  Dear community, I hope the below task will be very easy for sed lovers. I am not sed-guru, but I need to express the following task in sed, as sed is more popular on Linux systems. The input text stream is something which is produced by "make depends" and looks like following: pgm2asc.o: pgm2asc.c ../include/config.h amiga.h list.h pgm2asc.h pnm.h \ output.h gocr.h unicode.h ocr1.h ocr0.h otsu.h barcode.h progress.h box.o: box.c gocr.h pnm.h ../include/config.h unicode.h list.h pgm2asc.h \ output.h database.o: database.c gocr.h pnm.h ../include/config.h unicode.h list.h \ pgm2asc.h output.h detect.o: detect.c pgm2asc.h pnm.h ../include/config.h output.h gocr.h \ unicode.h list.h I need to catch only C++ header files (i.e. ending with .h), make the list unique and print as space-separated list prepending src/ as a path-prefix. • Can I strictly evaluate a boolean expression stored as a string in Java?

  I would like to be able to evaluate an boolean expression stored as a string, like the following: "hello" == "goodbye" && 100 < 101 I know that there are tons of questions like this on SO already, but I'm asking this one because I've tried the most common answer to this question, BeanShell, and it allows for the evaluation of statements like this one "hello" == 100 with no trouble at all. Does anyone know of a FOSS parser that throws errors for things like operand mismatch? Or is there a setting in BeanShell that will help me out? I've already tried Interpreter.setStrictJava(true).   Forward: I've scanned through the existing questions/answers on this matter. This is not a duplicitous question; I cannot find a working solution from the accepted answers. What I need: A calucalation of the difference between two dates expressed as years, months and days that works with PHP version: 5.2. <?php $current_date = date('d-M-Y'); $future_date = '2012-11-01'; ?> What I've tried: Most answers I find online don't seem to exact in that they don't factor in leap years. This highly rated answer won't work because DateTime-diff() is php 5.3+. This accepted answer results in (i.e. the second block of code aimed at PHP 5.2) results in the following being parsed: Array ( [y] = 25 [m] = 11 [d] = 7 [h] = 3 [i] = 15 [s] = 19 [invert] = 0 [days] = 9473 ) Array ( [y] = 25 [m] = 11 [d] = 7 [h] = 3 [i] = 15 [s] = 19 [invert] = 1 [days] = 9473 ) I can't tell if I've incorrectly applied the code or it's simply a case of me not knowing how to manipulate the array.

• How do i prevent my code from being stolen?

  What happens exactly when I launch a .NET exe? I know that C# is compiled to IL code and I think the generated exe file just a launcher that starts the runtime and passes the IL code to it. But how? And how complex process is it? IL code is embedded in the exe. I think it can be executed from the memory without writing it to the disk while ordinary exe's are not (ok, yes but it is very complicated). My final aim is extracting the IL code and write my own encrypted launcher to prevent scriptkiddies to open my code in Reflector and just steal all my classes easily. Well I can't prevent reverse engineering completely. If they are able to inspect the memory and catch the moment when I'm passing the pure IL to the runtime then it won't matter if it is a .net exe or not, is it? I know there are several obfuscator tools but I don't want to mess up the IL code itself. EDIT: so it seems it isn't worth trying what I wanted. They will crack it anyway... So I will look for an obfuscation tool. And yes my friends said too that it is enough to rename all symbols to a meaningless name. And reverse engineering won't be so easy after all.

The code works fine but when I access the server via browser, the image is not displayed. The html of the page is as intended though. The permissions on the files are 755. Also I tried to create an index.html file in the do_GET method. That didn't work either. I mean the index.html was generated fine, but the response in the browser this time did not show anything (not even the hello world in the title). Am I missing anything very simple here? I was thinking should I overload the handle_request of the underlying SocketServer.BaseServer as the documentation says you should never override BaseHTTPServer's handle() method and should rather override the corresponding do_* method?

• using threads in menu options

  I have an app that has a console menu with 2/3 selections. One process involves uploading a file and performing a lengthy search process on its contents, whilst another process involves SQL queries and is an interactive process with the user. I wish to use threads to allow one process to run and the menu to offer the option for the second process to run. However you cannot run the first process twice. I have created threads and corrected some compilation errors but the threading options are not working correctly. Any help appreciated. main... • Using delegate Types vs methods

  I see increasing use of the delegate types offered in the System namespace (Action; Predicate etc). As these are delegates, my understanding is that they should be used where we have traditionally used delegates in the past (asynchronous calls; starting threads, event handling etc). • All connections in pool are in use

  We currently have a little situation on our hands - it seems that someone, somewhere forgot to close the connection in code. Result is that the pool of connections is relatively quickly exhausted. As a temporary patch we added Max Pool Size = 500; to our connection string on web service, and recycle pool when all connections are spent, until we figure this out. So far we have done this: SELECT SPId FROM MASTER..SysProcesses WHERE DBId = DB_ID('MyDb') and last_batch < DATEADD(MINUTE, -15, GETDATE()) to get SPID's that aren't used for 15 minutes. We're now trying to get the query that was executed last using that SPID with: DBCC INPUTBUFFER(61) but the queries displayed are various, meaning either something on base level regarding connection manipulation was broken, or our deduction is erroneous... Is there an error in our thinking here? Does the DBCC / sysprocesses give results we're expecting or is there some side-effect catch? (for example, connections in pool influence?) (please, stick to what we could find out using SQL since the guys that did the code are many and not all present right now)

On the emulator (AVD 2.2) it works fine, but on my Android 2.2 device the method sendMessage is not called at all. • drop down menu will not display outside containing div in IE7..

  I am tearing my hair out over this, I have a dropdown menu using CSS and jQuery (thanks to Soh Tanaka) and it works perfectly in Firefox, Safari, Google chrome and I.E. 8, but in IE 7 it will not drop down outside the 'Banner div'. It drops below the nav div however. I have moved the nav div higher in the banner the result is the same, menu drops until it reaches the border of the banner div and then vanishes.... Below is the css. This is my first website and I have some limited understanding of what I am doing. The drop down menu includes transparent png's as links (I know, I know...but it's what the Boss wants...) please could someone take a quick scan at the below CSS and let me know what is wroong? Is this some form of the IE z-index bug? i have tried all different combinations of z-index and still I can't get a different result. . The html is below as well. • Service Layer are repeating my Repositories

  Hi all, I'm developing an application using asp.net mvc, NHibernate and DDD. I have a service layer that are used by controllers of my application. Everything are using Unity to inject dependencies (ISessionFactory in repositories, repositories in services and services in controllers) and works fine. But, it's very common I need a method in service to get only object in my repository, like this (in service class): public class ProductService { private readonly IUnitOfWork _uow; private readonly IProductRepository _productRepository; public ProductService(IUnitOfWork unitOfWork, IProductRepository productRepository) { this._uow = unitOfWork; this._productRepository = productRepository; } /* this method should be exists in DDD ???   In my project, I am trying to open a text file. Well the below code works but when the user click the button again and again, many files are being opened. (which I dont want) System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(filePath); I also tried Link , File.Open and File.OpenText which are not opening the text file and also not showing any error (tried with try catch block) File.Open(filePath); (or) File.OpenText(filePath); (or) FileStream fileStream = new FileStream(filePath, FileMode.Open); I also tried this: (ERROR : Cannot be accessed with instance reference qualify with a type name instead) System.Diagnostics.Process proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); proc.Start(filePath); /*red scribbles here*/ proc.WaitForExit(); How to show only one instance of the Text file(.txt). am I doing something wrong in my attempts? please suggest. EDIT: I want to open other text files afterwards but not the same and also the application should be accessible after opening a text file(or many). I have only one form.

• IIS7.5 and MVC 2 : Implementing HTTP(S) security

  This is my first ASP.NET MVC application, and my first on an IIS 7.x installation whereby I have to do anything over and above the standard. I need to enforce Windows authentication on the /Index and /feeds/xxx.svc pages/services. In ASP.NET Web Forms, I would apply the Windows permissions on the files and remove Anonymous authentication in IIS 6. This needs to work over HTTP/S, but don't worry about that, that's in hand. What happens in MVC/IIS 7? I have tried modifying the permissions on the /Index.aspx view, which seems to block access. It asks me for a username/password, but does not grant access when I enter a valid username/password. Pressing Escape gives me an exception "*Access to the path 'E:\dev\xxx\xxx.ConsultantRegistration.Web.Admin\Views\ConsultantRegistration\index.aspx' is denied. *", which does get sent as a 401. So although the username/password does exist on the Index.aspx view, I can't use those credentials to access said view. I have in my web.config: What am I missing?

• Android: Scheduling application to start with repeating alarms not working

  I get my Broadcast receiver to set a recurring alarm, to fire up a service. Unfortunately this does not result in the service being called repeatedly (based on logcat). I've experimented with different values for the time interval too. Can someone help? • Asynchronous Controller is blocking requests in ASP.NET MVC through jQuery

  I have just started using the AsyncController in my project to take care of some long-running reports. Seemed ideal at the time since I could kick off the report and then perform a few other actions while waiting for it to come back and populate elements on the screen. My controller looks a bit like this. I tried to use a thread to perform the long task which I'd hoped would free up the controller to take more requests: public class ReportsController : AsyncController { public void LongRunningActionAsync() { AsyncManager.OutstandingOperations.Increment(); var newThread = new Thread(LongTask); newThread.Start(); } private void LongTask() { // Do something that takes a really long time //....... AsyncManager.OutstandingOperations.Decrement(); } public ActionResult LongRunningActionCompleted(string message) { // Set some data up on the view or something... return View(); } public JsonResult AnotherControllerAction() { // Do a quick task... return Json("..."); } } But what I am finding is that when I call LongRunningAction using the jQuery ajax request, any further requests I make after that back up behind it and are not processed until LongRunningAction completes. For example, call LongRunningAction which takes 10 seconds and then call AnotherControllerAction which is less than a second. AnotherControllerAction simply waits until LongRunningAction completes before returning a result. I've also checked the jQuery code, but this still happens if I specifically set "async: true": $.ajax({ async: true, type: "POST", url: "/Reports.aspx/LongRunningAction", dataType: "html", success: function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest) { // ... }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { // ... } }); At the moment I just have to assume that I'm using it incorrectly, but I'm hoping one of you guys can clear my mental block!
