• CSS problem on HTTPS pages (IE8 toolbar BHO)

  I am developing an IE8 toolbar in C#. The toolbar has a button which when clicked adds some user defined content to the page. I am using a BHO to add the required HTML, CSS & JS to the page. Things are fine with "http" pages. But, when a "https" page is loaded, user keeps getting the IE warning "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?....". I traced the problem to some css rules, where I am using local png files which are already installed on the user's machine. Is there any way by which I can access the png files on the local machine without getting the IE8 warning?

• Create a select tag with some options grouped and others not grouped

  I'm using Rails 3. I want to create a select tag with some options grouped and others not grouped. Options would look something like this: Income Auto Fuel Maintenance Home Maintenance Mortgage In this example, Income is not a group, but Auto and Home are. I see three helper methods grouped_options_for_select and grouped_collection_select, option_groups_from_collection_for_select. Is there a way to use a helper to do this or will I have to generate the HTML myself? I imagine I could use two different helpers to create the options and just append the results of both.

• Strategy for Storing Multiple Nullable Booleans in SQL

  I have an object (happens to be C#) with about 20 properties that are nullable booleans. There will be perhaps a few million such objects persisted to a SQL database (currently SQL Server 2008 R2, but MySQL may need to be supported in the future). The instances themselves are relatively large because they contain about a paragraph of text as well as some other unrelated properties. For a given object instance, most of the properties will be null most of the time. When users search for instances of such objects, they will select perhaps 1-3 of the nullable boolean properties and search for instances where at least one of those 1-3 properties is non-null (OR search). My first thought is to persist the object to a single table with nullable BIT columns representing the nullable boolean properties. However, this strategy will require one index per BIT column to avoid performing a table scan when searching. Further, each index would not be particularly selective since there are only three possible values per index. Is there a better way to approach this problem?

I should call functions like similar to "Library.GetBoutiqueDetail();" So my question is simple, how can I refactor that code to remove these if-else sections ?

• Is there a unified way to know if a node is visible or not?

  Hello guys, I'd like to be able to know if a node is visible and rendered on screen. As far as I know, there are at least 3 standard and easy ways of making HTML nodes not visible: Setting opacity: 0; Setting display: none; Setting visibility: hidden. I could check for just these three, but I'm afraid people can get creative when it comes to ways of hiding contents: Sending the element offscreen using negative margins; Using a width or height of 0 and hiding overflow; many more I trust people to have developed. So I was wondering if there is a standard way of determining if a node is rendered to the screen. I'm pretty sure all major browsers determine it for themselves to accelerate drawing, so maybe it's somehow exposed.

• IE6 and IE7 Standalone: What do they render differently?

  It's common knowledge on SO (see this question) that to run IE6 and IE7 you need a Windows box (or virtual box) with only those apps installed. I doubt this is true (they are the real versions, I think). The two browsers I'm interested in are: Standalone IE6 from the MultipleIEs install Standalone IE7 also from Tredosoft (but published elsewhere) These two plus a "real" install of IE8 give you three IE versions in one Windows install. We all know that "You're out of luck if you're trying to run them all reliably in one VM," but can someone please show me JS, CSS, or HTML (or a plugin, etc.) that does not work on the standalone versions as it should? Downvoters: I'm fixing the question so that it's less aggressive, but since there are no comments I don't know what you don't like about this question. Also: I have ALL the test cases set up (IE6, IE7 and IE8, as well as the standalone versions) so if anybody has any code they want me to test, I can do that.

  I'm building three web applications in .NET that will all share a users database and login information. Lets pretend that application 1 is the "parent" application and applications "A" and "B" are the "child" applications. All users have to be logged into application 1 to have access to applications A and B. Authorization, Authentication, and MachineKey sections of all web configs are present and work correctly. I have the correct web.config settings in all applications to achieve Single Sign On except one problem remains: what do I put in the "loginUrl" attribute of the forms tag in Applications A and B. Assume that the url for the login to application 1 is "www.johnsapp.com/login.aspx" How can I get applications A and B to send the user back to application 1 for authentication using only settings in web.config?

  Hello. I've got a new project, and currently I'm trying to set it correctly. But somehow I can't make my media files work. Here's my current setting : MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.normpath( '/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/site_media/' ) templates setting work on the other hand : TEMPLATE_DIRS = ( "/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/templates", ) Catalog with media files is ../fandrive/site-media/ so why it's not working ? • Edit Mode Delete Spinner Icon for Specific TableView Rows

  I have a grouped tableview. Each section has three rows. I need to be able to delete one section at a time. Using the standard edit mode, I can make it work. However, the delete icon shows up to the left of each cell, not just the first row in each section. Is there a way to suppress the little spinner icon for all rows except the first? I am hoping there is an easy way to do this without subclassing. Thanks for your help. • C++ Word-Number to int

  I'm developing a program that makes basic calculations using words instead of numbers. E.g. five + two would output seven. The program becomes more complex, taking input such as two_hundred_one + five_thousand_six (201 + 5006) Through operator overloading methods, I split each number and assign it to it's own array index. two would be [0], hundred is [1], and one is [2]. Then the array recycles for 5006. My problem is, to perform the actual calculation, I need to convert the words stored in the array to actual integers. I have const string arrays such as this as a library of the words: const string units[] = { "", "one", "two", "three", "four", "five", "six", "seven", "eight", "nine" }; const string teens[] = { "ten", "eleven", "twelve", "thirteen", "fourteen", "fifteen", "sixteen", "seventeen", "eighteen", "nineteen" }; const string tens[] = { "", "", "twenty", "thirty", "forty", "fifty", "sixty", "seventy", "eighty", "ninety" }; If my 'token' array has stored in it two hundred one in index 0, 1, and 2, I'm not sure what the best way to convert these to ints would involve.

  I have a local neo4j database server and I want to build a web interface using javascript. Ideally I want to do all the querying and display the result client side for the website. I am mostly a Java programmer and unfortunately don't have much experience with Javascript. How can I do a cypher query from the website and return the result in a format which I can display easily in a table for example? I have seen examples of doing the querying server side with servlets or node.js but really would like to just have the neo4j server and the website client. I would be interesting in seeing a small working example if it is at all possible. Thanks for your time.

  In my previous question I could add a design time panel to a tab page at run time and my code looks like this and it works Ok. tabControl1.SuspendLayout(); tabControl1.TabPages[0].Controls.Add(panel1); tabControl1.ResumeLayout(); but now I need to do something like this: tabControl1.SuspendLayout(); tabControl1.TabPages[0].Controls.Add(panel1); tabControl1.TabPages[1].Controls.Add(panel1); tabControl1.TabPages[2].Controls.Add(panel1); tabControl1.ResumeLayout(); which just at run-time I can know how many of these Tabpages I will need. but now for testing I am assuming I will have three tabPages the Problem is that the panel only gets added to the Last tabPage, How can I fix this? I want it get added to all of the tab pages Thanks.

• Adding more OR searches with CONTAINS Brings Query to Crawl

  I have a simple query that relies on two full-text indexed tables, but it runs extremely slow when I have the CONTAINS combined with any additional OR search. As seen in the execution plan, the two full text searches crush the performance. If I query with just 1 of the CONTAINS, or neither, the query is sub-second, but the moment you add OR into the mix the query becomes ill-fated. The two tables are nothing special, they're not overly wide (42 cols in one, 21 in the other; maybe 10 cols are FT indexed in each) or even contain very many records (36k recs in the biggest of the two). I was able to solve the performance by splitting the two CONTAINS searches into their own SELECT queries and then UNION the three together. Is this UNION workaround my only hope? Thanks. • Random select is not always returning a single row.

  The intention of following (simplified) code fragment is to return one random row. Unfortunatly, when we run this fragment in the query analyzer, it returns between zero and three results. As our input table consists of exactly 5 rows with unique ID's and as we perform a select on this table where ID equals a random number, we are stumped that there would ever be more than one row returned. Note: among other things, we already tried casting the checksum result to an integer with no avail.   This question is related to: How do I determine the intersection point of two lines in GDI+? (great explanation of algebra but no code) How do you detect where two line segments intersect? (accepted answer doesn't actually work) But note that an interesting sub-problem is completely glossed over in most solutions which just return null for the coincident case even though there are three sub-cases: coincident but do not overlap touching just points and coincident overlap/coincident line sub-segment For example we could design a C# function like this: public static PointF[] Intersection(PointF a1, PointF a2, PointF b1, PointF b2) where (a1,a2) is one line segment and (b1,b2) is another. This function would need to cover all the weird cases that most implementations or explanations gloss over. In order to account for the weirdness of coincident lines, the function could return an array of PointF's: zero result points (or null) if the lines are parallel or do not intersect (infinite lines intersect but line segments are disjoint, or lines are parallel) one result point (containing the intersection location) if they do intersect or if they are coincident at one point two result points (for the overlapping part of the line segments) if the two lines are coincident

  in how to node Blog rolling with node.js and mongoDB the author mentions it's a good idea to shorten proprieties names: ....oft-reported issue with mongoDB is the size of the data on the disk... each and every record stores all the field-names .... This means that it can often be more space-efficient to have properties such as 't', or 'b' rather than 'title' or 'body', however for fear of confusion I would avoid this unless truly required! I am aware of solutions of how to do it I am more intrested in when is it truly required?

  I have to select web link when i mouse hover to particular frame in the webpage, the button(link to next page) will be visible. WebElement mainElement = driver.findElement(By.xpath(<frame xpath >)); Actions builder = new Actions(driver); builder.moveToElement(mainElement); WebElement button1 = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[@id='currentSkills']/div[1]/div/a")); builder.moveToElement(button1).click().perform(); I am still unable to select the particular link when i execute, the following error am getting org.openqa.selenium.ElementNotVisibleException: Element is not currently visible and so may not be interacted with (WARNING: The server did not provide any stacktrace information) Command duration or timeout: 131 milliseconds But when i hover mouse pointer to the particular frame during AUT(just to move to particular frame without clicking anything), then test is executing sucessfully. I know this can be handled by JS. But i want to find out is there any solution within selenium webdriver Your help is much appreciated... Thanks Madan

• Using Google Map Headers (YM4R) on Heroku

• jquery not working in mvc after publishing to server

  Hello, I've built an mvc application which contains some jquery code. When I run the app from my ide, everything works perfectly. When I publish to the server and open the page, the jquery does not work. I get object expected errors. Could this be due to my file mappings? here is a sample of my mapping in the app - <script type="text/javascript" href="../../Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> I published the app to iis7 successfully, but the jquery is broken. I did publish to an application within an existing web site. Any thoughts?

• Do I have to duplicate this function? - jQuery

  I'm using this function to create an transparent overlay of information over the current div for a web-based mobile app. Background: using jQTouch, so I have separate divs, not individual pages loading new. $(document).ready(function() { $('.infoBtn').click(function() { $('#overlay').toggleFade(400); return false; }); }); Understanding that JS will run sequentially when i click the button on the first div the function works fine. When I go to the next div if I click the same button nothing "happens" when this div is displayed, but if i go back to the first div it has actually triggered it on this page. So I logically duplicated the function and changed the CSS selector names and it works for both. But do I have to do this for each use? Is there a way to use the same selectors, but load the different content in each variation?
