exception as the TCP port is already in use from the first hosting. Here is the relevant code from InProcFactory.cs in ServiceModelEx: static HostRecord GetHostRecord<S,I>() where I : class where S : class,I { HostRecord hostRecord; if(m_Hosts.ContainsKey(typeof(S))) { hostRecord = m_Hosts[typeof(S)]; } else { ServiceHost<S> host; if(m_Singletons.ContainsKey(typeof(S))) { S singleton = m_Singletons[typeof(S)] as S; Debug.Assert(singleton != null); host = new ServiceHost<S>(singleton,BaseAddress); } else { host = new ServiceHost<S>(BaseAddress); } string address = BaseAddress.ToString() + Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); hostRecord = new HostRecord(host,address); m_Hosts.Add(typeof(S),hostRecord); host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(I),Binding,address); if(m_Throttles.ContainsKey(typeof(S))) { host.SetThrottle(m_Throttles[typeof(S)]); } // This line fails because it tries to open two endpoints, instead of just the named-pipe one host.Open(); } return hostRecord; }

  • objc_exception_throw When Returning NSManagedObject

    - by spamguy
    I have a method dedicated to finding an NSManagedObject ('company') using a supplied NSString and, if it's not found, creating a new one and returning it. As far as I know it's fully inited and the method works perfectly. That is, until the line after the return statement, when the app crashes with an objc_exception_throw. I googled this and couldn't find what causes it, only how to use it in breakpoint debugging. What's wrong with this method, and why is it throwing specifically this exception? - (NSManagedObject*) getCompanyObject:(NSString*)theCompany { NSError *error = nil; NSManagedObjectContext *moc = [[self delegate] managedObjectContext]; NSFetchRequest *fetch = [[[NSFetchRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; NSEntityDescription *entityDescription = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Company" inManagedObjectContext:moc]; [fetch setEntity:entityDescription]; // object to be returned NSManagedObject *companyObject = [[NSManagedObject alloc] initWithEntity:entityDescription insertIntoManagedObjectContext:moc]; // set predicate (company name) NSPredicate *pred = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"name = \"%@\"", theCompany]]; [fetch setPredicate:pred]; NSArray *response = [moc executeFetchRequest:fetch error:&error]; if ([response count] == 0) // empty resultset --> no companies with this name { [companyObject setValue:theCompany forKey:@"name"]; NSLog(@"%@ not found. Adding.", theCompany); } else [companyObject setValue:[[response objectAtIndex:0] valueForKey:@"name"]]; return companyObject; }

  • clientaccesspolicy.xml not being requested via HTTPS

    - by Philip
    I have a silverlight app that has been using http to communicate w/self-hosted WCF services during development. I am now securing the services via https. I am getting an error I had back at the beginning of the project: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'https://localhost:8303/service'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details." My clientaccesspolicy.xml file is setup to allow access from http://* and https://*. The only difference is using http vs https. The issue is I can usually see (via Fiddler) the clientaccesspolicy.xml file being requested, but now I cannot. I'm assuming it is failing because of this. Any ideas?

  • Error when creating JFrame from JFrame

    - by Aly
    Hi, I have an application that is works fine and the JFrame for it is launched in the constructor of a GameInitializer class which takes in some config parameters. I have tried to create a GUI in which allows the user to specify these config parameters and then click submit. When the user clicks submit a new GameInitializer object is created. The error I am getting is: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.Error: Cannot call invokeAndWait from the event dispatcher thread at java.awt.EventQueue.invokeAndWait(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(Unknown Source) at game.player.humanplayer.view.HumanView.update(HumanView.java:43) once submit is called this code is executed: values assigned to parames... new GameInitializer(userName, player, Constants.BLIND_STRUCTURE_FILES.get(blindStructure), handState); Then code in the GameInitializer constructor is: public GameInitializer(String playerName, AbstractPlayer opponent, String blindStructureConfig, AbstractHandState handState){ beginGame(playerName, opponent, blindStructureConfig, handState); } public static void beginGame(String playerName, AbstractPlayer opponent, String blindStructureConfig, AbstractHandState handState){ AbstractDealer dealer; BlindStructure.initialize(blindStructureConfig); AbstractPlayer humanPlayer = new HumanPlayer(playerName, handState); AbstractPlayer[] players = new AbstractPlayer[2]; players[0] = humanPlayer; players[1] = opponent; handState.setTableLayout(players); for(AbstractPlayer player : players){ player.initialize(); } dealer = new Dealer(players, handState); dealer.beginGame(); } It basically cascades down and eventually calls this piece of code in the HumanView class: public void update(final Event event, final ReadableHandState handState, final AbstractPlayer player) { try { SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() { public void run() { gamePanel.update(event, handState, player); validate(); } }); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (InvocationTargetException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } if(event.equals(Event.HAND_ENDING)){ try { if(handState.wonByShowdown() || handState.isSplitPot()){ Thread.sleep(3500); } else{ Thread.sleep(1000); } } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } Do you have any idea why?

  • Passing object(s) to a Controller Action

    - by Nicholas H
    I'm attempting to use jQuery to do a $.post() to an MVC controller action. Here's the jQuery calls: var _authTicket = { username: 'testingu', password: 'testingp' }; function DoPost() { var inputObj = { authTicket: _authTicket, dateRange: 'ThisWeek' }; $.post('/MyController/MyAction', inputObj, PostResult); } function PostResult(data) { alert(JSON.stringify(data)); } Here's the controller action: <HttpPost()> _ Function MyAction(ByVal authTicket As AuthTicket, ByVal dateRange As String) As ActionResult Dim u = ValidateUser(authTicket) If u Is Nothing Then Throw New Exception("User not valid") ' etc.. End Function The problem is, MyAction's "authTicket" parameter is all empty. The second "dateRange" parameter gets populated just fine. I'm pretty sure that the issue stems from jQuery turning the data into key/value pairs to POST to the action. MVC must not understand the format, at least when it's an object with it's own properties. The name/value pair format that jQuery is converting to is like: authTicket[username] = "testingu" authTicket[password] = "testingp" Which in turn gets made into x-www-form-urlencoded'd data: authTicket%5Busername%5D=testingu &authTicket%5Bpassword%5D=testingp I guess I could always have "username" and "password" properties in my actions, but that seems wrong to me. Any help would be appreciated.
