  • iOs receivedData from NSURLConnection is nil

    - by yhl
    I was wondering if anyone could point out why I'm not able to capture a web reply. My NSLog shows that my [NSMutableData receivedData] has a length of 0 the entire run of the connection. The script that I hit when I click my login button returns a string. My NSLog result is pasted below, and after that I've pasted both the .h and .m files that I have. NSLog Result 2012-11-28 23:35:22.083 [12548:c07] Clicked on button_login 2012-11-28 23:35:22.090 [12548:c07] theConnection is succesful 2012-11-28 23:35:22.289 [12548:c07] didReceiveResponse 2012-11-28 23:35:22.290 [12548:c07] didReceiveData 2012-11-28 23:35:22.290 [12548:c07] 0 2012-11-28 23:35:22.290 [12548:c07] connectionDidFinishLoading 2012-11-28 23:35:22.290 [12548:c07] 0 ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ViewController : UIViewController // Create an Action for the button. - (IBAction)button_login:(id)sender; // Add property declaration. @property (nonatomic,assign) NSMutableData *receivedData; @end ViewController.m #import ViewController.h @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize receivedData; - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response { NSLog(@"didReceiveResponse"); [receivedData setLength:0]; } - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { NSLog(@"didReceiveData"); [receivedData appendData:data]; NSLog(@"%d",[receivedData length]); } - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { NSLog(@"connectionDidFinishLoading"); NSLog(@"%d",[receivedData length]); } - (IBAction)button_login:(id)sender { NSLog(@"Clicked on button_login"); NSString *loginScriptURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://www.website.com/app/scripts/login.php?"]; NSMutableURLRequest *theRequest = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:loginScriptURL]]; NSString *postString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"&paramUsername=user&paramPassword=pass"]; NSData *postData = [postString dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES]; [theRequest setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [theRequest setHTTPBody:postData]; // Create the actual connection using the request. • Subdomain Routing Rules (using chaining) Broke after upgrading to Zend Framework 1.9.5, but only for

    - by Dan
I asked a similar question months ago (see How do I write Routing Chains for a Subdomain in Zend Framework in a routing INI file?), on how to write chaining rules in an app.ini format. The answer to this question worked wonderfully! Now, however, I have upgraded to the latest version of the Zend Framework 1.9.5 (I needed to upgrade for another issue) and now my subdomains no longer work! To clarify, if I visit subdomain.domain.com, it does not recognize my rule. However, if I visit subdomain.domain.com/somepage/ it does recognize my routing rule. Here is my code: ;; the following is apparently being ignored, and does not work routes.manager.type = "Zend_Controller_Router_Route_Hostname" routes.manager.route = "manager.sitename.com" routes.manager.defaults.module = "manager" ;; this is not being ignored and works! routes.manager.chains.settings.type = "Zend_Controller_Router_Route_Static" routes.manager.chains.settings.route = "/settings" routes.manager.chains.settings.defaults.controller = "manager" routes.manager.chains.settings.defaults.action = "settings" So for example, if I go to manager.sitename.com, it just redirects to my default index and controller (does not access the module, $this-getRequest()-getModuleName() is blank). However, if I go to manager.sitename.com/settings, the page comes up! This app.ini configuration works fine in ZF 1.7.8, But now since I upgraded to 1.9.5, it no longer works. I have tried adding routes.manager.defaults.controller = "manager" and routes.manager.defaults.action = 'index" to my configuration as well, but this didn't work. There is not much out there on the internet with chaining and app.ini dealing with Zend Framework. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • Trying to get around this Webservice call from Android using AsycTask

    - by Kevin Rave
I am a fairly beginner in Android Development. I am developing an application that extensively relays on Webservice calls. First screen takes username and password and validates the user by calling the Webservice. If U/P is valid, then I need to fire up the 2nd activity. In that 2nd activity, I need to do 3 calls. But I haven't gotten to the 2nd part yet. In fact, I haven't completed the full coding yet. But I wanted to test if the app is working as far as I've come through. When calling webserivce, I am showing alert dialog. But the app is crashing somewhere. The LoginActivity shows up. When I enter U/P and press Login Button, it crashes. My classes: TaskHandler.java public class TaskHandler { private String URL; private User userObj; private String results; private JSONDownloaderTask task; ; public TaskHandler( String url, User user) { this.URL = url; this.userObj = user; } public String handleTask() { Log.d("Two", "In the function"); task = new JSONDownloaderTask(); Log.d("Three", "In the function"); task.execute(URL); return results; } private class JSONDownloaderTask extends AsyncTask<String, Void, String> { private String username;// = userObj.getUsername(); private String password; //= userObj.getPassword(); public HttpStatus status_code; public JSONDownloaderTask() { Log.d("con", "Success"); this.username = userObj.getUsername(); this.password = userObj.getPassword(); Log.d("User" + this.username , " Pass" + this.password); } private AsyncProgressActivity progressbar = new AsyncProgressActivity(); @Override protected void onPreExecute() { progressbar.showLoadingProgressDialog(); • Learning Java and logic using debugger. Did I cheat?

    - by centr0
After a break from coding in general, my way of thinking logically faded (as if it was there to begin with...). I'm no master programmer. Intermediate at best. I decided to see if i can write an algorithm to print out the fibonacci sequence in Java. I got really frustrated because it was something so simple, and used the debugger to see what was going on with my variables. solved it in less than a minute with the help of the debugger. Is this cheating? When I read code either from a book or someone else's, I now find that it takes me a little more time to understand. If the alghorithm is complex (to me) i end up writing notes as to whats going on in the loop. A primitive debugger if you will. When you other programmers read code, do you also need to write things down as to whats the code doing? Or are you a genius and and just retain it?

  • Sending an HTTP POST request through the android emulator doesn't work

    - by Sotirios Delimanolis
I'm running a tomcat servlet on my local machine and an Android emulator with an app that makes a post request to the servlet. The code for the POST is below (without exceptions and the like): String strUrl = "http://10.0.2.2:8080/DeviceDiscoveryServer/server/devices/"; Device device = Device.getUniqueInstance(); urlParameters += URLEncoder.encode("user", "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode(device.getUser(), "UTF-8"); urlParameters += "&" + URLEncoder.encode("port", "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode(new Integer(Device.PORT).toString(), "UTF-8"); urlParameters += "&" + URLEncoder.encode("address", "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode(device.getAddress().getHostAddress(), "UTF-8"); URL url = new URL(strUrl); HttpURLConnection connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); connection.setDoOutput(true); connection.setRequestMethod("POST"); OutputStreamWriter wr = new OutputStreamWriter(connection.getOutputStream()); wr.write(urlParameters); wr.flush(); wr.close(); Whenever this code is executed, the servlet isn't called. However if I change the type of the request to 'GET' and don't write anything to the outputstream, the servlet gets called and everything works fine. Am I just not making the POST correctly or is there some other error?

  • Overwriting a range of bits in an integer in a generic way

    - by porgarmingduod
    Given two integers X and Y, I want to overwrite bits at position P to P+N. Example: int x = 0xAAAA; // 0b1010101010101010 int y = 0x0C30; // 0b0000110000110000 int result = 0xAC3A; // 0b1010110000111010 Does this procedure have a name? If I have masks, the operation is easy enough: int mask_x = 0xF00F; // 0b1111000000001111 int mask_y = 0x0FF0; // 0b0000111111110000 int result = (x & mask_x) | (y & mask_y); What I can't quite figure out is how to write it in a generic way, such as in the following generic C++ function: template<typename IntType> IntType OverwriteBits(IntType dst, IntType src, int pos, int len) { // If: // dst = 0xAAAA; // 0b1010101010101010 // src = 0x0C30; // 0b0000110000110000 // pos = 4 ^ // len = 8 ^------- // Then: // result = 0xAC3A; // 0b1010110000111010 } The problem is that I cannot figure out how to make the masks properly when all the variables, including the width of the integer, is variable. Does anyone know how to write the above function properly?

  • What's the best way to link formal specs to JIRA enchancement requests?

    - by Adam
What's the best way to link formal specs to JIRA enhancement requests? I want to track changes to specifications using JIRA. Ideally, I'd like to refer to a functional ID reference in a JIRA ticket (e.g. MYAPPAPPROVAL LOGICMAIN SCREEN), so that program managers can retrospectively categorise defects. The reason for this, is so that QA scripts and documentation tickets can be searched/categorised meaningfully in the tracking system. There seems to be a million possible ways to do this, e.g. should I write a custom component to select functional IDs from a tree? should I write the specs in confluence, or another CMS with a TrackBack facility? should I include a link to the documentation URL? should I use some other 3rd party plugin application? should I use some Atlassian application that i'm unaware of? am I using the wrong tracking tool/process to measure spec growth? What's the best way, in your experience?

  • php web services not getting data from iphone application

    - by user317192
Hi, I am connecting with a php web service from my iphone application, I am doing a simple thing i.e. 1. Getting user inputs for: username password in a text field from the iphone form and sending the same to the PHP Post request web service. At the web service end I receive nothing other than blank fields that are inserted into the MySQL Database....... The code for sample web service is: ***********SAMPLE CODE FOR WEB SERVICES***** mysql_select_db("eventsfast",$con); $username = $_REQUEST['username']; $password = $_REQUEST['password']; echo $username; echo $password; $data = $_REQUEST; $fp = fopen("log.txt", "w"); fwrite($fp, $data['username']); fwrite($fp, $data['password']); $sql="INSERT INTO users(username, password) VALUES('{$username}','{$password}')"; if(!mysql_query($sql,$con)) { die('Error:'.mysql_error()); } echo json_encode("1 record added to users table"); mysql_close($con); echo "test"; ? ***************PHP******** ****** **************IPHONE EVENT CODE******* import "postdatawithphpViewController.h" @implementation postdatawithphpViewController @synthesize userName, password; -(IBAction) postdataid) sender { NSLog(userName.text); NSLog(password.text); NSString * dataTOB=[userName.text stringByAppendingString:password.text]; NSLog(dataTOB); NSData * postData=[dataTOB dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [postData length]]; NSLog(postLength); NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://localhost:8888/write.php"]]; [request setURL:url]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setValue:@"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [request setHTTPBody:postData]; NSURLResponse *response; NSError *error; [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error]; if(error==nil) NSLog(@"Error is nil"); else NSLog(@"Error is not nil"); NSLog(@"success!"); } Please help.............

  • Python, lambda, find minimum

    - by qba
I have foreach function which calls specified function on every element which it contains. I want to get minimum from thise elements but I have no idea how to write lambda or function or even a class that would manage that. Thanks for every help. I use my foreach function like this: o.foreach( lambda i: i.call() ) or o.foreach( I.call ) I don't like to make a lists or other objects. I want to iterate trough it and find min. I manage to write a class that do the think but there should be some better solution than that: class Min: def __init__(self,i): self.i = i def get_min(self): return self.i def set_val(self,o): if o.val < self.i: self.i = o.val m = Min( xmin ) self.foreach( m.set_val ) xmin = m.get_min() Ok, so I suppose that my .foreach method is non-python idea. I should do my Class iterable because all your solutions are based on lists and then everything will become easier. In C# there would be no problem with lambda function like that, so I though that python is also that powerful.

  • Large Table in iFrame crashes IE8

    - by Brian
I have a page with an iFrame whose source is an ashx page. The handler takes in 3 arguments through the query string and generates a text/html response containing a table. When the table gets 1700 rows it crashes the IE8 browser. The browser freezes and returns a null reference error. If I take the html that is being rendered and place it inside a DIV on the page it renders fine in IE8. Any suggestions?

  • Best practices for handling binary data in Ruby?

    - by StackedCrooked
What are the best practices for reading and writing binary data in Ruby? In the code sample below I needed to send a binary file using over HTTP (as POST data): f = File.new("resp.der", "r") # binary file begin while true out.syswrite(f.sysread(1)) # out is an output stream (type IO) end rescue EOFError => err puts "Sent response." end While this code seems to do a good job, it probably isn't very idiomatic. How can I improve it?

I have a problem while using the file_get_contents function. I am using it to get a response from a different web server, but it's not returning anything (shown as empty string using var_dump). Also, the problem is only while calling this specific server, because I got result when I used Google's address; and it's working fine in my local machine. I've tried cUrl too - but same result.

    - by Peter Farmer
Its been mentioned in other answers about getting the same code running for both the def get(self) and the def post(self) for any given request. I was wondering what techniques people use, I was thinking of: class ListSubs(webapp.RequestHandler): def get(self): self._run() def post(self): self._run() def _run(self): self.response.out.write("This works nicely!")

  • How would I construct a terminal command to download a folder with wget from a Media Temple (gs) ser

    - by racl101
I'm trying to download a folder using wget on the Terminal (I'm usin a Mac if that matters) because my ftp client sucks and keeps timing out. It doesn't stay connected for long. So I was wondering if I could use wget to connect via ftp protocol to the server to download the directory in question. I have searched around in the internet for this and have attempted to write the command but it keeps failing. So assuming the following: ftp username is: [email protected] ftp host is: ftp.s12345.gridserver.com ftp password is: somepassword I have tried to write the command in the following ways: wget -r ftp://[email protected]:[email protected]/path/to/desired/folder/ wget -r ftp://serveradmin:[email protected]/path/to/desired/folder/ When I try the first way I get this error: Bad port number. When I try the second way I get a little further but I get this error: Resolving s12345.gridserver.com... 71.46.226.79 Connecting to s12345.gridserver.com|71.46.226.79|:21... connected. Logging in as serveradmin ... Login incorrect. What could I be doing wrong?
