  • Exploring MDS Explorer by Mark Nelson

    Recently, I posted about my colleague Olivier’s MDS Explorer tool, which is a great way to get a look inside your MDS repository. I have been playing around with it a little bit, nothing much really, just some cosmetic stuff, but you might like to take a look at it. I made it format the documents nicely with proper indentation, and with line numbers and a nicer editor. It also will warn you if you are about to open a large document so that you know it has not crashed, but that you just have to be patient. And I added some icons and stuff.     Had a very bizarre situation yesterday where a local machine account couldn’t access SQL Server and was getting Login failed for user <user>. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: <client ip>] along with Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11.     In this blog, I plan to provide you with information about OWSM, Oracle Web services Manager.  I joined Platform Security and OWSM team in Oracle's identity management organization in February, 2010. Before that I had been working on Metro, an open source Web services project,  in Sun's Glassfish organization for 5 years, as one of the architects for security. I am continuing that work here at Oracle OWSM, focusing on developing and evangelizing our enterprise Web services security,  identity and policy management offerings.To start with, I plan to write a series of posts on some of the new features for OWSM in Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1 PS3.Thank you all for your interests.

The video centres around a Retail Leasing use case, and follows how Joakim the Business Analyst, Pablo the Process Owner, and James the Process Analyst take the process from conception to runtime, solely through BPM Composer, without the need for IT or the use of JDeveloper.   • Why ADF Developers Should Attend ODTUG This Year

    If you are using Oracle ADF or planning to pick it up in the next year, I would encourage you to try and attend this year's ODTUG K-Scope conference. If you are not familiar with it, ODTUG - the Oracle Development Tools User Groups - holds a yearly conference that is very technical in nature. It is not a huge conference in terms of the number of attendees, but this just means that you have more opportunities to interact with Oracle ACEs, Oracle Product Managers, and other developers. The conference is known to be a no-fluff, no-marketing, technical conference. This year however there is one key new thing that should be of interest to readers of this blog. A new track called the "Fusion Middleware" track has been formed and it has lots of sessions for any level of ADF developer. The track is run by several Oracle ACEs who are also involved in the ADF Enterprise Methodology Group. They have sessions for every level of ADF awareness - from the beginner to the expert, and you can also learn about related technologies such as WebCenter and SOA Suite. Most of the sessions are run by users who share their real world experience with the technology. And me and other PMs will also be running a few sessions and hands-on labs there.
