  • PHP - preg_replace with multiple matches

    - by Neil
Let's say I have a string like: $text = "<object>item_id1a2b3</object>xxx<object>item_id4c5d6</object>" I want to convert it to: %ITEM:1a2b3xxx%ITEM:4c5d6 Here's what I've got: $text = preg_replace("/<object.*item_id([a-zA-Z0-9]+).*<\/object/","%ITEM:$1",$text); This isn't quite right, as the search is greedy. Thoughts? Thanks!

  • Background image not showing up on IE8

    - by Rich Bradshaw
I've read through other questions but to no avail - I really can't work this out. The site is http://bit.ly/cqEO53 (hoping to not have any search links to this page so shortening URL). The gradient on the footer looks great in non IE browsers, but fails to show in IE 7,8 and the dev preview. Any ideas?

  • Which XML library for what purposes?

    - by John Mee
A search for "python" and "xml" returns a variety of libraries for combining the two. This list probably faulty: xml.dom xml.etree xml.sax xml.parsers.expat PyXML beautifulsoup? HTMLParser htmllib sgmllib Be nice if someone can offer a quick summary of when to use which, and why.

  • find command in Linux

    - by Martin
My goal is to find all pdf files on a remote machine, so I resort to the useless command find. So I type find . *.pdf or find ~ .pdf or find ~ ".pdf" and I get nothing. I do the same on my machine and I get nothing. I do a regular search from the menu on my machine and I find quite a few pdf files. Would somebody please tell me what am I doing wrong?

  • Displaying Data on the Form with C#

    - by The.Anti.9
I'm searching files and returning lines that include the search text, and I'm not really sure the best way to display the information I get. Every time I get a match, I want to show, in some sort of control, the File it came from, and the whole text line. (aka streamreader.ReadLine() result). First I tried just putting it all in a read-only text box, but it doesn't have a scroll bar. What is the best form control to help me display this data neatly?

    - by goldenmean
Sorry for this not being a "real" question, but Sometime back i remember seeing a post here about randomizing a randomizer randomly to generate truly random numbers, not just pseudo random. I dont see it if i search for it. Does anybody know about that article?

  • Expression builder in Javascript or jQuery?

    - by morpheous
I am searching for an expression builder GUI (like the one used in Microsoft Access). It can be plain Javascript or JQuery plugin. I am loathe to build my own and reinvent the wheel if one already exists - and yet, a search on Google does not find anything remotely useful. Is anyone aware of any such library/plugin or article that covers this?

  • Visual Studio Code Analysis - Does Microsoft follow it themselves?

    - by Oskar Kjellin
Did a quick search but could not find anything about this. I guess all of you know that the Visual Studio Code Analysis is quite nitpicking and gives warnings about a lot of things. Does anybody know how well Microsoft follow this themselves..? That is, if I were to run a code analysis on their assemblies, would the warnings be none or very few (perhaps surpress warning with a justification..?).

  • Changing new Tomcat settings from the defaults in STS Eclipse

    - by Ribeye
I find myself continually having to delete my Tomcat 7 server in STS Eclipse and re-installing. Each time I have to then: a) increase start up time from 45 sec and b) increase Tomcat memory by adding something like this on the "VM Arguments" under the "Arguments" tab: "-XX:MaxPermSize=512m -XX:PermSize=512m -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit" How do you change defaults for a) and b)? Google has plenty of info on changing these one time, but I want to change the defaults for a "new", and on this the search is coming up a blank. Thanks

  • How can I quickly set the iPhone deployment target in Xcode?

    - by nevan
I was reading this great article about Base SDK and Deployment targets and decided to try it out myself. The Deployment target seems to be buried in the Build settings, and not that easy to access compared to the Base SDK target (which is right there in the General tab of the project settings). To get to the Deployment settings now I have to Get Info, go to the Build tab, then search for "Deployment". Is there a quick way to check and access the Deployment target in Xcode that I'm missing?

    - by Sourabh
Hello, I have to do something like this string = " this is a good example to show" search = array {this, good, show} find and replace them with a token like string = " {1} is a {2} example to {3}" (order is intact) the string will undergo some processing and then string = " {1} is a {2} numbers to {3}" (order is intact) tokens are again replaced back to the string likem so that the string becomes string = " this is a good number to show" How should it be implemented so that the process is done at high performance ? Thanks in advance.

  • finding and returning a string with a specified prefix

    - by tipu
I am close but I am not sure what to do with the restuling match object. If I do p = re.search('[/@.* /]', str) I'll get any words that start with @ and end up with a space. This is what I want. However this returns a Match object that I dont' know what to do with. What's the most computationally efficient way of finding and returning a string which is prefixed with a @? For example, "Hi there @guy" After doing the proper calculations, I would be returned guy

  • vim: Executing a list of editor commands

    - by gveda
Hi, Is there a way in vim to give a list of editor commands? I want to execute a series of 'global' commands, and there is some pattern to the commands. So I would ideally like to generate the list of commands (using regex search & substitute), and then run them, instead of having to type in each command. Thanks! Gaurav

  • Managing User Profiles with PHP/MySQL for Beginners

    - by serhio
I am beginner in PHP/MySql and would develop a simple site that has user management. I like the idea of using OpenId's (like stackoverflow uses). I wonder from where to start? What should I read? I have not much time so probably will net enter in all details of PHP user session management, this because I search something like User profiles management in PHP for dummies 8D Environment: Linux OS Apache 2.2.15 MySQL 5.1.41 PHP 5.2.13 cPanel 11.25.0
