  • Including different code for other home screen replacement screens

    - by radicam2
I have put together a Skin for OpenHome but have since ran across AHome code for their IPhone theme and was wondering that if I included for AHome their Dock_Bg or widget_drawer among other things which is not on OpenHome that the Launcher for the respective screen replacement would just call the items it uses.I want to keep the mb as low as I can but reach more handsets.I can just make seperate ones but see many that include even Freshface as well as OpenHome and AHome.

    - by George Edison
I have a script that animates an element as follows: var item_height = $('#item').height(); $('#item').height(0); $('#item').animate({ height: item_height }); Now suppose the animation needs to be stopped before it is complete: $('#item').stop(); How can I get the end value of the animation? (The total height of the element when the animation would have been complete)

  • More efficient way to update multiple elements in javascript and/or jquery?

    - by Seiverence
Say I have 6 divs with ID "#first", ""#second" ... "#sixth". Say if I wanted to execute functions on each of those divs, I would set up an array that contains each of the names of the divs I want to update as an element in the array of strings. ["first", "second", "third"] that I want to update. If I wanted to apply I function, I set up a for loop that iterates through each element in the array and say if I wanted to change the background color to red: function updateAllDivsInTheList() { for(var i = 0; i < array.size; i++) $("#"+array[i]).changeCssFunction(); } } Whenever I create a new div, i would add it to the array. The issue is, if I have a large number of divs that need to get updated, say if I wanted to update 1000 out of 1200 divs, it may be a pain/performance tank to have to sequentially iterate through every single element in the array. Is there some alternative more efficient way of updating multiple divs without having to sequentially iterate through every element in an array, maybe with some other more efficient data structure besides array? Or is what I am doing the most efficient way to do it? If can provide some example, that would be great.

  • jquery ajax sucess - possible to return JSON instead of string?

    - by Haroldo
    To return an error from a $.ajax call, there's gotta be a better way than echoing an error in the ajax.php file and then trimming it! this seems very clumsy and in-robust: success: function(e){ var e = trim(e); if(e == 'SUCCESS') {alert('your password has been changed!');} if(e == 'ERROR1') {alert('please fill in all inputs!');} if(e == 'ERROR2') {alert('password incorrect!');} if(e == 'ERROR3') {alert('change failed!');} } what should i be doing instead?!

  • jQuery does not execute on dynamically loaded content,, even on a click events.

    - by sxv
I have two document.ready functions. The first loads content into div#header. The second one performs a hide function and then a toggle function on the newly loaded content. I am not sure if this is a queueing issue or something, but not even the alert() below is executed when I click the loaded content. Thanks. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#header").load("/documents/collegeradioheader.txt"); }); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $(".hideme").hide(); $(".slick-toggle").click(function() { alert('hi'); $(this).parent().next('div').slideToggle('fast'); .siblings('div:visible').slideUp('fast'); }); }); </script>

  • Are there any good Javascript/Jquery thumbnail script equivalents to TimThimb (PHP)?

    - by Mark
For those unaware of TimThumb, it will take any image, of any size or dimension and create a thumbnail on the fly to any desired size. The beauty of it is that it really works on any dimension you feed it through a combination of either resizing the image, cropping or zoom cropping the image. Ive been searching for jscript equvalents but they either require the user to actually mask out the thumbs manually (looking for a script that automatically does it to images) or the scripts can't handle images in a different aspect ratio. Thanks for any leads on this!

  • jQuery load a page on click then automatically load a div.

    - by kylex
I am wanting to redirect a page on click, and then load specified content into on of those pages div. How do I go about doing this? For example: <div id="redirect">Click here to go to new page</div> When the new page loads, there will be a div with id = content that needs to have content automatically loaded based on data sent from the redirect id on the previous page.

  • Iterating Through N Level Children

    - by bobber205
This seems like something neat that might be "built into" jQuery but I think it's still worth asking. I have a problem where that can easily be solved by iterating through all the children of a element. I've recently discovered I need to account for the cases where I would need to do a level or two deeper than the "1 level" (just calling .children() once) I am currently doing. jQuery.each(divToLookAt.children(), function(index, element) { //do stuff } ); This is what I'm current doing. To go a second layer deep, I run another loop after doing stuff code for each element. jQuery.each(divToLookAt.children(), function(index, element) { //do stuff jQuery.each(jQuery(element).children(), function(indexLevelTwo, elementLevelTwo) { //do stuff } ); } ); If I want to go yet another level deep, I have to do this all over again. This is clearly not good. I'd love to declare a "level" variable and then have it all take care of. Anyone have any ideas for a clean efficient jQueryish solution? Thanks!

  • Jump to an anchor link on function complete in jQuery?

    - by nick92675
I have a simple slidetoggle function that opens onclick. What I'd like to do is jump the user down to the bottom of the page following the opened div. Basically, wait for the slidetoggle to complete - then imagine clicking my jump link to pull the viewport down. Here's my code. $('#clickme').click(function() { $('#form-area').slideToggle('slow', function() { // Animation complete // what can i put here that's like my standard jumpto? }); }); <a href="#form-bottom" id="clickme">Click here</a> <div class="main" id="form-area" > Stuff </div> <a name="form-bottom"></a>

  • What's the best way to display a blown-up image using minimal JQuery?

    - by TkTech
The Goal: On mouseover (or :hover), enlarge the preview image by about 400% and display it in the center of the page Remove the preview when the mouse leaves The Problem: Solutions like FancyBox are too bloated in FancyBox's case it ignores width and height for image elements, which makes it useless Most of these "lightboxes" steal focus when they're called Really, I'm just looking for a simple, efficient solution. Oops - StackOverflow won't let me post images yet, mockup - http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/7649/idae.png

  • Using jQuery .find() with multiple conditions at the same time?

    - by fuzzybabybunny
I know that there are other ways of grabbing radio button values, but I want to know how to do this with .find(). I only want to log the value of the selected radio button, so it requires finding by two conditions at the same time: The button with name=area The button with selected=selected <div class="radio"> <label> <input class="track-order-change" type="radio" name="area" id="area1" value="area1" checked="checked"> Area 1 </label> </div> <div class="radio"> <label> <input class="track-order-change" type="radio" name="area" id="area2" value="area2"> Area 2 </label> </div> <div class="radio"> <label> <input class="track-order-change" type="radio" name="area" id="area3" value="area3"> Area 3 </label> </div> When anything with the class track-order-change changes, it will run the function UpdateOrderSubmission. $('.track-order-change').on('change', function() { updateOrderSubmission() }); I want the updateOrderSubmission function to console log the value of the radio button that is selected. var updateOrderSubmission = function() { var orderSubmission = { area: $('#submit-initial-form').find('[name=area],[checked=checked]').this.val() } console.log(orderSubmission) }; The code above doesn't work. How do I grab the value of the selected radio button? I need to do .find() with two conditions (name and checked), not just one condition.

  • Android Timer update UI between multiple tasks

    - by Rilcon42
    I have tried multiple ways to have a single persistent timer update the ui in multiple activities, and nothing seems to work. I have tried an AsyncTask, a Handler, and a CountDownTimer. The code below does not execute the first Log.i statement.... Is there a better way to start the timer (which must be called from another class) in Main (which is the only persistent class)? public static void MainLawTimer() { MainActivity.lawTimer = new CountDownTimer(MainActivity.timeLeft, 1000) { public void onTick(long millisUntilFinished) { Log.i("aaa","Timer running. Time left: "+MainActivity.timeLeft); MainActivity.timeLeft--; if(MainActivity.timeLeft<=0) { //do stuff } else { //call method in another class } }

  • jQuery plugins: How can I stop divs from overlapping?

    - by anir
I'm using Masonry and Embedly plugin to display embedded content, I've put together an example in jsfiddle.net/anir/pBtbb/3/ It appears the Masonry plugin loads first and it causes the overlapping problem (they only show correctly when you resize the result window) I've read that I could use callback functions or retrigger Masonry once embedly has finished rendering content, but I don't know how to do it. Can you help me? Is there any other solution to fix this?

  • Javascript, jQuery - how signed actions to just created object?

    - by sebap123
I am trying to make simple list with ability to add and delete elements. For now I am working on adding and performing a simple action on each of list elements object (existing and added). Unfortunately I have met some difficulties with that. I am able to modify objects that are created at the beginning, but not one added during "webpage working". First of all my idea was to add AJAX to this, but I don't think it is the easiest way. I think that some time ago (I don't remember where) I read how to make this work, but now I don't know. I would be really glad if someone would help me with this or at least give a link to good explanation of this. There is what I have done so far (well this is mostly just a scratch, but the main idea is in it): http://jsfiddle.net/sebap123/pAZ7H/ Thank you for all responses.
