  • Making GridView Respond to 2 Drop Down Lists

    - by raziiq
Hi there. I have got 2 Drop Down Lists on my Form and 1 GridView. I want GridView to display the data according to selection from the Drop Down Lists. For Example, One Drop Down List contains Names and other contains Dates. Both the Drop Down Lists can post back. So if i select a name from 1st Drop Down list, the Grid View should show all the results according to that Name. Similarly if i select the Date from the other Drop Down List , the Grid View should show the results according to the dates. But i cant figure out as how to bind Grid View to respond to 2 Drop Down List. BTW i am binding both the Drop Down Lists and the Grid View to the DataSource Objects, which is getting data from the database. Any Suggestions??

  • Android Bluetooth syncing

    - by Darryl
I am connecting to a bluetooth enabled camera, and I am able to connect using the methods found in the BluetoothChat example. I need to send commands to the camera. The issue is that I also need to get a response BACK from the camera after I send the command in the first place. So basically I need to write a command and receive a response. However, the thing is that the commands sometimes don't generate a response. Even the documentation on the camera says that you "have to send the sync command as many as 25 times on power up before you will get a response." So I cannot just write a command and wait for a response, as the "read" function blocks the thread. If I have the read function in another thread, like the bluetooth chat example, there seems to be sync issues, i.e., if I issue a write command, how can I know that it is reading if that is happening in another thread? I did set a global variable to check for, but this seems "iffy" at best. So basically I need to write to the bluetooth and then attempt to read from it. However, I need to let that read timeout and if I haven't received a response, I need to write again until I get a response (or until it's tried a set number of times). I don't need the read function to be going all the time in the background. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time.

  • UIView scaled to thumbprint, what about subviews?

    - by Parad0x13
I have a UIImageView that I create progmatically right? Works like a charm when I initWithImage and set the parameters for scaling to UIViewContentModeScaleToFill. I can scale all day long and create many different smaller 'thumbprint' sized versions of the UIImageView at whim, HOWEVER when I add subviews to said UIImageView and then try to scale the happy new parent the child subview does not scale! I looked around and found that I should enable the setAutoresizingSubviews boolean of the parentView to true (Which I did) and then call: ChildView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; Which I also did... now when I scale the parent view the child also scales but crazy wacked out like and goes all over the place (Not a very good way of putting it) but my point is that I assumed the child would scale proportionally to the parent and stay in the same place (Which it doesn't) My question is how do I set up my code so that when I scale my parent view by 1/4 or w/e to make a thumbprint of the view the children subviews that the parent view owns will scale accordingly and allow the 1/4 sized thumbprint to look just like the full sized view (Just smaller).

  • Layout: how to make image to change its width and height proportionally?

    - by Exterminator13
I have such layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/my_image" android:ellipsize="end" android:singleLine="true" android:text="Some text" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceMedium" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/my_image" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignTop="@+id/title" android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/title" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:src="@drawable/my_bitmap_image" /> This layout does almost what I need: it makes image view height the same as text view. The image graphic contents stretched also keeping aspect ratio. But, the width of the image view does not change! As a result, I have a wide gap between text and the image view! As a temporal solution, I override View#onLayout. The question: how to change image width in xml layout? UPDATE: This is a final layout I need (text + a few images). Look at the first image: its width should be exactly the same as scaled image in it with no paddings and margins:

  • How do I dynamically import a module in App Engine?

    - by Scott Ferguson
I'm trying to dynamically load a class from a specific module (called 'commands') and the code runs totally cool on my local setup running from a local Django server. This bombs out though when I deploy to Google App Engine. I've tried adding the commands module's parent module to the import as well with no avail (on either setup in that case). Here's the code: mod = __import__('commands.%s' % command, globals(), locals(), [command]) return getattr(mod, command) App Engine just throws an ImportError whenever it hits this. And the clarify, it doesn't bomb out on the commands module. If I have a command like 'commands.cat' it can't find 'cat'.

    - by M.Vijay bhasker
In the left navigation i have a series of check boxes and a grid view in the page body.Grid view results changes based on the check box selection, whenever i click on the links in grid view it goes to the second page and there is a link on the page which takes me back to the first page, but the check box selected value is maintained for the first time only and if we repeat the same process for the second time and i see that the first time selection of the check box is maintained. Here the grid view is placed in update panel and the check box in the left is called using .... I've tried removing the above code referring the cphLeftNavigation and i see the results are coming up correctly and the last selected check box value is being maintained correctly and i want the same functionality to be implemented with/without update panel. Can anyone let me know, what exactly should i change to implement the above mentioned functionality.

I am new to Android and am trying to create a very basic app that calculates and displays the GCF of two numbers entered by the user. Here is a copy of my GCF.java: package com.example.GCF; import java.util.Arrays; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.EditText; import android.widget.TextView; public class GCF extends Activity { private TextView mAnswer; private EditText mA, mB; private Button ok; private String A, B; private int iA, iB; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); mA = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.entry); mB = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.entry1); ok = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ok); mAnswer = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.answer1); ok.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { A = mA.getText().toString(); B = mB.getText().toString(); } }); // the String to int conversion happens here iA = Integer.parseInt(A.trim()); iB = Integer.parseInt(B.trim()); while (iA != iB) { int[] nums={ iA, iB, Math.abs(iA-iB) }; Arrays.sort(nums); iA=nums[0]; iB=nums[1]; } updateDisplay(); } private void updateDisplay() { mAnswer.setText( new StringBuilder().append(iA)); } } Any Suggestions? • Show a SplashScreenScene before to GameScene?

    - by lisovaccaro
I want to add a splash screen to my game. I created a SplashScene.sks and a SplashScene.swift file. I'm trying to load my SplashScene before GameScene but I cannot manage to do it. How should I do this? This is what I'm trying now: class GameViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() let skView = self.view as SKView skView.ignoresSiblingOrder = true /* Set the scale mode to scale to fit the window */ var scene = SplashScreenScene() // Present SplashScreenScene first scene.scaleMode = .AspectFill skView.presentScene(scene) } Then on my SplashScreenScene: class SplashScreenScene: SKScene { override func didMoveToView(view: SKView) { self.size = view.bounds.size self.anchorPoint = CGPointMake(0.5, 0.5) var background = SKSpriteNode(imageNamed:"LaunchImage") self.addChild(background) // Start timer to load next scene NSTimer.scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval(1, target: self, selector: Selector("changeScene"), userInfo: nil, repeats: false) } func changeScene() { let scene = GameScene() view.presentScene(scene) } } This is very close to the solution, however for some reason when I do this my game becomes laggy (if I present GameScene directly the game runs fine).

  • How to make my WPF application as FAST as Outlook

    - by Raul Otaño
The commons WPF applications take some time for loading medium complex views, once the view is loaded it works fine. For example in a Master - Detail view, if the Detail view is very complex and use different DataTemplates take some seconds (2-3 seconds) for load the view. When i open the Outlook application, for instance, it renders complex views and it is relative much more fast. Is there a way for increase the performance of my WPF application? Maybe a way for not loading the template's data every time that change the "master" item, and load it only one time in the app time live? i will appreciate any suggestion.

  • Why does my Sharepoint page's custom content type change to "Page" when editing?

    - by Mobius
I have a custom Sharepoint 2007 site definition with custom content types for the different page layouts. When editing a page using a custom layout from the main "View all contents" tree view, the page content type is fine, but if I view the page directly and edit it from there, the content type gets stripped and replaced with "Page." I can change it back by viewing and editing it from the main list, but not from its subsite home location.

  • Why is my Perl script that calls FTP all of a sudden failing?

    - by Mel
    I have a script that has been running for over a year and now it is failing: It is creating a command file: open ( FTPFILE, ">get_list"); print FTPFILE "dir *.txt"\n"; print FTPFILE "quit\n"; close FTPFILE; Then I run the system command: $command = "ftp ".$Server." < get_list | grep \"\^-\" >new_list"; $code = system($command); The logic the checks: if ($code == 0) { do stuff } else { log error } It is logging an error. When I print the $code variable, I am getting 256. I used this command to parse the $? variable: $exit_value = $? >> 8; $signal_num = $? & 127; $dumped_core = $? & 128; print "Exit: $exit_value Sig: $signal_num Core: $dumped_core\n"; Results: Exit: 1 Sig: 0 Core: 0 Thanks for any help/insight.

  • How to refactor models without breaking WPF views?

    - by Tim Murphy
I've just started learning WPF and like the power of databinding it presents; that is ignoring the complexity and confusion for a noob. My concern is how do you safely refactor your models/viewmodels without breaking the views that use them? Take the following snippet of a view for example: <Grid> <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Contacts}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="First Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=FirstName}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Last Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=FirstName}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="DOB" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=DateOfBirth}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="# Pets" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=NumberOfPets}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Male" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Path=IsMale}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> </Grid> The list is bound to the Contacts property, IList(Of Contact), of the windows DataSource and each of the properties for a Contact is bound to a GridViewColumn. Now if I change the name of the NumberOfPets property in the Contact model to PetCount the view will break. How do I prevent the view breaking?

  • Navigating between 2 ViewControllers

    - by Kobe.o4
Im using Navigation Controller for my ViewControllers,I set my importantViewController as something like this to be its RootView: UINavigationController *navControl = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController: vc]; [self presentModalViewController: navControl animated: YES]; Then, I pushView anotherView the FrontViewController like this: [self.navigationController pushViewController:vc animated:YES]; After a button is pressed in FrontViewController another view will be pushed ViewA but it is connected with another ViewController ViewB the same way as this AGAIN: [self.navigationController pushViewController:vc animated:YES]; (Which I think Im doing wrong when dismissing either of them with [self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES];) This is an illustration: My problem is, I need to navigate between View A and View B then when I dismiss either of them it will got back to FrontViewController.
