• Delphi - OnKeyPress occurs before TStringGrid updates cell with new character

  Coding in Delphi, attaching an OnKeyPress event handler to a TStringGrid: The OnKeyPress event fires before the grid cell that the user is typing into has actually updated its value with the key that has been pressed. This is obviously a problem, when I want to know what the contents of that cell are at this moment, as in, as the user modifies it. The "hacked" solution is simple, if you're not considering every detail: just grab the value from the cell and, since the OnKeyPress event comes along with a Key parameter, append that value to the end - now you have the current value of the cell! False. What if the user has selected all the text in the cell (ie: "foo") and they are now typing 'b'. Since they selected the text, it will be erased and replaced with the letter 'b'. However, the value of the cell will still display as "foo" in OnKeyPress, and the value of Key will be 'b', so the above logic would lead the application to conclude that the cell now contains "foob", which we know is not true. So. Does anybody know how to get around this problem? Is there a way to make OnKeyPress react after the grid's contents have been updated, or perhaps a way to force an update at the start of the handler? I am desperately avoiding the use of the OnKeyUp event here, so any suggestions aside from that would be greatly appreciated.

I have code that does it, but there's a gap: private void TextBox_KeyUp(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key != Key.Enter) { return; } TextBox textbox = (TextBox)sender; if (IsTextBoxTheLastOneInTheTemplate(textbox)) { this.mCollection.Add("A new textbox appears!"); } } The function IsTextBoxTheLastOneInTheTemplate() is something that I need, but can't figure out how to write. • Inherit a parent class docstring as __doc__ attribute

  There is a question about Inherit docstrings in Python class inheritance, but the answers there deal with method docstrings. My question is how to inherit a docstring of a parent class as the __doc__ attribute. The usecase is that Django rest framework generates nice documentation in the html version of your API based on your view classes' docstrings. But when inheriting a base class (with a docstring) in a class without a docstring, the API doesn't show the docstring.   Hey guys, Now I know this question has been asked similarly a lot of times but I'm really struggling here. Its a simple thing I need to do: I would like to post a message onto a users wall saying "I scored 8/10 on objects game" then a URL Thats it. I don't mind if facebook needs to authenticate and then post the message. and I really don't want to have to use the full API - as I don't want to handle user login details.   I need a function that will correctly parse NVP into PHP array. I have been using code provided by paypal but it did not work for when string length was specified next to the name. • How do you jump to a particular row in a DataGridView by typing (a la Windows Explorer details view)

  I have a .NET Winforms app in C# with a DataGridView that's read-only and populated with some number of rows. I'd like to have functionality similar to Windows Explorer's (and many other applications) details view for example. I'd like the DataGridView to behave such that when it has focus if you start typing, the current row selection will jump to the row where the (string) value of cell 0 (i.e. the first column in the row) starts with the characters you typed in. For example, if I have a DataGridView with 1 column and the following rows: Bob Jane Jason John Leroy Sam If the DataGridView has focus and I hit the 'b' key on my keyboard, the selected row is now "Bob". If I quickly type in the keys 'ja', the selected row is Jane. If I quickly type in the letters 'jas', the selected row is Jane. If I hit the 'z' key, nothing is selected (since nothing starts with Z). Likewise if Jane is currently selected and I keep typing the letter 'j', the selection will cycle through to Jason, then John, then back to Jane, each time I hit the 'j' key. I've been doing some Googling (and "stackoverflowing" :-)) for awhile and cannot find any examples of this type of functionality. I have a rough idea in my head to do this via some sort of short lived timer thread, collecting the keystrokes on KeyPress events for the DataGridView, and selecting rows based on those collected keystrokes matching a Cells[0].Value.StartsWith() type of condition. But it seems like there has to be an easier way that I'm just not seeing. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  Hi Everyone, I am trying to resolve this for days at this stage and I'm hoping you can help. I have two ViewControllers which query two different tables from the same database using Core Data. The first ViewController is opened with the app and displays fine.   In past i had read the documentation about getJSON and there is an example with a flickr photo api. (the example with the [pussy]cats :-)). No I ask myself why is it possible, to access flickr directly with this example. Ive tried this by store this code on my local machine - it works but if I use a local copy of jquery i just get an error in firebug like this $ is not defined myurl/test.html Line 11 Does anybody of you have a solution for this paradox thing? • Hibernate : Opinions in Composite PK vs Surrogate PK

  As i understand it, whenever i use @Id and @GeneratedValue on a Long field inside JPA/Hibernate entity, i'm actually using a surrogate key, and i think this is a very nice way to define a primary key considering my not-so-good experiences in using composite primary keys, where : there are more than 1 business-value-columns combination that become a unique PK the composite pk values get duplicated across the table details cannot change the business value inside that composite PK I know hibernate can support both types of PK, but im left wondering by my previous chats with experienced colleagues where they said that composite PK is easier to deal with when doing complex SQL queries and stored procedure processes. They went on saying that when using surrogate keys will complicate things when doing joining and there are several condition when it's impossible to do some stuffs when using surrogate keys. Although im sorry i cant explain the detail here since i was not clear enough when they explain it. Maybe i'll put more details next time. Im currently trying to do a project, and want to try out surrogate keys, since it's not getting duplicated across tables, and we can change the business-column values. And when the need for some business value combination uniqueness, i can use something like : @Table(name="MY_TABLE", uniqueConstraints={ @UniqueConstraint(columnNames={"FIRST_NAME", "LAST_NAME"}) // name + lastName combination must be unique But im still in doubt because of the previous discussion about the composite key. Could you share your experiences in this matter ? Thank you !

I am writing a program in Java using geogoogle (Google Geocoder Java API) http://geo-google.sourceforge.net/ I need from two specific points to get the walking directions between these points and also these info to be exported in a KML file. Do you know how can I do it from Java? Is there an API that I can use? Perhaps making a call from the java program to google and handle the result - but how can it be done? Thanks in advance. PS. • w3wp.exe in ASP.NET production app is using 100% CPU. How to find the problem ?

  Hi, we have an asp.net app in production where w3wp.exe is taking 100% CPU ( 4 cores - 4 threads at 25% ) and cpu load never goes down until we recycle the application pool ( the app is alone in the application pool ). Our error log has nothing, there is no exceptions being emitted ( or at least we don't catch them ) so we suspect it's code problem ( infinite loop / deadlock ). The problem only arises after some hours running with high load ( several thousand users ). There is any way to profile one of the EXISTING threads that is causing cpu load ? After taking a look to JetBrains's DotTrace Profiler seems like it's not possible for limitations of Profiling API and man, we haven't get to reproduce the problem in our testing environment. The app uses SQL Server 2005, LINQ2SQL and System.Transactions API. Any suggestion to find the problem ?

But now I need to remove it from the file system to experiment with something... So, to remove them I am trying following option from Eclipse plugin : Project -> Blackberry -> clean simulator But once I open this option, it's showing me as disable and giving me some alert like "Please select clean option". Bei meinen Testseiten auf einem eigenen Server geht es problemlos, ich sende "a=3&b=5" und als cookie erhalte ich "8", also die Summe. This is working great however when i try to do things with the first x number of items it is doing it on the x number of items in each group rather than across the whole set of results. In table1 i have columns as AddressID(Primary Key),Address1,Address2,City In table2 i have columns as ContactID(Primary Key),AddressID(Foriegn Key),Last Name,First Name. By using join operation i can retrive data from both the tables. I created a Model in my MVC Application.I can see both the tables in enitity editor. • SQL Server Clustered Index: (Physical) Data Page Order

  I am struggling understanding what a clustered index in SQL Server 2005 is. I read the MSDN article Clustered Index Structures (among other things) but I am still unsure if I understand it correctly. The (main) question is: what happens if I insert a row (with a "low" key) into a table with a clustered index? The above mentioned MSDN article states: The pages in the data chain and the rows in them are ordered on the value of the clustered index key. And Using Clustered Indexes for example states: For example, if a record is added to the table that is close to the beginning of the sequentially ordered list, any records in the table after that record will need to shift to allow the record to be inserted. Does this mean that if I insert a row with a very "low" key into a table that already contains a gazillion rows literally all rows are physically shifted on disk? I cannot believe that. This would take ages, no? Or is it rather (as I suspect) that there are two scenarios depending on how "full" the first data page is. A) If the page has enough free space to accommodate the record it is placed into the existing data page and data might be (physically) reordered within that page. B) If the page does not have enough free space for the record a new data page would be created (anywhere on the disk!) and "linked" to the front of the leaf level of the B-Tree? This would then mean the "physical order" of the data is restricted to the "page level" (i.e. within a data page) but not to the pages residing on consecutive blocks on the physical hard drive. The data pages are then just linked together in the correct order. Or formulated in an alternative way: if SQL Server needs to read the first N rows of a table that has a clustered index it can read data pages sequentially (following the links) but these pages are not (necessarily) block wise in sequence on disk (so the disk head has to move "randomly"). How close am I? :)

• How would you audit ASP.NET Membership tables, while recording what user made the changes?

  Using a trigger-based approach to audit logging, I am recording the history of changes made to tables in the database. The approach I'm using (with a static sql server login) to record which user made the change involves running a stored procedure at the outset of each database connection. The triggers use this username when recording the audit rows. (The triggers are provided by the product OmniAudit.) However, the ASP.NET Membership tables are accessed primarily through the Membership API. I need to pass in the current user's identity when the Membership API opens its database connection. I tried subclassing MembershipProvider but I cannot access the underlying database connection. It seems like this would be a common problem. Does anyone know of any hooks we can access when the ASP.NET Membership makes its database connection?

I started out using the tutorial at: http://blog.carduner.net/2010/01/26/django-piston-and-oauth/ I added a consumer to piston's admin interface with key and secret both set to "abcd" for test purposes. The urls are successfully wired-up and the oAuth provider is called. However, running my get request token tests with tripit (python get_request_token.py "http://127.0.0.1:8000/api" abcd abcd), I receive the following error: Invalid signature. Expected signature base string: GET&http%3A%2F%2F127.0.0.1%3A8000%2Fapi%2Foauth%2Frequest_token%2F&oauth_consumer_key%3Dabcd%26oauth_nonce%3D0c0bdded5b1afb8eddf94f7ccc672658%26oauth_signature_method%3DHMAC-SHA1%26oauth_timestamp%3D1275135410%26oauth_version%3D1.0 The problem seems to lie inside the _check_signature method of Piston's oauth.py, where valid_sig = signature_method.check_signature(oauth_request, consumer, token, signature) is returning false. I can't, however, work out how to get the signature validated. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to use the EWS API to access an Exchange server from a console program i'm writing. I've specified the type of exchange server i'm connecting to but when I try to execute the code i have, it gives me Error 1 The type 'System.TimeZoneInfo' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. C:\Documents and Settings\jsorensen\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\ConsoleApplication2\ConsoleApplication2\Program.cs 26 13 ConsoleApplication2 Does Microsoft Visual Studio Academic Edition not support TimeZoneInfo or is the version of .Net that XP can have not up-to date enough to work with the EWS API? • How to handle HTTPStatus Response 201 with AS3 / Flash / SWFUpload

  Hey all. I'm using SWFUpload on a Rails site to allow for MP3 Uploads direct to Sound Cloud. To avoid having to first upload a large file to my server and push to Sound Cloud, I'm hitting their API directly via SWFUpload, passing necessary OAuth token data. Everything works - EXCEPT - Flash can't handle the HTTP response code that Sound Cloud's API returns (201). This ALWAYS triggers an unhandled IO Error with Flash. Even though SWFUpload allows me to override that in the JS, it breaks any response data (the URI to the uploaded file). Does anyone know how I could somehow intercept the 201 code so that I can make it a 200 code for flash? I'm at a loss at how I can avoid this IO Error. I've tried try/catch statements around everything and have even recompiled SWFUpload to try new things to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm trying to use file_get_contentsO() to get the response from a server and this error was encountered. Could someone tell me what is the reason and how to fix it? The portion of the code is: $api = "http://smpp5.routesms.com:8080/bulksms/sendsms?username=$username&password=$password&source=$source&destination=$destin&dlr=$dlr&type=$type&message=$message"; $resp = file_get_contents($api); The server responded correctly while I pasted the url in the browser. I learned that this is caused by the server rejecting the client's HTTP version, but I have no idea why that is happening in my case. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance
