  • UITableViewCell is transparent when not supposed to be

    - by David Liu
    My UITableViewCell is being transparent when it's not supposed to be. My table view has a background color and it shows through the table cell, even though they're supposed to be opaque. I'm not sure why this is. Relevant code: UITableViewCell *cell = [table dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:emptyIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:emptyIdentifier] autorelease]; } cell.textLabel.text = @"Empty"; cell.textLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter; cell.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; return cell;

  • When my UIViewController accesses an NSArray in my AppDelegate from an IBAction it crashes the progr

    - by JasonClark
    I have a couple UIViewControllers that I am trying to access an array inside my AppDelegate. When I use an IBAction UIButton and in that method I access my AppDelegate my program dies silently. Nothing in output or the debugger, it just stops. If I run it several times I can see that it is failing to access the array properly. To investigate this problem I created a very basic app. In my AppDelegate.h I declared and set properties for the array #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @class MyViewController; @interface MyAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; MyViewController *viewController; NSArray *images; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *images; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWindow *window; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet MyViewController *viewController;` In the AppDelegate.m I synthesised and initialized the NSArray (Also made sure the images were added to the Resources folder). @synthesize images; - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { images = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"bamboo_nw" ofType:@"jpg"], ..... nil]; NSLog(@"init images size:%i",[images count]); [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; } In my UIViewController.h I added class, imported header file, declared, and set properties for my AppDelegate pointer. #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "MyAppDelegate.h" @class MyAppDelegate; @interface MyViewController : UIViewController { MyAppDelegate *mainDelegate; IBOutlet UIButton mybutton; } @property (nonatomic, retain) MyAppDelegate mainDelegate; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIButton *mybutton; -(IBAction) doSomething;` In my UIViewController.m I synthesize and assign my AppDelegate. I set up an IBAction that will log the same count of the NSArray from the AppDelegate. #import "MyViewController.h" #import "MyAppDelegate.h" @implementation MyViewController @synthesize mybutton; - (void)viewDidLoad { mainDelegate = (MyAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSLog(@"vdl images size:%i",[mainDelegate.images count]); [super viewDidLoad]; } -(IBAction) doSomething { NSLog(@"ds images size:%i",[mainDelegate.images count]); } I print the size of the NSArray in the AppDelegate when I create it, in the ViewController when I first assign my AppDelegate pointer, and then as a result of my IBAction. I find that everytime I hit the button the program dies. On the third time I hit the button, I saw that it ran my IBAction but printed my array size as 1 instead of 8. Am I missing something? Also, why don't I get stack traces or anything, the debugger just dies silently? Thanks in advance for any help! • Flash like animation editing and container format for OpenGL environment?

    - by tbarbe
    Are there ANY tools that lets an animator / designer create scripted animations that can export to an OpenGL compatible format -- that are similar to the timeline editing in Flash or After Effects? Does OpenGL ES have some kind of animation playback or container format? ( is there something similar to .swf for OpenGL? ) Im looking for something that lets a designer / animator do his work with a timeline and in a traditional animation environment... meanwhile still having integration with OpenGL.

  • loading custom view using loadNibNamed showing memory leaks

    - by user307550
    I have a number of custom table cells and views that I built using interface builder In interface builder, everything is set up similarly. There is a table cell and a couple other UILabels and a background image Object owner if the nib is NSObject Class for the table cell is the name of the class for my table cell Here is how I create the table cell in my code: SectionedSwitchTableCell *cell = nil; NSArray *nibs = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:kSectionedSwitchTableCellIdentifier owner:owner options:nil]; for(id currentObject in nibs) { if([currentObject isKindOfClass:[SectionedSwitchTableCell class]]) { cell = (SectionedSwitchTableCell *)currentObject; break; } } return cell; For my custom table headers I have this NSArray *nibs = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CustomTableHeader" owner:self options:nil]; for(id currentObject in nibs) { if([currentObject isKindOfClass:[CustomTableHeader class]]) { return header } } In my .h and .m files for the custom view, I have IBOutlet, @property set up for everything except for the background image UIImageView. Everything that has the IBOutlet and @property are also @synthesized and released in the .m file. Leaks is showing that I have memory leaks with CALayer when I create these custom view objects. Am I doing something wrong here when I create these custom view objects? I'm kind of tearing my hair out trying to figure out where these leaks are coming from. As a side note, I have a UIImageView background image defined in these custom views but I didn't define properties and IBOutlets in my .h and .m files. Defining them doesn't make a difference when I run it through Leaks but just wanted to confirm if I'm doing the right thing. Any input would be super helpful. Thanks :)

  • How to get the title and subtitle for a pin when we are implementing the MKAnnotation?

    - by wolverine
    I have implemented the MKAnnotation as below. I will put a lot of pins and the information for each of those pins are stored in an array. Each member of this array is an object whose properties will give the values for the title and subtitle of the pin. Each object corresponds to a pin. But how can I display these values for the pin when I click a pin?? @interface UserAnnotation : NSObject <MKAnnotation> { CLLocationCoordinate2D coordinate; NSString *title; NSString *subtitle; NSString *city; NSString *province; } @property (nonatomic, assign) CLLocationCoordinate2D coordinate; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *title; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *subtitle; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *city; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *province; -(id)initWithCoordinate:(CLLocationCoordinate2D)c; And .m is @implementation UserAnnotation @synthesize coordinate, title, subtitle, city, province; - (NSString *)title { return title; } - (NSString *)subtitle { return subtitle; } - (NSString *)city { return city; } - (NSString *)province { return province; } -(id)initWithCoordinate:(CLLocationCoordinate2D)c { coordinate=c; NSLog(@"%f,%f",c.latitude,c.longitude); return self; } @end

  • How i draw the graph including X- and Y-axis lines?

    - by Rajendra Bhole
    Hi, I want to make an application in which i want to make simple graph using NSObject class and using CGContext method. All lines should be displaying dynamically in X and Y-axis interval text also, i trying develop something like following code, CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(ctx, 2.0, 2.0, 2.0, 1.0); CGContextSetLineWidth(ctx, 2.0); //(number of lines) CGContextMoveToPoint(ctx, 30.0, 230.0); CGContextAddLineToPoint(ctx, 30.0, 440.0); //CGContextAddLineToPoint(ctx, 320.0, 420.0); //CGContextStrokePath(ctx); for(float x = 20.0; x <= 320.0; x++) { CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(ctx, 2.0, 2.0, 2.0, 1.0); CGContextMoveToPoint(ctx, x, 420.0); CGContextAddLineToPoint(ctx, x+45.0, 420.0); CGContextStrokePath(ctx); } How i develop using above functions? Thanks.

  • UIView Animation won't run transition

    - by dpelletier
    So, I've searched quite a bit for this and can't seem to find a solution. This code works: CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:context]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:5]; [c setCenter:CGPointMake(200, 200)]; [UIView commitAnimations]; This code doesn't: CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:context]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft forView:c cache:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:5]; [c exchangeSubviewAtIndex:0 withSubviewAtIndex:1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; And I know the call to exchangeSubViewAtIndex is working because if I remove it from the animation block it functions as expected. Anyone have any insight as to why this transition won't run? Something I need to import?

  • Getting "Location" header from NSHTTPURLResponse

    - by aspcartman
    Can't get "Location" header from response at all. Wireshark says that i've got one: Location: http://*/index.html#0;sid=865a84f0212a3a35d8e9d5f68398e535 But NSHTTPURLResponse *hr = (NSHTTPURLResponse*)response; NSDictionary *dict = [hr allHeaderFields]; NSLog(@"HEADERS : %@",[dict description]); Produces this: HEADERS : { Connection = "keep-alive"; "Content-Encoding" = gzip; "Content-Type" = "text/html"; Date = "Thu, 25 Mar 2010 08:12:08 GMT"; "Last-Modified" = "Sat, 29 Nov 2008 15:50:54 GMT"; Server = "nginx/0.7.59"; "Transfer-Encoding" = Identity; } No location anywhere. How to get it? I need this "sid" thing.

  • Get objc_exception_throw when setting cookie with ASIHTTPRequest

    - by TuanCM
    I got objc_exception_throw when trying to set cookies for a ASIHTTPRequest request. I tried both of these but it didn't work out. ASIHTTPRequest *request = [[ASIHTTPRequest alloc] initWithURL:url]; NSMutableDictionary *properties = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [properties setValue:@".google.com" forKey:@"Domain"]; [properties setValue:@"/" forKey:@"path"]; [properties setValue:@"1600000000" forKey:@"expires"]; NSHTTPCookie *cookie = [[NSHTTPCookie alloc] initWithProperties:properties]; [request setRequestCookies:[NSMutableArray arrayWithObject:cookie]]; or replacing initiating code for cookie with this one NSHTTPCookie *cookie = [[NSHTTPCookie alloc] init]; When I commented out the following line, everything worked fine. [request setRequestCookies:[NSMutableArray arrayWithObject:cookie]]; Can you guys tell me what the problem here!

  • CATransaction: Layer Changes But Does Not Animate

    - by macinjosh
    I'm trying to animate part of UI in an iPad app when the user taps a button. I have this code in my action method. It works in the sense that the UI changes how I expect but it does not animate the changes. It simply immediately changes. I must be missing something: - (IBAction)someAction:(id)sender { UIViewController *aViewController = <# Get an existing UIViewController #>; UIView *viewToAnimate = aViewController.view; CALayer *layerToAnimate = viewToAnimate.layer; [CATransaction begin]; [CATransaction setAnimationDuration:1.0f]; CATransform3D rotateTransform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(0.3, 0, 0, 1); CATransform3D scaleTransform = CATransform3DMakeScale(0.10, 0.10, 0.10); CATransform3D positionTransform = CATransform3DMakeTranslation(24, 423, 0); CATransform3D combinedTransform = CATransform3DConcat(rotateTransform, scaleTransform); combinedTransform = CATransform3DConcat(combinedTransform, positionTransform); layerToAnimate.transform = combinedTransform; [CATransaction commit]; // rest of method... } I've tried simplifying the animation to just change the opacity (for example) and it still will not animate. The opacity just changes instantly. That leads me to believe something is not setup properly. Any clues would be helpful!

  • CALayer rotation on Y axis ignores z position

    - by Rafa
    Hi, i have some CALayers one on top of the other with different z-values. the z-values are sequential (1,2,3 ...). i wrote some code that changes the y-rotation of a CALayer when i click on it. the y-rotations changes to -30.f the problem is that when i click on a CALayer it rotates and goes behind the CALayers that are actually beneath it (by z-value ordering). i understand that changing the y-rotation by -30.f actually takes the CALayer back in a sense. but shouldn't it consider the z-value as the index of the CALayer in the container and make sure it stays on top of lower z-values ?

  • How to delete table rows programmatically?

    - by Donal O'Danachair
    I have a table which I am manipulating with a tableViewController (no nib, and the controller is creating the table behind the scenes) I'm trying to delete a row from the table based on its row number; I can delete it from the array I use to create the cell in cellForRowAtIndexPath, but I get a strange error if I try to do the following, which is the same code as in tableView:commitEditingStyle:forRowAtIndexPath: where it works fine NSIndexPath *indexPath = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:i+1 inSection:1] [self.tableView deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:indexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; It gives an error -[_WebSafeForwarder forwardInvocation:] and then jumps out of the method but does not crash the app Can anyone help?

  • Plist won't copy to documents directory

    - by John
    I have a plist file in my resources group in xcode. I am trying to copy this into my documents directory on app launch. I am using the following code (taken from a sqlite tutorial): BOOL success; NSError *error; NSFileManager *fileManager = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *filePath = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingString:@"ActiveFeedsPlist.plist"]; success = [fileManager fileExistsAtPath:filePath]; if (success) return; NSString *path = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingFormat:@"ActiveFeedsPlist.plist"]; success = [fileManager copyItemAtPath:path toPath:filePath error:&error]; if (!success) { NSAssert1(0, @"Failed to copy Plist. Error %@", [error localizedDescription]); } I am given the error " * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Failed to copy Plist. Error Operation could not be completed. No such file or directory'" in the console however. Any idea what is wrong? Thanks

  • Extend TTPhotoViewController with custom TTPhotoView

    - by ggould75
    I have successfully integrated the three20 framework in my project, and I have extended the TTPhotoViewController to add some further functionality. Now I need to add some subviews to the TTPhotoView loaded by the TTPhotoViewController. In particular I would like to add that subviews after every TTPhotoView as been loaded. These subviews represents sensible area over the image so they should scale proportionally with the image. The user can tap a subview to get extra info about the image. I don't know how to implement this behavior. Should I extend the TTPhotoView and make sure that the TTPhotoViewController use this extended version instead of its TTPhotoView? Could someone point me to the right direction? Thank you

  • XCode sqlite3 - SELECT always return SQLITE_DONE

    - by user573633
    Hi developers.... a noob here asking for help after a day of head-banging.... I am working on an app with sqlite3 database with one database and two tables. I have now come to a step where I want to select from the table with an argument. The code is here: -(NSMutableArray*) getGroupsPeopleWhoseGroupName:(NSString*)gn;{ NSMutableArray *groupedPeopleArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; const char *sql = "SELECT * FROM Contacts WHERE groupName='?'"; @try { NSArray * paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory,NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *docsDir = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *theDBPath = [docsDir stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"ContactBook.sqlite"]; if (!(sqlite3_open([theDBPath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK)) { NSLog(@"An error opening database."); } sqlite3_stmt *st; NSLog(@"debug004 - sqlite3_stmt success."); if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &st, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Error, failed to prepare statement."); } //DB is ready for accessing, now start getting all the info. while (sqlite3_step(st) == SQLITE_ROW) { MyContacts * aContact = [[MyContacts alloc] init]; //get contactID from DB. aContact.contactID = sqlite3_column_int(st, 0); if (sqlite3_column_text(st, 1) != NULL) { aContact.firstName = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *) sqlite3_column_text(st, 1)]; } else { aContact.firstName = @""; } // here retrieve other columns data .... //store these info retrieved into the newly created array. [groupedPeopleArray addObject:aContact]; [aContact release]; } if(sqlite3_finalize(st) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Failed to finalize data statement."); } if (sqlite3_close(database) != SQLITE_OK) { NSLog(@"Failed to close database."); } } @catch (NSException *e) { NSLog(@"An exception occurred: %@", [e reason]); return nil; } return groupedPeopleArray;} MyContacts is the class where I put up all the record variables. My problem is sqlite3_step(st) always return SQLITE_DONE, so that it i can never get myContacts. (i verified this by checking the return value). What am I doing wrong here? Many thanks in advance!

  • Swapping UIImages causing 'unrecognized selector sent to instance' ?

    - by user158103
    Error: [__NSCFDate drawAtPoint:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xd251e0 Termininating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException' Scenario: for the most part this works. But I notice this error, even on the simulator, when I swapping UIImages, slowly, but consistently. For example, I have a retained reference to a UIImage that im drawing. By the click of a picker control I am changing the face image (this occurs in another view-controller). I can consistently recreate this error by continuously changing the faces. It usually crashes at about the 4th swap or more. My theory: It's not loading the image, therefore the image reference is nil. I know ive read a bit about UIImage being cached, so I wouldnt think im running out of memory. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • How to insert/update multiple record into SQLite database in a single query.

    - by TuanCM
    Hi Guy. Is it possible to insert/update multiple record in SQLite database using EGODatabase wrapper. If I'm correct I think we can do it with FMDatabase by wrapping it between [db beginTransaction] and [db commit]. I wonder if we can do the same thing by using EGODatabase. Following is the code sample from FMDatabase project: [db beginTransaction]; i = 0; while (i++ < 20) { [db executeUpdate:@"insert into test (a, b, c, d, e) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)" , @"hi again'", // look! I put in a ', and I'm not escaping it! [NSString stringWithFormat:@"number %d", i], [NSNumber numberWithInt:i], [NSDate date], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:2.2f]]; } [db commit];
