    When I use apt-get install i get the error: Error: cluster_port_ready: could not find psql binary What do I do here? I have tried to remove PostgreSQL 8.2 but it gives this error: The following packages have unmet dependencies: postgresql-8.2: Depends: libkrb53 (>= 1.6.dfsg.1) but it is not installable Depends: postgresql-client-8.2 but it is not installable E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution). And then I end up at the start, with the error when trying apt-get -f install. /Christoffer

  • "0x80004005: Unspecified error" when renaming folders in Windows 7

    Setup I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. The operating system is installed on an 80GB Intel X-25M. I have a secondary 500GB Barracuda 7200.12 to be used for storage. This second drive is mounted as 'G'. Problem I'm getting an error whenever I try to rename a folder within this drive. The error says: An unexpected error is keeping you from renaming the folder. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error Clicking the "Try Again" button gets past the error, and correctly renames the folder. If I create a folder and leave it's name as "New Folder", then I don't see an error. I'm also able to manipulate files however I want without seeing an error. Things I've Tried Changing permissions on the drive Reformatting the drive. I've tried using both a "Basic" and "Dynamic" partition table. Checking the drive for errors using Microsoft tools Things I've Not Yet Tried When I first installed Windows I was given a choice between three types of partitions to use. I no longer remember what the choices were or what I selected. One was a GUID partition table, one was a traditional MBR, and I can't remember the third option.

    I'm trying to commit some files in my Git repository, and I'm receiving this error. This all started when I ran git rm -rf folder and git rm -rf file and tried to commit the changes. I've since been able to commit and push without these files being deleted from my remote repository, however I'm now completely stuck. The full error is: error: a NUL byte in commit log message not allowed. fatal: failed to write commit object What can I do to fix this? My Google-fu has let me down on this one. Edit: I've just checked out these deleted files, and attempted to commit again, but it's still giving me the same error. Has my Git repo been corrupted or something?

  • Exchange 2010 add mailbox server to DAG error

    Hello, i'm having some problems when adding a second mailbox server to my DAG in Exchange 2010. The test setup goes like this: 1x windows server 2008 (DC/DNS) 2x windows server 2008 (Exchange 2010) I have made sure all services are up and running and that the "Exchange Trusted Subsystem" account is set as a local admin. When i create a DAG i can add the first mailbox server (A) without any problems, but when i go to add the second (B) it gives me an error saying "Unable to contact the Cluster service on 1 other members (member) of the Database availability group. It does the same if i add (B) first and then try to add (A).   • HTTP 500 Internal Server Error on IIS 7.5 with MVC3

    I am trying to install an MVC3 application on our production server with no luck. The application is from a 3rd party (compiled), and so debugging is not available to me. Besides, I strongly suspect the error occurs before any code in the site has a chance to execute. Our staging server is - as far as I can determine - set up excactly like the production server. Both run Windows Server 2008 Standard R2, both also run a Sharepoint 2010 site (though this install doesn't touch that in any way). IIS is version 7.5, and .NET Framework 4.0 (required by the MVC app) is (recently) installed (by me, with a reboot after). The application is very small and simple and, as far as I can tell sticks to fairly standard functionality - including forms authentication (ie. it doesnt' pull any dirty tricks). The error message shown in the browser is very general: HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. The bit about 'An error message detailing the cause' being in the application event log seems to be just speculation - a pious hope that whatever code actually caused the error will log it. Nothing useful is to be found in the event log (only the very same message, logged by IIS). (0x80070002) So there you have it. Seemingly, the AspNetInitClrHostFailureModule fails to find some file. So some questions are: What is the AspNetInitClrHostFailureModule? It is not listed in the fairly exhausting list of modules configurable in IIS manager for the site. I have had no success googling it either. Maybe it's secret.. I access the root URL of the site. This is supposed to be redirected to /Account/LogOn by the FormsAuthenticationModule. Why then is the handler StaticFile? Is that a clue? I have tried removing the infamous system.webserver/modules/runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests attribute, and that makes the error go away (but MVC not actually working, of course). I am prepared to specify all necessary modules manually if that's what it takes, but if the AspNetInitClrHostFailureModule is actually needed, I will be just as stuck. Does anyone know, or can anyone direct me to someone who knows, exactly what modules a typical MVC3 application actually needs? This question might well be a duplicate of this one, but he didn't get any useful answer, and also asked less specific questions. So I'll have my own go. Hoping for some help here :) Edit: I have now tried setting up a trivial MVC 3 project on the server. I created a new project using the MVC Application template, compiled it and deployed it to the server. It behaves in exactly the same way. The server simply cannot run MVC 3 projects.

  • Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement during installation

    I am running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition R2 x64 and I installed SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition. All of the preliminary checks run fine (Apart from a warning about Windows Firewall and opening ports which is unrelated to this and shouldn't be an issue - I can open those ports). Half way through the actual installation, I get a popup with this error: Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement. The installation still runs to completion when I press ok. However, at the end, it states that the following services "failed": database engine services sql server replication full-text search reporting services How do I know if this actually means that anything from my installation (which is on a clean Windows Server setup - nothing else on there, no previous SQL Servers, no upgrades, etc) is missing? I know from my programming experience that locks are for concurrency control and the Microsoft help on this issue points to changing my query's lock/transactions in a certain way to fix the issue. But I am not touching any queries? Also, now that I have installed the app, when I login, I keep getting this message: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to MSSQLSERVER. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.       This sys.dm_exec_sessions DMV is another Server-Scoped DMV which returns information for each authenticated session that is running on your SQL Server box. Lets take a look at some of the information that this DMV returns. SELECT * FROM sys.dm_exec_sessions This DMV is very similar to the DMV we reviewed yesterday, sys.dm_exec_requests, and returns some of the same information such as reads, writes, and status for a given session_id (SPID). But this DMV returns additional information such as the Host name of the machine that owns the SPID, the program that is being used to connect to SQL Server, and the Client interface name. In addition to this information, this DMV also provides useful information on session level settings that may be on or off such as quoted identifier, arithabort, ansi padding, ansi nulls, etc. This DMV will also provide information about what specific isolation level the session is executing under and if the default deadlock priority for your SPID has been changed from the default. Lastly, this DMV provides you with an Original Login Name, which comes in handy whenever you have some type of context switching taking place due to an ‘EXECUTE AS’ statement being used and you need to identify the original login that started a session.     I have a Ubuntu 12.04 server which sometimes dies completely - no SSH, no ping, nothing until it is physically rebooted. After the reboot, I see in syslog that the oom-killer killed, well, pretty much everything. There's a lot of detailed memory usage information in them. How do I read these logs to see what caused the OOM issue? The server has far more memory than it needs, so it shouldn't be running out of memory.     I'm trying to install MSSQL 2000 on a virtual Windows 2003 instance. However, every time I run the install program, it fails to start the service.   • svn 503 error when commit new files

    I am struggling with a strange error when I try to commit my repository. I have a V-server with webmin installed on it. Via Webmin I installed an svn module, created repositories and everything worked fine until three days ago. Trying to commit brings the following error: Commit failed (details follow): Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/!svn/wrk/a1f963a7-0a33-fa48-bfde-183ea06ab958/RLE/.htaccess' Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/RLE/.htaccess' I google everywhere and found only very few solutions. One indicated that a wrong error document is set, another one dealt about the problem that filenames might cause this error and last but not least a wrong proxy configuration in the local svn config could be the reason. After trying all of the solutions suggested I could not reach anything. Only after a server reboot there was a little difference in the error-message, telling me that the server was not able to move a temp file, because the operation was permitted. So I also controlled the permissions of the svn directory, but also with no success. An svn update than restored the "normal" error from above and nothing changed since then. The only change I made on the server, I guess that this could be the reason why svn does not work anymore, was to install the php5_mysql module for apache via apt-get install php5_mysql. Atg the moment I have totally no idea where I could search. I don't know if the problem is on my server or in my repository and I would be glad to get any hint to solve this.   • Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement during installation

    Hi, I am running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition R2 x64 and I installed SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition. All of the preliminary checks run fine (Apart from a warning about Windows Firewall and opening ports which is unrelated to this and shouldn't be an issue - I can open those ports). Half way through the actual installation, I get a popup with this error: Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement. The installation still runs to completion when I press ok. However, at the end, it states that the following services "failed": database engine services sql server replication full-text search reporting services How do I know if this actually means that anything from my installation (which is on a clean Windows Server setup - nothing else on there, no previous SQL Servers, no upgrades, etc) is missing? I know from my programming experience that locks are for concurrency control and the Microsoft help on this issue points to changing my query's lock/transactions in a certain way to fix the issue. But I am not touching any queries? Also, now that I have installed the app, when I login, I keep getting this message: TITLE: Connect to Server Cannot connect to MSSQLSERVER. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 67) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=67&LinkId=20476 BUTTONS: OK I went into the Configuration Manager and enabled named pipes and restarted the service (this is something I have done before as this message is common and not serious).     I'm having some trouble with the SQLSERVER PSDRIVE. See error below. I only have named instances on my PC, both 2005 and 2008 Added the SQL snapins. The PC is named YODA The SQL instance is SQL2008 Navigate to the Databases folder for YODA\SQL2008. You can see the path below. dir -name spits out a connection error trying to connect to YODASQL2008\DEFAULT when it should be trying to connect to YODA\SQL2008. Then it outputs the db name which is Twitter in this case. Is there something missing from my config?     The first DMO that I would like to introduce you to is one of the most common and basic DMV’s out there. I use the term DMV because this DMO is actually a view as opposed to a function. This DMV is server-scoped and it returns information about all requests that are currently executing on your SQL Server instance. To illustrate what this DMV returns, lets take a look at the results. As you can see, this DMV returns a wealth of information about requests occurring on your server. You are able to see the SPID, the start time of a request, current status, and the command the SPID is executing. In addition to this you see columns for sql_handle and plan_handle. These columns (when combined with other DMO’s we will discuss later) can return the actual sql text that is being executed on your server as well as the actual execution plan that is cached and being used. This DMV also returns information about various wait types that may be occurring for your spid. The percent_complete column displays a percentage to completion for certain database actions such as DBCC CheckDB, Database Restores, Rollback’s, etc. In addition to these, you are also able to see the amount of reads, writes, and cpu that the SPID has consumed. You will find this DMV to be one of the primary DMV’s that you use when looking for information about what is occurring on your server.

    I'm trying to set up custom error pages in tomcat 6, because I don't want the default ones to show up. My error pages are static html, no jsp or anything dynamic. I know how to do this through the web.xml in each application but I'd prefere to setup the error pages only once for the entire server. I tried to add the following fragment to the global web.xml (in conf), but no matter what I add under location, it does not show. <error-page> <error-code>404</error-code> <location>/404.html</location> </error-page> What do I need to do to gobally define custom error pages?   • IIS 7.0 404 Custom Error Page and web.config

    I am having trouble with a custom 404 error page. I have a domain running a .NET proj with it's own error handling. I have a web.config running for the domain which contains: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"> <error statusCode="500" redirect="/Error"/> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404"/> </customErrors> On a sub dir of that domain I am ignoring all routes there by doing routes.IgnoreRoute("Assets/{*pathInfo}"); in the .NET proj and I want to put a custom 404 error page on that and any sub dir's of Assets. The sub dir contains static content like images, css, js etc etc. So in the Error Pages section of IIS I put a redirect to an absolute URL. The web.config for that dir looks like the following: <system.webServer> <httpErrors> <remove statusCode="404" subStatusCode="-1" /> <error statusCode="404" prefixLanguageFilePath="" path="http://mydomain.com/404" responseMode="Redirect" /> </httpErrors> </system.webServer> But I navigate to an unknown URL under that dir and yet I still see the default IIS 404 page. I am also seeing an alert in IIS that reads: You have configured detailed error messages to be returned for both local and remote requests. When this option is selected, custom error configuration is not used. Does this have anything to do with the customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" in the site web.config? I have tried to overwrite the customErrors in the sub dir web.config but nothing changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Logging Bounced messages to a Database (Postfix with virtual domains/users)

    We have a postfix installation with a couple of virtual domains each with virtual users. These domains and users are mapped using a mysql database. I have been until now tracking bounces by parsing the postfix log file. I suspect there must be better and more efficient ways of doing this. I thought of three but I am not sure what is best: Write a Postfix content filter that logs the bounce and throws away the mail Use procmail - but I am not sure how procmail would work with virtual users who have no $HOME defined Write a script that POPs mail from mailboxes; parses and logs them and deletes the bounced email I would appreciate advise on which would be best from a maintenance point of view and efficient from conserving server resources point of view.
