• Saving PHP Table as CSV

  I have been looking everywhere for a way to do this. There are a lot of people that have asked the questions but when I try myself i cant seem to get it to work. Often I get the format correct but it inputs the information into a new page instead of saving it. I did manage to get one to work for google chrome but when i ran it in internet explorer it didnt work. I have a table being created from a MYSQL query and i would like the table to be able to be saved as a CSV. Could anyone help me out?

• Program output to file in Java (and reading it again)

  I have a large main method in an IO class which creates objects from four different classes in my program (which all use one another to some extent). My main method takes all info in using a scanner, from the console window, and uses this info to call the constructors and methods in the other classes. As this is my first full program in Java I have been focussed on making the main method work via the console, without properly considering file input and output. I cannot see an easy way of making that work now. Ideally what I require is some way of writing everything I input to the console while running the main method to a file, in a format that can be read again and inputed back through the main method? I have refrained from posting the main method as it is 250+ lines long, but will post any relevant parts of it if required. Any help appreciated

• PHP --> SQL Server + Excel file upload from a specific row

  I have a requirement in which, i need to upload an excel file into SQL Server database. It is working well till this point. But sometimes i am getting excel file in such a way, that the first 2 rows and columns are empty rows. That is not even fixed every time. so the format of the table after upload is not as expected. It is assigning F1, F2 as column names for the table in SQL Server. It varies from file to file. I want to program it in such away so that the user can enter the row number and the column number from where the actual data is starting. So that while upload it should from line 3 and column 2. I don't know how to specify that row and column while uploading. Please help me to solve the same.

  I'm thinking about encrypting MP3s in a database, so that when user is downloading them with his software desktop player, only the software can decrypt them. This part is not a problem. The problem is I don't want a user to upload an mp3 to the database, then check which changes have been made to the file so he can reverse-engineer the file or at least see which algorithm is used to encrypt the files. So, user uploads MP3-A, then it becomes MP3-B because it has been modified, and I encrypt it to MP3-C. And when decrypted, it sounds 99.99% like MP3-A. I know MP3 format is lossy, but I wonder if there's a way to convert audio with limited loss, or if I need to forget it right now.

  I have few small basic problems : How to format : int i = 456; to give output : ""00000456" ? I've tried %08d but it's not working. Next thing is a problem with conversion and then formatting. I have side and height of triangle, let's say int's 4,7, and 7 is the height. From formula for field we know that F=1/2(a*h). So how to get F as float, with precision up to 10 places ? float f = a*h; works fine, but multiplying it by 0.5 gives error and by 1/2 returns 0.

  Im setting up a web form, and I'm trying to have it where visitors can paste their resumes into a text area. Then I want to email the info using php mail(). But the resume info is just stored in the variable as one long string with no formatting. Is there a way I can send the pasted resume text to the client in the resume format? Maintaining all the line breaks and stuff? He wants to avoid having people upload resumes.

I do not want to use Lame because it is too big while no programmer can answer a simple question on it (share simple but easily downloadable and readable project containing only needed 2 simple functions... The dialog box follows the mouse On click the dialog box "stops" and displays a link What I want to achieve When a table cell is hovered over the title of the dialog box shows the date e.g "Mon 8th Oct 2012" When a table cell is hovered over the html of the dialog box shows the events for that day in list format (there is code that succesfully retrieves the first row in function getSelectedDates() ) function getSelectedDates() needs to be called in the hover event - showing multiple events for that date in the dialog box I hope that if we can display the date being hovered over in the title of the dialog then we can use the same information to retrieve the rows from the database to populate the html of the dialog for that day

The most complex one contains superset of all containers used in all other one thus to avoid creating multiple templates I created the most complex one in following format some layout stuff (div and all) defining nested insert for each container and content. Now in client template based on what is needed I turn off container which is not needed as else if container is needed, just define content as doSomething Please let me know if you guys see any issues with this approach, any potential problem or alternate approach for similar scenario. thanks a lot.   Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this?   In cake php I can grab a model's fields by using the find() method. What if I wish to apply a transformation function to the fields? Is there a way to directly accomplish this task? Suppose I have a model called RaceTime with the fields racerId and timeMillis RaceTime +------------+ | Field | +------------+ | id | | racerId | | timeMillis | +------------+ timeMillis is an int specifying how long the race took in milliseconds. Obviously saying a race took 15651 milliseconds isn't very useful to a human reader, and I would wish to convert this to a human readable format. Is there a way to accomplish this directly in find()? Or is the only option to loop through the results after find() finishes?

• How to override <base> tag without removing the tag itself?

  I'm trying to add some internal links(in the format of a content table, to be able to facilitate webpage navigation) to this site in which a tag is used. Now obviously due to the base tag, every other relative tag will be relative to the base tag href. But in order for me to create this internal content table with the links pointing to different parts of the specific page, i need to get the default URL (before base tag is in effect) so the internal links can work properly. Spreadsheet format: Variable range = # of days to sum Date range = listed in row 1, 1 day per cell (example A1=1/1/10, B1=1/2/10, C1=1/3/10....) I end up writing Debug.WriteLine(string.Format("# entries {0} for connection {1}", countOfEntries, connection)); which is really awkward. Does the CLR have a class deriving from TextWriter that "wraps" System.Debug, or should I roll my own?

• Python - read numbers from text file and put into list

  So like the title says im starting to learn some python and im having trouble picking up on this technique. What I need to accomplish is to read in some numbers and store them in a list. The text file looks like the following: 0 0 3 50 50 100 4 20 Basically these are coordinates and directions to be used for python's turtle to make shapes. I got that part down the only problem is getting them in a correct format. So what I can not figure out is how to get those numbers from the file into [ [0, 0, 3, 50], [50, 100, 4, 20] ] A list, with each four coordinates being a list in that one big list.   The use case is simple. I allow users to enter in an expiration field which needs to be between 1 and 15 into a form. The model takes that number and converts it into a datetime (such as adding 15 days from today) and stores it in the database. What's the correct way to actually validate that though? Do I validate against the datetime format that gets persisted in the database or the select box (1..15) that the user gets to pick through the form? I want to be able to validate that the user is putting in 1..15.. How is this done with ActiveRecord validation in Rails 2.3.5?
