  • jQuery slideDown() Makes Everything in Wrapper Shift

    - by Ben
    Hello everyone, I am currently creating a simple menu where there are several names of services and a user can click on one and jQuery will show it's corresponding paragraph describing it below it. My jQuery code is fine and does exactly what I want, however, I have one bug I have yet to iron out. Whenever I click one of these headings and it's description displays, everything in the wrapper for the page shifts to the left about 7 pixels in Firefox, it does the same thing is Google Chrome however I have not measured the amout but I am sure it is irrelevant. Anyways, I am using the slideToggle() command to show the hidden parragraph. I assume this is occuring because when the slideDown occurs it is somehow changing the width of everything and the "margin: 0 auto;" setting for the wrapper rule in my css is compensating for this change. Does anyone have any way I can remedy this problem? I have tried several other fixes I've found around the internet but to no avail. Here is what my code looks like, I put it on jsFiddle to make it easier to view: http://jsfiddle.net/vcH7m/ Feel free to edit it there if you like, or post what needs to be fixed here. Whatever is more convenient. Thank you very much for the help!

    I have a sliding panel and on the last element I want the animation to stop i've tried using the .is(':last') and it doesn't stop. here is my code. the current var is set to the first element when the form loads. It animates to the left and keeps animating when you click the next button i just want to stop it on the last element jQuery('.wikiform .navigation input[name^=Next]').click(function () { if (current.is(':last')) return; jQuery('.wikiform .wizard').animate({ marginLeft: '-=' + current.width() + "px" }, 750); current = current.next();}); <div id="formView1" class="wikiform"> <div class="wizard"> <div id="view1" class="view"> <div class="form"> Content 1 </div> </div> <div id="view2" class="view"> <div class="form"> Content 2 </div> </div> </div> <div class="navigation"> <input type="button" name="Back" value=" Back " /> <input type="button" name="Next " class="Next" value=" Next " /> <input type="button" name="Cancel" value="Cancel" /> </div> </div>

  • How to use JSF h:messages better?

    - by gurupriyan.e
    My Objective is to use h:messages to convey user - error and confirmation messages.The CSS styles to show these two different messages are different, In fact I would like to use an image beside the confirmation message. for Eg: <tr> <td><img/></td><td><h:msg></td> </td>. So I tried to add messages to the Faces Context based on 2 different client ids <tr> <td height="5"> <h:messages style="color:darkred" id="error_message" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="89%" class="InfoMsg" align="center"> <h:messages id="confirm_message" /> </td> </tr> and in the java layer FacesMessage facesMessage = new FacesMessage(Constants.saveMessageConfirm); FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(Constants.STATIC_CONFIRM_MSG_CLIENT_ID, facesMessage); But, even if i add messages to client Id confirm_message - and only to confirm_message - and not to error_message - The message is shown twice in 2 different styles (refer the HTML above) 2 Questions : 1) What is the problem here? 2) If I want to show the image inside a td in the second tr and conditionaly show that second tr when confirm messages are present - what is the best way? Thanks,

  • Image jQuery scroller in a container. (like facebook cropper) can't get values of position.

    - by Stefan
    Hey all. Having a reallllll mind pain. I have a php image uploader which is all good and sotring the file and the jquery ajax is returning the image in an ammended html div with a div set up like this: #crop-holder { width:80px; height:80px; margin:10px 10px 20px 10px; border:1px #c0c0c0 solid; overflow:hidden; cursor:move; } The image is viewing fine and I am using the jquery scrollview plugin: http://code.google.com/p/jquery-scrollview/ I have tried adding a few lines to the plugin to store variables of scrollTop and Left and then replacing two hidden input values with x and y in my page. And then on the returned ajax html in the div I am trying to on a button click (for example) retrieve the values of the two hidden inputs.... Heres what i added to the plugin (i'm no js expert!): .mouseout(function(){ var _m = this.m; var lasty = _m.scrollTop(); getElementById("ycord").value = lasty; var lastx = _m.scrollLeft(); getElementById("xcord").value = lastx; self.stopgrab(); }) Still no luck!! How can I get the scrollTop and scrollLeft and successfully prepare them for sending onto another php script!? Thanks:) stefpretty

  • Two floating div's, one underneath. works in every browser except IE

    - by Veltar
    So I have an html-structure that looks like this: <div id="contact-wrapper"> <div> <h4>België</h4> <p>Tuinwijklaan 79<br /> 9000 Gent<br /> Tel. 0468/115967<br /> [email protected]<br /> </p> </div> <div> <h4>Nederland</h4> <p>Kerkstraat 423-C<br /> 1017 HX Amsterdam<br /> Tel: +32 468 11 59 67<br /> [email protected] </p> </div><br /> <a id="link-contact" href="#">Contacteer ons</a> </div> The two div's are displayed next to each other, and the link under it, like this: But in ie9 it shows like this: This is my css for the divs: footer div#contact-wrapper, footer h1 { float: left; } footer div#contact-wrapper div { margin: 16px 0px 0px 45px; float: left; } footer div#contact-wrapper div:first-of-type { padding-right: 30px; margin-left: 60px; border-right: 1px dashed #a3b0b9; } footer div#contact-wrapper a#link-contact { display: inline-block; background: #ffffff url('../img/contact-arrow.gif') no-repeat 95% center; border: 4px solid #bbc2c7; font-size: 12px; color: #bbc2c7; margin: 5px 0px 0px 60px; padding: 3px 0px 3px 5px; width: 150px; }

  • tbody td borders not scrolling with content in tbody overflow:auto;

    - by tester
    I am unable to get the borders of these td's to follow their rows as I scroll through this overflow:auto; . Any ideas on a fix? Note: Setting table-layout:fixed or making rows display:block isn't an option as the rows will lose their fluidity.. You can see the issue in the latest Firefox, so I assume it's messed up elsewhere. Here is a test I setup (scroll to the bottom for the demo): http://www.webdevout.net/test?01y HTML: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>Test</title> </head> <body> <table> <thead><th>One</th><th>Two</th><th>Three</th></thead> <tbody> <tr><td>Item</td><td>Item</td><td>Item</td></tr> <tr><td>Item</td><td>Item</td><td>Item</td></tr> <tr><td>Item</td><td>Item</td><td>Item</td></tr> <tr><td>Item</td><td>Item</td><td>Item</td></tr> </tbody> </table> </body> </html> CSS: table {width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;} tbody {height:200px;overflow:auto;} td {border-bottom:1px solid #f00;}

  • Telerik ASP.NET MVC2 Grid Delete Function with compound key.

When I delete a row I get only the first one: public ActionResult DeleteItemGridAjax(int OrderID, string ItemID) Why is it happens and how can I get the ItemId value of the deleted row ? • Why does my DIV clip its child DIV when jQuery moves it in IE?

    - by Ben Saufley
    I have two divs, both with position:absolute;, one inside the other. The parent isn't in a place where it can be set as position:relative without an extra layer of complexity (there are a lot of other elements around it that I'd have to account for to put it where it needs to be, which is at the very top of the page, over everything). The child element is made to stick off the bottom of the parent. In Chrome, Safari, Firefox, it all works splendidly. In IE, it works until jQuery moves the parent element - at which point the parent element clips the child, so you can barely see the top of the child. I feel like I've read about this, about IE clipping child elements, but I can't seem to find an answer that applies to my case. It's pretty simple, basically: <div id="parent" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;"> [content] <div id="tab" style="position:absolute;bottom:-30px;left:0;width:64px;height:32px;background-image:(...);"></div> </div> <script> $(document).ready( function() { $("#tab").click(function() { $("#parent").animate({"top":"-50px"},300); }); }); </script>

  • How to set a TCustomControl's Parent In Create

    - by Bill
    When we create a component as a custom control and the control is dropped on a panel the control always appears on the form rather than the containing control. How do you set the parent of the custom control in Create so that when the button is dropped on panel the buttons parent is the panel? TGlassButton = class(TCustomControl) ... public { Public declarations } constructor Create(AOwner: TComponent); override; ... constructor TGlassButton.Create(AOwner: TComponent); begin inherited; ??????????? inherited Create(AOwner); ???????????? Parent := TWinControl( AComponent ); ?????????????? ... end; The problem is designtime creation not runtime. This works perfectly: procedure TForm10.FormCreate(Sender: TObject); begin GlassButton0 := TGlassButton.Create( Panel1 ); GlassButton0.Parent := Panel1; GlassButton0.Left := 20; GlassButton0.Top := 6; GlassButton0.Width := 150; GlassButton0.Height := 25; GlassButton0.Caption := 'Created At RunTime'; end;

  • IE textarea wrap bug?

    - by user2227033
    It seems that IE starting from IE7 to IE10 wraps text in the textarea control incorrectly when using \n (or \r\n - doesn't matter - results are the same). Is this a bug in IE or they treat the html standard differently than other browsers - who is right? I have defined: <textarea id="TextArea1" runat="server" style="width: 190px; height: 390px; white-space: normal; word-wrap: normal; overflow: scroll" ></textarea> When I try to add long string like "VeryLongStringEndingWithNewLine\n" by using JavaScript code (obj.value += text;) the text is shown in one line with scroll (this is ok) but added with an additional empty line (\r\n) - why? When I try to add short string like "Short\n" multiple times, again via JavaScript code the text is on the same line (should be on the separate lines because normal wrapping should be applied). Moreover when I do postback then all \r\n's are replaced with spaces (why?) and then text parsed correctly (assuming if I used spaces instead of crlf normal wraping with space only wraps when does not fit in the area). When using FF or Chrome same control behaves correctly - long lines are shown without an additional empty next line, short lines are on the different lines, no replacement with spaces when doing postback. I know I could probably use other options or white space characters, but I feel that above is not correct about IE. Any comments? Mindaugas

  • Issue displaying a local image from XAML

    - by Flack
    Hello, I have the below simple xaml: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <Image Source="happyface.jpg"/> </Grid> </Window> happyface.jpg is included in the project and its Build Action is set to "Content" and Copy To Ouptput Directory is set to "Copy Always". When looking at the app through the VS designer, everything is ok and I see the image. However, when I run the app, no image is displayed. I see the image is copied to the out out directory. If I put in the entire path as the source (C:\SANDBOX\WpfApplication1\WpfApplication1\bin\Debug") it works. Any ideas as to why the image is not displayed when I run the app? I read about pack URIs but thought that to just simply reference a loose image in the current directory, I can just use the image name. Thank you.

  • facebook comments ajax

    - by Shunsho
    I have a function that load a jquery ui accordion (differents accordions based on different id) When I click on the tab titled "Facebook Comments" I do: $("#myaccordion").bind('accordionchange', function(event, ui) { id = $("#myaccordion").data('id'); switch (ui.newHeader.text()) { case "Facebook Comments": displayFb(id); break; } }); The "displayFB" function is: function displayFb(id){ $.get('/fbcomments/' + id, function(data) { $("#facecomm").append(data); }); } Where www.myweb.com/fbcomments/id is: <div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/es_ES/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script> <div class="fb-comments" data-href="<?php echo '/fbcomments/'.$id ?>" data-num-posts="10" data-width="220"></div> When I load the homepage, then choose an accordion, then open a Facebook Comments, it works perfect. If I reload the page and choose another accordion, work perfect again. The problem is when I choose another accordion or the same again without reload the whole page. The accordions loads very well, all the data on them (some tabs of images, text, videos, etc), but the facebook comments don't appear. I tried: loading the #fb-root and facebook comment <script> on the main layout....doesn't work. adding FB.XFBML.parse(); into displayFB function....doesn't work adding FB.XFBML.parse(); into a $(document).ready(function(){} ...doesn't work. Thank you for reading and try to help!!

  • Loading data from file to Vector structure

    - by owca
    I'm trying to parse through fixed-width formatted file extracting x,y values of points from it, and then storing them in int[] array inside a Vector. Text file looks as follows : 0006 0015 0125 0047 0250 0131 That's the code : Vector<int[]> vc = new Vector<int[]>(); try { BufferedReader file = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("myfile.txt")); String s; int[] vec = new int[2]; while ((s = file.readLine()) != null) { vec[0] = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(0, 4).trim()); vec[1] = Integer.parseInt(s.substring(5, 8).trim()); vc.add(vec); } file.close(); } catch (IOException e) { } for(int i=0; i<vc.size(); i++){ for(int j=0; j<2; j++){ System.out.println(vc.elementAt(i)[j]); } } But the output shows only last line. 250 131 250 131 250 131 Should I somehow use Vector.nextElement() here to get all my data ?

  • How can I change jtable height at runtime

    - by wniroshan
    I hava a JFrame with multiple JPanels of similar width aligned one below other. I use one of these JPanels to display a JTable which is the last JPanel of the lot. This JPanel has a JScrollpane as a child component. This is where I try to add my table dynamically. Initial height of this JScrollpane is set to 40. I designed above template using Netbeans 6.8 Now I'm trying to add the table to the JPanel. When a button is pressed below code snippet is called. The class which includes this code extends javax.swing.JFrame class. I am expecting below code would adjust table height according to the row count and display the table. SearchTable = new JTable(RowData, DisplayNames) { @Override public boolean isCellEditable(int rowIndex, int vColIndex) { return false; } }; // if row count is less than 10 then display all the rows without a scroll bar if (SearchTable.getRowCount() < 10) { pnl_tblpanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(625, SearchTable.getRowHeight() * (SearchTable.getRowCount() + 4))); scr_tblholder.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(625, SearchTable.getRowHeight() * (SearchTable.getRowCount() + 4))); } else {// if row count is more than 10 display first 10 rows and add a scroll bar pnl_tblpanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(625, SearchTable.getRowHeight() * (10 + 2))); scr_tblholder.setAutoscrolls(true); } //pnl_tblpanel.add(scr_tblholder); scr_tblholder.setViewportView(SearchTable); //pnl_tblpanel.repaint(); pnl_tblpanel.validate(); this.validate(); //this.repaint(); pnl_tblpanel.setVisible(true); this.pack(); The table displays, but the table height is not changed according to the row count. It stays its default value. I have been trying many combinations of validate and repaint but nothing worked. (More in desperation) Can anyone shed some light on this Thank you

  • Image Resizing and Compression

    - by GSTAR
    Hi guys, I'm implementing an image upload facility for my website. The uploading facility is complete but what I'm working on at the moment is manipulating the images. For this task I am using PHPThumb (http://phpthumb.gxdlabs.com). Anyway as I go along I'm coming across potential issues, to do with resizing and compression. Basically I want to acheive the following results: The ideal image dimensions are: 800px width, 600px height. If an uploaded image exceeds either of these dimensions, it will need be resized to meet the requirements. Otherwise, leave as it is. The ideal file size is 200kb. If an uploaded image exceeds this then it will need to be compressed to meet this requirement. Otherwise, leave as it is. So in a nutshell: 1) Check the dimensions, resize if required. 2) Check the filesize, compress if required. Has anybody done anything like this / could you give me some pointers? Is PHPThumb the correct tool to do this in?

  • WPF ObservableCollection in xaml

    - by Cloverness
    Hi, I have created an ObservableCollection in the code behind of a user control. It is created when the window loads: private void UserControl_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Entities db = new Entities(); ObservableCollection<Image> _imageCollection = new ObservableCollection<Image>(); IEnumerable<library> libraryQuery = from c in db.ElectricalLibraries select c; foreach (ElectricalLibrary c in libraryQuery) { Image finalImage = new Image(); finalImage.Width = 80; BitmapImage logo = new BitmapImage(); logo.BeginInit(); logo.UriSource = new Uri(c.url); logo.EndInit(); finalImage.Source = logo; _imageCollection.Add(finalImage); } } I need to get the ObservableCollection of images which are created based on the url saved in a database. But I need a ListView or other ItemsControl to bind to it in XAML file like this: But I can't figure it out how to pass the ObservableCollection to the ItemsSource of that control. I tried to create a class and then create an instance of a class in xaml file but it did not work. Should I create a static resource somehow Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • jquery delay a link from being followed

    - by Dan Sinker
    I have a short css-based animation that I want to play out before a link is followed (a card that swooped in on page load swoops out after click). Currently, however, the page called loads too quickly. I want to be able to briefly delay the href from being followed. Here's what I've got: $(document).ready(function() { $("#card").css("top","0px"); $(".clickit").click(function() { $("#card").css("top","-500"); }); }); The first line swoops the card in on page load. After that is the click call that modifies the CSS, but like I said there needs to be some kind of delay in there because the page loads immediately, instead of after the animation. The CSS that is modified looks like this: #card { width: 400px; height: 500px; position: relative; top: -500px; -webkit-transition:all .5s; } (yes, I know this is webkit-only right now) This is a problem very similar to this question from 2008, but I know jQuery has been updated significantly since then, so I wanted to see if there was a more modern solution. Thank you!

For this, I define the following in the "license_helper.rb" file: def license_download_link(license, link_text = nil) if link_text.blank? link_text = image_tag("download_icon.png", :border => 0, :width => 32, :height =>32, :alt => 'Download License', :title => 'Download License') end tempLicenseFile = "tempLicense.xml" File.open("#{tempLicenseFile}", 'w') do |tf| tf.puts license.data end command = "./runLicenseEncoder.bat #{tempLicenseFile}" generateEncryptedLicenseFile = `#{command}` theLicenseFile = "license.xml" link_to link_text, "license/download" end My "view" just calls this helper class: <td><%= license_download_link(license, ' ') %></td> In the 'routes.rb' file, I have defined the following: map.licensedownload "license.xml", :controller = 'licenses', :action = 'download' map.download "/licenses/download", :controller = 'licenses', :action = 'download' In the 'controller', I have 'licenses_controller.rb' which includes the following: def download theLicense = @license licenseFileName = "license.xml" send_file "#{licenseFileName}" , :type => "application/xml", :filename => "#{licenseFileName}" end However, I am unable to obtain the '@license' attribute from the database in the controller. Could someone please let me know what I am doing wrong here and why I am unable to get the value for "@license". Thanks for your time, Regards, --- AJ
