  • Decide which caching startegy to use ?

    Hi all, I want to cache my loaded data so that I can reduce my application start time . I know several strategies to store application data i.e. core data, nsuserdefaults , archiving . Now my scenario is that suppose that I have array of maximum 10 objects each object having 5 fields . So I can not decide which strategy to store this array an later retrieving the same . Thanks .

Must haves: Recursive FTP backups Possible to run through a cron job Easy to configure (easy adding of multiple sites) Local storage of backup files is sufficient Would be nice: Backed up sites are stored as zip files A nice interface to manage things Provides notification when backup has succeeded or failed Does incremental backups Does MySQL Database backups I need this to be PHP (or Perl) based because it's going to be used on shared hosting packages that do not allow usage of the standard GNU/Linux tools available.

  • PHP object exchange between servers

    I got script what read from database and manipulate it so on the end I got $result array... on one server is it possible to serialize this object and pass it to other script so this $result array could be available for other script on second server... I got on first server: return serialize ( $results ); and on second: $data = unserialize ( file_get_contents ( 'http://www.......com/reader.php' ) ); ...but there is no communication between ....     Can I assert rails/sinatra apps are initialized only once and all requests share the same app instance? or do new requests spawn new app instances? Is it possible to instance custom classes and persist them during app lifetime without using sessions, database storages or third party services? If so, what are the implications from a thread-safeness point of view? I'm trying to figure how to implement a web-based download manager and I'm currently evaluating ruby-based frameworks.

    At work we are inte process of starting development on a new web-based product. Before doing so we need to establish what technology stack we are going to use. For this application my preference would have been to use Django but since the development- and management-team is soo heavily rooted with Microsoft the new product will have to be based on Microsoft technologies. So my question is, what setup, with Microsoft technologies, would most resemble a django setup with its MVT-design?

    I find myself doing the following or similar quite often: Request::instance()->redirect(Route::get('route')->uri(array('action' => 'action'))); Or: Request::instance()->redirect(Route::get(Route::name(Request::instance()->route))->uri(array('action' => 'action'))); I'm wondering if there's any short, easier, simpler way of doing this. I love the Route functionality, but it makes for some long lines of PHP.
