  • YQL How to use wildcard in XPath

    - by uku
Hello, I have a malformed page to scrape, and have had a hard time getting the correct XPath for YQL. I can scrape individual fields that I need using, for example: //*[@id="cell_12345"] But what I really need to do is return all elements who's ID begins with cell_. Something like: //*[@id="cell_"*] How do I do this? Also, if anybody can point me to a good XPath reference it would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Message Queue with 'Message Barrier' Feature?

    - by Lajos Nagy
Is there a message queue implementation that allows breaking up work into 'batches' by inserting 'message barriers' into the message stream? Let me clarify. No messages after a message barrier should be delivered to any consumers of the queue, until all messages before the barrier are consumed. Sort of like a synchronization point. I'd also prefer if all consumers received notification when they reached a barrier. Anything like this out there?

  • OS X terminal command to resolve path of an alias

    - by Josh
I'm writing a shell script which will rsync files from remote machines, some linux, some macs, to a central backup server. The macs have folders on the root level containing aliases of all files/folders which need to be backed up. What is a terminal command I can use to resolve the path to the files/folders the aliases point to? (I'll need to pass these paths to rsync)

  • What is a great tool for remote pair development?

    - by Haim Bender
I'm looking for something like VNC, but with some extra features: The server should send only the part of the screen the client is looking at. It would be great if we could have 2 mice on the client's desktop. Or at least if the client could point to somthing without interrupting the server's mouse. A shared whiteboard would be great. Some extra notes: My friend lives far away, and we are using WinXP.

  • Properly Establishing an ApplicationEndpoint in UCMA 3.0

    - by user570720
I've been struggling with getting an application endpoint working on UCMA 3.0. I am trying to run an application on a server separate from the Lync server which uses a registered ApplicationEndpoint to monitor presence and act as a bot which can send other users messages. I used to have my code working with a UserEndpoint (which was fine for monitoring presence), but did not have the capabilities to send IMs to other Lync users. After searching the web, I'm finally at the point where I'm getting this error when running my code: System.ArgumentException was unhandled Message=An ApplicationEndpoint can be registered only if proxy and Multual Tls have been specified. Source=Microsoft.Rtc.Collaboration StackTrace: at Microsoft.Rtc.Collaboration.ApplicationEndpoint..ctor(CollaborationPlatform platform, ApplicationEndpointSettings settings) at Waldo.endpointHelper.CreateApplicationEndpoint(ApplicationEndpointSettings applicationEndpointSettings) in C:\Users\l1m5\Desktop\waldoproject\trunk\WaldoSoln\waldoGrabPresence\endpointHelper.cs:line 117 at Waldo.endpointHelper.CreateEstablishedApplicationEndpoint(String endpointFriendlyName) in C:\Users\l1m5\Desktop\waldoproject\trunk\WaldoSoln\waldoGrabPresence\endpointHelper.cs:line 228 at Waldo.waldoGrabPresence.Run() in C:\Users\l1m5\Desktop\waldoproject\trunk\WaldoSoln\waldoGrabPresence\waldoGrabPresence.cs:line 60 at Waldo.waldoGrabPresence.Main(String[] args) in C:\Users\l1m5\Desktop\waldoproject\trunk\WaldoSoln\waldoGrabPresence\waldoGrabPresence.cs:line 42 at System.AppDomain._nExecuteAssembly(Assembly assembly, String[] args) at System.AppDomain.ExecuteAssembly(String assemblyFile, Evidence assemblySecurity, String[] args) at Microsoft.VisualStudio.HostingProcess.HostProc.RunUsersAssembly() at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart() InnerException: After some searching, I followed the instructions here: http://blogs.claritycon.com/blogs/michael_greenlee/archive/2009/03/21/installing-a-certificate-for-ucma-v2-0-applications.aspx to import a certificate onto the server that I'm trying to run the application on, but to no avail. So at this point, I think that there must be something wrong with how I'm setting up the ApplicationEndpointSettings, CollaberationPlatform or ApplicationEndpoint objects. Here's how I'm doing it: ApplicationEndpointSettings settings = new ApplicationEndpointSettings(_ownerURIPrompt, _serverFQDNPrompt, _trustedPortPrompt); ServerPlatformSettings settings = new ServerPlatformSettings(null, _serverFQDNPrompt, _trustedPortPrompt, _trustedApplicationGRUU); _collabPlatform = new CollaborationPlatform(settings); _applicationEndpoint = new ApplicationEndpoint(_collabPlatform, applicationEndpointSettings); Does anyone see any problems with what I'm doing? Or, better yet, does anyone know of a blog that walks you through establishing an application endpoint in the situation I'm in? I work really well with tutorials or samples, but have not found one that seems to accomplish what I'm trying to do. Thanks for the help!

  • Sparx Enterprise Architect for SQL Server modeling?

    - by Tone
I have used MS SQL Server Management Studio for most of my database modeling to this point in my career. I am a database developer (not a DBA), but interested in the benefits with using Sparx systems Enterprise Architect for data modeling. I do not have the need to generate scripts for different databases, other than that what does using Sparx EA buy me that SQL Management Studio does not?

  • thinking about moving to Trac

    - by Martin
We're starting development and are at a point where we need a bug tracking site. Our code is in SVN and we're thinking of using Bugzilla, but setup is tricky. I'm considering going for Trac instead. From what I understand, Trac would need to be on the same machine as SVN. I'm really having a hard time parsing through the Trac documentation. What kind of things should I look for when I'll be migrating?

  • Which third party tools/library are available for NoSQL databases?

    - by Horcrux7
I know that NoSQL databases are very new. I am also new in this point. But exist already tools/libraries to make the life easer like for SQL databases? I think on tools for managing, maintaining, viewing or reporting of the data. There can also be libraries for easer working with the database or an abstract database layer to change the database later. I would prefer Java libraries but also other are interesting.

  • What's the right way to display a DBIx::Class ResultSet in my Catalyst project that uses Template To

    - by Thelema
Given a DBIx::Class resultset, for example: my $rs = $c->model("DB::Card")->search({family_name => "Smith"}); the tutorials I've read use the stash to pass an arrayref of rows: $c->stash->{cards} = [$rs->all]; This results in the query getting executed at this point, and the resulting objects stuffed into the stash, so they can be used in TemplateToolkit as: [% FOREACH card IN cards %] [% card.given_name %] [% card.family_name %] [%END%] Is there a proper way to have TT iterate over the rows as they get fetched from the DB?

  • Learning to write organized and modular programs

    - by Peter
I'm a computer science student, and I'm just starting to write relatively larger programs for my coursework (between 750 - 1500 lines). Up until now, it's been possible to get by with any reasonable level of modularization and object oriented design. However, now that I'm writing more complex code for my assignments I'd like to learn to write better code. Can anyone point me in the direction of some resources for learning about what sort of things to look for when designing your program's architecture so that you can make it as modularized as possible?

  • python multithreading for dummies

    - by albruno
trying to find a simple example that clearly shows a single task being divided for multi-threading. Quite frankly... many of the examples are overly sophisticated thus.... making the flow tougher to play with... anyone care to share their breakthrough sample or point to an example? As well, what is the best docs? many google lookups are too specific (for me at this stage) Thanks in advance.

  • Y-value on bar graph in gnuplot?

    - by mary
Can I get gnuplot to display the exact y-value or height of a data point (plotted using "with boxes") over its bar? I would like the plot to be easy to read so nobody has to line up the top of a bar with the y-axis and guess what the value is.

  • Django - calling full_clean() inside of clean() equivalent?

    - by orokusaki
For transaction purposes, I need all field validations to run before clean() is done. Is this possible? My thinking is this: @transaction.commit_on_success def clean(self): # Some fun stuff here. self.full_clean() # I know this isn't correct, but it illustrates my point. but obviously that's not correct, because it would be recursive. Is there a way to make sure that everything that full_clean() does is done inside clean()?

  • How can you replace a link's target in Greasemonkey?

    - by Derek
I'm trying to write a script in Greasemonkey that will replace a link's target with something else, but with my limited Javascript knowledge I don't really know how to do this. Basically I'm trying to find all links containing a certain string of characters (ex: //a[contains(@href, 'xx')] ), and either replace them with another link, or append something to them (replacing 'abc123.com' with 'zyx987.com' or 'abc123.com' with 'abc123.com/folder'). If you could point me on the right path I'd greatly appreciate it.
